As she was standing in front of the tunnel, Sonia was getting anxious. Caves were not her favorite. It was too dark to see, it was cold and there were no landscapes to admire. And she had agreed to explore these tunnels for barely any pay... In all honestly, she was getting second thoughts. Her initial decision to just go for it was mostly because she wanted to help out. It was something to do and this Omega person seemed like they mattered here in Terrene. It was about time for Sonia to contribute to this world, she believed.

Recalling the noble reasons behind her decision, Sonia stretched. She was supposed to meet someone by the entrance and join forces with them. She could have gone in on her own had she wanted, but Sonia was careful. She knew that places like this were not to be underestimated and it would be irresponsible to charge in blindly without first exploring the area. She arrived at the destined location earlier, willing to wait for her partner, whoever they might be. Bebe had found a comfortable spot in the hood of Sonia's jacket, and she was starting to doze off. It was probably a good idea, the trainer believed, it wouldn't hurt to recover some energy before they dwell into the depths of the underground maze. Kaname, on the other hand, was standing by the entrance, looking into the tunnel, trying to see what kind of dangers lurked in there.

Sonia adjusted her woolen scarf, wrapped loosely around her neck. She was still wearing her white coat as well, unsure how cold it would be deeper in the tunnels. She couldn't wait to meet her partner. Hopefully, it would be someone experienced and cooperative. She could use someone to rely on.

@Kaien Not sure if we should set this before or after the Coordination contest (which Sonia is definitely taking part in lol). A bit of a short starting post, but here goes. :D

Treasure Hunt
Shae was excited as ever to explore the tunnels! Of course, she first had to meet up with her partner, but the idea of the mountains and tunnels was really intriguing to her. She'd always wanted to explore the world, to see all the wonderful things it had to offer. And now, she was! It was amazing to see, as she had neared the giant peak stretching into the clouds high above her. The anticipation was making her giddy, so her steps were quick yet graceful as she glided towards the designated tunnel.

The young woman, she assumed the one she had been paired with, was waiting already as she approached. She threw up one arm and waved with a brilliant smile. "Hello! I hope you're ready for a wonderful day of exploration!" In truth, she felt confident that she didn't need assistance to come into the tunnels. Her large team was diverse and strong, and she felt they could conquer any challenge thrown at them. But when she heard others weren't so well off, wanting to offer help but not having as strong or experienced pokemon, well, she just couldn't not volunteer to accompany someone!

Besides, she would appreciate the company on this little adventure!

"My name is Shae. May I ask yours?" Her voice was bubbly and pleasant as she approached the woman, holding out a hand for a shake. She hoped this girl was just as excited, or at least pleasant and positive about the day ahead. She could always manage being with someone who wasn't as bright, but it was just more fun when around others who had a similar view - one in this situation that would be ready and cheery at the opportunity to see what lies in the tunnels, and to help out this cause. Of course, if she hadn't been, she wouldn't be here anyway, so Shae kept her hopes up about this one.

Though all of her pokemon were in their pokeballs for the moment, they were aligned around her belt. Well, mostly. After the initial 8 pokeballs, she'd found that she couldn't fit them neatly on her belt anymore. So the bag strapped across her chest held a few more balls, with those of her slugs and a couple others. Either way, her pokemon were ready to come out and fight at a moments notice, if needed. Though hopefully they wouldn't be needed. It would be nice if they could have a nice relaxing stroll in the mountain and focus on the smaller things in life.

Once introductions were out of the way, she'd point forward dramatically and start a couple paces. "And so, let us be off! Let's see what wonders await us today!" Who knew what lied beyond, the looming darkness as the light trickled and eventually faded out in the deep caves promising the unknown. She idly wondered if any of her pokemon could help her to see, and briefly glanced over the pokemon her partner for the day had with her at the moment. She smiled, hoping to get to learn about them and her as the journey progressed.

Woo Tunnel Time!!

Also, my preference would be that this takes place before the ice skating competition! Shae can even bring up that she's organizing it in this thread, if we want :3 Get some insider tips from the original Champ!!

As Shae, and her partner Sonia, descended in the depths of the tunnels, they would not notice much of anything. The cold, stone walls were dull and hard. They would likely crack and chip away from strikes of their pickaxe, however thus far it seemed they would have to explore the tunnels more if they wished to find their target: a metal vein.

Instead of finding the valuable substance, a high-pitched, though not necessarily abrasive squeaking sounded from up ahead. Regardless of whether the two women decided to move forward towards the noise or stop in their tracks, a small creature flew towards them. The energetic flapping of the small, blue bat accompanied his somewhat excited squeaking. At the sight of the humans, he stopped and flapped his wings in place. "(Ah! Humans!)"

Then an odd rock-like creature that almost looked like a squashed rabbit's head with flattened ears on top of an upside down bowl of stone, with crystal and gems decorating the creature giving the illusion of a beard and hair. The Carbink seemed to be hopping along on thin air, never quite touching the ground as they bounced along. "(Humans? Is that what a human looks like? Looks pretty dumb if you ask me.)"

As the other woman arrived and immediately displayed a friendly attitude, any worries Sonia might have had disappeared. She returned a wide smile, waving back. Though her face was beaming at the sight of such an energetic individual, there was a questioning look in Sonia's grey eyes, as if there was something unusual about this woman who introduced herself as Shae...

Then she got it. Of course, they had met before! Back at the anniversary festival, Shae was the one doing a performance with her Pokémon. Naturally, she could be unable to recognize just another audience member like Sonia, but the young trainer decided to bring it up. "Nice to meet you, Shae! My name is Sonia and these are Kaname and Bebe. Ah, I said nice to meet you, but we have actually seen each other! You were at the Ashfield festival, weren't you? I recall seeing your cute Pokémon too! You had Klink, Glaceon and Tirtouga."

She recalled the performance with quite some detail, as one could tell, but that only showed how much she enjoyed it. Watching a show like that had made her feel so nostalgic and eager to try something like that herself. She didn't have a chance to talk to her afterwards, so this meeting, here in this tunnel, was pleasantly surprising.

Sonia headed deeper into the tunnel alongside Shae and Kaname, who trod lightly, looking around in alertness. Bebe was still dozing off in Sonia's hood, being gently rocked with each step the trainer took. While it was still calm, the woman happily continued the conversation. "Do you do these sort of performances often? I was really impressed! Kaname and I would love to try something like that someday."

But the journey could not go smoothly forever. A squeaking noise sounded from deeper within the cave. Kaname halted immediately, his ears laying low. Sonia did the same with some delay. "What is it? Is something coming?" she asked in a suddenly more serious tone. She could hear some strange sound, but did that mean they were in danger?

The answer came as soon as the Zubat approached. Sonia recognized the Pokémon immediately, even if she hadn't seen one in a long time. She had a vague memory of them being common, but not very dangerous. So she stood still, observing the Pokémon with a relaxed gaze. It didn't seem particularly harmful, maybe a little panicked at most, judging from the way it stopped when it... saw them, if Zubat could see. She wasn't sure. She didn't notice another Pokémon at first, mostly because it didn't look like a Pokémon: a floating rock, decorated with gems. But as it moved along, both Sonia and Kaname stared at it with surprise.

The Sylveon growled at the Carbink. "Excuse me, but my human looks just fine. A rock like you should not be judging others so harshly," his dignified voice defended the trainer, as he looked up at Sonia proudly. Bebe peeked out from her bed, rubbing one eye sleepily. "What happen? Why stop?"

"These look peaceful. Do you think they will let us pass?" Sonia asked her human companion, taking a step forward.

Treasure Hunt
The young woman had looked confused for a moment, but seemed to remember something that brought it back together. She listened intently as she started speaking, introducing herself and continuing on to mention they had actually met before. She listed out the 3 pokemon that had started the opening of her little show, and she was so happy to hear someone had remembered - from the sound of it, positively- her performance and wanted to bring it up. She wanted people to talk about what she did.

"Oh, you're so kind! I'm tickled to hear you liked it so much." Shae was beaming, already deciding she liked Sonia quite a bit. She was sure they could become great friends. And she wanted to perform as she did? That was amazing! Perhaps she could give her some tips on transforming attacks into beautiful combinations. "That was the very first I'd done something like that, but I am definitely going to do it again." She was ready to continue on, talking about her plans for the future with performances, but her attention was drawn by the sylveon reacting to something.

Her hand shifted to the pokeballs on her belt, wondering if trouble was coming. The little bat got closer, but stopped and seemed distressed by the sight of them. "Oh, the poor thing is probably scared." She spoke softly as she took in the situation, the rock creature hopping close behind and looking at them. But, she noted that neither seemed to be attacking them. That was a good sign! Some creatures were aggressive, but if they could find and mine the metals without a fight, she would certainly be happy.

And when Sonia asked if they could handle it peacefully, she immediately liked her more. "I'm sure we can find a peaceful way out of this. Let me get some negotiators to help us out." She pulled off the pokeballs labeled 'B' and 'S', clicking the buttons in a single graceful movement with either hand. The red light beamed out, lighting up the cave around them, as the two pokemon appeared. She was sure these two could figure out a way for them to get around this duo peacefully.

The berry pokemon appeared closer to Sonia. He yawned as he came out, looking around and getting excited when he saw other pokemon. New friends! He hopped a bit, but looked over at the rock and bat nearby, before returning his attention to his trainer, who had cleared called him out of the strange device for a reason. When he last went in, they definitely weren't in a cave. He wondered where they were, and how they got here.

Next to him appeared the little caterpillar, the scatterbug stretching his body as he appeared. Shae had been noticing him changing ever so slightly. This was shown just a bit, as the bug wasn't laid down on his body like usual, with just his head sticking up. His two main feet had swollen a bit, helping him to support his weight. Which was needed, as he'd started lifting his body up, as if working towards standing up straight. He was only up to about a 40 degree angle, but it was noticeable to her that he was getting higher with each passing day. The fluff around his collar seemed to be a bit longer too, the width also growing a bit more out, which looked a little silly but was super cute fluff.

"Morning Barry and Seb." She sat on her heels, carefully adjusting her bag to make sure the egg inside wasn't hurt by the shift. "It seemed we may have spooked this bat and its friend. Can you let them know we come in peace? And that we'd like to pass?" Though she knew her pokemon wouldn't understand every word, she knew there were key words they did know from previous encounters that would get her meaning across. She would wait patiently as the berry turned to face the duo of wild pokemon, though super curious about the sylveon and other human.

So, she'd said things like 'spooked', 'peace', and 'pass'. With those, her demeanor, and this cave, he'd pretty much put the situation together. She wanted to pass with her friends, but wanted to make sure the two pokemon in front of them weren't scared or would attack. He could manage that! "Hello! Sorry if my human scared you. We don't mean you any harm, I promise!" His voice was chipper as always as he spoke, gaze glancing between the bat and rock. "I think she wants to go further in the tunnel, but she doesn't want to scare you anymore. Would it be okay if we pass by you?" He'd wait patiently for a response, Seb not adding anything in, but looking back at Shae and then the pokemon. Barry assumed he wanted pets again, but was waiting until this situation was dealt with. Silly bug!

Zubat replied indignantly to Kananme on behalf of Carbink. "(W-Well! They don't have to take it from a girly ribbon dog!)" She said, sounding not dissimilar to a whiny child... Despite the relatively well-intentioned defense of her friend. Carbink blinked slowly, as if it was their version of shrugging. They weren't all that offended at being called a rock. They were a rock-type, after all. Besides, rocks could be rather pretty, no?

Zubat seemed shocking, suddenly jerking back mid-flight, as Shae released Seb and Barry from their pokeballs. "(Aaaa!)" She suddenly began shrieking. There was an exchange between the poofy haired human and the pokemon that Carbink observed, while Zubat was busy freaking out and trying to hide behind Carbink. The Carbink listened to what Seb had to say and rotated somewhat. "(.... Think you're too late in terms of the scaring part. But.... Yeah, sure. You can pass. Not like we own this place or anything.)" Carbink replied.

Zubat seemed to be muttering unintelligibly as she was now clinging to Carbink's back. Carbink carried the Zubat as they hovered over to the side to let Shae and Sonia and their pokemon through.

Sonia watched Shae release her Pokémon with the corner of her eye, with Kaname being the main focus of her attention. She trusted that he wouldn't start trouble, she had seen him try to mediate before, but the way he seemed to snap at the two inhabitants of the caves concerned her a little... He perhaps didn't mind being a girly ribbon dog, he was rather proud of his ribbons, but he was distrustful toward the strangers.

"Kaname, wait," she commanded quietly, and the Sylveon stepped back, blinking slowly as he continued watching the Zubat and the Carbink carefully. Sonia listened in to Shae talking to her Pokémon - a bug and a fruit, both were small and cute, which was just Sonia's type. It looked like her partner had quite some Pokémon with her. It was impressive... If she was an immigrant at all, she must had been in Terrene for quite some time.

The berry spoke up to the wild Pokémon and the two moved aside, with Zubat riding on the rock to safety. The Sylveon nodded, happily accepting this outcome. There was no reason to believe they were aggressive, meaning he could go easy on the antagonistic attitude. "Thank you for understanding. We will be leaving this cave shortly, so please do not worry," he told them in a softer tone.

"Good job, Shae. And you too, little ones," Sonia chirped affectionately, leaning down to let Shae's Pokémon know they were being talked to. Then, with another quick glance at the wild Pokémon, if Shae would be willing to follow, Sonia would move on past Carbink and Zubat and go deeper into the tunnels, unwilling to bother these two any longer. "At this rate we'll be able to find what we came for really fast!"

Bebe yawned, looking down at the nearby Pokémon from her comfortable observation point. It seemed like this place, wherever they were, was quite crowded, which was pretty great. She loved seeing interesting people and places. Her tail was wagging with interest.

Treasure Hunt
With the pokemon taken care of peacefully, Seb immediately turned and - rather clumsily - made his way over to Shae. While normally she would lightly chastise her pokemon for such ways of holding themselves, she understood that he was changing. It would take some time to get used to a new body, she assumed. Once he was done changing so much, she was confident he'd return to a more graceful way of moving around. But of course, as anyone who knew Seb could expect, he bumped his head against her ankle for attention.

"Oh you! Always with the pets." She giggled, squatting down and placing a hand on his head to pet him. She smiled at Barry before she would reply to Sonia. "Good job Barry! You did great talking to them to get them to stand aside and let us through!" She was so amazingly lucky to have such wonderful pokemon as part of her family. They were so kind and strong, and always getting along well with her and others. She loved each of them dearly, and was glad that the cherubi had been able to handle the situation so deftly. And the praise they got from Sonia was an added bonus.

"Thank you! We are always happy to help." She lifted Seb into her arms and stood back up, lifting him so he could perch on her shoulder. "Your pokemon is gorgeous. And his name.... Kaname, was it? Such a wonderful name!" She motioned a hand at the cherubi on the ground. "For formal introductions, the berry pokemon there is Barry, a cherubi. And on my shoulder is Seb, my scatterbug." Though he was looking slightly less like a scatterbug. She was curious what he would look like after he was done growing. What an exciting change!

The girl was just as happy to get moving as she was, which was refreshing. "We'll get all the metal we can and be out in a jiffy! No danger, no trouble, and super successful! We'll show them our girl power." She winked at Sonia, having jogged a bit to catch up. Barry had started moving ahead of her, using his small bit of distance ahead to keep up with the others, his small legs making it a little tougher on him to keep up with their strides. After a couple moments, Shae scooped him up in her arms so he wouldn't have to struggle so much.

"Did you get the pleasure of seeing the Ice Skating contest many months ago? It's kind of where I got the idea for my little performance at the fair." She asked, curious as to what Sonia's interest would be. It would be so exciting if she wanted to compete in the next contest! Hosting, they wouldn't be going against each other, so Shae could give tips and talk her through how to prepare without hurting her own chances to win, since she was already ineligible. It would be great to discuss this with someone else who was interested, assuming the girl would be.

"This is a weird place these humans brought us to. I'm used to the forest, not this rocky place. Any idea what they are wanting in here? Must be something great to enter a dark, creepy place like this!" The cherubi spoke to the Sylveon, hoping to make a new friend! Seb was quiet for the moment, but he was sure the scatterbug would join in the conversation. He was also a pretty social pokemon, not like the bird in their group, always wanting to brood or fly alone. And hey, maybe the fairy could provide some insight into what was in this place.[/color]

[YOU FOUND A VEIN!]

As Sonia and Shae advanced into the tunnel, past the easily resolved previous encounter, the first thing they'd notice the rather loud noises coming from up ahead. If the women were not scared away from the loud, vaguely dangerous sounding noises, they would come upon a scene as they moved forward. A group of four different pokemon were all huddled around a section of the wall. If Sonia and Shae's attentions were not focused solely on the source of the noises, then they'd notice the sparkling sheen in the wall, poking out of the rock wall. That was the metal they sought... Though, it'd appear they'd have to resolve the situation before them first.

Two of the pokemon appeared to be almost identical from the young pokemon from the previous encounter in the tunnels, aside from a few differences marking them as individuals. For example, the Carbink crystal poking out from their underside were in slightly different places, and this Zubat had ears that were slightly longer. Though, to the untrained and uncaring eye, they would appear exactly the same.

The two others were both bipedal, and appearing athletic. The larger one appeared to be wearing white robes with black accents and a black belt around his waist. His skin was an angry red, and his nose and unibrow appeared to be joined, a color as dark as his belt. The other was a soft, pale pink color with protrusions on the top of his head, and appearing to wear bandages and brown pants and shoes.

The situation itself involved a lot of screaming. In fact, all four pokemon seemed to be all screaming at each other for various reasons.

"(What do you mean we're not allowed to go near your section of the wall?! It's a wall! I don't even know why you'd want to lay claim to it!)" Tyrogue screamed at Carbink, seemingly shaking with rage.

"(It's mine! And all of you have to leave! Now! Before I get angry! Er! Angrier! Or I'll... I'lll.... Hit you! With myself! I'm made of rocks and very hard!)" Carbink screeched back at the offended pink fighting-type.

"(I am offended that you dare use such childish arguments in my presence!)" Throh joined in the screaming, though judging by the earlier noises, this argument had actually involved all four for quite a while. Then the red-skinned pokemon turned on Zubat. "(And you! What are you even doing here?! You're just screaming at us about screaming!)" He accused.

"(I like screaming! It's good screaming practice for scaring humans!)" The Zubat's voice was shrill, high-pitched, and struck all three of his shouting buddies as extremely aggravating on the nerves. Now, in comparison to his 'comrades', he was in position to spot the humans. "(Humans!)" He screeched, suddenly flying forward, flapping as hard as he could to get in Sonia's face. Then proceeded to start screaming as loudly and as high-pitched as he could.

In response, Throh and Tyrogue were both covering the sides of their heads with their hands screaming back at the flying-type to stop screaming. "(Stop your incessant shrieking!)" "(Turn it down a few million notches!)"

Carbink, lacking arms to try and protect his ear holes with, let out a cry of wordless rage and immediately started surging towards Zubat, who was struck in the back by Carbink's tackle.

Sonia was more than happy to see that her tunnel partner was chatty and bubbly. A lot of people she had seen in Terrene were so busy with their survival-focused lives that they just seemed grumpy. Shae was completely different. It was a welcome change to meet someone around as optimistic as Sonia herself. It made it seem like their mining trip was a pleasant stroll.

”Yes, his name is Kaname. I don’t think it really means anything, but… I just thought it was cute,” Sonia admitted with a bright smile. ”Yours are so small and cute! I suppose you use real human names for their nicknames?”

Even Shae’s attitude about their mission was refreshing. Sonia nodded in agreement. ”Yeah! This is going really easy so far. At this rate we’ll be able to even stop for a picnic later.”

Sonia blinked a few times at the mention of ice skating. She had no memory of ever doing or watching ice skating, but she instantly knew what it was – she felt that way about many things. For all she knew, she could had been an ice skating master in her previous life. Either way, her mouth formed a silent O as her thoughts ran wild, imagining just how fun it would be go ice skating, or at least watch it. She regretted missing out. If only they could repeat that… ”No, I’ve only been in Terrene for a few months. I must have missed it… That’s a shame, it sounds exciting!”

Kaname wagged his tail in focus as the other woman’s Pokémon initiated conversation. His own trainer was a chatty one and he didn’t exactly share this trait. Still, he felt the need to be polite and play along. ”It is my first time in such a place, too. I admit it is not my preferred way to spend time. But wherever the humans go, we must follow. They need our protection.”

He raised his head even higher, walking even prouder than before, glad to be able to share his life philosophy.

As unknown sounds came from deeper in the tunnel, Sonia frowned a little, wondering what kind of encounters awaited them next. But she went on nonetheless, knowing that she had reliable means of protecting herself, also known as Kaname. Besides, this is what they came here for. There was no backing away now. The Sylveon was listening in, trying to recognize the sounds so he could prepare himself… So far everything was going well and he could only hope that they would be able to pass undisturbed next time too.

It soon became clear that the sounds they were hearing were screaming and screeching of Pokémon. It was a disturbing sight. The Pokémon were clearly in conflict... and rather annoying. Sonia only frowned at them with concern, keeping her distance, but Kaname shook his head angrily. Both of them stopped and looked over the four creatures that seemed to gather around… The woman’s eyes sparkled. A vein! This was what they had come for. She glanced at Shae in order to give her a communicative nod, if the other woman cared to look back at her.

Hearing bits of the noisy conversation, Kaname understood that this time they could be out of luck. These Pokémon were fighting over that wall and that was what they had come for. Sonia would surely want to be a mediator and try to settle the matters peacefully, but to him it was clear that they were just another side of this conflict.

The Zubat came flying for Sonia’s voice and the woman flinched instinctively, taking a step back and raising hands to defend her face. The last thing she would want was a bat stuck in her hair. Kaname quickly reacted to the approaching Pokémon, first hissing at it in warning and when that didn’t help, he lowered his body, preparing a pounce… But then the rocky Pokémon, almost identical to the one from before, seemingly came to their rescue. Perhaps it wasn’t its goal, but it was no longer disturbing Sonia. The woman stepped away, gaining some distance from the fighting Pokémon. Unsure what was going on, she turned to Shae, now moving her hands to cover her ears to muffle the screaming at least a little.

”We need to calm them down somehow!” she pointed out, regretting that Victor wasn’t around with his Budew and the convenient, sleep inducing move it always used. With how loud and displeased the wild Pokémon were, she was worried they would attack her if she tried speaking to them. With Kaname focusing his gaze on the bat and the rock, she called out to the two bipedal Pokémon, taking a step towards them and pointing at the vein to get the message across. ”Hey, sweeties! We mean you no harm. We just need this wall.”

She was trying to make her voice as soothing as possible, given the fact that she had to raise her voice to be heard over the screaming. Bebe was rolling in the woman’s hood, the sounds had surely woken her up. She was probably hoping they would go away soon and she would be able to sleep more. The rat let out a barely audible groan, crying to cover her large ears.

Sonia's Ekans, who had been sneaking along the tunnels quietly, barely noticeably, finally raised his head to see what kind of danger they had run into. Even that low on the ground, he the echoing screaming was extremely noisy and disturbing. He slowly slithered towards the fighting Pokémon, flicking out his tongue. His voice was rather soft for a Poison-type, but the screaming was so unbearable that he had to try, "Do you Pokémon mind? This tunnel isn't all yours, keep it down!"

Treasure Hunt
It was great that the young woman was practically as bubbly as she was. Odd, as she hadn't experienced it much in the past, but definitely a welcome difference. She always found it wonderful to find someone with the same pleasant and happy demeanor that she generally held. "Oh, now a picnic sounds nice! A little rough in this terrain, but I'm sure we can manage." The ground was literally rock here, so it wasn't as though they would be super comfortable, but it was the company that mattered most!

Sonia's comment about only being in Terrene for a few months certainly peaked her interest. "Oh, an immigrant! The same for me, actually. I've just been here quite a bit longer, I suppose. It had been almost a full four seasons since she came to Terrene, which she had been told was referred to as a year. Apparently, she'd come in Winter (which was cold and marked by snow in most regions, she just happened to appear in the one that didn't see snow), and people were talking about how it was coming again. Though, they weren't very excited about it.

Before their conversation could continue however, they were interrupted by some screaming from further in the tunnel. It was terrible and piercing, only seeming to grow worse as time went on. Her smile dropped as her hands went up to her ears to block out the noise, sparing a glance at Sonia to see what her reaction was. The woman had looked over as well, nodding at something. On second glance, she realized the vein they were looking for was behind these pokemon. Well, that was good at least, but they needed to deal with this commotion first.

The Zubat flew directly at Sonia, and Shae's instincts were ready to defend. While she wasn't a fan of hurting pokemon, she wasn't so naive anymore to think that pokemon would feel the same about them. But before she could do more than lifting Seb off her shoulder and starting to place him and Barry on the floor, the little rock creature moved into action as well. It rushed towards them, crashing into the zubat right by Sonia's face. Soon they were falling back to the ground and Sonia was trying to speak to her. Her words were muffled, but she believed she got the gist.

And she agreed. "Seb, stun spore on the screeching bat!" Shae shouted as her hands fumbled into her bag, careful of the egg resting within. Oh how she hoped for once that it wasn't ready to hatch yet. This would be a terrible time for the baby to break out of the shell. As her hands worked in the bag, the scatterbug sighed and started to shake, the spores dusting out of his fur, which took up more of his body than ever before. The spores shot over and attempted to sprinkle over the bat to cause it's muscles to tense, which would stop it's ability to scream temporarily while they get a handle on the situation.

Shae pulled out the silver technological device, commonly known as a pokedex, and started to look through it. Barry stood on the ground, poised and preparing to fight if needed. He wanted to be helpful, like Seb. His limited moveset made him feel a little useless sometimes, but today he was resolving to help out in battle, to put his training to good use. He collected power and started to swell a bit as he did so. The woman tried to search through and find the pokemon they were facing, hoping the stun spore would have the intended effect.

Unfortunately for Shae and Sonia, regardless of the actual difficulty of diffusing the situation either by calming the pokemon or neutralizing the pokemon, the whole ordeal would be rather annoying. Especially since the pokemon didn't seem keen on turning down the volume.

The Zubat, winded and damaged from being hit with Carbink, managed to recover quickly enough and fly back up into the air, more or less escaping Seb's stun spore. Whatever spores may have reached the flying-type didn't seem to have taken. Immediately, the bat started screaming again. "(AaaaaH! Carbink! Why did you do that! We're supposed to be dealing with humans! Not fellow tunnel-dwellers! Oh, whatever!)" The Zubat appeared to be wreathed in blue light as he dived and rushed at Seb.

Carbink was not impressed with their apparently Zubat "compatriot." Though, right now... They were busy staring down Kaname. "(You! Stupid....! Dog....! Thing....! You want my wall don't you?! Well tough luck! It's my wall! Mine!)" The rock screeched ever higher in pitch, despite being a rock. Their rocky body seemed to almost shine, almost defiantly... Even though the group of humans and tamed pokemon weren't really trying to be that threatening as perceived by the affronted rock.

Throh and Tyrogue both appeared no less happy with the screaming Carbink or Zubat. "(Cease! Cease! You're not helping anyone with your babbled shrieking!)" Throh cried out angrily, completely ignoring the softer voice of Sonia. Meanwhile, Tyrogue was glaring at Sonia.

"(What the hell is that, huh?! Stupid human noises make stupid nonsense!)" He screamed, not really helping with the problem of volume in the tunnel space.

Sadly for Sonia's pokemon... None of the wild tunnel-dwellers seemed to notice Bebe, much less be sympathetic. Neither had they paid her Ekans any mind, completely ignoring the snake, as if he wasn't there.

It was hard to understand words with all the noise that echoed in the tunnel. Sonia caught glimpse of what Shae was saying and as her bug attacked with spores, she could only guess that the other woman was taking some action. Unfortunately, it backfired and the bat was heading straight for Seb, at a speed that didn't allow Sonia to react in time and do anything to protect the little one. Meanwhile, the rock was seemingly... making faces. Unfriendly ones, toward Kaname. Did it also want to fight?

Bebe couldn't take the noise anymore. It could be that she was just trying to nap or that her large ears made the screeching even more unbearable, but she finally shifted into a position that allowed her to place her front paws on Sonia's shoulder. She glared down all of the gathered, loud Pokémon, as if hoping that her looks would be intimidating enough to convince anyone. Then, she took aim on the rock that had been screaming mean words toward Kaname.

"No screaming!" she ordered, joining in on the screaming with her high-pitched, childish voice. Then the Ratata opened her mouth to let out a stream of water at Carbink. Sonia shrudded.

"Bebe, no, you can't just spit on Pokémon!" she tried to educate the Pokémon while keeping her hands on her ears still. This wasn't the first time she tried to teach her this lesson and she was starting to actually get in the habit of saying that instead of actually expecting results. The woman stepped back, trying to get the Rattata away from the wild Pokémon, in case they wanted to counterattack. She had to do something else to keep them from attacking...

"Tiro! Disable, please!" Sonia gave the command as loudly as she could, hoping that the Pokémon that had been attached to her neck for protection would hear it. Just to be sure, she tapped the tiny Joltik gently with one finger.

The bug twitched. He heard her just fine, although he had been hoping he could be excluded from this mess... After all, staying hidden behind the curtain of Sonia's hair usually kept him out of trouble. He hesitantly peeked out and the first potential target that got his attention was the bat that flapped his wings so wildly. His blue eyes flashed with an aura of a similar color as he released a high-pitched sound wave at the bat in an attempt to prevent it from using its last move.

As his intervention went unnoticed, Ares the Ekans looked down, slowly slithering backward. He shook his head with disapproval, hoping that the conflict would be solved soon... Kaname, on the other hand, stood guard next to Sonia, a little disappointed that he didn't get a command to attack, but ready to strike at any time.

Treasure Hunt
[OOC: Waaaah sorry this took so long!!]

Shae's heart skipped a beat as the stun spore missed, and the bat turned violent at the attempt to paralyze it. It swooped in at a very high speed, crashing into Seb who cried out in pain, squeaking as the intense attack hit its mark and caused immense damage to the poor bug. Shae wasn't aware of the typing and it's super-effective nature against her scatterbug, however seeing the pain and the way he went rolling across the floor was more than enough to show her this was bad, and Seb needed to be recalled for safety.

This was no longer a situation that could be handled peacefully. The rock was yelling at the sylveon, and seeming to be preparing for a fight, as it tensed up from the harden effect. Shae swiftly pulled Seb's pokeball free and recalled him, her other hand pulling another ball out. The red light shot over to the bug, absorbing him and guiding him back to the safety of the device, where he would be attacked no more. Just the same, her finger struck the button on the pokeball labeled 'K', and the ball opened, releasing the light as it started to take form.

The steel creature took form, the two gears turning into each other as the light dispersed, allowing the klink full freedom to move and attack as needed. The woman didn't miss a beat, not wanting to waste time and leave any of them in further danger. "Kay, thunder shock on the bat! Barry, wait till it's done and tackle!" She called out and pointed, its ball still in her hand, at the zubat. The gears started to spark, the electricity gathering as it got its bearings and focused on the target, preparing the attack. Sometimes Kay would be a little lazy to the punch, but the tone of the human's voice meant that she was very upset, and this was probably dangerous. It was troublesome, but it trusted that she needed him to be quick for a good reason.

Both pokeballs were quickly placed back in their holsters, the woman practically forgetting about her partner in this mess. But she didn't, focusing her attention on the others as the electricity flashed in the tunnel, rushing over to crash into the zubat that had harmed Seb. Once the attack was finished, the cherubi was leaping to crash into the bat with it's body in a tackle attack. The sylveon was being harassed, and the other two pokemon weren't sounding friendly either, both seeming to shout, one of which seemed focused on Sonia. She moved a few steps closer, a couple other pokeballs in hand. She didn't want to attack them if it wasn't necessary, but she would defend those in this tunnel from these wild pokemon in a heartbeat.

Her button pressed another pokeball still, seeking to make sure this battle didn't escalate any further. If the zubat could be debilitated quickly, then maybe the other three would see the threat they posed, and simply run. She couldn't guarantee it, but she had to give it a shot. The red light flashed, the woman having been indecisive about whether to bring her out or not, but deciding in the end it was for the best. Though she was a bit more keen on fighting and hurting others than the woman liked, the bird had come a long way from the hunter she'd been when Shae found her. She was listening much more these days, and she could trust the pokemon to help in times of crisis.

The black bird formed in the air, thrusting out her wings and immediately taking flight. She looked quickly around the battlefield, taking in the sights and the lack of actual battling going on. Well, that just meant there were more chances for her to get attacks in. She cawed proudly just as Shae started to speak up once more. "Mar, the bat! Use Peck!" Between the three attacks, she hoped the bat would be neutralized, and that the others would choose not to fight. She didn't want to cause them harm if it could be avoided, but she stood strong and proud, ready to fight if they dared to continue threatening her family or her new friends.

Zubat was very happy that he hit the bug, sending him tumbling across the floor. Though, the scream-loving bat began to falter, flapping slower as he fell in height a little, the pain of crashing into Seb in such a reckless manner was taking its toll on his small body. He was beginning to feel weaker and less confident. He seemed to have lost the energy to continue shrieking, just speaking in a slightly louder than necessary voice. "(B-But I like screaming!)" Zubat cried in response to Bebe's complaint. Then he got a bit of a taste of his own medicine, a painful frequency locking away the reckless diving attack. Not that he had been planning on using it again anyway.... It hurt a lot, and he wasn't so dumb that he abused it. But then a new pokemon took the scene, a real weird looking one! Then suddenly electricity was surging towards him and he quite literally, received the shock of his life. His flapping became even slower and more erratic, as he was slipping form the air, trying to fight off fainting from the pain. When Barry crashed into the Zubat, that was the finishing blow. The fierce peck from Mar was completely unnecessary, hitting only a dead corpse on the ground.

Of course, the other pokemon in the tunnel were witness to the young Zubat's murder. Sadly, this was a sorry group that was intensely lacking in the empathy department. Carbink was struck with Bebe's water gun attack, and it knocked the floating rock off balance. Enraged, the rock began screaming in lieu of Zubat's silence. "(Listen up you stupid brat! You think you can get away with spitting on me, huh?! Well guess again punk!)" The rock suddenly was flinging themself at Sonia again. Technically, they were aiming for Bebe... However, it was much more likely to hit the human woman instead.

"(Urk! Just great, we have to fight now! These humans are so dumb and rude!)" Tyrogue shouted, mostly to himself. He immediately began surging forward, leading his shoulder aiming for the stupid pink dog.

Throh, as of yet, did not see fit to enter the battle properly. He wanted to soften up the opposition first. "(You are all foolish and can see nary a foot in front of you!)" Though he believed himself much more intelligent than his supposed comrades... He wasn't any less loud. He glared at the opposing pokemon, a piercing glint in his eyes.
