Welcome

Our old universe has fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new universe, this new world, and give it purpose. (Our site is best viewed in Firefox or Chrome.)

Events

Summer is here! There are a whole bunch of Pokemon swarming, a whole bunch of quests that need doing. We also have two plot-related events: Professional Army and Alpha & Omega, and a slightly less plot-related but no less exciting event, a Tournament!

Season

Summer will be here until September. All of Terrene is heating up; Desert Strip gets more hot and dry, West Forest gets more hot and humid. Thunderstorms rage, particularly in the south. Bug, Electric, and Fire types are more common.

A Greater Calling

The quiet, tired sobbing was so different than that of the screams that had filled the night. Pain relief was a rarity in this apocalyptic world, and trying to relieve it usually required issuing more pain first. It was necessary, as getting to the root of the problem was the only way to truly fix the source of the pain. In the field, there was no anesthetic to ease one into a slumber free of the world, and barely any drugs to help war the nerves firing off in alarm to the damage on the body. And the continuous assault upon the skin as the needle poked in an out, weaving the thread to pull the parted flesh together once more.

With a flourish, the procedure was over. Each bloodied rubber glove was pulled off and set to the side, as an arm passed across her forehead to wipe sweat off. The patient laid there on the folded grey cloth, stained red with blood from lack of suction. This had been an emergency - there was no time to return to grab equipment. The man started to waiver in consciousness as the medicine started to do it's work, the damage inside his body fixed up. Well, assuming the stitches held. The work was flawless, of course, but there were plenty of other factors that could cause the stitches to rip if he wasn't careful.

Or was just unlucky, again.

A deep sigh, a hand picking up the bloodied blades and other metal tools next to her kneeling body. Dark eyes looked up into the cloudy, dark sky. Though there was a lull in the disaster for now, the rumbling in the distance was a sure sign of trouble to come. They needed to get this man to shelter, now that they had the chance. Without a word, Zahir hands her the bowl filled with chemicals to sanitize her tools. The blades are placed into the water and the bowl is pulled away. Carefully, the woman gets to her feet and stands up, stretching after the hours on the ground.

"Let the others know the procedure is done. They should collect him quickly, as it seems a storm is raging on the horizon." Arshia's head turned upward as her gaze poured over the dark clouds again, the sky rumbling yet again in warning. "And we should get moving as well. Tight schedule to hold to, as you know." She spared him a faint smile, looking down at the sleeping man to eye her own work. The large incision on his chest was perfectly closed up, though notably red and swollen since it had been so recently pierced.

But the artery was fixed and he would live another day. Hopefully, that was. There was no predicting what this world would throw, but she knew she would overcome anything it had to throw. Whatever gods ruled over them, cursing them to oblivion, she would defy. Whether it was intended or not, she had risen and grown in the devastation, showing that she isn't just any normal human. She is better than the average, better than the expectations, better than them all. And she eagerly awaited the day she would show them, as she turned to her dear friend, helping him to clean up from the operation.

Shae headed into the marketplace, knowing she had a few things on her list to get. She wasn't quite ready to go out and travel the world yet, but was preparing for it. She'd heard a new event was coming up soon in Crater City, and wanted to get out to see what all the hubbub was about. So, she was out today on a mission to collect some of the items she would need in order to be ready to make the journey. She shifted her bag, having taken her eggs with her. She didn't feel comfortable leaving them at home.

She checked through her mental list as she looked around at the stands. She needed a tent. That had become clear after her trip to the Crying Plateau. Staring at the stars was great - when the weather cooperated. It was probably best to get another supply pack or two as well, just to be safe. And more pokeballs. She was out, and really needed to be ready should the situation come up that she needs it. Shae wasn't sure exactly when that would be, but it was important to be prepared.

Walking up to one of the general merchants that sold the items she needed, she smiled brightly. Of course, she knew almost all the merchants in town, and chatting with people was easy already for her, so there was no hesitation as she approached. She hoped the person running the stand was one of the people she'd run errands and deliveries for. "Hello! I hope your day is splendid so far. I'm looking to buy a tent, 2 supply packs, and 3 pokeballs. Can you help me please?" She waved at the merchant, her voice as sweet as ever as she greeted and got down to business.

"Mar! You cannot attack Seb unannounced. How many times do I have to tell you?" The shrill voice strained out loudly, ringing through but being absorbed by the trees. The woman was practically hysterical at this point, her countless scolding of the bird getting really redundant. Her temper flared when she would lash out against the others on the team. They were a family! How long would it take her to accept that? She wanted to be gentler and more understanding, as she knew the murkrow hadn't picked this life, but her temper always got out of hand in these situations.

And so, yet again, the dark-type tried flying off.

Sighing with the pokeball in hand, Shae returned Mar to her pokeball. Against her will. That just... bothered her, but she couldn't let the ornery bird back into the wild to terrorize other creatures. With the pokemon back in what she referred to as a cage, she lifted the ball and looked at it, her expression a twist of frustration and sadness. All she wanted was for all her pokemon to be happy, but for some reason Mar just wasn't receptive. There were times they'd seemed to bond, like at the ice-skating competition. And yet, here they were.

In certain ways, she liked to think they were similar. Both competitive, and always looking towards the next adventure. The both loved to get out and stretch their wings, exploring the forest and seeing what the world has to offer. They both enjoyed being around others, and playing and enjoying everything they can. At times, it almost seemed like she was looking into a mirror, seeing herself in a pokemon. She was even the aggressive type, with a bit of a temper. But, she was never so hurtful and attacking as Mar, preferring to solve conflicts with words or rather avoiding them at all.

Eyes glazing over, she shut her eyelids and tucked the pokeball away on her belt. With a long tap, she took a deep breathe and reopened her eyes, returning her hands to her sides. She looked over at the scatterbug, who seemed much more comfortable now that he wasn't being attacked. Of course, the attack hadn't actually landed as she'd stopped it in time, but he was always a little shaken when she would do that. "C'mere Seb." Her lips perked in a sad smile as her eyes softened, watching as the caterpillar crawled over.

She pat his head in the way he liked before lifting him up to her shoulders. With her bag strapped over the sleeveless yellow top, resting on the edges of her short, royal blue skirt, she started off again. They'd come out to search for more berries, as she'd made pretty great progress on her face cream. She was finally starting to figure out the effects different berries had on color, texture, and moisture levels when placed on her skin. It was going well, but she wasn't looking as intensely now, her mind still stuck on Mar as she walked through the trees.

This dev serves a few purposes: To lower loyatly/develop negative relationship with Mar (I know I'm crazy but I promise I have a plan here), gain experience with the whole group, and to work on hatching eggs. Also, going to work on increasing her crafting skill, by compressing the berries into a liquid formula for the babies.

It was time for a pivotal day in training - Individual day. Shae did this from time to time, to get a better understanding of how far each of her pokemon had come, as well as getting the chance to really bond with each of them personally. Or well, that was the idea. It seemed she was having challenges, more and more as she discovered herself and her pokemon, in connecting with Kay and Mar. The two had such different personalities and desires than she did, she just couldn't quite understand them. And she suspected it was the same the other way around.

And so, she was going to start the morning off with the toughest of them all - Mar. The murkrow was difficult to work with, didn't listen half the time, and tried to escape when she thought the woman wasn't looking. It was only through a careful eye and the device that held her that she was able to keep leash on the bird. It was unfortunate - she hated using the pokeball as a forced cage. But she couldn't allow the dark-type to return to the wild, hunting poor defenseless pokemon and killing them for sport or food. There were better ways.

So she activated the button and called out the murkrow, who came out on the grass. She stretched, her dark feathers illuminated in the morning light. They were well preened and rather beautiful, albeit with a darker intensity that gave a whole new depth to her. She was a gorgeous pokemon on the outside, but her inside needed work. A lot of work. She'd realized shortly after battle capturing the creature that reforming her would be an uphill battle, but she hadn't truly understood the challenge she was being faced with.

Even now, it had been months, and it didn't appear she was getting much of anywhere with Mar. There was a time they had gotten along decently well - the competition. Shae had appealed to Mar's competitive spirit and desire to be victorious and worked with her on creating a routine for the ice-skating contest. And it had worked pretty well. While they hadn't exactly bonded much during the experience like she'd hoped, Mar had been amicable to working together to win the competition. And win they did.

Her hand idly rubbed the shell of the blue egg she'd gotten from winning that competition. It wasn't a prize she could share much with the bird, but she'd hoped the baby would be friends with her after hatching. Both of them, actually. Her other hand was cradling the green egg, of which she'd found during the egg hunt. Both eggs were bound to be hatching any day now, and she could hardly believe it. It had been a while, so it made sense, but the idea of adding more pokemon to her family already seemed crazy.

And she wondered if she was truly ready, as a person, to raise any pokemon.

She watched as the murkrow started to preen, cleaning up before the day ahead. Of course, for her, there was no telling how long she would actually get to spend outside her pokeball when they weren't at home. Mar was always up to some sort of dirty trick, or trying to fly away, or flat out attacking pokemon she shouldn't be. The dark-skinned woman sighed deeply, wishing as she had many times before for a breakthrough with the dark-type. She was arguably the strongest and most graceful pokemon in the family, and Shae wanted to badly to be close with her. But it just wasn't happening naturally.

And she was unfortunately running out of ideas. She'd wrapped her head around the ideas many times, trying again and again to come up with ways to bring them together. But the bird was not receptive to most any tactic. The few she'd seemed to accept in the past usually ended up being cancelled out by a forced return to her pokeball. If she could just behave herself, she knew they could be friends. But the murkrow didn't listen to her enough. And so, they were still struggling in their relationship.

Maybe that would change soon. She had another strategy to try, when the time presented itself. Today was not that day though, as they were focused on training today. She bundled up the sheet next to her, making it stable and cushioned. Then, she carefully set the two eggs in the sheet, making sure they were safely and warmly nestled away as the sun shone on their gorgeous shells. Standing up, she reached into her bag on the ground and sifted through, looking for the objects she used for training Mar while she finished preening.

"Meet me by the edge of the forest to the north. I'm leaving at noon tomorrow. I won't wait."

His deep, coarse voice still resonated in her head. It was a promise, a sign of hope. Something to look forward to even. A chance to get away from this place and learn some real skills. And maybe, just maybe, even get some peace. A chance to sort through her thoughts, her emotions. There was so much to think on, but without a moment to reflect on it herself, she couldn't even begin to figure out what was going on, or how to deal with it. Now, if she could learn to be a hunter, and survive on her own, she could find some solace.

Or so she hoped.

She needed to be here by noon. Being honest, she had no idea exactly what he'd meant by the sentiment, but luckily the couple that took her in did. And they were ecstatic that the dating had worked out for her. It hadn't, in the way they thought anyway, but they were useful in getting her up and out in time. And pointing her in the right direction. So she'd arrived, way earlier than she needed to, in order to make sure she didn't mess this up. It was an opportunity she couldn't afford to miss, under any circumstances.

Leona absently pet the fur between the jolteon's ears, not even realizing what she was doing. The soft fur felt nice between her fingers, and the idle movement made the wait a little more bearable. It was her fault for getting here early, but better early and waiting than late and missing out completely. So, here she sat in the grass with the leather backpack strapped to her back, shoved full of all the things she owned. Which wasn't much. She wasn't sure what to expect today, but she figured it was better to be prepared.

Looking, you'd think she was keeping an eye out for someone, but really she was absently glancing around as she stared off into space, lost in her thoughts. She appreciated whatever information he could give her, and was looking forward to the different kind of company. He was different than the others she'd met so far, and she was glad to think she wouldn't have to be prim and proper around him, seeing as how he could care less.

Assuming he actually showed up, of course.
