Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

Nox
Ever since Nox had ventured into the forest with Victor and encountered the little blue Phanpy, Azura had been acting strangely. He had no idea what had occurred when they'd left but Azura had gone from being content to let him carry her back to town to desperately trying to stay behind. Nox had needed to recall her to her pokeball and she'd been excessively interested in going back to the forest ever since. So far, Nox had not let her venture too far and had not wanted to spend a day exploring when he had other things to attend to. But he also couldn't ignore her very obvious desire to get back out there. So he'd resolved to find a time to try and figure out what it was she was so interested in getting back out there for.

He finally picked a day where he could just get away from town for awhile and see if he couldn't figure out what Azura's deal was. Deciding the best place to start was where they'd last seen the Phanpy, Nox headed into the forest, following what he was pretty confident was the path he and Victor had taken until he reached the area where they'd battled the Taillow and encountered the Phanpy for a second time. Of course, the forest looked pretty much the same everywhere he looked but he felt like he was in the right place. He was pretty sure the rock in the middle of the little clearing was the same size and shape of the one the Phanpy had picked up when they'd been there before. Since that was all he had to go on, it was going to have to be good enough.

With that part of his journey over, Nox released Azura from her pokeball. The Popplio took a look around her and Nox immediately saw her perk up. "This is where we last saw that Phanpy. I hope we can find whatever it is you're after." Nox told her as he watched her move in a circle, looking every which way. "Hello? Phanpy? Are you here? I want to go to the pond you told me about. Please come show me." She called out, desperately hoping the Phanpy would be nearby. Or perhaps the Pyukumuku might be around somewhere. If she could just find some pokemon that knew how to find the pond the Phanpy mentioned she would finally be able to swim again! Nox wanted too quiet Azura but he suspected she was trying to call out for the Phanpy. He doubted it was still around but who knew. Maybe it's den was nearby and it would hear her.

When Azura didn't immediately hear any reply (not that she gave it much time), she picked a direction and starting heading into the forest. Maybe her instincts would lead her in the right direction. Or maybe they'd find some pokemon or another that could help show them where the pond was. Either way, she would not leave until they had found it...or Nox recalled her to her pokeball again. She hoped he wouldn't, though since he had no idea what she was looking for he might. He was giving her a chance to look, at least, since he hadn't tried to stop her when she'd started moving off. She didn't have to look to know he was following her, she could hear his footsteps on the ground behind her. "Does anyone know where to find a pond near here?" She called again, only briefly considering that her calls might attract something unfriendly. She felt pretty sure she could defend herself and Nox however, so she didn't worry too much just yet.

The call rang out, echoing lightly into the trees. Though most of the thick plant life around them would absorb the sound and keep it from going too far, those nearby would still be able to hear it. And those with even better hearing would have it ringing in their heads clearly. One such perched on a branch above them, eyes creeping open as the popplio called out, hoping to get information. Calling out to a specific pokemon at first, which meant he need not let it bother his sleep. Eyes creeped closed once again, trying to lull rest back into place. It was the middle of the day after all!

But again the voice called out, and again the pokemon's eyelids dragged open, the owl very displeased with his sleep being bothered. He could wait on something else to come by and deal with the nuisance, but that would take too long and he had no interest in the additional noise. So he extended his wings and hopped off the branch, muscles stretching after having been asleep as the flapped lazily, allowing him to drift down towards the ground. Such a pain, having to not only wake up and talk, but also having to get out of his sleeping spot and fly around. Ugh.

Still, he glided closer to the ground, mind processing the words the water-type mentioned. Shouldn't something so attached to the water know where to find it? This just got more annoying, but he shook it off, turning a bit as his keen eyes searched through the trees. He fluttered to the ground, unable to point out anything for the pokemon while flying. Once he reached the ground, half facing the popplio, one wing tucked in while the other stretched out in a specific direction, pointing diagonally away from them. "There's a large collection of water over there, likely the 'pond' you speak of. Carry on over there then, and allow me my sleep, if you please." He waited just a moment longer, ensuring the pokemon understood his gesture, before flapping his wings once more to get back to his branch. Maybe now he could be left alone to sleep.

Nox
A fluttering sound from above made both Nox and Azura pause. Azura was ready to attack if whatever was coming toward them was dangerous but it was just a sleepy looking Hoothoot that landed in the path with one wing out stretched. Thank you! And I'm sorry for disturbing your sleep. As the bird took flight, Azura gave it a small nod and changed course, heading off in the direction the owl had been pointing. She hoped he hadn't been lying to her. But so far it was the best she had to go on. She'd have to hope she could trust him and he wasn't sending her into some sort of trap.

Nox wasn't sure what was going on but the bird didn't seem to be hostile so he didn't do anything just yet. It hooted at Azura and then...flew away again. Well, at least it wasn't trying to kill them or something. In fact, it seemed like it had helped Azura somehow because she started moving again but had started moving off in a new direction. Whatever she was looking for, he hoped they found it sooner rather than later. They were getting further into the forest than they'd ever been before and he wasn't sure he wanted to know what sort of dangers they might find. They'd been lucky so far and hadn't run into anything other than that bird. He doubted their luck would hold out and they'd manage to make this whole trip without getting into trouble.

As Nox watched Azura moving determinedly along ahead of him, he hoped she wasn't tiring herself out too much. He had never really made her move around on land on her own before, always keeping her in her pokeball or carrying her. But given the circumstances, he wasn't sure carrying her was the best option. She seemed to know where she wanted to go and if he was carrying her he might go the wrong way and they'd end up lost or something. Of course, they might still end up lost if Azura didn't either get where she wanted to go and just kept going. At that moment, Nox was pretty sure he could make it back to town without getting lost but he felt less and less confident the deeper into the forest they got.

As they headed off in the direction they'd been directed, the overgrowth would block their sight. Unfortunately, they wouldn't be able to tell easily whether the owl was earnest or just trying to get them to leave. Either way, they'd find themselves moving through the mostly quiet forest, the air thick with moisture and warmth as they continued. There didn't see to be a lot going on in this section of the forest for the time being, though they likely would find that more comforting than not. And the weather was rather nice for a stroll through the woods.

The peace wasn't to last, however. When they walked towards a tree, focused on finding the lake and hopefully a new friend, they'd have crossed into the wrong territory. Up above their heads, not too much higher than were Nox's head would be, was something golden. It was a little bee hive, and it was directly in their path. Before they could consider finding a new route, there would be a bee that flew around the tree and spotted them, heading quickly with an expression of deep concern. After all, this was a precious hive, and he was tasked with keeping it safe!

He closed the distance a bit, moving quickly towards the pokemon who was in the lead. "No! Go away! This is our hive, and I won't let you hurt it!" In a rash and emotional reaction to their closeness, the bee's wings fluttered hard. Despite the tiny size and fragile structure, the wind picked up from the movement. Soon, a gust attack swished across and at the popplio, attempting to hit her and blow her away. But as the wind moved in, she'd smell it in the air - Moisture, more than normal. It was a sign that there was water nearby, that they were on the right path. It was thick and though Nox might not be able to identify it, the water type would be able to note the difference and indication.

Nox
Nox noticed the strange, golden object in the tree too late. The creature that rounded the tree about the same time Nox was trying to figure out what the thing in the tree was did not appreciate their presence and Nox's immediate conclusion was the the golden thing was the nest of the golden creature. But he had no time to alert Azura or to pick her up and try to move away without trouble. The..whatever it was, had used it's tiny wings to kick up a gust of wind that flew at them, hitting Azura with more force than he'd have expected from such a small creature. Azura was, as expected, not happy about this interruption and reacted by shooting a blast of water at the buzzing thing that had dared attack her. I don't care about your stupid hive. I just want to get to the pond now let us pass." The Popplio shouted, with the scent of water so thick in the air she was a little surprised Nox still didn't seem to know what was going on. But she knew and she knew they were close. This stupid little bee just needed to leave them alone.

Azura ahd reacted to the attack before Nox could even consider what to do. Clearly his little Popplio was determined to get wherever it was she was going. And given how her behavior had changed recently he wasn't about to get in her way now. So if that meant fighting off this odd creature then so be it. Unless...Nox's gaze dropped briefly to the ground and spotted a stone that was just about the right size to throw. He grabbed it and threw without really aiming, hoping mostly to distract the creature that had attacked them so they could leave without further fighting. Except that his aim was way off and he struck the golden colored 'nest' above his head. Well, with any luck that would still distract the thing long enough for him to grab Azura and run.

Water Gun on Combee

The blast of water hit the little bee, who was trying to defend his home. He was shot back a few inches, shaking the water as best he could. Little wings worked tirelessly to keep the pokemon in the air, despite the water crashing and soaking the worker. He also listened to Azura's words. She didn't want to bother his hive, and just wanted to continue. Well, that was all he wanted anyway. He didn't really want to fight in the first place, but was overly defensive given that they'd gotten pretty close. This was what he'd been ordered to do.

He was going to simply let them continue pass, keeping a glaring eye on them to make sure they didn't turn back, but then Nox acted. He didn't notice the human until it was too late, distracted by the water gun that had temporarily blinded him as he closed his eeyes to keep water out. But the rock soared through the air, and all he could do was gasp as it hit its target. The stem holding the golden home tied to the tree broke, and he watched in horror as it fell towards the ground. He buzzed after it, only getting closer as it crashed into the ground, the hive breaking into pieces and alerting the bees inside and above them to the disturbance.

The original guard bee cried out as he moved in on the hive, too distracted by his horror to be angry. But his brethren certainly had the anger piece covered. From around the tree and the now broken hive lying on the ground came a group of pokemon. Three more bees collected, buzzing furiously and incoherently as they tried to assess what happened, and landed their gazes on the human and popplio. And to make matters worse, the queen of the hive lifted from the ground, flying up as she stared daggers at the duo, "THEY'VE DETROYED OUR GREAT HOME! ATTACK!! She was a younger queen, with a newer hive, and this was a tragedy that could not be overlooked. The three new bees and the queen buzzed towards the duo, who had hopefully been running by this point.

Nox
Nox didn't wait to see what happened after the rock had hit the hive. It had served the purpose of distracting the bug and he was getting out of there. He scooped up Azura and took off in the direction she had been heading. He heard buzzing behind him but didn't dare look back to see what was going on. Probably nothing good and he didn't dare take his eyes off of what lay ahead. There was no path here so roots, brush and debris would prove to be treacherous footing if he wasn't paying attention.

Azura, by virtue of being carried, could look back over Nox's shoulder and see what was chasing them. And she did not like what she saw one bit. The smaller bugs she could probably handle but their significantly larger queen was another story. She could tell just by looking that the Vespiquen was much stronger than she was and would definitely beat her with very little effort. Hopefully Nox could outrun this threat or lose it in the forest because there was no way they were going to survive if that thing caught them.

Nox wouldn't stop as long as he could hear buzzing behind him. At least that was what he told himself until he moved around a tree and his feet slid on a small, unexpected incline. He nearly fell but managed to regain his balance, though he very nearly dropped Azura in the process. He paused for a brief second as he registered what lay before him. At the bottom of the little incline he'd nearly fallen down was a pond. One that was large enough for Azura to swim freely in. He had half a second to realize this must have been what Azura was seeing before the buzzing reminded him he didn't have time to stand around. Azura squirmed in his grip and he held on to her tighter as he headed for the water. He didn't know if it would deter whatever was following him but he didn't have many other options. He splashed in until he was about waist deep, finally letting go of Azura as he searched for something that would help. Azura immediately slid under water, disappearing into the pond. He hoped she would be safe enough there. But he was not a Popplio and couldn't hide underwater for who knows how long. Instead, his gaze landed on some bushes and such growing close to the edge of the pond. He splashed over to them and ducked inside, hoping the leaves would conceal him from whatever was after him.

[[this is kind of what I had in mind for what the pond looked like as Nox first saw it. Maybe a bit smaller than what's in the picture but the general idea is there =)]]
