It was surprisingly cold on the mountain, hence why Vertigo had chosen to keep Trouble in his Pokeball. Oh, that had been quite the day. She had spent all of eight hours chasing the blasted armored Pokemon around the base of the mountain just trying to get him into his poke-ball. Finally, gasping and lacking the stamina to go forth, she had decided to just leave it for the night and rest.

The black-haired young woman had tried explaining to the Pokemon that it was necessary for him to be in the poke-ball, but he had refused to be pulled into the blasted thing. Vertigo winced at the next thought: Trouble wouldn't exactly be pleased when he was let out again. In fact, he'd probably try to bite her fingers and toes, while nipping at her heels.

No, she wasn't looking forward to that. However, there was one moment when she stumbled on Omega's camp and had immediately been pounced on by the crazed scientist. From his ramblings, she had vaguely made out that there was a cave nearby and he wanted her to go in and find a bunch of metal. ..Metal? That instantly reminded her that Aron was still in his poke-ball.

A chill shivered down her spine as she faced the dark entrance of one of the nearby caves. Well, she might as well give it a go.

Ivan

@Storm

Out of sight of the woman who had approached the cave in the rolling mountains, Ivan stood nearby. Judging by the pickaxe she was carrying, he assumed she was part of this team of miners that the man known as Omega was recruiting. Ivan had a deep hatred for Beta, ever since he made the mistake of entering his city. Being branded on his head was a strong reminder of the revenge he pronounced to seek some day. For now he would have to work with others who were against him.

Hovering beside him, was his ghostly associate. The duskull known as Grimm scoffed at the human who gazed analytically at the stranger who he’d soon introduce himself. Grimm didn’t care to be standing around as the human did. He liked to keep moving. That tunnel where the strange girl was seemed like a good place to explore. Perhaps there he could find an unsuspecting weakling to torture. Ivan began his stroll over to the black haired woman.

Grimm floated behind him waiting for the moment where Ivan would probably scare the life out of her. Humans were ugly and it didn’t help to have such a tall man dressed in black creep up behind a stranger and announce his presence. Getting as close as he could without making the woman hearing him he spoke. “You could use a partner in there. Perhaps I could be of assistance?” the man cooed from behind Vertigo. It was a sudden and dark voice that would normally send chills down the spines of those who weren’t expecting it.

If the woman agreed to partner with him then together they’d enter the tunnels. Ivan and Grimm would be ready to face whatever they encountered as they searched for minerals.

"Boop!

The young diglett popped out of the ground, having weakened the last layer of earth enough that her head would pop through the top and into the tunnel prettty easily. She called out her fun greeting, that she liked to use to surprise pokemon all around as a fun thing. She found a drilbur walking down the tunnel, who turned a sharp look at her but didn't react otherwise, aside from stopping her progress through the tunnel.

She looked up and saw a zubat hanging from the ceiling, who didn't seem to notice at first. It was, apparently, trying to get some sleep. Which made sense! She noticed the bats having a tendency to sleep during the day, so she wasn't too surprised. In fact, she lowered her voice, and looked to the other mole once again. "Shhh! It's trying to sleep! Be very very quiet!" To her credit, she was trying to whisper to the best of her abilities. The drilbur, however, simply didn't respond. He started walking again.

But when the zubat unfolded her wings suddenly, the flapping noise from them whipping out grabbing their attention, he stopped once more, looking up at the sound sensitive bat. She waited a moment more, before gasping and dropping into the air and turning her body, flapping her wings to stay in the air. Though she hadn't said anything, he already knew what that meant. He was staring down the tunnel, waiting for the humans to appear to their eye.

When they were within few, the larger mole stomped his foot in the ground and grumbled. "Tell your humans to turn around. This isn't a place for humans, and we do not welcome them here." The diglett, however, had a much different reaction. "Ohh! New ones!" She quickly popped back in the ground, digging quickly as she traveled closer to the group. She popped up a few feet closer, to get a better look at the creatures in the cave.

"I found you! Now you gotta tell me what you are!" Her phrase was practically a trademark, though as she looked she realized she knew some of them. She'd seen another human before and, although these two were a bit different, could tell these two were the same species. Though, she then remembered what happened the last time she was in a tunnel, and suddenly grew very timid, half descending into her hole. "Ohh, please don't kill anyone. That's not fun at all." Her voice trembled as she watched, ready to hide beneath the earth if they got aggressive.

Her hand tightened against the cool wood of the pick-axe she was carrying, eyeing the entrance with a sort of irritated look. Everything was so... gray. Not to mention cold. She with-held a sigh, pulling out Trouble's poke-ball and releasing him. As he lunged forward to nip at her heels, Vertigo stifled the urge to smile as she nimbly skittered backwards in an effort to avoid him.

Admittedly, she wasn't sure if she should even go in there. "You could use a partner in there. perhaps I could be of assistance?" The short-haired twenty-three year old would forever deny the slight yelp that escaped her at hearing the low voice. A chill shivered down her spine as she whirled around, glowering irritably at the person who had snuck up on her. Ugh.

The man that stood behind her was incredibly tall, but if it wasn't for the fact that Vertigo was extremely tall herself. In spite of that, she found herself scowling that she was at least a couple inches shorter than him. "Mhmmm." she found herself replying to the man, interjecting as much sarcasm as she could into the mono-syllibic answer. A sharp pain in her ankle had the young woman scowling down at the white-shelled creature in irritation.

"Really?" she inquired Trouble, sarcasm and aggravation leaking into her voice. She scowled at the other man, eyeing the floating skull with slight wariness. As curiosity flashed across her face, she merely rolled her eyes and beckoned to the man. The next few steps saw her entering the cave and carefully looking around the area.

"Blasted human," Trouble muttered under his breath, glowering up at her and shuffling alongside her reluctantly. Both the human and Aron reared back in surprise when a little Pokemon popped up in front of them with a slightly enthusiastic look in her eyes. It was a little brown creature, with a cute little round pink nose. However, it shrank back slightly when it became apparent that the two were staring at each other.

"Why would we kill you?" the Aron inquired bluntly, crouching protectively in front of his traveling companion despite their current relationship. He eyed the mole pokemon nearby, while Vertigo merely stared at the other Pokemon with a blank look on her face. It hadn't really ocurred to her that there would be Pokemon blocking their way. Ah jeez. The human would be his death.

Groaning, he glowered up at the Zubat and Drilbur with sharp, angry blue eyes. "If you kill this human, you'll be taking away my entertainment." he muttered irritably. With a reluctant sigh, he dug mentally into his brain, pulling out the energy he would need to make for this move. Puffing slightly, he moved this energy throughout his metal shell and felt it harden slightly.

Ivan @Storm

There was a light giggled from the man when he noticed her reaction to his presence. He knew she’d be shocked and that’s what made sneaking up on people so fun. Though, even if it was typically his height that made people feel uneasy around him, she was pretty tall herself. Ivan smiled as she accepted his offer to join her in her exploration. It didn’t seem she cared to know his name and nor did he hers. With that it seemed as if the two trainers were ready to enter the tunnels.

The woman let out her companion which appeared to be a small reptilian creature with a metallic shell and plating. The creature seemed pretty obnoxious as it irritated her by grabbing for her attention. Ivan could only grin as he observed the woman and her pokemons’ behaviors. Floating in the back, Grimm followed after them. The ghost had no idea what the human’s plans were in joining this girl on her task, but he hoped it would be a good show. Humans were stupid to go into dark places with those they did not know.

Not getting very deep into the cave, Ivan stopped in his tracks when the girl was taken distracted by something on the ground. Looking down, the man noticed the little mole poking through the ground. It was so tiny he considered stepping on it. It wasn’t long after the discovery of this small pokemon that he spotted the larger mole and bat hanging around the path. Both seemingly annoying creatures who would put a stunt in their exploration.

Ivan wanted nothing to do with any of them but if they were going to get by he’d have to. The little aron had seemed to be focusing its energy in self defense. It was cute but they didn’t have time to focus on playing things defensively. Ivan tossed out a ball, which released a small black rodent that hissed as it faced the larger mole standing before it. Behind him, Grimm floated to the front prepared to take part in the fight.

“Go on, then,” he cooed. The heavy tone of her trainers voice told her that he wanted her to take action. She didn’t know what she was supposed to do but this mole was pretty scary with those claws. The rattata ran backward and climbed up her trainer’s arm and onto his shoulder. The tall man let out a long sigh as the lack of initiation from the rat. Grimm cackled at the rattata’s cowardice and the fact that the aron didn’t strike immediately. He’d have to do the dirty work as usual.

“Best defense is a good offense, no?” The ghost directed his glowing eye at the drilbur leering at it with a solid glare. The duskull charged its body with dark energy as the eye faded away. When he was fully charged he released the dark energy forward at the larger mole. Ivan watched with a lack of expression. He didn’t care if any of the pokemon didn’t attack first or if the diglett seemed harmless, his pokemon would.

"Well, that's what the other humans were doing. They came in and killed the friend for no reason." She retreated back a bit after speaking, putting a little more distance between her and the enemies that could potentially try to hurt her. She popped out of the ground again and faced them once more. "I don't like seeing death. It makes me very sad." She stayed half hidden in her hole, as the ball activated and the flash of light revealed a ghost, floating in the air and facing them. If this situation could have gotten more scary, that was certainly one way to do it.

"You should be able to emphasize, steel one. They come in waves, butchering all pokemon in their path, and stealing the metal from which those like your kind feed on. They keep coming back, over and over again, and we must stop them before they hollow out these tunnels we call home." He spoke curtly, but not unkindly. "But if you and your allies attack, I'm afraid I have no choice but to retaliate in order to protect these caves and pokemon. Please leave while you can." The drilbur's attention was also drawn by the ghost - He knew he wouldn't have much effect, if any, on the ghost. He would need to leave that to the bat.

They were prepared, but still he was unable to dodge the dark pulse attack that came spiraling towards him, the dark energy crashing into his body. It was on now. That attack started the battle, and he was not going to back down. He might not bid well against the ghost type, but the steel type would fall to his claws if he had anything to say about it. He rushed into the battle, the startled shrieks of his allies from the battle starting ringing in the tunnel as they all pushed into action, not wanting to leave him alone in this fight. The drilbur lifted his claws and brought them down, using his crush claw on the Aron.

The zubat and diglett started to move at the same time, though the diglett stayed in place. She didn't want to attack, but she wanted to help. So she simply growled at the ghost, hoping that would be helpful but not really wanting to draw attention to herself. The zubat starting to flutter her wings fiercely as she concentrated her draining energy. The pricks of life being pulled from the duskull would come in the form of green bubbles, which would pull of it's intangible body and float over to absorb into the zubat's body instead. It wasn't her strongest, but it was a start for now.

[would like to roll for a metal vein]

The Pokemon at Vertigo's feet shuffled agitatedly as the Diglett half-hid in her hole even further. The young woman found herself frowning slightly, her fingers tightening around one of the Pokeballs in her sweatshirt pocket. Trouble shifted irritably, eyeing the Diglett and the Drilbur with a wary eye. When the Drilbur rushed forward, the Aron dug his legs into the ground and pushed his shell forward in an effort to absorb the damage of the move coming.

As its crush claws came into contact with him, Trouble let out a furious snarl. This next move was going to hurt. Rearing his head back, and ignoring his surroundings, the Aron swung his silvery head back around at terrifying velocity in an attempt to head smash the Drilbur into submission.

While this fight was happening between the two pokemon, Vertigo found herself peering around the cave with a rather disinterested expression. If Trouble wanted to kill himself doing this, he might as well go out fighting. He was a rather bitey Pokemon, so maybe he wanted to fight more often? The young woman didn't really care regardless, as right now her mission was to find metal for that stupidly clingy scientist.

"Going to help me find some metal?" she inquired of the man next to her, squinting at his stupidly tall frame and feeling another pang of jealousy that he was still taller than her. Oh, she hated that. Grunting, she slung the pickaxe around and observed the walls. Now, was there a metal vein around here somewhere or not? The diglett out of the corner of her eye caught her attention.

It seemed like the little thing was trying to get out of battle, so... why not try to capture the thing? Hmm. Vertigo withdrew one of her Pokeballs, before hesitating slightly. No. No, she wouldn't try to do that. Not yet anyways.

Ivan: Tosses pokeball at Zubat. @Storm

Grimm wasn’t entirely interested in what humans had done prior to their arrival. It wasn’t something he got a chance to witness so why should he care? The diglett seemed weak and cowardly so there wasn’t much fun in trying to eliminate it when it couldn’t really fight back. He just decided to keep his focus on the larger mole who based on his actions in attacking the Aron, he couldn’t do much of anything to the ghost. Grimm was pleased by this, making his victim extremely vulnerable. “Oh, don’t turn away from me…” he spoke with a haunting tone.

Hearing the growling of the tiny diglett, Ivan didn’t want to leave things to chance that the mole had some secret move in it's arsenal. He had to make sure that all the targets were eliminated as soon as possible. He came here for a job, not to play with these pokemon. Even if Grimm was the one who enjoyed playing. He gripped the rattata from his shoulder and placed it on the ground. The tall man knew that the rat could be of more use than the young pup who was hiding behind his leg the entire time.(YES THE ENTIRE TIME)

“Go on,” his voice resonated. “This one isn’t so tough.” Ivan pointed to the little mole growling at Grimm, trying to throw off his assault. The black rat looked up at her trainer and could kind of tell that the tall human wanted him to attack but he didn’t know what to do exactly. Perhaps he could just wing it. There was no way he could take on the drilbur but this diglett seemed like cake. The tiny demon sprinted forward quickly to attack the rat head on.

Grimm didn’t appreciate the diglett’s shrieking but of course the demon rat would run ahead to shut it up. At least he had some value other than taking naps and eating berries. Speaking of being useful, along with the rattata joining the fight, aron had finally retaliated after taking a powerful attack from the drilbur. The steel time was resistant to the claws but the aron seemed to have felt it. Normally the ghost would not care if the aron died, but if they were all going to get through this cave, the human woman would need her pokemon.

Oddly enough the human girl seemed to wander off. She also didn’t seem to care her pokemon was struggling. With that, Ivan also took notice. The girl asked if he was going to help find metal while they were in the middle of a fight. The tall man let out an annoyed grunt, brushing off Vertigo. “I’m busy…” he groaned. Ivan turned back to the battle to keep an eye on what his pokemon were doing.

The ghost with the skull mask leered intimidatingly at the drilbur to disable it from using it’s strong attack once more. The terrifying glare would petrify the mole from going for crush claw again. It was now a good time to attack once more with a dark pulse. The energy buzzed out of the ghost in a wave and shot toward the drilbur. After doing, the ghost could feel a slight sap of his energy being drained. He didn’t know where it was coming from but he was too focused on killing the drilbur.

Ivan spotted the little zubat hanging up at the top of the cave. Slightly interested in it’s energy sapping abilities he wanted it for himself. He didn’t care to become it’s friend or weaken it so that it was vulnerable. The man whipped out his last pokemon and tossed it up at the bat, hoping that it would remain inside and become another weapon at his disposal.

capture attempt!
Zubat is healthy, and a pokeball is being used, so the chance is 30%. RNG says... 67. Heck!

[OOC - The rolls for veins are done as you progress into the tunnel. I already rolled for the first section, and it failed. You have to pass this encounter before another roll can be done, as the characters need to move past this area to continue searching.]

The hollow tunnel around them echoed with the crunching of bones as the aron delivered a devastating blow to the drilbur, who hadn't even had a chance to think about dodging. As the steel-shielded pokemon crushed his body into the creature, he would feel the bones snapping beneath the pressure as it's face caved in on itself, his skull shattering from the intense blow and not stopping there. His ribs in the front were broken as well, as the body went rolling back from the strong attack.

He was already dead when the dark pulse was readied, the disable having no effect on the corpse. The attack, having not been launched due to the quick death of the target, never reached the mole. Both of the others cried out in fear and shock at the immediate takedown of the most fierce of the group. The diglett quickly dug into her hole - and there was no seeing her again after she went down. She was thoroughly scared, having seen yet another pokemon killed before her eyes and not wanting to follow in those steps. And with one of the humans walking around, she needed to escape quickly.

The zubat's shriek was stopped short as the pokeball bounced against her - she'd been so preoccupied with the crushed drilbur that she hadn't been paying attention to the humans at all. The ball absorbed her and fell to the ground, rocking not even a full time before it burst open in red light, the bat being released and fluttering away as fast as her wings would take her. She had no interest in dying - these humans can take whatever they want, but she wasn't going to sacrifice herself for them to kill her and still get what they wanted.

Ivan

With the Drilbur dead and the girl whose name Ivan had forgotten, the tall man scanned the area. It appeared that the diglett fled before his rattata could have at it. The rodent stopped suddenly when it noticed the mole dig down into a whole to escape. She peeked her head into the hole hissing at the diglett who was probably long gone by now. The demon rodent scurried over to her master’s side, not wanting to fight anything else if they were just going to run.

Electrike was glad to see the and tiny mole flee. She didn’t want to fight the winged creature and she probably couldn’t do much to the diglett. She peeked her head from behind Ivan to see that the larger mole was dead. Crushed even. The human girl and her pokemon and destroyed it and there wasn’t really much of a reason to stick around. She seemed to be heading off in her own direction anyway. Ivan didn’t have time to follow her.

The ghost that had aimed to assist with killing the drilbur was a bit disappointed it died before he could strike it but he loved how it went down. To see its crushed body lying there was truly a beautiful sight. This adventure into the tunnel was most pleasing to the duskull and he was glad the human decided to come here. He wanted to keep going. There could be more pokemon who would be walking right into their own death trap. He only wished that the diglett and zubat’s corpse would be lying there with the drilbur. Perhaps they could make a pile?

Ivan, ignoring stranger and her aron, pressed forward through the tunnel with his pokemon trailing behind him. He had hoped to find these metals quickly so he could be on his way. Sure it would be nice to encounter more pokemon but he wasn’t in the mood for making friends and his pokeball need time to recharge before making use of it for the day. Electrike stayed at his side. She couldn’t do much beside paralyze non-ground type pokemon. Grimm was seeking a fight and the rattata was just hoping they could leave soon so she could nap. The group made their way deeper into the tunnels in search of a vein to mine.

@Shasyu

It was likely that the group would hear the sounds before seeing the pokemon, the punches against the tunnel around them creating noise that echoed through the tunnel a little ways. Masked mostly by the multiple punches was a small scratching noise against the walls, though it was certainly less enthusiastic than the others, who seemed amped and really going at it. The group of tunnel dwellers was training in actuality, working to get stronger together. And the wall just happened to be their target, for now.

The first to notice their attention was a pokemon that looked like he was dressed up. A black sash and belt decorated a lightly tinted blue karate gi. The hard rocky skin was a bold blue color, with a strange z-like design making up its nose and continuing above its left eye. The oblong head turned to look at the new arrivals, the pokemon huffing as they approached. Did they dare interrupt their training? Or, perhaps, were they wanting to join? It better be the latter. He grew very angry when things tried to interrupt his training.

The sandshrew saw the movement of his head, and turned his own to look over and slowly took in the group travelling towards them. A shiver went down his spine as he saw the duskull floating in their direction. He was certainly not excited about a ghost being here, and had no intentions of letting it get the jump on him. But as the other two came around to noticing, he waited a moment, as he didn't want to catch the overeager yellow one in a strike.

The makuhita smiled as they approached, continuing to punch the empty air in front of her even as she turned to look at the strangers. The tufts at the top of her head, resembling tied knots, brushed as she moved. "Oh, hi! Do you want to train with us? We are training! I like punching things. It feels good on my hands." The upbeat fighting type didn't seem to share the anger nor fear of these pokemon and the human as the others of their little group seemed to.

Looking up and growling, the weasel was less interested in them. Though they could be dangerous, they weren't yet. And he was too focused on letting off steam. The cream and pink colored pokemon returned his focus, continuing to punch at the wall. He seemed to be mumbling, but it was all incomprehensible as he took out his unknown rage against the hard cavern wall. Though the wall would never bend to such regular hits with his fists, he certainly seemed to attack it fervently.

"We're training. Don't interrupt unless you are going to train as well." The Sawk would wait for the moment, but would not wait long if they didn't either join or turn around to leave. He was not a patient soul. Most of his kind wasn't. However the sandshrew wasn't about to wait until the human and his pokemon launched attacks. Feeling kin with the mouse, for the moment, he focused on the ghost. He curled and gained momentum rolling forward until releasing to leap into the air, focusing his strength into his metal claw attack. He wanted that ghost to quickly go away.

Ivan

Making his way further into the tunnel in search of a vein, Ivan had found himself standing opposite a unique group of pokemon. None of which he had ever encountered before and he wondered immediately what they were capable of. He was always seeking pokemon of value to him. These pokemon seemed like fighters and as good as that was it could also mean that they were very dangerous. Pokemon such as this didn’t have the ability to fight ghosts however. At least not this young and especially if they were not trained in elemental abilities.

Grimm floated onto the scene to see the fighting type pokemon along with the sandshrew. These type of pokemon always made him cackle since they never seemed to be able to touch him. As much as he thought it would be entertaining to start up a confrontation, he wasn’t sure if the human and his pokemon would survive this fight if these fighting types were provoked. The ghost surely be fine and that was great but this wasn’t exactly the place to have his fools die.

The small black rat wasn’t happy about this situation as she rested on Ivan’s shoulder. Sure she was probably safe way up here on the tall man, but who knows what would happen. Pokemon like these enjoyed beating on her kind and being a demon, she’d be greatly affected by their signature abilities. The rattata wanted to take no part of the battle, so she remained comfortably on Ivan’s shoulder.

At the man’s foot was the green pup. The little pup noticed the lack of hostility coming from the fighting pokemon and was even intrigued by the invitation to join in training. She sure could use some experience in fighting but worried that they had a different definition of it. The electrike could only hope that it didn’t involve her being the target practice.

Unaware of what the pokemon were saying, Ivan allowed his own to do the communicating. He found himself rather interested in all of them, but he wasn’t entirely sure of what they could do yet. Honestly he still needed to find the vein and didn’t know what it was going to take to get passed them. Perhaps if he remained neutral this time around, seeing as the odds were against him, he could move forward. There was even the possibility of obtaining a useful fighter.

The electrike came forward to the makuhita who seemed pretty friendly. The small pup wagged her tail as the upbeat pokemon punched away at the cave walls. “I want to train too!” she barked. She approached the wall and tackled it. She really didn’t know what else to do and biting the rock hard wall seemed silly. She was happy to learn what she could from the fighting types.

Grimm floated beside Ivan, waiting to see how this was going down. The ghost wasn’t expecting the small rodent that had been cowering in the back of the fighters to suddenly attack with a metal claw. It appeared that it was fearful of what the human and his pokemon’s intentions were and worked up enough courage to attack, though the ghost had safely floated out of the way. This made the duskull worry it would ruin the entire plan. He didn’t want to harm the sandshrew and cause a battle so he just flashed the red light beaming from within his body, to disable the mouse’s attack. “Relaaaax, little one. No one is here to hurt you,” he cooed.

There was honestly no trusting the duskull’s words but at the moment he had no intentions to harm the sandshrew. At least for now. The rattata, climbed down Ivan’s shoulder to meet the yellow mouse. Perhaps speaking with another rodent would help to calm the sandshrew. “Hey that was an impressive move. How did you do that with your claws?” the rattata squeaked.

The electrike was quick to begin training with them, which was sufficient enough to pull the Sawk's attention for the moment. He watched as the pup energetically dashed towards the wall, enthusiastically tackling it to join in their training. This was exaclty what he'd been asking for! Well, from this one at least. "Yes! Good! Tone your body and focus your attacks on the indestructible. Use it to better your own strength!" The sawk kicked at the wall as a follow-up, not stopping his own training. After all, this was their training spot. The makuhita followed suit and returned to training.

The sandshrew was entirely less welcoming to the group even after the supposed peace they offered at the moment. He tried to prepare another metal claw attack, but found that he just couldn't seem to summon the strength - or, something was preventing him from trying the attack again. A mix of fear and determination locked in his eyes as he glanced over at the duskull, sure that the ghost had done this. But, if he couldn't use that, there was no way he was bringing down this ghost...

The rattata seemed... oddly friendly for the moment. But the shrew wasn't so content just because of the words of Grimm and the compliment from the rodent. He hesitated before speaking, trying to decide whether he should even stick around. For the moment, he stood in place, only a few wary steps widening the distance between him and the duskull. No distance between him and a ghost would be enough distance, in his book. Still, his head turned to give partial attention to the pokemon inquiring about his move.

"I... it's something I've been able to do since birth. Passed from my fierce parents." His eyes kept glancing between the two pokemon, unsure which he needed to focus on. The rattata didn't seem to be threatening at the moment, but it was traveling with this ghost. "Why do you travel with a ghost? Are you possessed?" The sandshrew had dropped his voice to a whisper, hoping to only communicate his words to the rattata. A small squeak interrupted him as he mentioned the possession, the fear of such a thing happening to himself still strong.

Ivan

Electrike took the Sawk’s instructions. The fighting type seemed to be skilled in combat and it was definitely something she was lacking in. The green wolf most got through situations with her wit. Hunting was a different story. She only ever went after pokemon she knew she could kill easy. She wanted experience in taking down bigger foes and this seemed like a good place to start. “Yes, sir!” she barked, continuing to tackle the wall.

Grimm remained in the background. He could tell his presence was making the sandshrew anxious and it had already tried to attack him. To avoid provoking it, he just remained an observer. The ghost kept quiet as the other pokemon interacting with the wild ones. Ivan just waited for an opportunity to speak up.

Despite his paranoia, the yellow mouse still replied to the demon rat. She stepped closer as he spoke. She didn’t want him to focus on Grimm at all. If they did decide to attack, she had to be sure the sandshrew was as distracted as possible. “Since birth? Interesting!” she squeaked. “Wish I could learn a move like that,” she giggled. It was strange seeing the rat interacting with anyone else besides Ivan, but she was doing her job. Even if she wasn’t battling, there was more than one way to get a pokemon out of the way.

The yellow rodent wanted to know why the rattata traveled with a ghost. He also assumed she was possessed. The demon cackled. As if a ghost could possess her. “I am only loyal to the human. He feeds me and his intimidating appearance keeps away predators,” she explained. “Not all are smart enough to stay back but that’s when the duskull comes in. Protects us all even though he acts as if it’s for selfish reasons.”

Hearing what the rattata said about him made the ghost want to die laughing...again. As if he could give a trubbish about these mortals. Still they were entertaining and he had no intentions of letting them parrish anytime soon. Not until he got the best laugh out of them or until they died doing so. That would be complete gold. The duskull was getting a bit impatient though. How could there be so many fighters and no one punch was thrown at his traveling companions. While his pokemon kept the others distracted, Ivan approached the makuhita to observe her closer.

“You seem very strong,” he cooed. The round yellow pokemon was bulky and it seemed as if she could take a few hits pretty well. Also, it looked as if she could seriously hurt her enemies. Ivan was greatly interested in this one and needed to find a way to convince it to join him. He couldn’t exactly just capture it after using his pokeball earlier. The ball needed to recharge after the failed attempt.

Kneeling down near the wall, Ivan tried to be as close to the makuhita’s height as he could be. He slowly gave the wall a punch to show the yellow fighter that he was also training with it. “There doesn’t seem a point in all this training, if you don’t have any real challenges,” he continued speaking to the makuhita. “I can bring those challenges to you if you’re willing to fight with me.” Ivan punched the wall again, only a bit harder. The pain didn’t bother him as he tried to show the makuhita he was just as tough as it was.

The ghost liked where this was going. More pokemon with the human meant he would try and take on bigger battles. Nothing would be more fun than to see these weaklings trying to take down something that was way over their heads. The duskull figured he’d do his best to help with Ivan’s goal in this situation. “The human thinks you’re strong, but you could be taking on greater challenges. Remaining here will only hold you back. You really want to train, work with a human. They get into all sorts of battle worthy situations,” Grimm’s voice vibrated as he spoke to the fighting type. If this one had no interest that would be fine. It wasn’t like she was the only fighter here.

@Shasyu

As the conversation progressed between the rodents, the sandshrew was hugging itself, not liking the odd sensation that kept it from using its metal attack. And though the ghost seemed to stay back, that wandering red eye behind its mask still kept the pokemon super spooked. The rattata's speaking was admittedly slightly helpful, though not being possessed and traveling with the duskull wasn't exactly a welcoming sign. Plus, the ghost apparently protected them? That was even weirder, but the dark type seemed earnest in her words. That didn't make him more comfortable, but at least a little relieved that he wasn't about to be attacked.

He shot a glance to the duskull once more, even as the words tried to pull his attention on the dark-type. There wasn't much that could be done to make the sandshrew trust the ghost in any way at the moment, but he didn't feel like fighting or running anymore. At least, not enough to act again. "If you say so... I still find it very hard to believe." He trailed off as he replied to the rattata's attempts to comfort him. It was slightly successful at least, but he really just wanted the group to leave ASAP.

The sawk was pleased to see that the human was punching the wall as well, joining in their training. He'd heard that humans were coming into the tunnels just to steal things. Clearly this one had better priorities, since he and his pokemon were interacting and training. Though the little rat could stand to join in. "Yo, rat, you going to get in on this great exercise?" He bellowed joyfully, sparing a glance at the ghost but not commenting further. The ghost didn't exactly have limbs to hit the wall with after all.

As the human was speaking, a low and odd collection of noises she'd never heard before. She was intrigued, her fists slowing down slightly as she continued punching at the walls repetetively. He punched the wall as well, and she got excited, beating her fists together in a manner similar to clapping. Though she couldn't understand what the man was trying to say to her, she liked that he punched the wall. Was he joining their training too? Oh how fun it was to train with friends and strangers alike! He didn't even flinch as his fist bashed the hard wall. Wow!

The ghost was weird too, but being naive as she was, she'd never actually seen a ghost before. So, when he started to speak to her, trying to translate the human-speak, she wasn't afraid of him, much to the shrew's dismay. She clapped her fists again. "Yes, I am strong! I like challenges!" Though she wasn't sure what the pokemon meant by staying here. "You mean, there's other places than here? Like, other caves? What are they like?" She'd never been outside her tunnels in this mountain, so she was a little clueless as to anything outside her little world.
