Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

Ri couldn't believe she fucking made it. This piece of shit village. After a long time of traveling between the Rolling Mountains and Desert Strip and squinting at a map, she'd made it to Oasis Village. The village itself was.... Pretty different. The whole place was unfriendly-looking, moreso than Crater City or Ashfield City had looked. The houses were made of mudbrick and the terrain itself was just.... Eh.... To be honest, Ri wasn't sure why anyone would've decided to lay down a city here. At least they were smart enough to put it near the coast. This village would've been dead without a close source of water, even if it was salt water and thus undrinkable. They probably at least had a fishing trade or something.

Since Ri had made it into the village, she released most of her pokemon. She allowed Venom, Sai, and Arashi out of their pokeballs, but kept Yuki inside. She.... Probably should start making a habit of it because dammit Yuki was already too fucking heavy. She could let her out when she had time to rest.... Because now was not the time. She couldn't ask anyone where Blue was.... She entered the village, and she got a lot of cranky stares. Usually, Ri was giving such looks instead of receiving them. That, and she got a bunch of greedy stares pointing straight at the incredibly valuable metal bracelets around her wrists. She held them up protectively and shot back icy fiery looks of 'fuck off.'

So, she kept to looking around as she walked to find Blue. She'd just keep an eye out. Surely the short girl with a jacket would be easy to spot...? Though, she wondered if Blue would be wearing the jacket, considering the heat. Ri had already taken off her own, using the sleeves to tie it around her wait, like she had last Summer.

Not a single word of dialogue came from Blue's mouth as she stood at the counter of the bar. At this point, the person running the place was far too used to her presence and knew what to get. The girl would simply nod in thanks and pass a small pile of tokens in exchange for a few bottles of booze. Honestly, she didn't like the taste of it that much. She couldn't understand why Chuck was so obsessed with it.

The barman merely nodded back, and snatched the tokens off the counter. The girl sighed, and briefly sat down on the floor to place the bottles in her backpack. While she did so, Sasha was angrily pacing from the human to the door, wanting to get out as soon as possible. And rightfully so, as there was some fairly drunk and possibly violent strangers behind them at the tables, flailing and yelling random stuff. Joey was merely perched on the girl's head, eying the other humans with interest. Despite his interest, however, he was perfectly content with going home. A part of him was thankful he chose this human to stay with and not some of the idiots in the background.

Mary and Pyro were both left at Chuck's place for multiple reasons, mainly consisting of the fact that they were demons and Pyro's growing trouble-making tendencies. Sasha seemed fairly annoyed with this choice, and it was part of why she was pushing for the team to leave.

After a minute of trying to make all of the bottles fit, Blue had tossed the backpack over her shoulders again and was heading out. Joey was tossed off in the rushed movement, and had to try to buzz after the girl. She took a small sigh as she stepped out of Snake Eyes and into the daylight. Okay, she was close to home. Nothing bad was going to happen. She could just bolt if it did.

That still didn't stop her from feeling painfully anxious around the other people. She dodged making eye contact, slightly terrified of what would happen if she did. She just kept her hood up and her eyes trained on the street. It was a wonder how she wasn't dying of heat stroke, considering her admittedly thick jacket. She didn't dare to complain, though, not even in her thoughts.

Joey blinked, and lifted up his head to look around. There was something new here, he could feel it... But what? He could sense a new but strong sense of anger nearby. He wondered if it could be one of those weirdos that hung out in groups of each other. Those were mighty angry humans... He lifted his head to look around.

Well, there was natives. He could tell they were natives by the pissed off expressions and overall unfriendly demeanor. But he didn't have to look all to hard to see a figure that stood out of the crowd. A redhead followed by three pokemon. The human wore clothing that he typically didn't associate with the simple types that the natives wore, so he assumed she might be the kind of human that showed up from nowhere, like Blue.

He raised an eyebrow, and giggled lightly as he could now focus on where the new vibe of anger came from. The cutiefly turned back to the street they were walking on, and looked down at his mareep comrade. "(Hey, look. There's more messes.)"

"(Joey, what the hell?)" Sasha murmured before glancing over to where the bug was pointing to. Her annoyed but surprisingly calm expression grew confused and ticked off insanely quick as she noticed Ri and her team, specifically Venom. She could never not notice Venom's ridiculous face. It was the type that you wanted to punch in on sight. The sheep turned towards them, and stared to shout. "(Hey! What the hell are you guys doing here?!)"

Blue flinched up at the mareep's sudden shouting, even backing up a few steps. She instantly started to turn her head, as if looking for some type of threat.

Instead, she finally caught sight of Ri.

The girl didn't believe her eyes for a second. That couldn't be right. It shouldn't be right. Why would Ri be in Oasis, of all places? That was like making a death wish! Still, as Sasha still had her eyes trained on the other team, Blue started to realize that this was reality.

Panicked thoughts creeped into her head, mainly concerning the redhead's safety. She didn't want to see Ri get hurt at all. She didn't want anything remotely close to it. Still, a part of her was actually ecstatic about the other woman's presence. That part of her made her take a running headstart towards the redhead.

"Ri!" Blue cried, jumping a bit as she wrapped her arms around the other human. Her conflicting emotions were making her head hurt, and it showed clearly on her face. She was smiling, but her expression was fearful as tears started to form. "Ri, oh my god."

Venom's attention was sharply caught by the sound of a very loud sheep. There was only one sheep he knew of that loud.... Not that he frequently got acquainted with sheep. It was bad habit to become... Familiar with the prey you were supposed to eat. Can't afford to feel sympathy for something you need to kill and eat to survive. Though... Venom, grudgingly admitted that... Maybe he didn't need to kill as often as he did. He'd only ever admit it out loud to.... Maybe.... Sai.... One day.... If he was really feeling out of it. Only in private. He hated admitting anything. It almost physically pained him. "(We're here with our human. Where else would we be?)" He hissed back, trying to force himself to not sound.... Too snappish. That kind of response would set off Sai.... Ugh.

Sai looked to see where Sasha was. Unlike Venom, she was much more enthused and happy to see Sasha. Sai enjoyed the company of Sasha more than Venom... Though, she wasn't sure she'd say she'd be happy to abandon her current group for Sasha's.... Because... Still... This was the group she'd grown up with and were technically her family. Besides, she had to think of Arashi and Yuki, and she couldn't ask anyone to take in three whole pokemon. It was... Ridiculous. She lightly swatted Venom, who grudgingly shut up now. "(Sasha!)" Her tone was much friendlier than the Seviper's. "(Ah, it's like he said, y'know? We're here because our human is! Maybe she wanted to find your's?)" She suggested.

Ri suddenly heard the sheep bleating. She knew that Blue had a Mareep in the form of Sasha, and... Well.... She turned to look and she saw Blue and their eyes met. Her expression softened from the grumpy face it'd solidified into being around Oasis Village natives. Her eyes gently shone with relief that Blue seemed to be fine... At least she was alive, and her lips seemed on the verge of smiling... But not quite there. Nevertheless, it was a strangely kind and honest face that Ri didn't often show off. Though, it was quickly schooled into a casual, yet still friendly expression. Though, it faltered as Blue was just.... Staring at her. Ri raised a hand to awkwardly wave at Blue, when the shorter girl was suddenly bounding towards her at probably full speed, before wrapping Ri in a hug.

Ri's faltering expression washed away in lieu of surprise, before softening again. She awkwardly wrapped a single arm back around Blue.... Sort of almost returning the hug. It still screamed endless amounts of awkwardness... Only exacerbated by the fact that Blue was.... A lot shorter than Ri. It was pretty substantial, so it made things almost a little strange. "Hey, Blue...." Shock sparked in her eyes when Blue started to tear up. "Hey, hey, it's okay, it's okay..." She said. Why was Blue freaking out? She couldn't have possibly missed Ri that much... These were panic tears she was sure, but for what? Did Blue not want to see her? But if that were so, the hug seemed a bit strange. Ri bit her lip, because she couldn't figure out what was wrong.

Then she sniffed. Then she blinked. "Hold on, is that alcohol I smell?" She asked in disbelief.

An eyebrow was raised as Sasha chuckled at Venom's words. She wasn't exactly all too surprised by his tone of voice at this point. She knew he probably didn't like her, and she didn't exactly like him either. But hey, it was fun to laugh at him. Her chuckle only grew as she watched the yellow duck lightly swat at the seviper. Not really at the action itself, but the fact that Sai was the one that did it... It would be nice if Sai could put Venom in his place sometime. But she could only dream.

Completely ignoring the snake, Sasha nodded in greeting at the psyduck. "(Heyyy Sai, nice to see ya!)" She murmured, the loudness in her voice settling down a bit. She shrugged slightly as the other pokemon continued, slightly understanding. She probably would follow her human around as well. Well, she did already. She really had nowhere else to go otherwise. Unless she wanted to die out in the desert searching for her potentially dead family. Yeah... As much as she loved them, she'd prefer to stay with the human and the others.

She took a glance up at the humans at the last comment, and shrugged again. Well, how could she know? She couldn't read minds, sadly. "(... Well, she sure seems happy to see your human. That's good. Happiness is definitely something she needs like holy shit.)" The mareep added an awkward chuckle at the end. She flicked up for a second though as Joey came buzzing through. The cutiefly narrowed his eyes for a few seconds as he looked over the other human's team. A bunch of weirdos, but he could manage.

"(Yeah! How'd your human do it? It's a difficult task trying to keep this child happy and yet your human does it easily.)" Joey mumbled, taking a moment to buzz around the two humans. He narrowed his eyes at the redhead, as if expecting her to pull out a gun at him. This was witchcraft. Well, maybe not witchcraft. Some type of madness, though. Sasha merely rolled her eyes and turned her head over to the hovering fairy. "(Jo, calm down. You're overthinking.)"

Blue felt a wave of comfort as she was... Sort of hugged back. Her smile grew, and she tightened her hug for a few seconds. The general joy that Ri was here was starting to weight out the fears, although they still remained. She felt the need to just drag Ri back to Chuck's right now to avoid any potential danger this scene could draw it. But... Heck, that'd be a really awkward thing to just say out of the blue. Yes, you just arrived, now come over to this random stranger's house so you don't die.

Speaking of random strangers, the question about the alcohol in her backpack was brought up. Blue flinched up for a second in surprise, as if surprised that Ri could smell it. She awkwardly broke away from the hug, and wiped away the forming tears on her face. She shouldn't cry. Not right now, anyways. This wasn't even exactly sad to her. Sure, a bit nerve-wracking, but surely not sad.

The girl laughed softly and awkwardly, and even glanced away for a second. Still, she grabbed a bottle of alcohol from her backpack and brought it in front of her. Blue poked at it slightly before laughing again. "Y-Yeah... Not for me, though. My boss just really likes the stuff." The bottle was tilted a bit, and Blue briefly watched the liquid dance around as it did... To be honest, should she even consider Chuck as a boss? It seemed like she was just some leech in his house right now... Maybe she should push him to let her help out more. Yeah, maybe she should... When she stopped feeling terrified of the idea.

Blue still kept her eyes trained on their surroundings, ready to grab Ri and bolt if anyone seemingly hostile approached. She could have sworn she saw some gang member earlier... Maybe she was just being paranoid? Maybe not... Hopefully not.

Venom tried to suppress his hisses of annoyance at the sheep's chuckling. It was annoying and irritating.... But no. He steeled his pride and told himself that he was above it. It didn't matter what little concessions the stupid sheep gave herself to make herself feel better. Venom was still strong. What did she have that he didn't? .... He actually had an answer, but he refused to formulate it into a thought. He... Didn't want to actually consider what the sheep had but he didn't. He knew how it'd sit in his mind, and he didn't need that shit. He especially didn't like how Sai treated him in public, and how the sheep reacted. Who was she to laugh?! Tch.

Sai was glad that Sasha was glad to see her, now that the Mareep was within a reasonable distance, it was nice that her voice had softened once more. She... Guessed loudness wasn't too bad, but she wasn't entirely fond of excessive noise. Venom could be loud sometimes, but his hissed words lack a large blunt force behind the loud bleating of a sheep. Not that she faulted Sasha for it she just... Liked her ears nice and healthy. "(I'm glad we were able to meet again too.)" Sai said with a nod,

Andy, who'd been flying in the sky up until now, noticed the sudden interaction. Curiosity piqued, he descended from the sky and landed right next to Sai. He tilted his head. "(Care to introduce them?)" He said, asking Sai, even as he looked straight at Sasha. It appeared that this was a meeting of old acquaintances, that Andy had no context for. Eh, oh well. It might be interesting to figure out what he'd missed.

Sai blinked. "(Oh! Yes. This is Sasha. She ah... She's with the other human. The small one.)" She explained to Andy. Then she looked to Sasha. "(Ah.... This is.... Andy. He's traveling with us now.)" She explained. "(We met him in the mountains, before we came here.)"

Then at Sasha's words, Sai and Andy both spared glances at the red-haired human. "(... Huh... I'm not sure about our human. She seems.... Okay, I guess? She's nicer to this human than others.)" Sai said slowly. Andy didn't seem to have anything to add, simply mimicking a shrugging gesture by shifting his wings.

Venom suddenly cut in, albeit reluctantly it seemed like. "(She does. She likes this human, as the mousier one likes her.)" He grumbled out. Sai blinked at the apparent insight. It... Made sense that Venom understood the human a little better, having been with the human longer. That, and humans were.... Pretty weird, and Venom was older.... So she guessed it made sense he knew better. Even if he didn't know better in most situations....

Sai glanced at the... Fuzzy creature buzzing on forth. "(Er, Sasha? Did... Did you pick up a new friend as well?)" She inquired gently. Then before she could be answered, the fuzzy one began grumbling. Sai chuckled nervously. "(Ah.... I'm not really sure. Maybe it's because they're friends....?)" She suggested gently. "(Ah... Is your name Jo....?)"

Ri was not great with physical intimacy. Which included hugs, but she supposed it was good that.... Even her bad attempt at a hug was making Blue smile a little more. Her own expression was... Almost pleasant, thought not quite a smile. Suddenly, she wondered how Blue dealt on her own. She heard that dark-types could induce negative emotions or make them worse.... She didn't actually know if they were rumors if they were true. She guessed... She did feel a little better after leaving Ashfield and the Great West Forest. It might have some truth. She'd never ask Blue to give up Mary and Pyro, but she did wonder about their effect on Blue.

Ri's question about the alcohol caused Blue to flinch, and Ri wasn't sure what to think. Blue broke the hug, and wiped away her tears, as Ri started to feel extremely awkward. Should she have asked? Should she have said something else? Ri didn't have the answers, and it was really.... Ugh. She wished she knew the perfect things to say, but instead she was fumbling. Great. Just, great.

Ri bit her lip. "Okay....." She cleared her throat. "Your boss. Can I meet him?" She asked, her tone pleasant. Though, inwardly she was thinking about what kind of a boss would make Blue go out and get him alcohol. Was he an alcoholic? Oh Arceus, she hoped he wasn't some shitty drunkard. Did he hurt Blue? Ri's thoughts were racing, and she couldn't help but think the worst. Though, she didn't want to distress Blue, so she pulled out the stops on her bullshit abilities, and wouldn't let Blue know that anything was wrong. Ri even smiled. The smile wasn't... Exactly real, but it was polite. Though, it didn't look forced at all. Ri was a bit too talented with the art of lying through her fucking teeth for that.

Sasha held a stupidly confident grin on her face as she quickly noticed how annoyed Venom seemed to be. As much as she was annoyed with the seviper as well, she didn't want to give him the satisfaction that the mere thought of him made her want to break something.

Her thoughts drifted briefly to that seviper's skull she shattered, but they were interrupted by a new face. Although she wasn't familiar with a lot of birds out here, she could tell it was a pidgey. Well, seemed that her team wasn't the only one that gained a new member.

As Sai introduced her, the sheep merely nodded along and made a quick comment. "(Yeeep. Expect lots of cooing out of her later.)" She made a quick snicker before listening to Sai introduce the bird. Andy, huh? Sounded normal compared to Yuki and Arashi, whatever the he'll those names meant.

She didn't verbally respond to the comments about the redhead. Instead, she made a small shrug and stared at the two humans, in which Joey was circling around at hyperactive speeds.

At the questions about the cutiefly, Sasha began to stare at him. He was stopping at random points to make mental notes about both of the humans. He seemed too focused on his notes to respond, causing Sasha to roll her eyes. "(Yes, Mary and the human came home with him flying around the house one day and he never left. The human calls him Joey, which he seems to like.)"

Blue didn't know exactly how to feel about Ri asking to meet Chuck. She was happy to get Ri out of the open but... Something kept telling her it might not go well. Not that Chuck was a horrible or hating person, he just seemed to distrust some of the people Blue had met. Particularly Fleet, and she didn't know why.

"... Yeah! Sure! He doesn't live too far from here." Blue immediately responded before she could talk herself out of saying otherwise. The girl smiled brightly at Ri's polite smile before pointing in the direction of the house. She started to walk quickly, with Joey buzzing around her head like mad.

Sasha blinked, and looked over at the walking human. "(Well, I guess we're going home.)" She spoke her thoughts before following after. A glance went over her shoulder, and she added a short question before continuing. "(Ya coming?)"

@BestBella

The ridiculous expression on the sheep's face got on Venom's nerves. Aside from some grumbling hissing, he seemed extremely disengaged from the conversation, hanging back and refusing to approach much. He'd cut in before because he felt the need to.... But other than that he really did not want to get involved with this stupid.... Conversation. The only one he was sort of okay with talking to was.... Sai. Then again Sai seemed.... Upset with him lately, so he didn't really have anyone to talk to. Not really. The human couldn't speak in pokemon tongue, and he didn't want to talk to the children.

Andy didn't really know what this... Sasha meant by cooing. "(.... Eh.... Okay.)" He said. He figured it didn't matter too much probably. Anyone, it sounded like he'd probably find out or something. That or Sai would explain it, or something. Sai seemed to not know how to react to Sasha's words.

Sai and Venom both seemed to be glancing over at the humans, to where.... The cutiefly appeared to be buzzing around.... The red-haired human specifically. Unpleasant sensations prickled along Venom's scales as he hissed, irritated. He slithered back towards the human, curling around the redhead's legs, hissing at the fly. He did not appreciate the sudden proximity....

"(Ah.... I see.)" Sai said, wondering if she should go tell Venom to knock it off... But, she supposed she should leave it. He didn't seem about to attack, and she wasn't sure she could get him to stop. He always got prickly when it seemed someone else that was a pokemon was getting too close to the red-haired human. It was sort of strange, honestly. The human seemed to be the only one that Venom got weirdly protective over.

Ri was glad that Blue agreed. Ri grinned a little. "Cool." She immediately began to follow after Blue, though she was concerned about the buzzing from the cutiefly. She glanced at the fairy as she walked. "Uh.... What's with the cutiefly?" She asked. It was sort of weird, and she didn't know how to explain why he was.... Buzzing so furiously around their heads.

Sai shrugged. "(.... Uh.... I guess we are.)" She said, watching as Venom was already slithering after the humans who were on the move. Arashi, who'd... Somehow missed this entire interaction by playing a distance away, she'd need to be alerted that they were moving on. "(Arashi! We're going!)" She called out loudly to the young zebra, who seemed to be going farther away.

Arashi turned around to see.... Oh! Those guys! She recalled Pyro, and she got giddy! She didn't see him anywhere, but she bet he was close! She bounded back over with extreme enthusiasm."(Is Pyro here?!)" She asked excitedly.

"(U-Uhm... I'm sure we'll see him soon. Just.... Come with us.)" Sai said, as Arashi squealed. Andy took to the skies again, flapping his wings to gain lift and follow after the humans, while Sai walked and Arashi bounced along.

Sasha's smile softened as Arashi came bounding over towards the walking group. It was nice to see the kid again, as Pyro seemed to enjoy her company a lot. He sometimes asked her if the zebra was coming over to hang out, in which Sasha just nodded and mentioned it happening sooner or later. Thankfully he didn't have to wait any longer.

"(Pyro is at the house. He's not exactly safe to be out here, unfortunately.)" The sheep replied, her voice starting to fade by the end of it. She was genuinely sad that her team had to be cooped up in that stupid house all day just because of some idiotic and ignorant humans. And when she was sad, she was mad.

Blue smiled sheepishly as Ri asked about the cutiefly. She tried to catch a glance of him, but it was hard considering how fast he was moving. "His name's Joey... He's usually like this around people." She explained.

She wasn't exactly lying when she said that the house wasn't too far away. It only took a few minutes for it to come into view. Granted, Blue was admittedly rushing. But still.

When the two teams reached the house, a sense of nervousness washed over her. She was slightly scared to open the door. Chuck was a little... Unpredictable in this situation. Sometimes he was passed out on the floor, sometimes he was furiously shifting the position of the furniture. Still, she pushed open the door. Ri would probably do it anyways if she didn't.

The scene was... Surprisingly normal in her head. Her boss was sitting on the floor, his maractus Scotch seated across from him. The two kept making marks in the dirt floor in a tic tac toe fashion. Mary and Pyro were a little ways away, sharing a few bites of a cooked fish. Whiskey was surprisingly asleep, slumped up near the cactus bunny. Chuck himself was chewing on a wishiwashi.

Blue awkwardly glanced up at Ri before speaking up. "Hey Chuck, I got the beer."

Arashi's bouncing calmed down to regular energetic walking.... Which was about the best you could ask from Arashi, without tiring out the zebra to the point where she could hardly stand. "(Huh? What do you mean not safe?)" She asked. She was young, and didn't have a lot of experience with the lack of kindness from humans... Most of her experience with humans was mostly... The red-haired one and that was it. She'd certainly never been privy to the cruelty of humans towards dark-types.

Admittedly, Sai didn't know a lot about it either. She'd been told by Venom a bit about it, but... She'd never seen it for herself. Was it really that bad that Mary and Pyro couldn't leave the house....? The duck wore a troubled expression at Sasha's words.

Ri gently squinted at the cutiefly as Blue explained. "Huh.... Weird..." She muttered softly. She figured there had to be a reason that.... Blue didn't know. She stared, but ultimately decided she wouldn't be able to figure it out just by staring at the buzzing fairy. She kept her eyes on the walk ahead.

Fortunately, said walk wasn't too long. They were approaching one of the houses soon enough, and Ri supposed she was glad that it hadn't taken too long. Though, she was getting a little anxious about this.... Boss of Blue's. Anxiety mixed with fear and maybe a dash of anger were swirling in Ri's mind, she forced herself to take a deep breath. She needed to be calm.... She wasn't sure she could, but she'd try her best.

Blue lead the way, opening the door. Ri peered past Blue to see.... A man sitting on the floor, apparently.... Playing a game in the dirt with a maractus. Ri slowly blinked to reconfirm that she wasn't seeing things. Okay. Okay. She guessed that wasn't too bad. She wondered how long it'd take for this... Chuck guy to notice her.

...... Chuck, huh? Seemed like the right name for an alcoholic who apparently.... Took people in. For some reason... It felt painfully familiar, and a sort of oddly resentful and bitter feeling stirred deep in her chest. Where did that come from? Resentment wasn't something.... Ri was too familiar with in her time in Terrene. Anger and fear, sure. But not something so specific as resentment.....

Blue waved a hand as Chuck turned his head at the sound of her voice. He waved back, smiled, and tried to boost himself up. He had to set him arm on a nearby wall, though, as he was stumbling pretty bad. He grumbled to himself, mostly consisting of curses towards his aging bones.

The girl broke off from Ri to approach the man, not at all hesitating in her steps. She was quickly standing by Chuck's side, holding out her arms to help him stand if needed. Chuck refused the gesture though with a wave of his hand. Blue winced, and set the bottle in her hand onto the floor. "You doing alright?"

Chuck laughed, although his throat seemed strained. He nodded, and tried to straighten himself up. "Yeah, I'm alright, kid. Just hard to stand after sitting for a while." He replied, suddenly forcing himself to stand straight up. He towered over the small girl in height, although that didn't seem to intimidate Blue. She just nodded while still standing by his side.

Finally, Chuck noticed the newcomer Blue had brought with her. His eyes narrowed in suspicion. He looked down at the small girl beside him, and sighed. "Who's your... Friend, I assume?"

Sasha made no hesitation in stepping into the house and over to Pyro and Mary. She smiled, and seated herself by them. The canine and sheep booped noises slightly as Pyro started to bound away to the other team. "(Oooh! It's you, it's you! Hello!)" He cheered.

Ri shoved her hands into her pockets, and kept forcing a polite smile. She wondered why he had such a hard time getting up... Couldn't be all age. Could it? Was he drunk? Hung over? She couldn't be entirely sure, and honestly.... Ri should probably stop making assumptions, but she couldn't help it. She.... She was trying to figure all this... Out. She wasn't entirely sure what this was, either.

Blue didn't seem to hesitate at all, while going over to help him. There wasn't a hint of uncertainty in her steps, and Ri took note of that. Okay, so Blue probably cared about her boss a lot.... Or, a more sinister thought suggested that he'd conditioned her to help him without the slightest qualm. She brushed the thought aside. No, she wasn't afraid of Chuck. That couldn't be it. Nope. She needed to stop having bad idea thoughts. Blue had set down the alcohol and inquired after.... Chuck's well-being.

Ri couldn't banish the curling snake in her cut, that made her want to start spilling insults from her mouth. Ri kept that from happening by keeping her mouth shut. She.... She needed to not stir up anything. It'd probably upset Blue and.... She didn't want to deal with that right now. Chuck refused Blue's help, and Ri supposed that was.... A good sign? Ri tried to quell her raging thoughts. It didn't really work.

Chuck laughed and his voice sounded rough. Was it from disuse or just a dry throat? The alcohol maybe? He gave an explanation for his difficulties standing up. Ri continued to say nothing. What did it say about the redhead herself if she couldn't trust her own tongue? Alright, alright, Ri needed to learn how to stop thinking. Fuck, fuck, fuck......

As suspicious eyes were trained on her, Ri's polite smile grew into a casual lazy grin. It wasn't any more real than the smile she had before. She couldn't help it. For whatever reason, she was feeling bitter as fuck. Was this guy going to keep her away from Blue? No way in hell. Did this guy think he could do a better job of looking after Blue? Ri was probably way better than this shithead. If he tried anything, Ri could probably beat him up a little. He looked weak enough to be blown away by a breeze.

"Yeah. I'm her friend." Ri chirped with cheer that she didn't actually feel.

As Sai entered the house, she awkwardly stepped over to the side, feeling she should give the others some space. Andy flew in after her, and landed next to the duck. Arashi bounded in right after, bouncing up to Pyro. "(Pyro! It's me!)" She squealed giddily. She was so happy to see Pyro again! He was really cool!

Venom stayed by Ri's side, near the door. Venom was staring intently at the.... Larger male human who didn't seem too approving of the red-haired human's presence. He flicked out his tongue silently.

Chuck sighed, and tried to take a few steps away from the wall with Blue still huddling up beside him. Although he was trying to dismiss her away, she was still trying to help out. The man finally gave in and let her stay by him.

Once he was a couple feet away from the redhead, he paused. She looked dangerous, especially with the snake curled up around her legs. Once she spoke, he raised an eyebrow and looked down at Blue. She smiled, and nodded. "Yeah, this is Ri." She added, as if it would explain everything.

Well, that would explain the seviper, if anything. He sighed, and tried to show a warm smile, although it was forced. He took a deep breath, and glanced down at Ri again before going back to Blue. "... Hey, why don't you go get something to eat?"

She opened her mouth to argue, but his non-blinking stare sent her hesitantly walking over to where the food was stored.

Chuck's smile faltered slightly, but it still held strong on his face. He looked over to Ri with suspecting eyes. Still, he held out his hand for a welcoming handshake. "Well, nice to finally meet you, Ri."

If Ri returned his offer of a handshake, he'd immediately pull her forwards. If not, he would just withdraw his hand and take a step forwards. His voice was a low growl as he spoke.

"Do anything to hurt her, and your corpse is used as fishing bait."

He stepped back, and left the threat to hang in the air as he stared in the direction of where Blue had gone. He started quietly waiting for the girl to reappear. Hopefully with food in her stomach.

Pyro beamed as Arashi bounced over to him. He started bouncing around as well, although not as high as the zebra. "(Aishi! Hi, hi!)"

He suddenly stopped bouncing, but a rush of excitement filled his next actions. He started spinning around in circles, and suddenly propped himself to sit upwards. "(Ooh! Look at what I can do! Look!)"

The little skunk took a deep breath, and lowered his ears. His cheeks swelled up slightly, and he looked somewhat ridiculous for a second. It would last short, though, as Pyro suddenly released a flurry of embers from his mouth. He smiled in pride as the small bits of fire flew into the air. The fire also caused Joey to swarm over, being drawn in by the bright light.

Mary lifted her head, and winced at the stunky's sudden attack. She called out to the child in a worried tone. "(Pyro, please be careful with that!)" Sasha only smiled and chuckled. She did, however, share the same worry inside her head.

Ri tilted her head as Chuck continued to try and approach. Blue apparently was trying to reassure him.... However, the redhead could see it. This probable-drunkard didn't like nor trust her. She kept up that lazy grin of her's. She wouldn't be the one who was going to make Blue upset because they weren't getting along. Ri knew Blue well enough that she knew the younger girl would want everyone to get along.... Though, Ri wasn't sure she could. Her thoughts drifted.... This Chuck guy had made Blue go out and get alcohol for him. Bitter feeling swirled deep in her heart, and couldn't help but think.... This guy probably wasn't doing that great of a job looking after Blue. More than enough reason to convince Blue to come with her, away from this place, back to.... Ashfield or something. It would be safer than this place that fucking hated immigrants.

Ri could see the tension in Chuck's expression, as he tried to force a smile. Hm. Not as experienced as she was in the art of bullshitting people? Then quite obviously, Chuck moved to get rid of Blue, likely wanting to say something to Ri personally, without the problems of Blue's desperate naivety.

Blue seemed almost ready to protest, but his firm stare convinced her to leave anyway. Ri supposed that was for the best.... She didn't really want Blue to hear anything she might say... Since she was pretty sure that Blue's alleged "boss" and herself would not be getting along... If this first impression said anything.

He held out a hand for a handshake. It seemed innocuous enough, and Ri tried to relax. It was just a handshake. It's not anything bad. That's what she told herself anyway, because... Well... It's not like she wanted Chuck to dislike her. Ri just.... Had a hard time dealing with.... Her feelings that she couldn't explain. Anyway, so she took the handshake.

Terror and panic instantly spiked as she was pulled forward. Her eyes widened, and her surprise kept her from hiding the shock of panic in her eyes. Upon the growled threat, she couldn't help it. She simultaneously tried to pull her hand back, while bringing forward her left foot forward to kick him.... Probably in the gut? Ri wasn't paying attention to where she was aiming. If Chuck did let go of her, she'd immediately take several steps back, holding tightly onto the wrist of the hand that Chuck grabbed.

"How about we don't do that....?!" She hissed at him, panic still edging her voice. She did not appreciate being touched, and that kind of.... That was not okay. That was so not okay. She was never letting anyone touch her again. Bad, bad, bad.

"(Er, actually it's Arashi, but I guess it's kind of hard to remember!)" Arashi replied, still happy because it was Pyro and he was bouncing too! Even if he hadn't.... Exactly remembered her name.... It was close enough!

Arashi suddenly stopped bouncing too, but her rump was still wiggling. "(Huh?)" She asked, tilting her head as Pyro took in a deep breath. She leaned forward trying to get a good look at what Pyro was doing. She yelped and hopped back half a step, as sparkling embers were released. Her eyes instantly sparkled. "(Oh! That's really cool!)" She squealed, jumping up and down out of excitement. "(I can't do anything that cool yet, but I totally will one day! Just you wait!)" She chirped excitedly.

Venom was still curled around the human's legs loosely, but a brief altercation between the older male and his red-haired human..... The human escaped several steps back, as he glared and hissed at the older male. "(Hands off...!)" He hissed in warning. Then he heard the annoying squealing voice of the zebra child. Grumbling, he cast his gaze to the side to see..... Wait what.

What the fuck.

"(What the hell?!)" He hissed loudly in that direction. "(That! That's not right! What is that?!)"

Sai on the other hand, was not really sure what Venom was screaming about. She kept pressed awkwardly to the wall. Things were.... Starting to get messy, and Sai wasn't sure what to do. So.... She kept largely out of it. She was keeping an eye on things though.....

Blue's voice sounded soft as she tried to reassure herself about the situation. This was okay, right? Please to god, let it be okay. A creeping nervousness made her hands shake slightly. In them, she held a couple berries and a recently cooked wishiwashi. Her stomach hurt at the sight of it.

She kept murmuring hopes and reassurances under her breath to hopefully ease her thoughts, although it came to no avail. It only intensified as she came back to where Chuck and Ri were. The tall man was holding himself up by a nearby chair, one of his arms wrapped around his stomach. He was wheezing and trying to recover from whatever happened to him. The other stood away from his, visibly shaken and on edge. Blue gulped.

"I-Is everything alright?!" She asked, running over towards the two. She set down the food she held on the stone table, not too confident in not dropping them. She kept glancing from Chuck to Ri, and winced. "Wh-What-!?"

"Nothing, kid. It's just-" Chuck's interrupting voice was paused briefly by a coughing fit. "... Just me. I'm old, ya know?" His voice was quiet, as if a louder tone would strain him. Blue hesitantly nodded, and glanced at Ri before looking back at her boss. She didn't buy it. Not at all. Still... It would be better to just play along rather than possibly bring up a fight.

"Oh... Okay. Well, I got some berries and fish for you." Blue murmured.

"I meant for that to be for you." Chuck muttered without skipping a beat, as if already knowing he'd have to say that. Blue flinched back, and stared at the food on the table. She nodded subtly, and grabbed it off the table. She reluctantly left the man standing by his chair to stand by Ri.

She held up the berries and fish to Ri with a sheepish smile on her face. "... You're probably hungry, right? Here... I'm not hungry." She offered quietly. She could hear Chuck grumble in the background. "You're never hungry..."

Blue awkwardly laughed and ignored the comment. But after a few seconds, she hushed her already quiet voice and spoke. "... Are you okay? Something happened, didn't it?" Her tone held enough worry to supply a whole ocean of it.

Pyro was still content, despite the growing negativity around him. "(Oh, yeah! Arashi! Sorry!.. But yeah! It's really cool! I wanna make it bigger and better when I'm older!)" He cheered, bouncing in place with excitement.

The suddenly hissing seviper made Pyro tilt his head in confusion. Why was he so surprised? Had he never seen fire before? "(What's up with him?)" The stunky murmured, raising a paw to point at Venom.

Sasha would have been cackling at the snake, but the situation between the humans had all of her focus. She felt... Slightly on edge at the sight of the redhead kicking the man that gave them shelter. It seemed to agitate Scotch to bits, as the maractus glared coldly at the human. Her prickly arm was held up high as she hopped over to her trainer... Well, thank god Whiskey was asleep. The herdier would have never stopped barking and lashing out.

Ri was trying to force deeper breaths to try and just fucking calm down. It wasn't working as well as she wanted it to, her breath refusing to stop fucking shaking. She should be fine. She should be fine. Why wasn't she fine? Ha.... It wasn't that bad, just a handshake that was secretly a fucking trap. She couldn't leave Blue with this guy. She couldn't, but she didn't want to make Blue upset, she clearly cared about this shithead. Suddenly, terror gripped her mind. Would Blue turn on her for attacking Chuck? Anxiety began welling up. No, no. Blue would understand if it was in self-defense, right? Would she? Would she? Blue wouldn't leave. She wouldn't, right? Ri could count on Blue sticking around, right?

Blue was the only reason Ri came to this Arceus forsaken hell hole after all. Blue wouldn't spurn Ri.

Ri forced a smile. "Yeah, yeah, everything's fine. Don't worry Blue. Don't worry about a thing." She reassured Blue, wondering how the fuck she was able to make her voice sound level and calm. Was she a big fake? Was she deceiving Blue? Fuck, fuck, fuck. Okay, okay no wait. Calm. She needed to calm down. Ha.... She was always good at pretending things were fine. It wasn't wrong, it was a good thing. No need to worry anyone.

Chuck lied through his fucking teeth instead of telling Blue what Ri did. She pushed down the sudden spark of guilt in her chest. She pushed aside the self-deprecating train of thought. Okay, calm, calm, calm. How do you do calm again? Did Ri even know what calm was?! She was externally allegedly growing calmer, but her mind was growing more and more stressed out.

Then apparently the food was supposed to be for Blue. That made sense, hah... People need to eat and that included Blue. She hoped that Blue wasn't under eating. That was bad. That was really bad. Being hungry wasn't fun.

Then Blue offered it to Ri instead, who waved it off. "I'm.... I'm not hungry either." She insisted. She looked at Blue in the eyes. "You eat. You should." After a moment's thought, Ri tacked on a little extra. "Please." She said. Ri.... She didn't want to eat. She needed to calm the fuck down. Apparently anxiety trumps all. Hunger, logic, everything. Aha.... That was terrible. That wasn't funny. So why did Ri feel like laughing?

Ri forced herself to take a deep breath. Her breath shook and she hated it. "I'm.... Fine. Everything's fine." She cast a glance towards the door. "I.... I should go." She murmured, absentmindedly, as if she didn't mean to voice the thought.

Arashi's eyes continued to sparkle. "(That would be really cool! You gotta show me when you get better at it!)" She pleaded, while she continued to bounce in place. She hoped she'd be able to do something cool too when she was older! Ooh, she wished she was older and stronger right now!

Venom hissed at the scene between the humans and the.... Weird skunk kid. Fuck. He cast a glance at the humans, but.... He could sort of guess at what was happening.... But the violence seemed to be over. He guessed.... He could address the weird skunk kid? He was still half-way paying attention to the red-haired human, though......

"(..... I know of your.... Kind. You're supposed to expel poison. Not fire.)" Venom explained, though he didn't sound too happy about it. "(You're not supposed to be breathing fire.)" Then he gazed over at the cactus who was glaring at his human. He hissed wordlessly at the maractus. The older male had instigated. It was totally his fault! "(Sai. Get over here.)" He ordered. He wanted back up if the cactus proved dangerous to his human......

Sai came over without words, eyes focused in on the cactus the entire time. She... Was a little worried as well. She didn't like being ordered around much, but she could tell that the Seviper was getting anxious and concerned. His concern just looked.... Aggressive and weird. Sai wanted to make sure things didn't get too bad as well.... Though, Venom looked infinitely more defensive.
