Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

A Rare Find
Walking down the crudely worn street, the many footprints from humans and pokemon walking up and down on a regular basis, the woman was lost in thought as she moved. Arshia had, of course, heard all the talk about strange gifts that had been left in hidden spots, that the citizens were finding around town. And some apparent sightings of a red and white bird flying and running around, who was supposedly leaving the gifts. It seemed odd that a pokemon would be getting its hands on human items and gifts, only to be leaving them around in wrapped packages for others to stumble upon and be treated by.

She needed to study further into this, and collect more information if possible. Ideally, she would find one of these gifts on her own. Then, maybe she could get a clue as to who actually left it, and how to track them down to determine the true purpose of these odd offerings to the people of this village. These humans were not in any way, shape, or form kind to those pokemon living outside the village in the desert, nor were those pokemon friendly to even so much as the presence of a human nearby. So the idea that one was trying to be generous to them seemed unrealistic. But then, none of these villagers would be so generous either.

So that left a large mystery. In her ever growing pursuit of knowledge, Arshia was somewhat excited about the research into this strange phenomenon occuring. The collection of information and trying to track down research samples was very intriguing to her, and kept her pushing forward as she pressed on in her search. Though, on the outside, she still seemed the same steel expression that many around the village had to come to know as 'Gem', the native villager born and raised in Forest Beach. Of course, she'd never actually been there herself, but talks with traders extracting information had given her enough information to put together her story. And almost none in Oasis had ever been further than Ashfield, so it was a good cover to avoid them finding out she was an immigrant.

She started her search pretty early in the day, though had stopped many times in an effort to talk to others who may or may not have discovered their owns gifts. Before today, she'd already started investigating claims of the pokemon that had been seen scurrying around the village here and there, but no one had been able to truly discern what pokemon it was or be able to catch it in the act, which meant she had no solid proof of what it was really. Of course, the inquisitive woman was happy to put in the effort in order to find such proof herself. After all, others could only be trusted so much. If she wanted the job done right, she would need to do it herself.

Spotting around a corner, she noticed something nestled near a pile of firewood, in a dirty color that almost matched the sands it was half covered in. It seemed her work was paying off. It looked well padded, whatever the object was, and medium sized. She quickly moved up to it, and dusted some of the sand off of it. She felt the thickness of the wrapping around whatever was inside, determining that it was simply a blanket. Though, because it had been out in the sand, it was quite dirty, but the fabric used was undeniable. She carefully set to unwrapping the object, to see what this specific gift was that had been left.

It was hard to tell why Blue was out on the streets at this hour. Normally, the girl would coop herself up in Chuck's house until the nighttime. Instead, Sasha had dragged the girl outside, tired of her trainer being a borderline hermit.

It wasn't that Blue disliked people and socialization... It was just that Oasis made her feel outcasted and... A threat. She knew those stares, she could register the look of suspicion and anger by now.

Today was no different than what it had always been. Her dog and sheep were by her side, and her baby was in her arms. The demons of the group were probably the prime victim of this hostility by now. Blue tried her best to hurry along. They'd be at Snake Eyes in no time... Grab what was needed... Pay... Never attempt anything like this ever again.

The figure of another woman suddenly caught Blue's attention. Had she seen her around before..? Usually, there was a basic face she could recognize, but not her. Honestly, Blue couldn't even see the other's face, so that would be kinda hard in the first place.

Sasha and Mary carefully tried to keep their human along the path, but Blue's curious attempts kept them from moving as quickly as they should. There was something about this person... Were they an immigrant? Out-of-towner? It would be great if there was somebody like her around... She was sick of these people.

"Hello?" The girl tried to raise her arm and wave, but the other had seemed to turn a corner. The stunky in her other arm struggled about, crawling onto her shoulders. Blue winced, and slowly followed the woman.

The figure had seemed to find something in her walk. Blue stepped forwards, and opened her mouth to call out again. Then it hit her. What if this person was just like the other Oasis people? What if she tried to hurt Mary and Pyro? Even if she didn't, she would at least think Blue was a freaking creep.

The girl winced, grabbing her jacket sleeves and trying to move out of the picture. Sasha and the others happily agreed.

Arceus, she was a mess.

Fair Egg Post 8

Diglett Egg Post 1

An Odd Encounter
The woman was certainly intrigued by the contents, the smooth earthy brown shell being revealed as the cloth was uncovered. Well, she certainly hadn't been expecting a pokemon egg to be left about. From the coloration and design, she as pretty sure it held a growing baby inside. She looked around her, noticing the woman walking nearby, as if curiously following her, but found no pokemon that was nearby that could have owned it. She credited it as one of the mysterious gifts - and she definitely wasn't going to turn down the chance to add another loyal pokemon to her team. Her other egg, resting in her pack, hadn't hatched yet unfortunately. But she was willing to put in the effort for both in order to have the creatures further down the line. It was a good investment.

The original hello had been dismissed as for someone else, the woman having been so entirely focused on revealing this prize that she wrote it off. But even as the girl seemed to shrink and start to turn away, she realized that she was the intended target of the word. However, the small demeanor and strange change of heart towards socialization was certainly something to be noted. Clearly this girl had some reason to decide to greet her, and then turn away before she responded. Perhaps she felt ignored? No, from her expression, Arshia got the feeling there was more to it. And how the curiosity bubbled in the woman.

She carefully lifted the egg, cloth and all, and turned to face the woman before she could get away. "Oh, hello! Sorry, I was a little focused on this." Lifting the egg slightly as a gesture to show what she was talking about, the woman grinned and hoped the younger would be receptive to her attempt to initiate conversation. She had been the one to start it, but looked so discouraged for some reason. Carefully cradling the egg in one arm, she used her other to pull her dark locks over one shoulder, taking a few steps towards the stranger. She'd not seen this one around the village much, so of course she was curious if the girl was an immigrant. If so, her unsure demeanor would make sense. The natives of this village had a tendency to kick the happiness out of immigrants. Literally.

"Might I ask your name? I've been around here for a while, but don't think I've seen you." The pokemon around her were certainly a curious assortment. It didn't take long for her to identify the young baby and the dog as what Terrenians would call demons. It seemed odd to her that they would ostracize a broad typing of creature without analyzing the benefits of befriending such creatures, however the more she learned about this world the less that behavior surprised her. The people of this village were aggressive towards all immigrants without any regard for who they were. Well, when they knew the person was an immigrant. Her facade had been passing thus far, but it was a careful play.

"Oh, I suppose I should give my own first. I'm called Gem. You're team of pokemon seems very healthy. Do you have names for them as well?" She kept her voice light, hoping that it would come off as gentle to this stranger. She wanted to see what was going on with her, and analyze the kind of person she was. With her apparent ability to have demons work alongside her, she could be a strong ally towards... well, she wasn't quite sure on her plans yet, but getting away from the village would be a good first step. And perhaps she could help this young woman out in some way as well.

Curiosity of the object that the other woman held kept Blue from bursting off with her pokemon and running home. An egg? Blue blinked, and zoned out into thought for a second. She glanced over to Pyro, who was trying to stay stable on the trainer's shoulder. Blue released one of her hands and held it over the stunky to help him stay balanced.

Then the woman turned to her. Blue felt a rush of panic run down her spine, and instinct told her to run and run far. But still, it felt like glue held her feet to the ground. The girl could hear Sasha growl as she stood protectively in front of Mary.

She spoke, asking for a name. Blue's tensed up limbs seemed to loosen up at the slightest. The woman... Didn't seem to be explicitly angry at her or her team... That was good.

The stranger stated that her name was Gem. It suited her. She was as pretty as a gemstone. Blue blinked and just simply stood there for a short bit. Afterwards, she realized what was happening and her face turned red with embarrassment.

"O-Oh... Sorry for bothering you, Gem... I've been calling myself Blue since I've gotten here, so I guess that's my name." Blue greeted, grabbing Pyro off her shoulder and hugging him with some force.

Then came the question about her team. Blue glanced from Pyro to Sasha and Mary. Well, they were healthy, she could guess. The stunky began to whine and scramble back onto Blue's shoulder.

A slight tone of hurriedness and anxiety filled her next sentences. "Well... My team? Well, there's Sasha and Mary... Sasha is the growling one, Mary is the shy one. This is Pyro.." Blue stated, pointing to each as she spoke their names. She didn't really want to explain Fluffy, as the durant wasn't there and it felt tedious to add her when she wasn't in the scene.

"... May I ask about your team?"
Blue asked quietly, clutching the sleeve of her jacket.

Diglett Egg Post 10

A Wilting Soul
The young woman's freezing up at being greeted, as if getting locked in though or some sort of anxiety. No matter what the reason was, Arshia would wait patiently with a soft smile, studying the girl and waiting until she felt comfortable enough to reply, or decided to run. The woman started to blush before she began to respond. Yes, she had the feeling this poor girl had come across the paths of the gang members of this village a few times. That, on top of the hate for her demon pokemon, was bound to have wounded her on multiple levels.

Her stumbled response was further proof of the innate fear she seemed to have about meeting someone new - whether that was only while in Oasis or translated to other areas in Terrene, she couldn't say without more information. With some of the big events that tend to happen, there should be ample opportunity to get away from the village, even if just for a short time. She chuckled lightly as she began speaking. "Oh no reason to apologize at all! You aren't bothering me a bit. I'm always welcoming new conversation." If this 'Blue' was an immigrant who was so negatively impacted by the people of this town, and could harness and train the powers of those dark types, she could prove to be a valuable ally.

She felt a strange ping, something odd pulling at her mind. Watching as the distressed stunky scrambled up from being held, and the sheep in front growling low at her, she wondered which was causing the effect. Or, perhaps the little dog, which she was confident she could identify as a demon. Was that it then? She'd been told their powers consisted of being able to influence one's emotions to instill negative feelings. She wasn't feeling too bothered by it, but then again she wasn't by nature someone who was easily influenced by emotion to begin with. They did appear to be rather young, from her initial inspection, so perhaps it was a casual and unfocused aura of their power, rather than a concentrated effort. That would certainly apply to why she wasn't too influenced by it. She needed to study up more on them.

Blue answered her second question, though her tone was filled with a quickness and uncertainty that indicated she wasn't exactly feeling positive about the situation still. And yet she remained, still staying to chat with her. Gem was sure that she needed to watch every move, every word carefully or risk triggering the flight or fight instincts of the woman and her pokemon. And if the growling of the sheep was anything to indicate its own preferrence, she knew that it could end unfortunately. She was not here for a fight though, and would prefer not to scare them off.

So she remained in place, taking no steps forward or back. She had approached a bit already, showing her inclination to engage in conversation with the woman, but further approach could appear to be threatening, which was not her intention. She noted the names, glad to hear that the question was being tossed back her way. "Sasha, Mary, and Pyro. Those are nice names." Her own names for her pokemon were still unknown. She'd pulled words that she knew, but couldn't place a set picture or meaning to, other than that she felt a familiarity with the words. But she soon found out they seemed odd to some, despite all the weird names people generally had here.

Her lips perked up a bit at the question about her own team, but she did not move for her pokeballs. While she wanted to get her pokemon out to show the young woman, she couldn't risk startling her. No, she needed to be more careful about it. "I have 3 pokemon, and with this new egg, 2 eggs I'm hoping won't take too much longer to hatch." She motioned to her back strapped to her back, turning slightly for emphasis. "My three pokemon are named Lancet, Caliper, and Trocar. Would you like to meet them?" She left the option in Blue's court, per se. If she agreed, then Arshia would be happy to get them out. But it was clear they were on guard right now, so she wasn't going to do anything without her consent first.

Blue's current fear was slowly starting to settle as she realized the soft smile that the other woman held. Gem seemed to be very nice, and that was always a nice thing around here. Her mood lightened even more at the other's response. She was right; new conversation was always nice... And it was nice to know that she was actually welcomed.

Blue started to form a small smile, trying to show at least some form of being okay. While personally she felt calmer than she did prior to the starting conversation, her grin seemed a bit awkward.

The girl glanced over at Pyro, who was now fidgeting slightly. Confusion invaded her thoughts... Did he want down now? She sighed. This baby didn't want to stay in one spot for more than a minute. Blue carefully withdrew her hands from clutching her sleeves and reached to grab the stunky.

Pyro let out a squeak of alarm, and started to flail about the human's grasp. Blue silently murmured a few reassuring words as she gingerly set the baby on the dirt. The demon let out a few more squeaks before scuttling over to Sasha, who was still standing protectively by her houndour friend.

Blue blinked. Those three could never be apart too long, huh? She didn't find it wrong at all, only interesting. The short girl looked back up at Gem, and gave a little sheepish grin, along with a few giggles. She mouthed a silent apology.

She smiled even more at the mention of her team's names. Blue was fairly happy with those names herself, and felt a twitch of pride at the compliment. As Gem stated the pokemon on her team, Blue's interest perked her up.

"Oooh! Yeah, hopefully those eggs don't take too long to hatch! Babies are great!" The former anxiety that tinted her voice had vanished, and it had been replaced by wonder. There was nothing more that could bring Blue's trust than pokemon, even more so with eggs. The girl had a fascination with the little creatures that started when she had bought Pyro's egg at the fair.

Blue brushed the hair out of her eyes with her hand before responding to the question she had been given. She had to admit that the names chosen seemed strange. But hey, strange is unique! Her posture straightened, although it still didn't do her height justice.

"Oh, yeah! I'd love to meet them!" Blue cheered, turning back to her trio of pokemon. Sasha was still skeptical about the situation, but was too busy keeping Pyro in place to glare at the unknown human. Mary simply stood by her human's feet, gazing upon the stranger with worry.

Improving Demeanor
Even as they spoke and interacted, the woman's thoughts were keeping to the demonic powers of those present. She could feel the tabs of influence attempting to press into her mind, but it was rather weak and unfocused. As such, she was able to push through the clouded feelings and focus on that which she wanted to think on. Natives of this town were loathe to have any sort of interaction with demons, thus her studies on them had been quite minimal. So this chance to meet one who tolerates and accepts the demons was a golden opportunity to have further chances to study them in more depth. She would, of course, tread carefully, as in the past people didn't appreciate her efforts to study.

The people were too naive to understand that studies led to further advancements in science and medicine. These advancements would make their lives easier and safer. Alas, they would simply continue to live in their ignorance, closing their minds to the positive outcomes that could some from such research. Of course, others being as they are wouldn't stop her from doing what she felt was necessary, however not having willing subjects to study would certainly slow her progress. And catching a dark-type pokemon was out of the question, as she had no interest in turning that bias against her. There was enough on the line as she avoided telling those of Oasis that she was an immigrant, instead letting them live in their assumptions that one with her skills and aptitude had to be a native. She contributed valuable services to the town, and therefore it wasn't questioned anymore.

As the conversation progressed, the girl seemed to become more positive and willing. Her face started to light up from more casual giggles and smiles, which was certainly an extreme shift. Perhaps this was more true to the girl's actual personality though. Given the attitude and state of the village, the anxiety and fear originally presented was the logical reaction to meeting someone new in a place like this. However, as she started to get more comfortable, it made sense that her more true personality would come to form. The young one in her arms seemed ready to be put down, and indicated such. Arshia watched curiously as the young woman put the stunky down, and returned her attention.

Blue's joy seemed heightened as there was mention of her eggs. It could be assumed she had experience with eggs, which was certainly a subject that the older woman would appreciate more information on. "I take it you've cared for an egg before?" Her eyes glanced to the youngest of her pokemon. Perhaps she'd hatched that one? It did seem rather small to be an adult, however she had seem some very small pokemon before. So, without knowing this species better, there was no way for her to fully be aware of the average size for adults of its kind. Surely Blue would shed some light on that matter.

The trio of pokemon seemed to all have rather diverse personalities. The sheep, while normally a creature that was seen as timid and easily hunted, seemed very challenging and suspicious. It was certainly a curious specimen compared to what she'd heard on mareep. The dog seemed loyal, if worried. Though the coloration spoke to a demon, so she credited the rather down-trodden demeanor to such nature. The skunk seemed rather energetic, putting the electric-type to work while trying to get away to explore. It certainly seemed to have the energy of a young creature.

But more importantly, her conversational partner expressed that she'd like to meet her own pokemon. Gem nodded to her. "Very well. I'll start with the most calm and friendly of them. I don't want your pokemon to feel threatened after all." She had no interest in this encounter turning into a battle. If she was too brash with her actions and pokemon, they might attack. While they should be under the control of their trainer, she knew better than to trust others to have a handle on their pokemon. With that, she moved her bag to slide down her arm, adjusting the egg into one hand. Carefully, she set the bag on the ground and opened it, the other egg wrapped in a soft cloth. Gently placing the new egg within, she pulled out one of her pokeballs, sparing a glance up at Blue as she did so.

With her palm out, she activated the device. The red light flash and shot to her open palm, causing the creature to take form on her extended hand. When the light dispersed, the orange insectoid would appear. Only standing at about 6 inches tall, the creature was pretty easy to fit in one hand. Lancet looked around the place seeing the other human and the pokemon waaay down on the ground. "This is Lancet. He is called a paras, a grass and bug type." At her voice, he skittered in her hand to look up at her, though it was clear she wasn't addressing him specifically. At least, he didn't think so. So he continued looking around not talking for the moment while he took in this new place. "Would you like to hold him? He's rather friendly." If Blue did want to hold him, Gem would ask that she hold her hands out. Then, she would carefully tip the paras into her hands, Lancet following the tip into the new girl's hands.
