Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

This battle is taking place south of Crater, in the Lion's Plains. The grass is green and tall, a warm wind is blowing, and the wild Pokemon have been shooed away, leaving the area empty and ripe for a fair, uninterrupted battle. Feel free to use your environment to your advantage. Good luck, combatants! The deadline for this round is July 1st.

Okay, deep breaths. In through the nose, and out through the mouth... This will be fine. Everything will be fine.

Blue kept trying to reassure herself as she walked through the area, trying to find where the battle would be taking place. To be honest, she was still surprised she was here in the first place... She both felt nervous about winning and proud about how well Sasha and Mary were holding up. The pokemon they both fought terrified her. Hopefully this one wouldn't be as nerve-wracking... Then again, it was later in the Tournie with probably stronger pokemon.

Sasha was having a hay day in the grass, laughing wildly as she rolled around. Holy hell, she had never seen so much grass! It was great! The sheep began to chomp on the grass. She adored the taste of grass, even more than meat (although she'd never admit it). It was refreshing to eat so much of it again.

Mary simply laughed and walked along the mareep's side, amused by her antics. Her nervousness about the next match was settling, although it still remained strong. She knew Sasha was going to fight, and she didn't know how to feel about that. But... This was the girl who took two brave birds in a row.

When the group finally reached the battlefield, Blue's nervousness began to form again. She wondered where the other person was, but she tried not to allow her negative thoughts to infest her brain... Maybe she was just early? Yes, that could be it... But what if she wasn't?

Ben Shepherd | Native | Age 15

Arriving to the battlefield, Ben was extremely nervous. The boy had not expected to make it this far, let alone with his wingull. The bird often did what it wanted and even though he had been working with her, she was still a loose cannon. Lucille on the other hand did more of what Ben told her but she was cowardly. There were moments where she pulled through but it was still risky having her go for the battle, especially when she didn't know a lot of techniques.

Seeing a young girl waiting opposite of him, he figured she'd be his opponent. She seemed younger or possibly the same age but the girl was rather short. By her side was the pokemon she appeared to be planning to use for this fight. It was a mareep of all things. Ben knew a lot about them but the main thing that he was concerned about was their typing. The sheep could generate electricity.

This was going to be his weakness if he sent out Birdy. The wingull was extremely vulnerable to electricity and that meant she would go down really quick. Even if she knew more tricks in combat, it would still be too risky. He decided Lucille would be his only chance. Even if there was a low chance he'd win, he wanted to at least give the pig a chance.

Ben came closer so that he could be in speaking range to the girl. "Howdy, name's Ben and this here's Lucille," he said with an upbeat tone. "We'll be y'all's opponent."

The tepig came from behind Ben as she heard her name being said. Was she being expected to fight? In this tall grass? She could barely see through it and she'd be going up against this rather big sheep. It seemed well toned and angrier than the ones she was used to seeing on the farm. The pig was in trouble if this one happen to give off a paralyzing static like some of the others did.

"Ladies first, whenever ya'll's ready," the boy said as he put some distance between him and the pokemon so they'd have room to battle. Lucille was shaking nervously as she looked up at the mareep.

@Shasyu

Blue started to smile awkwardly as a young boy approached her. Okay... So this was her opponent, okay! It was strange to see such a young kid this far in the Tournie. But then again, was she any better? Heck, she looked like a 12-year-old.

Her smile widened as he introduced himself and his pokemon. She spotted the relief, and let out a small 'aww.' It was a cute little thing... Oh, should she introduce herself? It'd be rude not to. "Oh, hi! I'm Blue, and this is Sasha." She greeted, pointing to the mareep as she introduced her. The sheep perked up at the sound of her name, and she stepped forwards. A little bit of grass was still in her mouth.

She eyed the tepig with somewhat confused eyes. This was she was fighting? She expected something scarier after that giant two-headed bird. The pokemon looked rather young as well. Still... An opponent was an opponent. Just don't kill her.

Blue and Mary backed up slightly to make more room for the two pokemon. When Ben offered for Sasha to go first, the girl nodded in thanks. But before she could signal the sheep that it was good, she was already off.

The mareep started to run through the tall grass and towards the fire pokemon, electricity flying off her wool. She didn't tackle Lucille head-on, though. Rather, Sasha started to run past her. But when she came close to the tepig's side, she released a shocking array of sparks from her wool.

Standing unprepared for the battle, Lucille watched to see what the mareep was going to do. The pig wondered if she would be able to use the tall grass to hide or evade but this sheep was taller then she was. It was likely that the mareep could see her better then the tepig could see the sheep from her height.

Right away the sheep sprinted at the tepig with electricity charging from her wool. The pig was immobilized by fear as the thunder shock struck her. She didn't like the way it felt. Lucille felt static before but taking on a full jolt of electricity was painful.

First Lucilled aimed to whack the mareep with her tail as a distraction. She then ran through the grass trying to go out of sight of Sasha. She ran around the back of the sheep, aiming to tackle her from behind. Lucille only hoped she could land a blow without feeling the effects of the static. Ben was nervous seeing that the pig took the thunder shock directly. The pig wasn't going to make it at this rate, if she didn't try to evade.

@Shasyu

The sheep quickly skidded to a halt, turning herself in order to strike again. When she had her gaze back on the tepig, a little tail was wagging in her face. Sasha raised an eyebrow in confusion, letting her guard down for a few seconds. Suddenly, the small pig vanished into the grass. She flinched up, and tried to chase after her opponent.

She paused for a second, turning her head to see which direction the fire pokemon went in. But, before she could give chase, she felt something ram into her side. Sasha yelped in surprise, and her wool started to expand slightly, releasing a few stray sparks. The mareep decided to back up slightly from the pig, biting down on her teeth before releasing even stronger sparks at the tepig. She then raised her head, and stood her ground.

Mary had done this trick before, and that seemed to work the first time. Sasha did her best to look like she was stumbling slightly, making herself look like a weak target. If Lucille were to take the bait and try to attack her again, Sasha would immediately brace herself and tackle the other with some harsh force.

Blue tried to keep herself calm during the starting match. Everything would be okay, right? Nothing too bad could happen. Sasha knew she wasn't going for a kill, as far as she was concerned. Still, Blue couldn't help but feel afraid that the small pokemon didn't know that. It seemed like a young pokemon, but still... If they got this far into the Tournie...

Blue started to tug at her jacket sleeves as she shared a few awkward looks with Mary.

Having landed the blow, the tepig rushed back into the grass. She wanted to stay out of sight and if that worked then she could last a bit longer. But the piglet was unfortunate. The brush of static from the sheep's wool was taking effect. Her muscles were tightening up and the feeling in her body was gone. The pig fell to the ground, still hidden in the grass. If the mareep looked hard enough, she'd find the tepig lying on her side, struggling to get up.

Ben was extremely concerned at this point. Sure he was proud of Lucille for getting at least one hit in, but the cost was too high. His tepig was now paralyzed and unable to attack. She couldn't even pull through enough to attack. Ben didn't know what to do. He wanted to call the fight, but technically she hadn't taken enough damage for him to be worried about her health.

The boy was sure Lucille would eventually pull through. As long as she remained quiet and kept hidden, then perhaps she could find the strength to attack even with the static charging through her body. The mareep was frightening and he didn't if she would hold back.

Sasha sighed as she realized her attacks didn't hit the tepig, nor did she come closer so that the mareep could attack again. Instead, her opponent started to flee. She growled, and quickly gave chase. Her hooves stomped down on a few tall blades of grass, flattening them into the dirt.

She had her eyes narrowed as she pushed through the grass, trying to find where the smaller pokemon went. Damn it, stupid tall grass! Why must you be so delicious yet so annoying!?

Suddenly, the contrasting orange from the green battlefield caught her eye. She blinked, and suddenly faced that direction. Built up energy suddenly burst, prompting the electric type to start charging at the tepig and trying to ram into her. While she was attacking, she briefly forgot that this was a friendly match, and put in more force into her attack than intended.

Blue gulped as Sasha ran through the grass, probably looking to hunt down the poor fire piglet. Oh Arceus please don't overdo it. A part of her was growing worried about Sasha accidentally killing the boy's pokemon. But at the same time, she was terribly afraid of the pig having some move that would injure or even kill Sasha. She tried to take deep breaths, and the grip around her sleeves tightened.

Ben was panicking. The pig was in trouble and she couldn't move. He couldn't even see her. The grass was covering everything and all he could see was the sheep dashing through the grass to slam her target.

Did the sheep really want to kill the tepig so bad? Wasn't this supposed to be a friendly match? Why would she try and crush his young piglet to death? Ben knew it would be a good idea to call it now, but he was stuck, trying to spot the pig.

Perhaps giving her a few more seconds to get up? Maybe she still had a chance. Why was the boy being so dumb? Forfeit the match already!

Lying there in the grass, unable to move, the tepig was tearing. She had never been so out of control of her own body. She had always been able to run when afraid but this was something else. She understood this was some kind of friendly competition but she was so clearly outmatched, it was painful to try and tank the hits from the mareep.

As she lied there with her eye rolling up to see what was coming toward her, she hoped it was Ben to return her to her ball or pick her up and carry her home but no. It was that mareep with its grumpy looking face. She charged over and rammed Lucille while she was down. The Tepig went rolling further into the field, squealing in pain. She still couldn't move.

Sasha couldn't help but wince at the squealing from the younger pokemon. Oooh Arceus, did she break her? As much as she was into this competition and such, she did not exactly want anyone to get freaking murdered. Because one, these were probably all decent and nice pokemon who don't mean any harm. Two, the humans would be pissed at her if she actually succeeded in killing anyone, and that was something she did not want to sit through. Plus, this kid didn't seem much older than Pyro.

The mareep sighed, and forced herself to pause her attacks. Okay, yeah, she was done with this. Another attack would probably kill, or at least bring the tepig close to it... Ack, hopefully the human won't be too annoyed at her. Then again, was the human ever really annoyed?.. Eh, whatever.

Sasha took a deep breath, and trotted over towards where the other pokemon was laying. It didn't take much, considering her squealing. The mareep nodded, and sat awkwardly near the tepig... Fuck. She forgot how much she could do when given the chance. "(U-Uh... Sorry, kid. Got a bit carried away. You doing alright?)"

... So what the fuck was she supposed to do now? Just sit here and wait, maybe? Hopefully the pokemon's human had the wits to realize that she was pretty injured and close to fainting. Otherwise she'd have to have a talk with that human.

The tepig cringed as the sheep approached her. She thought she was going to finish her off. She shut her eyes as Sasha looked down at her. Lucille shut her eyes and was ready to be done for. She thought of a million ways to die over the years but being zapped by a sheep was not one of them. They were so fluffy and nice most of the time. So why now? why here?

The real shock came from the apology that left the mareep. She was sorry? Lucille opened her eyes to look up at the sheep. For whatever reason, in that moment she was able to move her limbs again. There was still a tingling feeling jolting through her but it wasn't enough to keep her down. The tepig rose to her hooves, opposite Sasha. "Y-you're pretty tough," she muttered. "I wish I could be like you so strong and brave."

Lucille couldn't look Sasha in the eyes as she spoke. "I'm just a cowardly fragile runt. I barely did anything and this was my first real battle," she continued sulking. "You're different from the other mareep I know. They're all small and weak like me. But you look like you've seen some things," she chuckled lightly.

The tepig was scared but mareep didn't seem so hostile anymore. Lucille didn't feel threatened but she knew she had lost this battle. Ben came rushing over to make sure that the pig was alright. There was no way he could let her go on. "Lucille? You aw'right girl?" he asked, leaning down to pick her up.

The pig squealed happily, to reassure her trainer. He looked really concerned and she could tell he was worried about her. "Come on, ain't no fight worth losin' ya," he said holding her in a hug. "I quit y'all!" he shouted so that the spectators and judge could hear, as well as Blue. "You win," he said smiling to the girl who was his opponent.

Sasha awkwardly laughed at her opponent's words. Sure, they were true, but she didn't exactly expect them to be said now. But she took pride in the fact that she was strong, and she only wanted to build on that fact. So the tepig's comment made her puff out her chest in pride. She didn't exactly feel comfortable with hearing the pig deprecate herself, though. The mareep looked down at her, and nodded.

"(Listen, if you want to get strong, you gotta train. You don't get anywhere by just sitting down and expecting improvement. And hey, don't be too hard on yourself. Like you said, I've seen some shit and this is your first battle.)" Sasha explained, adding in a small smile. When she saw the pokemon's human running towards them, she merely sighed and glanced back to Lucille. "(Well, good luck out there. Maybe we'll see each other again.)" She added before turning her head in the direction of her own human, who was running over as well. Mary was the first of the two to reach her, though.

"(You two alright?... Is she alright?)" Mary jerked her head in the pokemon in the other human's arms, worry clear on her face. Sasha slowly nodded in response. "(... I... Think so?)"

Blue looked fairly shaken up by the whole match, even more so after looking at the small tepig. Ooooh god. The girl didn't really even notice that Sasha had won the match, as she was too focused on her wild panicked thoughts and running apologies. "... I'm so sorry, oh my lord. Is she okay? I'm sorry, Sasha is usually like this and I should have known... Aaack, sorry!" She kept going on for a bit, until she realized that she should probably stop. Blue awkwardly nodded a final goodbye with a small, "See ya." She then looked down to her pokemon and signaled them to follow her. She really wanted to leave so she could calm down.
