Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new universe, this new world, and give it purpose. (Our site is best viewed in Firefox or Chrome.)

Events

The biggest event of the
season- of the year, even- is the Anniversary Fair! We also have a lore contest for the month of November, and our plot events are still going strong.

Season

Autumn will be here until
December. All of Terrene is cooling by degrees; those in Ashfield scarcely notice because it never truly gets cold there, though they will notice the decreased rains and humidity. Winds pick up, particularly in the southern areas. Ghost types are more common this season.

The pickaxe was heavy in Shadow's hands as she dragged herself into the tunnel, all her Pokemon outside and following her cautiously. They didn't know what to expect from being here, and it frightened them, despite Hubris' and Pyre's initial bravado. But now? It seemed like an even worse idea to do this. Angel glanced back at the Pokemon group then at her trainer, murmuring her misgivings to the whole thing.

"Come on, guys, how bad can it be?" Shadow asked. They could hear a note of tremor in her voice before she steeled herself and continued forward, "Besides, I have you guys with me. You can help." She continued to murmur as she glanced back at the other Pokemon. Kindle, who had also came along despite not being in a pokeball, had stuck close to the tunnel wall, tail puffed up and standing on end. She was worried that he might not be able to fight properly if it came down to it.

"Pyre, can you come up front? I can't see." Pyre hesitated before going towards the front and began leading the way. "Thanks." The girl kept her eyes peeled for any sign of metal that she had to use her pickaxe on. And maybe some Pokemon too, if it came down to that. You'd be surprised at what kind of weapons can be improvised.

The first alert Shadow would have of potential danger approaching in this dark tunnel was the hurried steps echoing through the cavern. They were hard, powerful, yet small steps that rushed, getting louder and louder as they approached the group. It would be another minute or so before they would be able to see anything by Pyre's illumination, the darkness surrounding them and threatening to consume them. What might seem most odd about this was that there was only a single set of footsteps - only one creature, despite how panicked the steps may seem.

Soon enough the 2 foot grey pokemon would appear in their sight, coming to a sudden halt as they noticed the human and her group up ahead. There were still several feet marking the distance between them, but the humanoid creature's head could be seen at the edge of the light, shooting a double-take behind them and back to the group. A few cautious steps brought the pokemon closer to them, but it seemed unsure of getting too close, eyes passing over each of them as if to assess the danger. But it kept looking back, as if it was being chased by something.

And so it was. Despite the lack of steps hiding the fact that another creature followed the fighting type here, it appeared soon enough. Though, this looked more like an object than a pokemon. The flickering light of the litwick's candle shimmered upon the steel surface, a long sharp blade sticking into the light first. The dark brown hilt was decorated with a blue sphere, with an unmoving black circle in the middle, looking eerily like an eye. At the nd of the hilt was dark blue cloth, weaving out and sharply changing into a lighter blue color at the end. The cloth was wrapped around the sheath for the sword.

It moved into the edge of the light and stopped. If Shadow focused and looked, she'd be able to figure out the sword was not being held by anyone - it simply floated there of it's own volition. Whatever this strange thing was, it wasn't natural, but her prior experience with ghosts might help lead her to a positive conclusion about the blade that hovered across from her, making no further moves. The machop was practically shivering, looking between the two forces and trying to decide on a course of action.

The group paused when they heard footsteps coming from within the tunnel. "What is that?" Shadow murmured as she squinted through the darkness. It was hard to see, much harder than she would've expected. Maybe she was too used to the light, she didn't know.

Then a human-like gray thing came stomping forward. She didn't think much of it at first, the Machop not really her focus as she moved on. She only managed to take a step until she saw something floating behind the Machop. Her eyes widened.

"...I want it," she said, loud enough for everyone in the group to hear, "I want that floating...thing. Whatever it's called, a stick? Hold on, lemme get data on that Pokemon." She fished around for her pokedex and, once she pulled it out, began scanning the Honedge. The group of Pokemon were...less enthused.

"She wants...a Pokemon?" Angel asked, glancing back up at her trainer. Miki shook her body.

"Not a good idea, I'd be creamed into wax on the floor if we fought," she said, making a point to go hide behind her trainer. She began to use Minimize, shrinking down as a just in case. The other Pokemon were unsure what to do. Except for Hyper. He simply jumped forward on a piece of charcoal that fell to the ground without their trainer's notice and shook it between his teeth. But that wasn't really relevant to the situation.

"Gah, this thing is slow. You know what? I'm just going to throw a ball at it," Shadow said as she glared at the pokedex, the other hand fishing out a quick ball. She immediately tossed it at the Honedge and eagerly awaited to see if it will catch it.

capture attempt !
A capture is attempted on the Honedge. For a healthy pokemon, with a quick ball (specialty being used according to it's use) the rate is set at.... 70%??? The heck? Anyway, 70%. RNG says... 71! So close!

The ball arced forward towards the sword, who'd been more than prepared for it. It simply phased its body at the right moment, causing the ball to simply fall through it. The clack echoed in the tunnel as the ball hit the floor of the tunnel, the ghost being less than amused about the attempt. It swung towards the ground, the tip of the sword meeting the ground, then stopped for a moment. And then, it began dragging across the stone floor, a terrible metal shrieking filling the space around them.

The machop threw his hands over his ears, trying and failing to plug out the metal sound. It was horrifying the noise a possessed sword could make. He wasn't interested in seeing what else this nightmare machine could do, but when he turned to run he noticed the human was still there with her pokemon. He waved frantically, trying to shoo them off so they'd run. Then, he could run as well. He didn't feel comfortable enough to try passing them, as he didn't know whether he could trust this group of pokemon.

But the sword was drawing closer, floating easily towards them. The fighting-type's indecision would prove to be devastating, as the sword arced back into the air silently. It's blade came down as it got close enough to the creature, metal tearing through tough skin on the pokemon's back. He called out in pain, stumbling a few steps away and turning to face the honedge. The wound on his back started to bleed a bit, but it was easy to tell it was not a fatal blow. But with the pokemon drawing closer, they'd need to figure out a course of action - whether that be fight or flight.

There was a beep as the pokedex finally registered the Honedge in question. "Oh good, about time," she murmured as she took a look through the data. She scanned it quickly enough, but was interrupted by a powerful screech. She and her Pokemon instantly winced from the sound. "Ugh, I think we can do better than that," she grumbled as she looked at her Pokemon, "Pomf, Hubris, Kindle, Growl at it!" Her Pokemon did double takes as they looked at her incredulously. Nonetheless, they came forward and tried to get in a good enough range for their Growls to work. "Angel, see if you can whistle at it, to add in the Growls." Her Petilil nodded and got closer as well before performing her Grasswhistle.

With that being said, she turned to the Rockruff as he laid there, gnawing on the piece of charcoal. "The heck? Where'd you get that?": she murmured as she tried to get it from him. He simple stopped gnawing and turned his head away. "Hm..." An idea came to her. "Hyper! New toy! New toy over there!" she said with faux excitement as she pointed to the Honedge. He stopped chewing and looked at her, eyes wide with anticipation. "You want the new toy? Go get the new toy! Go on, Bite it!" she encouraged as she kept pointing at the Honedge. He barked excitedly and barreled over to the Honedge, flames licking from his mouth as he promptly used Fire Fang. The charcoal had a weird taste in his mouth and made him want to use the fire type move.

Meanwhile, Pyre was still Minimizing herself as she peeked out from behind her trainer. She quickly ducked back, not wanting to be a part of it. She just hoped her trainer knew what she was doing, watching her pick up the piece of charcoal and placing it in her bag.

[OOC: Keep in mind Metal Sound lowers all poke's SP DEF by 2 stages, so all your pokemon have -2 SP Def.]

The sounds ripped out, the machop remaining in the awkward placement between the group of pokemon and the steel type. None of the fray was aimed at him for the moment, for which he would be thankful if he was in the right state of mind. Unfortunately that was not the case for the fighting type. Instead, the fear of the ghost continued to keep its hold on him, freezing him in place despite his wild mind's preference for running at the moment, with nowhere to actually run.

The sword was much more amused with the retaliation from the human and her team, listening as the growls erupted from the throats, the three pokemon having stepped up. The steady eye flicked to the prey, then back at the others of the group as it continued to float in front of them. But as it started to move, to attack back, its consciousness started to blur. A sweet, whistling sound lilted in the air, the grass whistle carrying towards its target. The move had effect, its own ability betraying it in avoiding a forced slumber. It faded out, falling asleep from the song.

The blade clattered to the ground, the sound of metal clashing into the ground echoing against the walls. It simply lay there un-moving as the soft pads of the puppy pushed it across the tunnel, fangs filling with fire as he did so. It was an easy target for him, though wouldn't feel good to the rockruff as his fangs closed in on the steel. But either way, for the moment, the sleep effect had overtaken the ghost, putting its body to rest temporarily. The dog would be able to do what it will for the time being with the sword.

Hyper skidded to a halt as he felt the edge of the sword cut into the sides of his mouth. Why did it hurt all of a sudden? Toys weren't supposed to hurt.like that. Luckily there was no blood and it didn't do much damage. He growled and shook his head back and forth as he tried to figure out this new toy.

"Hyper! Come here, boy!" His ears perked up and he turned to his trainer. Growling, he dashed forward, the scabbard dragging along the floor as he rushed towards his trainer. "Good boy, Hyper, good boy!" Shadow cooed as she knelt down, "Now come on, give me the thing." When she tried to reach out for it, however, he simply turned his head away. Her smile fell apart. "Come on, Hyper, give me the thing." She reached for it again and took it by the cloth. But when she tugged on it, he just growled and yanked it away. "...Hyper. Give it." His tail was wagging as he growled playfully and tried to get Shadow to play too.

"...You know what?": She fished around in her bag for something before pulling out a pokeball. Then she promptly smacked it onto the end of the sword sticking out from the Rockruff's mouth. It instantly disappeared. He yelped and looked around wildly, completely shocked that his new toy was gone. Barking uncertainly, he looked at his trainer's hand and licked it. She began to pet him. "Good boy."

Meanwhile, with her other Pokemon, they seemed fairly tense as they looked at the pokeball Shadow was holding, the one containing the Honedge. "Hey, is anyone gonna talk to that mini human right there?" Pyre asked as she peeked out from Shadow's leg.

"Oh! Yes, of course!" Angel said before turning to the Machop. "Are you hurt? Don't worry, we're here to help you."

capture attempt !
A capture is attempted on the Honedge. For a not quite healthy but not quite injured pokemon who is also asleep with a pokeball, the rate is set at 40%. RNG says... 52! Not quite!

The light flashed as the device absorbed the sword, the sleeping spirit taken when it was at a disadvantage. The ball shifted in her hands, rocking once, and then twice. Then it popped open, the light flashing out once again. The sword reappeared in the air, very much uncaught and awake. The eye glared down at the human as it reappeared, the ghost enraged by the second attempt at capture, and deciding how to move forward.

For now, it stood its ground, the sash weaving out in the close quarters of the human and the rockruff, having vanished and reappeared next to both of them. The blue cloth reached and attempted to wrap around the puppy's body, binding tight and lifting into the air. If it was successful, then it would carry the dog with it, keeping its meddlesome snout away from anywhere it could bite on the sword. It did not want to suffer any further transgression by this thing.

It quickly turned and rushed, tugging the puppy with it if the dog had been successfully trapped within its grip. The machop was forgotten at this point, the ghost simply wanting to make these pokemon pay for daring to try standing up to it. The first target was that incessant whistling creature that had cast the spell of sleep. Not wanting to risk such a dangerous status yet again, it cut down at the petilil with its fury cutter attack, to make sure she wouldn't whistle again.

"Ack!" The ball popped open and released the Honedge that was now very much awake. "...I'm getting deja vu here with Hubris," Shadow muttered as she put the ball back in her bag. The Piplup looked offended as he chirped in indignation while the Honedge dealt with the party of Pokemon.

Hyper found himself yelping as the sword wrapped his tassel around the pup, whining as he tried to figure out what was going on. His new toy...was wrapping a blanket around him? No, not a blanket, but it was a little restricting and he couldn't move at all. Barking, he tried to move and snap his jaws around in a Bite attack, hoping to at least land on something.

Angel had heard the noises behind her and turned around, just as the sword attacked her with Fury Cutter. She screamed, something that sounded wrong to everyone within the vicinity. "ANGEL!" Shadow yelled as she began fumbling with her bag, "Hold on! I'm gonna help!"

The Big Root that Shadow had been carrying on her person fell to the ground during the scramble. Noticing it, Kindle quickly dashed towards it and grabbed the root into his mouth before rushing over to the Petilil. He tossed the root at her before slinking back, away from the Honedge that was most likely going to kill them all.

The Big Root ended up bonking her on the head and entangling itself into her leaves, making it look like she was wearing some kind of crown before drooping down. She whimpered in pain before throwing Leech Seeds at the Honedge, hoping that nobody would have to sacrifice themselves as they were attacked.

Pomf and Hubris hesitated for a moment before they started Growling in unison at the steel sword, hoping to at least weaken it somewhat. As Hubris growled, the water type unleashed a stream of Bubbles at the sword, facing it down fiercely as he took a step forward.

As for Pyre and Cranberry? Pyre kept on Minimizing while the Bounsweet began to hop around in a panic. Yelling out to Angel, she began using Acupressure on Hubris, bouncing towards him and almost knocking him to the ground. For some reason, he felt more...evasive? Like he was able to dodge the Honedge easier? He didn't know, but hopefully whatever Cranberry did to him would help in the long run.

The pokemon and the human around him started to panic, finally understanding just how much of a mistake it had been to anger him. Yes, he fed on their distress, some of them fearing him and what he could do, as they should. He was a powerful ghost with a deadly blade that would surely bring this whole group of children to their knees, begging for mercy before he would deliver the final blow to each. Yeeess...

The machop watched as most of the group stood up for themselves, seeing the petilil getting attacked and snapping into action. They raised a fuss and a few sent out attacks, attempting to stand up to the sword. It... wasn't a good idea. It wouldn't work surely. The ghost was just too powerful, didn't they see? Why didn't they turn and run, so that he could as well? He wondered, idly thinking about how brave each of the ones fighting must be. But still, he couldn't seem to muster up the courage to help them out, much as he might want to.

The ghost continued his assault on these who dare try to attack and capture him. Swinging the blade harder than before, he struck at the plant again, who'd thrown out seeds that stuck to the steel, very lightly sapping at his energy. Water splashed upon his other side, and he turned to the source, quickly turning another fury cutter attack in succession at the piplup, completely displeased with being attacked yet again. He hardly noticed the pup, who would get nothing but needless cloth in his mouth.

The situation was getting bad. Everyone could tell. Cranberry was hopping all over the place with her Splash attack, but she was still trying to help by using Acupressure on Hubris. He felt more speedy all of a sudden, but it couldn't stop the attack that hit him. He let out a screech of shock as it hit, not expecting it to be so powerful. And yet, he remained standing as he glared at the Honedge before using a Bubble attack.

Meanwhile, Hyper could sense how dire the situation was. Growling, he began biting the air with a Fire Fang, flames licking the side of his mouth as he bit desperately.

Pyre, seeing that the attacks wouldn't miss, tried a different route to save herself. She began using Acid Armor in hopes of increasing her defense, a shiny sheen now on her.

As for Kindle? He didn't want to fight. He wanted to run away from the situation, really badly. But he couldn't just abandon the ones that took him in when he had no place to go. So he Growled at the Honedge, hoping that it would be enough to stave him.

Pomf, too, continued to Growl, knowing from experience with the Litwick that none of his moves would work on this particular being. But maybe he could help stall it. Without warning, he charged towards the Honedge, intent on sacrificing himself so that the others would be alright.

As Shadow scrambled for healing items, she could hear her Pokemon cry out in pain at the Honedge's attacks. She was mentally berating herself for wanting that thing in the first place. Now her Pokemon were gonna die.

Or maybe not! She pulled out a pokeball and a Sitrus berry and rushed to the blade that was hurting her Pokemon. "Eat this!" she cried as she tossed the Sitrus berry at Hubris and slammed the pokeball into the Honedge. The sword was sucked in and Hyper found himself on the ground. He whined as he got up and ran towards Angel, sniffing her.

"Angel?" Shadow asked as she went towards her fallen Petilil. She fished out her pokeball and sucked her back in. "You deserve a break after all this," she said, her back turned towards the pokeball that she hit the Honedge with. Hubris quickly chowed down the berry, instantly feeling better. Everyone but Shadow kept a wary eye on the pokeball.

capture attempt !
A capture is attempted on the Honedge. For an injured pokemon, with a pokeball the rate is set at.... 40%. RNG says... 99! Yikes!

The human moved in, running towards the battle as the plant was struck once again. The light poured out and encompassed the pokemon, sucking its form into the device. The machop couldn't believe his eyes. Even the fleshy, powerless human was being brave! She'd ran into the fray to try and help her pokemon, who weren't nearly powerful enough to take down the ghost. But still, they didn't back down or run. They stood tall and chose to fight, trying their best to win this fight despite the odds.

It was inspirational. He was still somewhat shivering, clearly afraid of the pokemon as it popped out of the device once more, the red light flashing. But he couldn't just standby and let them do all the work. After all, he was the strongest of them. Heck, possibly even as strong as the honedge. He stood tall, focusing before taking off towards the angry spirit. Before it could swing to launch an attack on the human who had tried again to capture it, flames collected around his fist, which was pulled up. As he closed in, pulling between a small opening in the crowd of attacking pokemon, he launched his attack, his fist bashing against the steel of the blade.

The honedge was knocked back, and severely damaged by the flaming attack. He was strong, but he wasn't dumb. Despite not wanting to admit it, the fighting type having that move known and being that tough was a battle changer. There was no way he could win this fight now. With a swift gesture, his cloth reached out to grasp the hilt, his body phasing it's body to become intangible, and therefore unable to be attacked or captured by these meddling fools. He quickly moved, taking the hilt and going straight into the wall, phasing through it to get to a tunnel nearby in order to have a completely guaranteed escape. Unless these pokemon somehow knew how to crash through walls and would risk the instability of the mountains caverns.

The machop released a breathe he didn't know he was holding, but the shaking didn't stop. Sure, the ghost was gone, but now there were a bunch of pokemon and a human with a device that could apparently absorb pokemon, if temporarily. He wasn't wanting to test the bounds of such and object, and immediately took off full speed down the tunnel from where the group had come. He didn't speak a word, and wouldn't hear anything they said even if they tried to calm him down.

Shadow jerked her head to the sound of Pyre's shriek, just in time to see the Honedge be released from the pokeball. She was about to rummage through her bag for another pokeball when the Machop that had been a bystander all this time came forth and attacked the ghost sword that was about to kill them. Apparently it didn't want to fight anymore, for it simply grabbed its scabbard and floated through the tunnel wall. As for the Machop? He ran, leaving Shadow alone with her Pokemon.

She let out a sigh of relief at that. "Guess it's gonna leave us alone now," she said in a hushed whisper as she looked over at Hubris, "You doing okay?" The Piplup chirped and nodded as the rest of her Pokemon came towards her, clearly on edge while picking up the items she dropped in a haste. She glanced at each and every one of them, thankful they had made it unscathed. "That was...pretty stupid of me, huh?" she asked. There were collective noises and she sighed. "Well it's over now. So..."

Then she remembered why she came here in the first place. "Come on, we got some metal to find," she said as she went to the pickaxe she dropped in a panic. She hefted it up and stared at her remaining Pokemon. "Pyre, can you light the way again?" The Litwick made a noise of affirmation as she led the way, though this time she was much closer to Shadow. In fact, all her Pokemon were crowded around her as they walked, keeping close to her in case anything else popped out within this tunnel. Hopefully they would find a metal vein soon so they could get out of there unscathed. Well, less unscathed then they were now.

As Shadow and her team headed further down the tunnel, the other two pokemon having dispersed and left them to continue, they'd hear trouble long before they would see it. The squeaks would echo, two distinct noises able to be heard in different tones, likely marking them as separate species. Even as she checked the walls, trying to find a vein of metal to claim and bring back to Omega's camp, she'd be forced to get closer to the noises if she wanted to achieve her goal.

Once they were in range of sight, she'd find that there were actually three pokemon - one of which seeming quite content to stay quiet, simply spinning slightly and rocking from foot to foot in an almost daze like fashion. The little pink and white furred bear really was an odd pokemon, and just seemed to be there out of pure coincidence more that anything else. It was hard to tell whether she'd noticed their approach or not, as her demeanor was absolutely nonchalant.

The other two, however, were entirely too locked in their own heads to possibly notice their approach, unless they spoke up or made reasonable noise to attract their attention. Even the slightest whisper would set them off, but if they kept quiet, the two would remain actively engaged with each other. It was hard for her pokemon to make out what they were saying, but a couple word drops about 'metal' and 'collection' would likely give away the cause of their argument. Matched, of course, with the vein of metal shining against the wall behind the trio.

It seemed like forever that they wandered the tunnel, but eventually they heard the sound of more Pokemon up ahead. "Stay close to me," Shadow said as they began to creep towards the source of the noise. Her Pokemon kept quiet as they followed, hoping that nothing bad will appear.

It was hard to tell in the darkness, but there seemed to be quite a few Pokemon that were talking. They paused, just as Pyre's light caught the three Pokemon in the vicinity. "...What Pokemon are they?" Shadow murmured as she rummaged through her bag and pulled out her pokedex. She then began to promptly scan all three of them, her curiosity piqued.

Truthfully, her Pokemon were still on edge after the Honedge encounter and proceeded to all hide behind Shadow. They didn't want to say anything that might aggravate them, nor could they find the words that would seem peaceful. From what the group could hear, they were talking about metal, something that they needed. Were these Pokemon guarding it? That would be bad.
