Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

This battle is taking place northeast of Crater, on the beach at the bay. Wingulls caw up above and from further up the beach, but they know better than to interfere in what is happening on this battlefield. The ground is loose and sandy, and the low ocean waves come calmly in, sink back out, and repeat. The sand has been cleared of any shells and other debris. Feel free to use your environment to your advantage.Good luck, combatants! The deadline for this round is June 13th.

A Challenge
Dark boots pressed into the soft sands of the beach, the waves gently pushing in and out. The air was thick with the salted moisture evaporating from the sea. This scene was not much different from the norm of 'home', albeit cooler and more temperate than the desert beach. A clear sky shined above, giving to a good day for people to be out. And ideal weather for the battle, without any water or ice pokemon to call on. Up ahead a few people were gathered to watch the match, and were waiting on the competitors to arrive.

She continued her confident stride, wondering who this 'Ridley' she was facing was. Given the little turnout, she assumed he was just as mysterious to the crowd as she was. Perhaps less so, given her own distance from this place. Without having met him or heard of him, there was only so much she could assume. She was apparently the first to arrive, taking her place on the mock battlefield. The crowd was gathered to her left, and the ocean splashed to her right.

The woman had contemplated who to enter for the first round of this tournament. Though winning was the preference, she was ultimately here so her pokemon could get further experience in battle - and to network, of course. It helped provide more opportunity for her and her pokemon if she was able to show great prowess as a trainer, but that meant her team needed to be up to speed as well. She debated whether she should use the more dependable, strong of her team, or the one who needed the most experience.

Dropping the bag from her shoulder onto her arm, she pulled out the pokeball she required. Ultimately, this was the very first round of the tournament. While there were chances that choosing the least experienced pokemon would cost her the battle, the odds were more against her if she brought him out later in the tournament. No, he needed to come out for this first match. And hopefully he would win, providing the others the opportunity to battle as well and gain more knowledge and experience in battle.

She activated the ball, the light flashing and causing the pokemon to form on the beach. Two small feet pressed into the sands, the weasel-like pokemon throwing up his arms as he looked around. Each escape from that dastardly device was similar. The sands and normally the waves. It usually followed that they'd be fighting, apparently getting stronger. He wasn't completely sure whether he believed that or not, but that was what the others under her control told him. They had more faith in her than he did. He wouldn't be persuaded so easily, but he couldn't deny that she was a capable fighter, after having bested him. Humans were usually much weaker and filled with fear.

There were... other humans. And no pokemon. The mienfoo spun around at the human, the one who controlled him, with a confrontational expression. "Why have you brought me out here, in front of all these humans? He asked the question, knowing full well the human didn't understand a word. He hoped that she would bring out another to translate, to explain what was going on. But she only stared, thoughtful and studious in the way that she did, simply watching and giving no answer.

He considered running, but with that device in her hands he knew he wouldn't get anywhere. Well, he wouldn't do anything until she moved first. So they simply stared at each other, as the woman waited on her opponent to arrive.

This was...exactly what he caught Scy for, correct? She was a far more capable warrior, and far more willing, than his other Pokemon. Still, even though she showed no signs of discontent while they walked, Ridley still felt the need to explain to her what they were going to do in this tournament. He was pretty sure she understood a single word, "fight", whereupon she raised her claws up and narrowed her eyes, starting to move a little less lethargically.

He supposed that was a success?

Free nor Sunny were around, he had to return them, lest the battle be called void and null, and thus scratched desperately at his neck as he walked. Occasionally, Scy would look over and blink in confusion, but as he didn't bleed too much, decided to continue on in her determination.

Momentarily, Ridley paused, the beach really was beautiful. He hoped he wouldn't have to work away from here when he nailed down whatever job he wanted. And then he wrenched himself back into reality as his opponent released her Pokemon. Seeing as his was already out, she stepped forward with a slight gleam in her eyes. Barely anybody was around, and those that were here were those that rested with Ridley. He couldn't let them down.

"H-hello!" He called across the beach, "I ho-hope we have a...have a good m-match!"

An Interesting Match-up
It was quite easy to see her opponent once they arrived. There were a few in the crowd who'd brought small pokemon with them, but nothing stood out as brilliantly as the large green insectoid. It had marvelous, long blades, shaped almost like... something she couldn't quite place the name of. The pokemon had two wings that fluttered as it hovered closer to them, their approach taking her eyes off the little fighter. If this was the pokemon he was up against, they would need to be at their best. Unfortunate, considering their relationship was... strained.

The young man spoke, his words quite lacking. He seemed to stutter a bit, and his tone didn't inspire confidence. She supposed that was a positive, though she couldn't underestimate this opponent. It could be a facade, or his pokemon could be singularly strong. Either way, she needed to keep her focus. She hoped the weasel would be intelligent enough to listen to her as she built a strategy and tried to help the pokemon win this battle. Those blades could spell trouble, so it was important that they be in sync. Despite the creature not liking her, he at least respected her strength.

Trocar was possibly more aggravated that she wasn't even paying attention to him now. If being further aggravated was even a possibility at this point. But he was admittedly curious about what she was looking at. He turned his head to take a look and -- "WHAT IN THE LOVE OF LEGENDARIES!" He hop and turned, facing the scyther who was approaching. He didn't hiss, but he took his standard battle pose. His arms were up with his knees bent, staring at the large bug. What was that thing doing here? Was this why she'd wanted him out? How did she know it would be here?

Clearly, she must have made an enemy or something. What a surprise. Still, with the humans on three sides and only the ocean to his open side, he wasn't exactly sure how to escape from this situation. He took a deep breath. Well, he was more of a fighter than a runner anyway. He'd break this bug down and get through, carving his way out with his fists if he could. Or so he'd like, but he knew the woman would use that device to pull him back before he'd get anywhere. At least he could take his frustration out on the scyther.

And after he was done with her? He'd move on the the woman again, continuing their ever-running battle.

Trocar appeared to be quite bothered and ready to battle. Good. He tended to be a creature that was driven to fight, if less so than Caliper. Still, she was glad to have pokemon so ready and willing to battle. It was important they continued to battle and train to become strong. They all needed to become strong if she was to achieve her goals. And as their trainer, her goals were their goals. "Hello. Likewise. May we have an invigorating and enriching battle. Let us see which of our pokemon will be victorious, shall we?" She glanced back at the mienfoo, who appeared to be studying his opponent. That was an improvement to his normal strategy of rushing in. It seemed he had been learning since meeting her. Just as she expected.

Assuming he didn't have any objections, she would start the match. "Let us begin. I will take the first move, if you don't mind." She bowed her head slightly and gave Ridley a chance to respond. If he didn't she would move forward. "Trocar, meditate." The fighting-type was insulted that she dare issue a command. But, that was what he was going to do anyway. He wasn't doing it for her, he was doing it for himself. He breathed deeply, concentrated and bringing peace and calm to his mind for the fight ahead. But he didn't stop. He wanted to start off right, pushing himself to dash in for an attack. The mienfoo charged forward and leaped, attempting to crash his body into the scyther's in a pound attack.
