Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new universe, this new world, and give it purpose. (Our site is best viewed in Firefox or Chrome.)

Events

It's the most wonderful
time of the year- meaning, the time of Delibird gifts and of winter festivals! And as always, our plot events are still going strong.

Season

winter will be here until
March. Aside from the western Great Forest, which is too warm, and the Desert Strip, which is too dry, snow begins to fall across the region. The chill of the season has just about every area firmly in its grasp. Ice and Dark types become more common as the temperature drops and the daylight fades.

The candles ooo'd and ahhh'd as the mareep started explaining why the humans do the weird things that they do. The shelters made more sense, when they thought about it that way. While they were ghosts and didn't need to worry about danger or weather and all that, humans were very squishy and fragile from what they heard. Also gamey in taste apparently, but they didn't eat so they never quite understood what that statement meant.

But the bathing in water thing still made less sense. After all, if water was so scarce and they needed to drink it to survive, why would they waste it by pouring it into tubs and soaking in it? Unless, that was how they drank faster?? But their thoughts were interrupted by the joke, at which they both giggled."You'd think with an ocean so near this place would have more water." "Not that we're complaining, but we don't need nor want water to survive." She shrugged happily, watching as the human was setting at getting something out.

The scent of the bread immediately hit the houndours senses, a small stomach growl releasing at the reminder that food was still a thing she needed. So when the human handed her a piece of food, if it could really be called that, she gratefully accepted, carefully taking the bread from her without nipping her hand. It was soft, and weirdly squishy. It was really odd and she didn't particularly like it, but it was certainly better than the nothing she had to choose from. The litwicks saw the offered bread, but were confused about it and didn't want to accept, instead pointing and whispering quietly to themselves about what the heck it was.

Though likely not very noticable, there were a few objects in the sand up ahead as they were walking. They weren't organized, and would be hard to see in the night. Even if the adventurers had noticed, it would look as though there were rocks, though they were smooth and shaped like two ovals stuck together, sticking out of the sand. Otherwise, they didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary, quite a few of the rocks around and able to be tripped over by a less graceful human or pokemon.

Sasha smiled to herself as she finished the piece of bread given to her. She glanced at the pup and then at the candle twins. The kid ate it, but the twins seemed confused on what the hell this unknown human thing was. The sheep sighed and kept walking. "(Bread is good in my opinion. That's what that food was. Humans seem to like it a lot and my human kinda keeps a stash of it, helps on an empty stomach.)" Moments went by and the mareep decided to continue with her question and answer session.

"(Well, the water in the ocean is salty as all sh- Heck.)" She didn't want to swear in front of kids, it felt weird if they started repeating her words. "(Humans and pokemon can't really drink that water, unless you're a water pokemon or something. Well, I guess they could still wash in the ocean water... Huh. You got any more questions about humans? Kid?)" She glanced over at the houndour and smiled reassuringly.

Blue smiled as both Sasha and the houndour began to eat the bread, but nodded in understanding as the candle twins refused the food. Hesitantly, she ate a bit of the bread and put the rest of it in her pack. The young woman ran up ahead, not paying any mind to the rocks at her feet. Like you'd expect, she quickly tripped over the rocks and fell face-first into the cold sand. "Ugh..." She murmured, pushing herself up.

"(Wow, really graceful, Human. Great job.)" Sasha teased, smiling. She knew the creature couldn't hear her, but she didn't care.

The houndour glanced at the mareep as she posed a question to her, asking if she had more questions on the humans. Given most of the conversation was between Sasha and the candles, she appreciated the chance to speak, even if she wasn't really sure what to say. There weren't any burning questions, as she was still processing every that was happening in this day. It was a lot to take in over the course of not nearly enough time, so she ended up just slowly shaking her snout to show she did not have questions.

But even the litwicks wouldn't have much time after that to get any further in the conversation. As Blue's foot caught on what looked like a rock, the rock seemed to open - showing that it was not a rock, but eyes. The sand startde shaking wildly as the pokemon started to uncover itself silenced groans coming from beneath. That was, until it was able to get its enormous head out of the dirt, the lighter brown color showing more in the night than the darker skin that covered its eyes, which had been resting above the sand.

It called out in panic, having just been 'kicked' in the eyeballs. It didn't move to attack, not seeming angry with the human, but did flail its body around in a way that indicated she should probably move quickly to make sure the little sand hippo didn't bash into her. Though it wasn't especially tall or long, it was very dense, and could cause some damage if she was hit. But if she moved away, she'd find it didn't even seem to notice or comprehend where any of the others were.

Though the one pokemon didn't seem like much of a threat, the pained voice ringing into the air quickly alerted all the other 'rocks' resting in the sand. The other eyes all started to pop open as they were alerted to the other being in distress, quickly joining in the chaos by flailing their own bodies out of the sand and creating a cacophony of noise to disturb the night. The candles floated in and tried to hush them, seeing about trying to soothe their worries and tell them it would be okay. Meanwhile, the fire pup started shaking again, apparently frightened by the crazed ground types.

Sasha sighed and nodded as the houndour shook her snout. "(Well, you-)" Her words were cut off as all the shit went down in a short amount of time. First, the rock seemed to awake. Was some prophecy shit gonna go down? Well, nope. Instead, a hippopotas pulled itself out of the ground and started flailing around. The noise it made was disgustingly loud. The human lied on the ground, seeming semi-horrified at the ground hippo.

Suddenly, more popped out of the ground, adding to the horrible noise. Sasha wished she could block her ears with her stubby feet. She realized the houndour was shaking and when she saw that the litwicks were trying to calm the hippos down, she made it her job to watch over the kid. The sheep stood by the houndour, fluffing up her wool and glared at the screeching hippos. If one were to come near them and provided danger, she was ready to protect. She didn't want to show it, but she was subtly afraid of the hippos. She had always been wary around ground types of any form.

Blue's eyes widened as the whole chain of events happened. She was afraid to move, but she had to if she wanted to get out safely. She pushed herself up, growing wary as more hippopotas appeared. Blue shook her head and stared at the two litwicks, then at the duo of her partner and houndour. "Guys! We should probably run and give them time to relax!" The human shouted to the companions she was traveling with.

Blue started to run around the group of screaming hippopotas, avoiding them if they strayed and flailed her way. "Come on!" She called to the litwicks, gesturing her hand to tell them to back up. She approached Sasha and the fire pup and she huffed. She did the same hand gesture and backed off from the group of hippopotas. She silently hoped the litwicks backed off and left the hippos alone to relax.

The houndour watched the the terror started to erupt, unsure of what to do. The hippos were not creatures to take lightly in the desert. They hid beneath the sand, were super heavy and dense, and moved in large packs. She'd always been taught to avoid them whenever possible. But the human was stuck in there with all of them freaking out. It didn't seem fair that such a nice human should have to be put into such a dangerous situation. Or at least, she'd been nice to her so far.

These two had helped her, fed her and comforted while the pup was lost and wandering alone in the desert. Where others would have seen that as an opportunity to attack the little dog, these two had been more than willing to allow her to tag along, and she was growing little by little more comfortable with them. The human got up and ran over to them, motioning as if to leave. The fire type wasted no time in turning to start off, fully believing the candles knew what they were doing.

And so they did. Their time in the desert had taught them quickly that pokemon were easily spooked. A lot of them were scared of the ghost twins already, when they did nothing but simply exist in their little wax bodies. They turned and waved to the human and others, but made no move to follow. "Go ahead, get away." "Do not worry about these ones." "We'll stay behind, and help them calm." "Show them they are safe, so they can rest again." "You said it yourself, you know the way home." "So let us help you here, so you can return." They both smiled as they waved, hoping the group would let them do this for them.

Meanwhile, the hippopotas didn't seem to be letting up at all. Though they had no focus to attack Blue or her pokemon, they thrashed around still. Whenever one would start to slow down, showing it might calm down even the slightest, it would look and see the human again and resume its flaling, It certainly didn't look like they were going to calm down anytime soon, despite the litwicks assuring them that they could hand this job.

Sasha sighed in relief as she realized that her human was ready to break for it. She nodded towards the houndour and allowed her to follow the human as she shouted 'come on' to the candles and bolted off. She was about ready to break off herself, but paused as she heard the two candles speak. They were staying? In this mess? It would probably be better to leave the hippos alone to cool down and relax, but the two insisted on staying.

The sheep hesitated to shout at her human and the kid to stay with them, but that would only put them in the risk of danger. She knew she had to follow the others if she were to get home. She sighed and called out. "(I... I can't thank you enough! Though I'd prefer you to stick with us, I support your choice! Just... Just remember that we'll take you in if you two return to us! Thank you again!)" The sheep didn't even feel disgusted at herself for being thankful for something, these were good kids that deserved happiness. It wasn't their faults that they were ghosts and that society usually feared their kind. She shook her head and bolted after the human and houndour.

Once Blue was sure they were far enough, she stopped to glance beside her. Okay... So houndour, Sasha... Where were the twins..? The girl immediately began to panic, staring straight at her sheep, who seemed to be sad herself. "S-Sasha what happened?" The girl stammered, as if expecting a worded answer.

The mareep paused and pointed her tail in the direction they came back. Blue started to worry more. "D-did they run in a different di-direction? Did they fall behind? Did they stay? Did they..." She stopped listing as Sasha nodded at the last answer. Oh god, why did they stay behind? She felt worried for the two, having to deal with that herd of hippopotas. "Hello!? Are you guys there!?" Blue called out suddenly, cupping her hands around her mouth. The girl stopped and stared down at the two pokemon.

"C-come on... We need to get back to the town..." Blue murmured, wiping her watery eyes. She bent down to pet her mareep and then scratch the houndour behind the ears. She stood, and stared walking.

She didn't know why she had become so attached so suddenly, but that was how she usually was. She felt like she had known Sasha her whole life, but she had only known the sheep a month or so. She had only met Ri a couple of times, and she felt like they were good friends. Even now, she felt her and the houndour were friends. She had felt attached to those litwick too. They just wanted company. She couldn't dwell on it too much, she kept walking.

The houndour's ears perked up as the human began to panic, seeming to get a little more frantic. It didn't take a fairy type to detect that the woman looked like she was freaking out a little bit. She'd turned and called out towards the direction they'd come, where the surprised ground types had been freaking out. The racket wasn't loud enough to be heard much anymore, mostly muted by the distance between them. She wondered why the human did that.

As the tall creature turned back and seemed to continue to wherever they were going to go now, her ears softened and relaxed a bit once again. She was still a little shook over all the little scares tonight, but it wasn't crippling at all. At least, not now that they were away from the commotion going on. She spared a glance as her paws padded in the sand at the sheep who seemed to have it together, but a little sad. Like her partner seemed to be as well.

The pup wasn't... entirely sure why they were so upset? Did they not want her around anymore? Maybe she'd been attracting all the trouble. Well, she wasn't doing it intentionally, but it did seem to start popping up after she appeared, and in quick succession. Maybe they thought it was her fault? No, then it would be anger. They'd be mad... right? The dog was completely unsure how to feel about the situation, and what to do in the immediate future.

And, she still hadn't seen or smelled any traces of her pack. Eventually she needed to be reunited with them, right? She was much to young to be on her own, and certainly not skilled enough. It was comforting having these two at her side, seeming so warm and kind. Where was it they would go? Back to the human settlement? "So, uh. What now?" She wasn't sure whether they still wanted her around when they were feeling so down. Perhaps she should leave? She would, if they wanted her too, but she didn't really want to leave right now herself.

This is the end of this little adventure! Go ahead and make one more post, and mark your befriending attempt if you want to try and take this doggo home. I'll close with my next post~

Blue paused as she soon saw the faint sight of Oasis. She didn't think she'd be this excited to see the burning hot town of anger, but here she was. The woman once again formed a smile on her face and her sadness slowly started to lift. "Hey, I see it!" She cheered to the two, forcing herself not to break into a run.

Then she heard the soft voice of the pup. She turned and blinked. "Um... You okay, pup?" She crouched down and tried to pat the dog lightly. The houndour seemed upset... Was this her doing? She didn't want to hurt the pup at all. Sasha seemed to be murmuring comforting words to the houndour, judging from the tone in her bleating. Blue awkwardly glanced around for a bit, and finally came to a conclusion.

"Um, would you like to stay with us..? I don't blame you if you don't." The girl sat down and smiled lightly but reassuringly.

Sasha glanced at the houndour in slight worry. The kid seemed to be thinking a lot, maybe because just earlier the human seemed to be panicking just a slight bit. "(You good, kid? Nothing is gonna hurt us now.)" Sasha murmured as the human pointed out the human shelter.

Suddenly, the human seemed to approach and crouch down, asking something in a rather awkward tone. Sasha glanced over at the houndour, ready to translate. "(You wanna stay with us? If you'd rather leave, that's fine.)" She nodded to the pup. Honestly, she would be sad if the pup chose to leave. This kid seemed nice. Plus, one more member to the team would be nice. A baby stunky and human didn't make too much conversation, and she sure as hell wouldn't talk with that stupid ant known as Fluffy.

The human's soothing words and voice were oddly comforting, even if she couldn't understand exactly what she was saying. This human was kind and she was grateful for the help and companionship these two had given her. The lost pup had just wanted to get home, back to her pack, but the more hours that passed, the more she felt it would never happen. She had honestly been losing hope even before she'd stumbled upon these two.

So when the offer to stay with them was made, she was cautiously excited. "Y-y-you mean it?" She didn't want to abandom her own family, but then, who knew if she'd ever see them again? And she couldn't just wander the desert alone forever. She'd die. Her pack would be happy to see her with a new family... wouldn't they? Humans were supposedly bad, but this one seemed so kind. And the sheep was welcoming and comforting as well. She couldn't just turn it down to go wandering aimlessly to her death... "I'd like that."
