Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

Ben Shepherd | Native | Age 15

It was unknown what the fletchling was worried about when Birdy heard her chirp nervously. The wingull looked up to see what she was looking at and spotted another bird in the sky. Something pudgier then the two birds on Ben’s shoulder. It was gray and white and coming right for them. The starly was screeching at the tiny robin, asking what she was doing. Birdy almost responded but wanted to see where this would be going.

Ben stopped in his tracks as the grey bird flew before them. He didn’t know what it was yelling about but beside him, Lucille seemed to be worried. She didn’t know if the bird was going to attack and there wasn’t much she could do from down there. The squirtle in the boy’s arms was also nervous. He knew something wasn’t right with the fletchling. She was a spy sent by the slowpoke along with this starly. The young turtle withdrew his head into his shell to avoid having his eyes pecked out.

Suddenly as the angry starly appeared to be there to retrieve the fletchling, the tiny robin threw them under the wagon. She claimed that they were bullying her as she tried to flee the scene. This caused the starly to fill with rage and attempt to attack Ben. The boy was so confused by everything that was happening that he wasn’t prepared for the quick attack to his face. He stumbled backwards but avoided getting knocked over as the bird rushed into him.

“Hey, wait a second!” he shouted as he kept his grip on the squirtle. Lucille seemed to be watching anxiously, wishing she could do something. Birdy immediately flew off the shoulders of the boy and positioned herself where she could aim to attack the starly. All these birds showing up and either claiming or attacking her human. They needed to all be taught a lesson. Didn’t they know they who they were messing with?

Immediately she growled at the starly. “Your sister is the one bothering us! The two of you need to take your feathers and head south for the winter cause I’m about to bring the storm!” she crowed. The wingull opened her mouth to fire off a blast of water at the starly. She didn’t care if it was stronger than her, she didn’t appreciate false claims or random attacks on innocent people.

The big below wanted to help so badly but from where she was, the starly was out of reach. She nudged Ben to give her a look. The boy, who was just attacked in the face looked down at his pig who was trying to tell him something. He didn’t know what she was getting at so he bent down to see what she wanted. “What’cha got for me, girl?” he asked.

With the boy down low, she hopped up on him and aimed to use him as a means to jump into the air toward the starly. The tepig was aiming to tackle and knock the bird to the ground if she could. They weren’t strong enough to win this fight alone but perhaps they could work together. “Sorry to have to do this to you, but you can’t just go around attacking people without reason!” she snarled at the grey bird.

Ben was just lost entirely. He knew why his pokemon were defending him but he didn’t know why he was being attacked. If there was a way to end this without further violence he’d prefer it but for now it didn’t seem like there was anything he could do. Squirtle remain tucked into his shell.

Starly didn't seem particularly reasonable in the moment, and one could guess she was having a bad case of tunnel vision right now. Starly certainly didn't notice the cowering behavior of Squirtle, or even Squirtle at all. She noticed Ben, and maybe Birdy. Nevertheless, Starly crowed a victory for getting one up on the human that thought he could bully her little sister, almost knocking over the human onto his behind. Though, Starly was narrowing her eyes again when Birdy moved to get into an ideal attack position.

Hearing Starly's words, she began to feel vaguely sheepish. Admittedly.... She recognized her sister had a tendency to do just about anything to get what she wanted. She was always running away and weaving lies to get away. Though, any chance at diplomacy was washed away with Birdy's water gun. The forceful stream of water hit Starly, and almost knocked her from the air, but now her feathers were wet and little heavier.... But she managed to keep airborne. Starly seemed even less interested in talking things out now. She flapped her wings more furious, flicking water droplets everywhere, trying to dry herself out a little before attacking again.

However, before she could attack again, something unexpected happened. Lucille used Ben as a springboard to jump into the air, much to the audible shock of Starly. Lucille successfully tackled Starly to the ground, and they hit the ground with a thud. Starly glared at Lucille, before forcing herself back onto her feet. "(I was defending my family.... And okay, maybe I was hasty, but now it's too late for words, thanks to your little friend over there!)" Starly screeched, with a sharp head jerk in Birdy's direction. Then without any further words, Starly rushed forward at Lucille, one of her wings glowing to strike at Lucille from the side.

This was not good. This was not going to end well. The squirtle was shaking in his shell. Did he really escape one danger only to be tossed into another. He knew freedom would be too good to be true. He wanted no part of this fight and for now, he’d remain withdrawn.

Ben wanted to just run, but the stubborn little wingull had started something they were going to have to finish. He saw no reason that this wild starly would stop attacking. The boy didn’t want his pokemon to fight but if they had to then so be it. He also refused to toss a pokeball, even if it meant ending the fight. The boy didn’t like catching pokemon against their will and had no intentions to do so.

For the wingull this was going great, she couldn’t wait to show that fletchling up and with it running away like a coward, she was going to have to spank its sister. This starly was asking for trouble and she didn’t care about the age difference. Birdy took advantage of the bird focusing on the pig. She dove straight in with her wing collecting dark energy as she attempted to strike the starly with a knock off. “This ought to teach you about jumping to conclusions!”

Whether or not the wingull’s attack landed, the pig could see the starly coming straight for with its wing ready to attack. The pig saw to dodge but with all the tall grass, she felt it was difficult to maneuver through. The pig took the attack directly and it hurt. She hated battling but when under attack, she had to defend herself. The bird could have been dealt with differently but had to do something to protect her group.

She could feel a heat welling up inside her. The tepig felt a spark generate in front of her as she held her mouth open. The flame that began burning was like a torch ready to burst forward on command. Lucille aimed for the bird and when she had the opportunity, she released a large burst of fire that would surely burn up the starly if it made contact. The flames would set fire to the grassy field around them either way and the tepig would have exhausted herself from the attack.

After attacking Lucille with her wing, Starly had returned to the sky, flapping her wings intensely with an equally intense look in her eyes. Except, as soon as she returned, Birdy had struck her with her wing. It knocked Starly back onto the ground again, as the attack had struck her face and she felt a headache coming on from the attack. Starly was able to look over at Lucille just in time to see the flames beginning to roar. Starly's eyes widened as fear took the place of indignant anger. "(P-Please....)" She whined, but it was too late as Lucille had already launched the attack. The flames surged towards Starly, catching dry grass on fire as it moved. The fire attack struck Starly, and pushed her across, though there was the slight problem of the field being on fire now.

If they cared to look, from afar Starly would most certainly be smoking. Lucille's attack was one of the more powerful fire-type moves out there, after all. If they chose to look closer, they'd see much of Starly's feathers had been burnt off, and the smell of burning flesh was reaching up into the air. Starly certainly wasn't conscious anymore, and wasn't moving even a little bit. Even if she got back up, she'd probably have difficulties flying with her burnt feathers. If anyone actually bothered to check if Starly was even still alive, they'd find she was.... Barely. She probably didn't have a great chance of survival now, as she certainly wasn't in any shape to get up and get somewhere safe to rest. The only one they knew that might be concerned enough to help had flown off, having thrown Ben and his pokemon under the bus in favor of fleeing from the bird Lucille had just cooked.

The tepig lied there, with her energy drained. She couldn’t summon another spark if she tried. Seeing that she was completely finished with this entire adventure, Ben rushed over to her side. This is not what he wanted at all. He had seen this attack before and the last time she destroyed a ghosts form with it. As timid as Lucille was, she could have a temper at times and it would result in the destruction of anything that stood in her path.

“Why’d ya go an do that, girl?” he asked somberly.

The pig has passed out needing to rest to regain her strength. Birdy was flying around the area, putting out the flames with her water gun. She didn’t need the group getting surrounded by fire. “That was one hell of an attack!” she said enthusiastically.

Hearing the bird’s excitement, the turtle popped his head out of his shell. He looked around and saw all the burnt grass and the tepig who was exhausted from doing it. “W-what happened?” he asked weakly.

Landing on Ben’s shoulder as the squirtle’s eyes followed the bird, she explained. “Lucy here just showed that starly who’s boss. Though, I helped of course,” the wingull boasted.

Turning back to see the results, the squirtle spotted the burned bird lying in the grass, looking just near death. It was a shame that things had to go this way and he didn’t think it was right to just leave it there. The turtle wiggled out of Ben’s arms, rushing over to the near dead bird. “We c-can’t just leave her here,” he said.

Birdy flapped her wings from the boy’s shoulder. “Of course we can, it’s easy! The boy will just turn and walk away and we follow after,” explained the wingull.

Squirtle had learned in this past few hours that Birdy was not the reasonable one. Lucille had seemed to be the one who wanted to do the right thing and was the voice of reason. Though she made a bad call this time and it had a negative effect on her. The young turtle wished he could help the bird.

Ben returned the exhausted tepig to her ball and walked over to the squirtle who was standing over the unconscious bird. “I’m sorry lil guy, but didn make it,” he said, placing his hand on the reptile’s head. The squirtle flinched slightly but didn’t withdraw. He didn’t bother looking back at the human but instead just pointed to the bird.

The boy took a closer look at the starly. “She still breathin?” he asked himself. "I know she was tryin tah poke my eyes out an all but what would Ma think if I just left a poor bird alone like this?” The boy pulled out a blanket and wrapped the bird in it. The squirtle sprayed a light water gun on her to soothe the burns, but it was lightly that wouldn’t do much. “Let’s see if we can fix ya up at home. That is...if you make it that far.”

Squirtle was pleased to see that Ben was taking responsibility for the situation. It was a horrible thing that it wound up like this and perhaps it never would have if the wingull wasn’t so quick to battle but things could still be made right if they could help this starly out and eventually set it free once recovered.

Ben allowed the squirtle to climb into his bag and be carried the rest of the way. Birdy was a bit upset that they were saving this thing that tried to kill them. She couldn’t understand why they would. For now she’d just roll with it but if it woke up suddenly and tried to attack again, she’d finish it off. She didn’t care how they felt. If Ben would be allowed to, he’d head home and try to tend to this bird.
