((Main Goal: Get Venom on the path to learn flamethrower. Please don't be turned off if it's weird because I swear it's a good plan oml. He has to start by changing the form of his attacks! Yes yes then the next steps will come later, like making the poison gaseous and then making it be FIRE. BUT THAT COMES LATER PLZ BEAR WITH MEEE))
Venom was admittedly stuck on this little problem in his head. Since the uh.... Explosion inside that human den, the red-haired human had set up her moveable nest outside the human settlement. Which was good, since even he noticed how aggressive and hostile this human settlement seemed to be. The other human settlements didn't seem as dangerous as this one, as most other humans didn't seem to take that much notice of the red-haired human, never mind this aggressive. He really hoped that the red-haired human didn't want to stay too long in the territory of these other humans, who made him think of the more territorial packs of pokemon he knew of back in the rainforest. At least they were outside the settlement.
He was currently outside of the portable nest, staring down at the sand, thinking deeply. He.... Didn't think too much of the human and the conflict she'd encountered with the smaller and the other one who had an odd scent clinging to his skin. There was a lot he didn't think he understood, because he did understand some human tongue but it felt a lot more.... Complicated than maybe he really bothered to understand. Mostly, he knew that the human was now eh..... Not exactly in optimal condition. Instead of doing the things she normally did, which was chatter to fill the silence, go on walks, do anything active..... She sort of sulked inside that nest she was able to carry around with her. That, and she slept even less. Venom thought that humans didn't sleep as much seeing when she slept, but he was really doubting it now. The human was not doing well, and.... Well.... A predator that couldn't get rest wasn't going to be that helpful. She still went out when she needed to, but she seemed to lack a certain energy that Venom knew was there before. So.... Things were kind of weird now. It felt like a lot of things were different, when he didn't think they'd been much just a short while ago. Sai was still... Kind of upset with him, the zebra's hero worship of him seemed to have deflated, and.... Well, the seal was normal as ever. Though, he saw less of her. Likely due to the nature of their environment. He didn't mind it, but now that stupid Pidgey was settling in, and he talked to Sai a lot. So, Sai didn't lose a lot by giving him the cold shoulder. Tch.
The zebra thought he was lame. Hmph. He wasn't lame. Just because he couldn't breathe fire.... Snakes didn't breathe fire. He.... Remembered his mother. At least a little bit. He was pretty proud of his status as a snake, and snakes didn't have to be looked after their parents for too long before they could make their own way in the world. He was pretty sure his mother couldn't breathe fire, and she was a Seviper just like he was. Then again, there was no need for her to display her moves to him. Venom like other snakes, was more or less born with the instincts necessary to make his way in the world as soon as he was born. He was born with some powerful moves that gave him an edge, and it was other pokemon that were born weaker and needed coddling by their parents before they could even have a chance in the world. While Venom was scowling and grumbling under his breath, staring at the ground, he almost didn't notice Sai taking her place and sitting down next to him.
"(.... You know you're just staring at the ground, right?)" Sai asked rhetorically.
"(I'm thinking.)" Venom grumbled. "(About very important topics. I'm not counting the cracks in the ground, if that's what you're wondering.)" He insisted, defending himself, refusing to admit that he felt a little self-conscious about Sai blatantly pointing out that he was staring at nothing.
Sai shifted awkwardly. She cast a glance off to the side. "(.... Do you... Want to talk about it?)" She asked, sounding unsure.
"(I was under the impression that you were done with my alleged bad behavior.)" Venom said, his voice cold.
Sai bristled under the accusation. "(I told you that we weren't done talking.)" She said with a scowl. "(I just needed a break from last time because.... We can't get everything resolved with just one chat.... And it was stressful.)" She said, defending herself.
"(What is there to talk about?)" Venom said, shooting Sai a look.
Sai made a noise of frustration. "(This is part of the problem!)" She shouted at him. "(You refuse to acknowledge that this... That things are just.... It's not okay!)" She insisted loudly. "(I haven't forgotten! Before you acknowledged my strength, you refused to call me by my name! You were unkind, and you put me down whenever you could! Just because you didn't think I was strong or could help you in battle!)" She suddenly kept shouting one thing after another, voicing things that she'd thought about but never said since the days that she was stuck as a weak little psyduck who was only alive because Venom cared about what the human thought, and the human wanted to keep her around. Those days had been hard.... The only one who seemed to actually care about her, she couldn't actually talk to.
Venom was.... Staring at her, and his eyes would be wide if he actually had eyelids. He... Didn't know what to say. Of course he remembered those days. Though, not as clearly and vividly as Sai seemed to. He uncertainly waved his tail behind him. What could he say? "(..... You seem to cling to the past.)" He said, which only earned a loud scoffing sound from Sai.
"(That's because nothing is resolved. You're only treating Arashi and Yuki better than you treated me because I'm here to stop you.)" Sai seemed..... Tired. It showed in her voice, as she seemed like she was.... Weary. It was like she was growing tired of Venom. Was she?
Venom didn't like that idea. He didn't say anything, and Sai continued. "(.... Why did you hate me? Was it really just because I couldn't fight as well as you, and that I don't eat meat?)"

((It's Magby tiiiiiiime rip Flash and Heather for the mandatory hot/dry day tho))
Summer was the polar opposite of Winter. Whereas Winter was liable to freeze your toes off, and kill you with ice running through your veins, Summer had the potential to be suffocating. Cold air you could practically feel in your lungs, while hot air was the kind you choked on. On particularly hot days, it was easy to feel like you couldn't breathe, especially if you added humidity on top of it. Fortunately, humidity was more a consistent plague of Great West Forest as opposed to Great East Forest. Still, the Summer heat spared no one across Terrene. Summer was one season that had its ways of touching every corner of the land, while Winter was repelled by the very nature of the land that Ashfield City and Oasis Village had been established upon.
Flash was not appreciating the searing heat that beat down upon him. With a borrowed fishing pole in hand, he was sitting down on a riverbank, that he could almost swear seemed lower than it had when he last came here. He was supposed to be doing his job and catching fish to give to his cousins' store to sell. Though, he wasn't getting even the slightest nibble. He was sitting on the side, so his shadow was cast away from the river, so he didn't think the fish would be scared away. So, he guessed all the fish were somewhere else. Flash lightly groaned. Heather was also staring intently at the river bank, knees bent and eyes determined, as if he planned to pluck any nearby fish straight out of the water. Though, Flash didn't think that Heather usually hunted fish, as he seemed to be more drawn to looking for food away from the water.
Flash wiped away with the back of his palm some sweat off his forehead. He absentmindedly licked at his dry lips. He absentmindedly if his skin could crack from the sheer heat and dryness of the day. He bet the fish were all hiding somewhere.... Lucky fish. Water was always cooler than the air. Still.... If there were no fish here, Flash had to go. Flash stood up with a grunt. "C'mon, Heather. Let's check another river."
Flash walked away from the riverbank with his borrowed fishing pole in hand, and Heather quickly speeding to walk at his side. The other river fishing spot that Flash liked to frequent that was nearest to his current location was still a ways away, he'd be walking through the dry, dry forest for at least fifteen minutes before he arrived at his destination.... That is, if he wasn't interrupted on the way.

Ri did not consider the desert to be her favorite place. Oh, of course from a perfectly objective standing point that removed literally all factors aside from her curiosity.... She was glad to be here. It was different than anything she'd ever seen, and the heat and the dryness couldn't tamp down too much on her interest. It was the immense amount of stress that Ri felt like she was about to be crushed under that was giving her a massive headache. Not a literal headache, but it was comparable to one. Oasis Village was full of shit people, and there was no one there she wanted to deal with. The natives were either gang members or sympathetic with them. There were very few immigrants there, and Ri didn't want to deal with Blue right now. She just didn't. It was confusing and stressful, and Ri couldn't clear her damn head when she was pretty sure dust somehow got in her ears. This whole place was a literal hell hole in Ri's opinion.
So while the desert was pretty barren..... It was also quieter and free of human glares and human-related stress. That is.... Unless some jackass showed up. Ri hoped that wouldn't happen because she needed some fucking peace. She'd been walking for a while since picking a direction from Oasis to keep walking. She figured the farther away, maybe the more her head would get a fucking rest already. That, and gang members wouldn't be coming to try and beat her up or something this far out.... Right? Ugh, she hoped they weren't seriously that crazy or filled with hatred that they'd scour the entirety of Desert fucking Strip looking for immigrants to leave bleeding out by some rock.
Ri didn't have Arashi or Yuki out. Yuki wouldn't like this dry place. She couldn't.... She couldn't deal or entertain Arashi as she would need to right now. So, instead she was holding Sai in her arms. It was... Comforting, and she didn't think Sai minded being held. She didn't carry Sai like this as much anymore but.... Sai's feathers were soft and she preferred being close to Sai than to any human she knew.... Yes, even over Blue. Like always, Venom slithered behind her, following her footsteps. Venom seemed to adjust to the scrublands best out of her pokemon. She'd seen Andy try in vain to get the dust and sand out of his feathers, before giving up and trying again later. Andy was currently flying above them, though he was still staying close. That was good. Ri sighed a deep, breathy sigh.

The sun was going down and Ri was wandering around. She wasn't really sure why.... She just.... She needed some time alone to herself. She did value her alone time, even if she did.... She did like having someone to talk to. Right now, the only visible pokemon she was with were Venom who slithered after her, and Andy who soared close to her. She was glad he didn't immediately go around booking it.... Since she was pretty sure that Sai would be upset. She briefly wondered when she should try again to offer the pokeball to Andy. She wanted it to be his choice.... One day, anyway, she was sure. Not.... Not any day soon. He'd rejected it fairly recently anyway, so she'd be waiting for a while. Anyway, for now she was okay. People would probably not assume he wasn't bound to a pokeball and try to catch him for themselves. Besides, if anyone tried.... Ri could take care of it probably. Probably. If all else failed, she could enlist Venom's help to get the offender to fuck off.
The world was getting a little dimmer, so Ri figured it must be pretty damn late. Daylight hours tended to last forever in the Summer. She took a deep breath. She was.... Starting to get used to all the glaring. She supposed.... It wasn't the worst. Ri wondered what it said about her that she'd be more unnerved if they'd all been.... Warm and friendly. The glares she could deal with. Anger was a great response, and Ri knew anger well, she figured. She sighed, as she continued to drag her feet across the sandy dirt ground. She wasn't even sure where she was going. She found her feet taking her towards the edge of Oasis Village, and she wasn't sure what..... She guessed she was exploring. She didn't know much about Oasis Village's layout and structure, so she guessed exploring was fine. At least with the day winding down, less people meant less eyeballs for glaring at her like she was some stain on the land that should be thrown into the sea to never be seen again.
She sighed as she walked. She wasn't feeling super enthusiastic about.... Anything. She was just tired. Tired mentally, emotionally, and maybe a bit physically.... She hadn't really slept on her way from the mountains anyway. Venom was dutifully slithering by her side, but he kept glancing up at her. She wondered if snakes could sense how healthy you were. She didn't think consistent sleep deprivation was healthy.... But her sleeping patterns were about as shit as they always were. She sighed again.@AjSol

((Don't mind the title.... It's a really cool phrase okay))
Ri was not aware that being glared at all the time could be this fucking exhausting. Even she wasn't this fucking cranky! Did these people have grumpiness written into their souls?! She was pretty sure she got the gist now, confirming the few rumors she'd heard in passing, considering she didn't talk to many. Oasis fucking hating immigrants with a burning passion that couldn't quite be captured in hearsay and rumor. That, and Ri apparently screamed immigrant with her very presence. What was it? Her valuable bracelets that probably weren't made in Terrene, because who the fuck wasted metal on fancy jewelry rather than something useful? Her clothes which were also pretty obviously not fucking Terrenenian clothes. Probably all of the above.
Fuck this place. She was going to leave this place was soon as possible.... With Blue in tow of course. She wasn't leaving Blue in a shit hole like this alone. Blue was literally the reason she came here. It'd kind of defeat the purpose to leave without her.
Though, for now Ri was standing on the edge of the outskirts of the village, trying to get a fucking break from a mix of dirty and greedy looks. Very much appreciated if people would quit ogling her possessions and probably plot to murder her and leave her body in a ditch somewhere.
Of course, her pokemon were with her. Just Venom, Sai, Arashi, and Andy, though. Yuki was in her pokeball..... Even though she wasn't moving around right now, she might soon and ah.... She thought about the blob-like water-type pokemon. Then she stared at the ground. Yeah, nope. Yuki would not appreciate this, and Ri would let her out later.... Maybe. This place was just dirty and hot and would dehydrate Yuki. Absentmindedly, she thought it might be nice to let Yuki explore the ocean.... Neither Sai nor Yuki had seen the sea.... They should get the chance. She made a mental note to do that when she could.
She normally would stare at the sky... But the sky was fucking bright thanks to the blinding sun, that even staring at the open blue was stressful on her eyes. She was settling for sitting her ass in the dirt and staring across the way at more sandy dirt. Venom was curled loosely around her, similarly just... Laying there in the dirt and sand, Sai sitting on her rump next to him, and Andy next to her. Arashi was the only one still bounding around, apparently exploring the strangeness of this new dirt.... That honestly, was new to Arashi.
Ri sighed, sounding a little more content than earlier. She had a soft smile. Arashi's energy was always.... Pretty cute actually. It always was good for cheering up.@Kaien
