Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new universe, this new world, and give it purpose. (Our site is best viewed in Firefox or Chrome.)

Events

The biggest event of the
season- of the year, even- is the Anniversary Fair! We also have a lore contest for the month of November, and our plot events are still going strong.

Season

Autumn will be here until
December. All of Terrene is cooling by degrees; those in Ashfield scarcely notice because it never truly gets cold there, though they will notice the decreased rains and humidity. Winds pick up, particularly in the southern areas. Ghost types are more common this season.

Her error in paths was hardly her fault in this strange terrain, with no clear paths. However, it would surely cost her some time, causing her trip to last longer than planned, as she backtracked to try and find where she went wrong. It would require focus and patience to find the wrong turn, but thankfully this was not like the plains or the forest. The mountains were a bit easier to navigate, as the altitude gave her a better view of the possible paths and where they led.

Once she got back and found the correct path she needed to continue on her journey to the camp, it would be about afternoon, the sun shining high above her. It beat down at the peak of heat for the day, her height up in the mountains helping as the winds were cooler and a bit more consistent than the bottom earth had been in the previous area she'd traversed. The conflicting forces would actually create a likely comfortable temperature for the group to hike in.

Though luckily, the woman and her pokemon would find that the rest of their days travels would not only be successful, but uneventful. The path she walked on was free of pokemon and humans alike leaving them to hike in peace. Eventually, as the hours rolled on, the sun would start to descend once more, the sunset colors painting the sky across the horizon. An empty but small cove would come up as the final inches of sunlight started to disappear, which could be suitable to camp if she wished. Or, she could continue a bit further to try and make up for lost time.

((egg post 2))

Naka had had the idea to climb to a high place to look over the potential paths, though she left the egg below, trusting Scyther's good judgement and Shroomish's ferocity to look after it. It would throw her off balance with its weight shifting in her backpack if she took it with her. After an arduous and potentially dangerous climb, a lot of squinting, and careful consideration, she decided on a path to head down and hope it was the right one. It looked fairly promising, just barely wide enough for a wagon to get through comfortably.

Shroomish felt quite energetic today. He'd had plenty of sleep, the mountain air felt crisp on the inhale, and he felt like he could see the end of the world when he looked in the general direction of the ocean. It was fantastically big, and he tried his best to burn the view into his memory. The other direction was equally fascinating- he could just barely see the grass in the plains as it began to wilt for the year, creating a brown and green patchwork far below. He didn't say a word, but it was clear that he was impressed.

Stunky rubbed up against her younger traveling companion, similarly to what quadrupedal feline pokemon did with things they liked, with a smile that bordered on genuine. "//Letting our guard down, are we?//" she teased, pausing to admire the sights herself. She'd never seen the ocean either, and it actually terrified her. So much water shouldn't be allowed to sit in one place. The plains, on the other hand, looked like home, what with its uneven stripes. It reminded her a bit of the messy, patchy fur and distinct stripe her own species was most identifiable by.

Shroomish, exactly as Stunky had predicted, stiffened and tried very hard to look gruff and serious. "//No, not at all,//" he replied, fixing Stunky with an angry pout. "//I have to protect you nutjobs. Well, Scyther's not a nutjob, but she's hurt.//"

Stunky put a paw to her chest in mock offense just as Scyther's laugh actually offended her. "//You are odd, Stunky,//" the bug chuckled. "//Or maybe you're brave. There's a fine line there.//" Stunky lifted her tail, and Scyther promptly apologized.

Naka had a decent smirk at the exchange between her pokemon. She sometimes wished she could understand them, which surprised her- she had really just seen them as underlings at first, even back when Shroomish was her only helper who she probably would have died without. They felt human, for lack of a better word, now, and even if that meant meant thinking about how Stunky would probably slander her to every pokemon she came across, it was a pleasant realization. Now that she thought about it, the stinky little demon (wow, that was more literal than she'd meant it to be) did seem to like her significantly more than when she'd first been captured.

The group, in high spirits, continued walking, Naka checking her compass every so often (they seemed to be heading the right direction this time), until the sun set, and coincidentally, a snug little alcove happened to present itself at that time. Naka figured that, even if Omega's camp was too far away to make it to in one more day, she could go a night without food. It would be unpleasant, sure, but... Actually, very unpleasant. She needed to be prepared if she was going to stop here. Once they were full and the pokemon were asleep, Scyther and Stunky were stowed in their pokeballs, and Naka woke Shroomish to accompany her. She would go hunting for berries, clambering over several crags in search of any form of edible shrubbery. Climbing was made somewhat difficult by the weight of both Shroomish and the egg in her backpack- neither of them could climb themselves or be condensed into a smaller and lighter form.

Searching around in the dark wasn't ideal, the rocks and gravel around surely not providing any help to the young woman's movement around the rocky terrain. If the sun had remained in the sky, it would have been simple enough given the good views, but alas this was not the case this time around. Luckily, there were no creatures prowling to provide any sort of disturbance or danger as she hunted for food, at least nothing willing to come out at her approach.

Eventually, her search would prove somewhat fruitful. It wasn't much, but a stubborn little bush would appear to her, though tough to see. Though the actual bush itself was rather scraggly and well-fitted to the rough environment around it, there were a few well-grown berries hanging from it. Naka would be able to scavenge 3 full, kind of large red berries. They were segmented into 4 large bumps around the center, with a flat base where it hung from the twigs. While this would likely be helpful, it seemed this berry bush was alone - no other plant life nearby that she could scavenge anymore fruits from.

Naka found 3 Chople berries!

Naka decided that her calves burned quite enough for one night, even though she hadn't found what could be remotely described as sufficient supplies- all these things would be good for was a small snack each. Her usual scowl deepened as she started to make her way back to the spot she'd been sheltering in. That egg in her backpack was decidedly not helpful when it came to getting much of anywhere that wasn't on flat ground. Shroomish was a hindrance right now as well, but he could be easily forgiven for not having arms- at least he could feel guilty about it.

Once she'd returned to her camp and stuff, she secured the egg, and, along with Shroomish, flopped right over and went to sleep. (Luckily, she beat him to the punch. It was nearly impossible to start a decent night's rest with Shroomish snoring.)

And with sleep, night came and went, pushing through to the morning and another beautiful day in the Rolling Mountains. The hills glistened in the morning air from the dew after the cool night moisture. A soft chill took to the air, but it was still lagging in the warm season enough so as not to be bothersome. If anything, it was likely comforting from the heat she'd likely been used to from the rest of her journey to this point. It would be a rather peaceful morning, nothing around to disturb their rise.

And the rest of the day, while devoid of any good portion of food aside from the berries she'd found the night before and any food they might track throughout the journey, would also prove to be quite pleasant. Here and there plants popped out of the ground, and pokemon skittered away at the first sight of strangers approaching. While grumblings and rumblings from much larger pokemon could be heard in the distance, nothing would come seeking to cause trouble to the group. All the while, the large true mountain grew larger and larger as they closed the distance between them.

The day came and went, the sun rising and arcing through the sky over them. It crossed its peak and started to descend down, sunset threatening to come soon. But before they would need to worry too much about losing their light without full stomachs, she'd see it in the distance. Nothing so organized or proper as Crater City, but signs of human life still. An array of tents were pitched up, fires flickering here and there around as human and pokemon alike walked around, tending to their own business. Even as their bodies were likely complaining about the lack of a real meal all day, it seemed their suffering was coming to an end. They'd arrive at the research camp just as everyone started to tend to evening meals, the scents drifting in the air and promising great tastes all around.
