Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

It was with a suddenness that the young female found herself somewhere new. The first moment the air had hit her face, her eyes had been tightly closed, as if afraid she'd picked the wrong token after all. Perhaps it was a disaster-filled occasion. Perhaps she had made the wrong move. Perhaps . . . . why did she feel like there was something worse that could happen, somewhere worse she could be. Why did it feel like she was forgetting. That thought alone was the thought that seemed to spin her towards a more rational point. Her mind seemed to collect together and take stock of things, ignoring the wind around her for a moment. All her appendages where together. She herself was obviously in one piece but something felt wrong.

She went to categorize her mind, ignoring the small voice in her head that questioned why she was doing such a thing. But, the problem became more apparent . . . as she found a lack of memories to sort through. In fact, she found next to nothing, memory wise at all. She didn't have much time to worry about her sudden lack of a past, before she felt something below her bare feet. Wasn't she wearing shoes before? Shoes that the voice had directed her towards.

Cine slowly opened her eyes, blinking back the sun as she glanced down at her feet, jumping back in a startled surprise to see her bare feet indeed. Settling down on the grass, she felt the tied strong of the grudgy old shoes slung over her shoulder. At least she still had them, though they remained in just as bad of a condition as the rest of her attire, holey and worn, with rips and streaks of mud and dirt. Why were her clothes in such bad repair, what had happened?

Again, her mind remained empty. No help there, not even a little bit. "Rufflet. Let?" The voice appeared out of nowhere, right next to her left shoulder, and Cine jumped to the side in alarm, turning her head in a rapid motion so her curls were flung against her cheek, the self-induced attack stinging slightly. Her eyes met those of a small flying type, and she stared at it momentarily in silence. The bird tilted it's head, before speaking again, it's voice less questioning more demanding, "Rufflet. Let Rufflet-Ruff." Cine blinked for a few moments, before sighing faintly, "Can I help you, little one?" She asked after a moment.

The response was immediate, a sharp PECK to the hand that left her wincing and drawing her hand to her chest, "Ouch! That hurt!" The Rufflet flapped it's wings once, bopping it's head down in a single swift motion, before giving her another look, "Rufflet. Ruff." Francine took a deep breath in, before releasing it in a huff. "Rufflet, I don't speak Poke-nese. Or what not. What do you want of me?" She asked in exasperation. However, it wasn't the right response as the next reaction from the Rufflet was to LEER at her, causing Cine to flinch back slightly before the pieces finally seemed to connect together, "Er . . . are you . . . mine?"

Clearly the question was not appreciated. Another PECK was delivered to her hand, fulled by a "RUFF." PECK "LET." PECK "RUFF-RUFF" PECK "RUFFLET" As the Rufflet went to peck again, upset at not being immediately welcomed, Cine did the first thing she could think off, and that was to scoop the small bird up in her arms and cuddle it to death - or rather to acceptance, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, forgive me, forgive me. Everything's a bit foggy." She coo-ed. After a few minutes of wing-flapping and shrieks, the Rufflet finally seemed to settle down, nestling into her wrap, and gently nuzzling against her face. Just a brief little nuzzle that was quickly followed by another PECK to the hands.

This time Cine let the small bird type go, instead moving to stand up, the small Rufflet immediately taking position next to her. Instinct guided Cine's hand to a ball, a click of the center button resulting in a stream of red light engulfing the Rufflet before it disappeared into the ball. She hesitated for a moment, staring at the captured Rufflet, hating the sudden absence, and wondering how cramped it must be inside the ball. Was it really that humane to place it there. And why had she done such a move so carelessly, and with out thinking. Who would do such a move. Immediately the button was clicked again, and this time the small bird was released, once more returning to the spot it was standing, and flapping it's wings in annoyance, before LEER-ing at the ball this time, as if offended by the semblance of taming it gave off.

Cine chuckled lightly, hiding the amused smile behind the back of her hand, as the Rufflet turned it's LEER towards her, "Sorry, you're just so cute. I won't put you back in there, okay. You can hang out, out here, with me - yeah? What do you say?" Immediately the Rufflet gave a sharp nod, flapping it wings quickly. A few flaps later the Rufflet was airborne, gliding towards her shoulder, where it landed calmly. Cine grinned in response, using her fingers to gently scratched beneath the Rufflet's beak, and chest feathers. "You're quite the wild little thing, aren't cha?" She asked in amusement, before her eyes lit up, "Wild, that'll be your name!" At the bird's look, she grinned back, "No, not Wild. Ferox, it means wild. What do you think Ferox?" She paused again, her expression suddenly shifting, the holes - or rather huge black hole - in her memory once more blaringly obvious, "Although, how did I know that's what Ferox meant."

Another heavy sigh, "I'll worry about it later. We need to figure out where we are, first and foremost, ya?" She stated, glancing towards Ferox after a moment, "Any idea where we might be?" She added. The Rufflet shifted the feathers of it's wings before flapping them a few times, followed by a rough and quick shake of it's head. Sighing heavily, Cine nodded one, "I had thought not, but it was worth asking." The Rufflet seemed to stare at her with an expressionless look, as if to silently question the rationality of the statement, why ask a question you already knew the answer to?

Cine ruffled the Rufflet's feather's ignoring the annoyed caw of "Ruff!" as the flying type flapped it's wings in an attempt to ward of her hands. Cine laughed softly, smiling at the pokemon, enjoying it's antics, and easily finding that they'd be likely to mesh well, personality wise, even if the Rufflet appeared to be a bit more wild and independent. "Well, Ferox. Let's just start walking and see where we end up yeah?"

The Rufflet responded with a slight shuffle of it's beak against her hair, and Cine took that as an affirmative before setting off in a rather random direction, hoping to be heading in the right direction. "Well, Ferox, I suppose I might as well figure out a bit more about you, huh? I can tell you already know Peck and Leer, having had both used against me." The young woman stated with a fond smile towards the pokemon she was beginning to really enjoy, "Do you know anything else. I'm not sure what level you're at . . . so . . . Uhm, let's see. Level 5, I think would be . . . Fury Attack."

Rufflet perked up a little at the words, glancing to her as if asking if it was an order or not. Cine smiled and grinned, "There ain't anything to really attack right now, silly." Rufflet eyed her a moment, and the young woman sighed, "You want to show off don't you!" She stated, her tone exasperated as she looked around for something. Finally finding a felled tree a few feet away from them, she pointed it out, "Alright, Ferox. Fury Attack on that tree." She commanded.

"Ruff!" Rufflet cawed as it lunged from her shoulder, immediately swooping over the log, it's talon's slicing into the tough wood once. Twice. And then that was it. A move that could hit two to five times, and . . . he hit twice. Sighing, the young woman looked at Rufflet for a moment as he tilted his head, now perched on the log and looking triumphant, and couldn't help but smile, "Good job, Ferox." She praised, choosing to instead focus on the fact Rufflet had obeyed at all, and been eager to do so as well.

Ferox cawed again, "Let! Rufflet!" This time hopping the short distance to her, before flying the short distance up to her shoulder, and once again perching there. "Alright, well, you know Fury Attack. That means you are at least level five. Uhm, I'm pretty sure it's Wing Attack next, don't ask how I know this, but I'm fairly certain of it. Anyway . . . that's level . . . 8? No, ten. Anyways. Do you know Wing Attack?" Ferox merely tilted his head in confusion, and Cine sighed slightly, "You know, wing attack!" She repeated, this time flapping her own arms, in a quick session.

Once again Ferox gave her a confused look, although there was a touch to those black irises that made her feel like he might be amused with her. "Alright, I'll take that as a no. So, you're somewhere between Five and Ten. I'm guessing Five, that seems standard for a starter, and I feel like that's what you might be. My personal starter. Now . . . back to the harder part to figure out. Where we are." It was then that Cine realized they had stopped moving a while back, when Ferox had wanted to show off his Fury Attack for her, and the young woman sighed, before turning back onto what she could now see was beginning to look like a trail.

The two walked in silence for a while, although Cine was frequently petting the bird on her shoulder, a faint smile on her face; and gradually the trail turned into a distinct way, and then a path, and finally a dirt road, the beginning of structures growing visible in the distance. The structures turned into buildings as she continued to near what appeared to be a city, and Cine glanced briefly up at Ferox, "Well, might as well see where we are . . . maybe someone can give us a clue on how we, or at least I, got here. And why I seem to know stuff, but have no memory of learning it, or really . . . any memories at all." She said after a short time.

The Rufflet nodded it's head once, eyes watching and shoulders seeming to straighten as it sat with a prideful watch from her shoulder, "Alright then . . . Let's go." Even as she stepped into the city though, Cine wanted to return to the wild beyond. Cities, it felt, where not her thing, and the uneasiness she felt around the other humans more so. Her hand stayed resting against Ferox, lightly stroking his chest feathers as she glanced around, and began to explore the town, mentally mapping it out and trying to piece together a plan for survival, and hopefully a means of surviving outside of a city - any city.

Francine Doell, or Cine as she will forcefully tell anyone who uses her full name, is a sweetheart, a doll, a darling little girl. She holds her cards close to her heart, however, so this is usually the face she presents to most others. A lovely young women, friendly and open and willing to converse, and partake in idle chit chat with just about anyone she runs across. However, she's rarely around other people (if she has much of a choice for it) so few see her when she's not around other humans.

Truly, Cine is a bit shy, and can even show some social awkwardness when a situation or conversation turns into unfamiliar, or uncharted territory. She's almost detached when it comes to relationships with other humans, rarely letting them in close to her, preferring to keep her pokemon closer than other humans. She was raised, by in the old universe, separated from other humans a lot, and usually around pokemon, and so she didn't have any social skills to transfer with her when her memories vanished.

She is very friendly though, but unfortunately her lack of interaction with others also has her usually showing signs of an oblivious nature (heaven help her should anyone try to flirt with her, she wouldn't notice it if you hit her in the face with a valentine)!. She tends to be very gullible as well, and can be too trusting in situations. While she does try to work with in logic, believing what she sees has evidence, she can be swayed by fancy words relatively easily, should one appeal to the right side of her. It's up to you to figure out what that right side might be, as it varies from situation to situation.

This girl is an adventurer though, and when she's not around humans in a city, she's off exploring. Unfortunately, she can be foolhardy and compulsive, taking off on a nearly abandoned, half grown over trail not yet noticed by others because of the thrill and curiosity that spurs her forward. She has little self-awareness (and is far more likely to injure herself before deciding to stop taking a dangerous path), She does live for the thrill of adventure and discovery, so don't be surprised if she suddenly disappears for a few weeks at a time.

Friends: I'm hoping that as Cine grows around humans, opens up more and learns to interact more properly with them, she'll grow closer to others (she has some foolish ideas for how pokemon should be treated that need to be corrected, and influenced anyways). She's friendly enough to get a long with most people she comes across, so it shouldn't be too hard to get her to open up, once people start working on easing their way past her walls to her heart.

Family: Cine hasn't had family in a long time - they had passed on long before the old universe began to crumble, so she feels no emptiness, or even like she's missing someone. So she's unlikely to be searching for pseudo-family members. But hey, if you think your character might make a good pseudo-sister or brother, then let me know.

Lovers: Cine . . . is . . . Cine is so oblivious, this girl wouldn't know the difference between flirting and talking. Love and Lust. Or anything else. She has NO romantic experience, besides a few stolen kisses from her MUCH younger youth. So, if you want to go after her heart . . . well, I wish ya a lot of luck and patience. It'll take time for get her to realize you are making advance, and even longer for her to believe they're sincere. On that note, this isn't the type of girl to do one night stands, and the likes either. When she does finally decide to go after a romance, it'll be for the intention of a long connection.

Enemies: Lastly, enemies. It's likely to happen. Everyone has someone they just instantly hate. Beyond that, Cine is likely to make enemies, especially when it comes to her current beliefs regarding wild pokemon, and how she hates using balls to capture them. Though, besides that, with Cine's kindness, and friendliness, I'd be more open to ideas for make enemies than suggesting ideas. It's hard to imagine Cine making enemies on purpose, let a lone by accident. She'd probably be more confused than anything else if someone decided to hate her, she wouldn't know how to react.

The world around her was chaos. One look through the cracked frames of her once carefully kept black glasses, and that was the first thing you’d notice. Pure chaos. Flames licked up the barks of some of the nearby trees. The fire quickly ate up every little thing it could touch. Bark of trees, the leaves and grass. Small bushes once heavy with ripe fruit. Now, the fire seemed to the only color in this once vibrant forest. Beyond the rich reds, oranges and yellow, was nothing but greys and blacks of dead trees, and empty, dirt where grass once grew free. The world around her was dead, or dying. The final attempts of life being cast into death with each flicker of a flame. She found only a small amount of pleasure in knowing that the life with in this forest had left long ago. No wayward Pokémon would be caught by those flames.

But if she stayed much longer, she would be. She turned and continued to walk, her scruffy and dirty tennis shoes hitting the ground in a slightly un-even pattern, exhaustion warring at her mind. She never slept much these days. Too much time in one place could lead to death. The only way to outrun the chaos was to keep moving. So, move she did. And her appearance reflected that. Her tennis shoes were bare thin, dirty and coated in mud, the once vibrant green and yellow designs now long hidden under the many layers of grime. Her jeans were ripped in places, the bottoms caked in mud and dust, and dirt stained the knees and seat of the pants. Her shirt was in no better condition, tears from wayward branches that clung to her when she tried to pass.

Even her once carefully kept auburn hair was a mess of tangles, small twigs and dead leaves clinging to the mess that had once upon a time been beautifully behaved curls. The two streaks of color on the right side of her face had faded, barely visible beneath the grime. With the state of her clothing, the mess of her hair, and the crack in her glasses: it was obvious that running was all she was doing now-a-days.

There was little else to do in this world, but to run and struggle to survive. This place, this land she once called home had turned into anarchy many years ago. Humans hunted humans. Pokémon hunted humans, and cities. Companions turned on trainers. Nowhere felt safe in this scary world. Nowhere was safe. Another clap of thunder brought her blue hued gaze up to the sky, taking in the gathering clouds, watching the sky grow darker. The depth of the clouds continued to block out the sun, casting the world around her into a deeper darkness. Another zing of lightning, and she watched as another nearby tree caught flame. I need to get out of this forest.

It was a wayward thought, but an acknowledgement that this storm seemed intent on burning the world around her to the ground. Turning her gaze ahead, her fingers drew up to the fossilized tooth around her neck, holding it briefly, ignoring the faint prick to her fingers as the rigged, sharp edges threatened to pierce skin. Removing her fingers, she glanced around the burning forest before taking off at a run this time, deciding the sooner she made her way to the forest edge, the better.

The forest around her seemed to grow darker by the second, only to be lit up again as the fire began to jump from tree to tree, spreading and eating as it went. The formerly cold world was quickly warming up around her, and she could feel the start of sweat developing at the back of her neck. A faint grit of teeth was all Francine allowed to acknowledge the state of the situation around her. She couldn’t focus on it, she needed to focus on finding the end of the forest. The darkness was quickly being chased away by a red-hue that seemed to quickly be overtaking the forest. Flames danced in the corners of her vision, threatening to engulf her as well, as it leapt to cover more distance, the growing closeness of the trees providing a faster method of travel for the flames.

Soot began to grow in the air, carried on the winds, as it painted new stains on her already drudgy wear. She paid it no mind, she’d stopped carrying about her appearance a few years ago. She stopped bothering to stop for showers a few months ago. She stopped trying to live, in these times it was just a fight to survive. A fight that was becoming harder by the day. This wasn’t the first place she’d watched get destroyed by natural events.

It had started with the turning of tables, and anarchy within humanity, and the Pokémon. But it had only escalated from there. Waters had risen, claiming territory back from the land, many of the coastal villages being taken by to sea. Including the one she’d spent the final year of her father’s life in with him. The place where he had been buried, it now sat below many, many yards of water, guarded by hostile water Pokémon. She’d never be able to visit his resting place again. The years had dulled that pain, though.

With the loss of coastal villages, many of the mountain villages were next, volcanoes erupting, and destroying habitats, homes and lives as the lava spilled down the sloping sides. Now, the skies were beginning to split, claiming forests with the lightning rage. Forests like the one she was in now. Sweat bled into her eyes, stinging them as she fought to ignore the pain from the salty liquid as she caught a glimpse of light in the darkness ahead of her. An end of this forest. She neared the end, watching the fire climb up to the limbs above the entrance, threatening to drop the fire-heavy wood to prevent her escape. Eyes widened, and with a burst of speed she jumped through the opening, tumbling down the hill just outside of the forest as the wood came splintering down behind her.

Pain bit at her exposed bits of flesh as she rolled down a rocky hill, landing hard at the bottom as she sat still for a moment to catch her breath. Glancing up, she could see the forest above lit up with the fiery hues, flames licking at the sky, growing nearly twice the height of the forest they fed on. Another piece of nature stolen. Another bit of land gone. Another strike for chaos. Cine briefly shut her eyes, forcing a deep breath to leave her lungs before she tested each limb, making sure she hadn’t hurt herself too much from the tumble. Beyond a few new scrapes, however, she seemed good to go.

Standing up, and dusting as much of the soot off her clothes as she could, and double checking that her backpack was alright – minus a bit of singe on the leather, she continued forward, absentmindedly spreading the soot on her cheeks with the back of her hands. She had to be a sight to see. She moved forward, attempting to figure out where she was without many of the landmarks she would have once relied on. It was hard enough figuring out north from south these days. The constantly switching magnetic forces didn’t help much either. It was an honest surprise to her that the world was still held together at all. It was nothing short of a miracle.

A slight tang in the back of her throat, a growing dryness alerted her of how hot that fire had been, feeling the first onset of dehydration. Without missing a step, she pulled the water bottle from the side of her bag, uncorking it and taking a sip, careful to reserve as much for later as possible. It was hard to find clean water since these ‘ends of times’ had begun. Too many of the rivers, and lakes had turned acidic. Even the sky – ripe with a green color – showed signs of acidity. It was what led her to be grateful that it was merely a lightning storm now, not a full thunderstorm, even if the rain would have dulled the fire. The acid rain that would have fallen would have done her no aid.

A quiet sigh left her, realizing how much her life really had changed in these recent years, how she really had gone from living . . . to merely surviving. Nowhere was safe these days, and chaos seemed to hide around every corner, trapped in a world of turmoil. Her fingers briefly touched her necklace again, her gaze moving to the emerald sky above, trying to ignore the unnatural color to the clouds, imagining the vibrant sun, and bright blue sky that must be above it – the only hope she had to hold onto, a better tomorrow. Father, I think it’s getting later now. I’ll have to rest soon. I’m struggling today. I almost wasn’t quick enough. The flames came to fast in that forest. It was a habit that had kept her sane during these years of solitude as she fought to find a safety that no longer existed. She spoke to her father often in this manner, imagining that he was watching, and protecting her from the world beyond. Silently grateful he’d passed away long before the world had succumbed to this madness.

Her father wouldn’t have ran like she did. He would have tried to fight to save others. Unfortunately, there weren’t any others left to be saved. Not really. The world had long turned dog-eat-dog. It was one for themselves, in these days. And she was barely managing it. Her father was a far gentler soul than her. He’d have not made it this long. No, better that he died peacefully in his sleep, years before the first hint of chaos, than for him to had suffered for even a day in this world. I miss you father. I keep looking for some of our favorite places while I . . . travel. Nothing is recognizable anymore. Her thoughts returned to the man she imaged she was talking to her, her steps carrying her almost carelessly in a random direction.

It was pointless to try and make your way to a particular destination. There were no more roads in these days, there was no more anything. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d seen a . . . . her eyes grew wide in astonishment as she stepped into onto a cobblestone road, eyeing the gray stone beneath her. She hadn’t seen one of these in nearly a year. She took another step, so both feet where settled on the stone before slowly squatting down to touch it. Impossible. And yet, it was clearly cobblestone beneath her fingertips. Standing sharply, she looked around before her eyes grew larger.

There, in front of her. It was a standing city. Not the crumbled ruins she’d seen lately. But a real, standing city. Every fiber of her being tried to tell her to ignore it, to move on. But she couldn’t stop. She took another step, passing into another rift of time, ignoring the shudder of her skin as she stepped back a few years in time. Moving forward, the world around her seemed washed out. The grass grew, but it was a diluted green, just a faint hint of color to the stalks.

A lone Pidgey cooed from the back of a pale hued brown bench, it’s colors nearly grayed out, the plumage seeming to be a variety of grays. She barely gave a thought to the colors, too used to the abstract world of today, where one moment colors could be neons, and in the next, it was black and white. At least this city held a touch of normal to the colors. Her gaze shot up, and she sighed in dismay at still seeing the angry, green sky. Thunder reminded her of the upcoming storm, and she took off at a run again, knowing she couldn’t wait much longer, the rain would come soon. Already the Pokémon around her where diving for cover.

The first drop of her skin burned, and only a few more drops hit before she dived through a broken door into an abandoned building. Hissing, she looked over the red sections of her skin, relieved that it hadn’t been worse, before she quietly made her way to the back of the house, as far from the windows, and doors as she could get. There wasn’t much else she could do, not with the rain falling. Might as well try to get a few minutes of sleep.. She took off her backpack at that point, unrolling her sleeping bag and laying it on the ground before crawling into it, and wrapping her arms around her backpack as she used it as a pillow, hoping to get a few minutes of peaceful sleep before the nightmares would start. A few minutes would be better than nothing.

FRANCINE CARAH DOELL

Twenty Eight - Female - Straight

Appearance

Image Credit: Francine's Image was credited for my character, Francine, by a dear friend of mine, Anngel_. She's an amazing artist and my go to for all of my character's images.

Francine, or Cine as she prefers, is a pretty thing. Tall, and willowy, this young explorer stands at about five foot nine inches, and weighs around one hundred and twenty five pounds. She's a very pale in color (not surprising as she's a bit of a red-head [auburn] individual), with some very faint freckling on her arms and face - usually only visible when she has a more serious tan. She's a very thin individual, with long arms, legs, and a slight hourglass figure, just enough for the impression of a womanly figure, but not so noticable to be all curves). Her fingers are described as long, as well, and in a former life she'd have been often asked if she was a musician (she is NOT, being very tone deaf).

Once you get past her general build, her beauty only continues from that point. Her hair is long and curly, falling to about mid-back, and when straightened stops just above her hips (not that one can straighten in this world and it's backways technology - not that she'd mind if she remembered that ability anyways). She tends to wear her hair partially tied back (usually to keep it out of her face), and it's not uncommon to see a braid on the right side of her face. On the left side - she has two strips of color, one green, and one yellow that she doesn't feel complete with out (literally, this girl was determined to put color in her hair when she first came over. She felt naked with out it and spent weeks trying to figure out how to use grass and flowers to add color into her hair. She was obsessed with it!). Her hair is rarely pulled up completely, unless she's hard to work, and even then she avoids buns like a plague, rather doing messy twists or pony tails (high, never low).

Her eyes are a pale blue in color, and tend to always sparkle with joy and youth. They are slightly oval shaped, with a delicate tilt down on the inner corners. Framed by dark lashes, her eyes are one of her best features, or so she likes to think, and say (mainly due to a dislike of what she calls a tomboy figure). She does wear glasses - although her vision is nearly perfect, she does suffer from severe night blindness and they are her go to method when doing ANYTHING at night.

When it comes to style, this woman prefers fall colors, usually sticking to golds, reds, browns, and tans. Yellow and Gold are her go to colors, and can easily be described as her favorite color as well. She's partial to t-shirts, and tank tops, usually with a pale tan leather jacket, or vest, pulled over. She's usually found in shorts, or pants (pants being her go-to), and is only seen in dresses or skirts on special occasions. Typically you'll find her tennis shoes, or hiking boots (which are more similar to moccasins than boots, but it feels a bit more like a habit to call them boots).

When it comes to winter time, you'll find her in pants and her moccasin-boots and a long sleeve shirt at almost all times. She also has a black coat with white fur on the inside that she wears for warmth (she has a tendency to get cold easily). She has a similar insert for her boots that she adds when she goes out and about, to keep her feet warm.

Lastly the only accessories you'll usually see her with is her trusty backpack for exploring, and a necklace that she cannot (for the life of her) remember receiving, but it does make her heart swell with warmth when she sees it. It's a black tooth, large, on a black cord that hangs around her neck. If she had the ability to remember her previous life, she'd know it was the final gift her father had given her before passing away, and was a tooth of one of her favorite rumored extinct dinosaur: Archeops.

Personality

Francine is many things in life, but there are a few characteristics that help to define her.

Curious, Cine is a very curious individual, and it's this curiosity in life that often spurs her into motion. With a never ending curiosity, she loves to learn new things, explore new ideas and locations - constantly wanting to see what is over that next hill, that next tree line, that next city. Life is a constant adventure to her, and her curiosity is the fuel that keeps her energized.

Brave, you can't find anyone more brave than Cine, well: you probably could. but. For the sake of this Personality display, we need to bring up her Bravery. Cine is a fairly brave individual, who isn't the sort to shy away from an altercation, or hide from something. To her, fear is just another object to conquer to move forward further. She just can't help but show that brave face and keep moving forward.

Playful and Friendly, here at this point I feel these to will go hand in hand. CIne is a very friendly individual, making friends with easy, and always having a friendly word to say to anyone. She's also extremely playful, and it's not uncommon to see her playing with children, or even her own pokemon. She believes that the best way to interact with others is to always give them a friendly smile and treat them as you want to be treated.

Helpful, Cine is a very helpful individual (more so to pokemon than people though). She is the sort who would bend over backwards to help someone in need, or give someone the jacket off of her back should she need to (she'd give someone her shirt too, but she'd also be a bit concerned with public indecency in such a situation, so her jacket would have to work). She's the type who would take in an injured pokemon purely to help them and heal them, before allowing them to leave. She gives with out expecting a gift in return, and believes fully in karma to support her beliefs and actions.

Superstitious, on the note of karma, Cine is very superstitious, being the sort who believes in karma to begin with. She also is the sort to be cautious of bad omens around her to the point that she'd alter her course, or take a more unknown trail just for seeing what she might describe as a 'bad news sign' on the more normal and well-mapped trail.

Adventurer, through much of the rest of her personality, this trait has been linked in and out, and it is perhaps her most notable and distinct trait. This woman is an adventurer, to the point that she hates staying in one place for too long. She loves to see what is around her, and lives for that next great journey. She can't help but feel an odd, and hard to explain need to explore, see and discover.

Cine vs. Humans, when it comes to how Cine interacts with other humans, she is usually a very respectful and friendly person. She treats others by the golden rule treat them the way you'd want to be treated. She is a bit more cautious with others, however, having a tendency to keep them a bit further away from her. While she is friendly, she isn't the sort to let people close. Her heart, just like her mind, is a well guarded cage that most others aren't likely to get close to. This is likely to avoid having an attachment that might one day force her to curb her wanderlust life style.

Cine vs. Trainers, when it comes to Trainers, especially when she sees not in a town and comes across them, Cine is far more likely to stay out of their way with a single solitary nod of respect. She doesn't like interacting with Trainers who just want to battle and prove their own prowess - especially when she runs into those who might be more likely to ignore their own pokemon's needs, or distress, for a victory. However, when she does have to take on another player in a battle, she is the sort who will do her best (for herself, her opponent, and all pokemon involved) to win fairly, or lose fairly.

Cine vs. Wild Pokemon, Wild Pokemon are often treated with respect when it comes to Cine, and she's far more likely to keep at a distance, silently making her own remarks to their behavior and life style (a habit she doesn't understand, but feels necessary to do), and sketches of them, than to jump forward to try and capture them. She is a strong believer that Wild Pokemon are Wild Creatures that you shouldn't try to just jumping at and capturing because you want it. It's for this reason that her go to method is to try to win a Pokemon over, and befriend them rather than battle them and force them to join her. She's very pro-choice about capturing vs. not capturing a pokemon. Of course, she's also the sort to not back down from a battle either, and will give her all in a battle, rather than disrespect the pokemon by taking it easy on them.

Cine vs. Her Pokemon, when it comes to the pokemon that Cine calls her own, there is no lack of love or affection she might show them. She's the sort who is very empathetic to them, and will always try to do right by them. She will often refer to them as her family, or her friends; rather than her pokemon. She's not afraid of spending a few extra coins, or trading a well loved item if it means doing better for her pokemon. Her mission in life, when it comes to raising her pokemon is to understand them better, and to do right by them.

History

Cine's Past Life

Before coming to this new universe, Francine was born Francine Noelle Andre, and was the only child to an explorer and scientist who made it his life goal to understand pokemon better. From the time Francine was old enough to go out and about with him, she was helping him on his expeditions to study and record their behaviors and actions, and it's from her father that she learned to treat all pokemon with kindness and respect for the powerful, and wild creatures they are (or once where).

Francine was about eight the first time her father presented her with a notebook, and sketchbook of her own, a present that meant she could do more than just watch the other pokemon. These presents also came with a new job of really helping him study and record, learning what to make note of, what to ignore, and what to study further. She also discovered she was quite the hand at drawing, able to capture the pokemon easily - although, her sketchbook was often filled with scenery just as much as it was filled with pokemon.

Due to the traveling with her father, unfortunately this left Cine lacking with her ability in interacting with others. She didn't really go to school with the other kids, or play with the neighbor kids like she would have if she'd lived a normal life in a city - instead her life was spent out in the world with pokemon. And Francine never thought to mind it.

Francine was about thirteen years old when her father fell ill, and the left their adventuring life to move to a small sea-side town, where she cared for her father for the year it took for him to succumb to his sickness, his final words to her being 'Never give up your fire, and always find joy in the adventure.' He barely had the strength to press her necklace, a gift he'd told her he was saving for her fifteenth birthday, into her hand. That night he passed away peacefully in his sleep, and the day after, she buried her father before leaving on her own adventure, her new necklace tied around her neck.

Francine's life for the next two years was kept at a distance from others, instead merely journeying to do something with her mind - visiting the favorite spots of her fathers, and remembering their memories together (and slowly growing to accept her father's passing). She was seventeen when her father's employers contacted her to continue her father's work. She took on his job of documenting the local pokemon wildlife, and was doing it for five years when disaster began to strike.

At first it was just bickering among towns. Then it was stories of pokemon attacking trainers. And wild pokemon attacking cities. No one was safe from the sudden chaos. Cine left her job, and continued to move on (growing to not trust anyone around her, pokemon or human). Her life was spent in a constant motion of movement, afraid that any time she stopped, that would be it, that would be the end, she'd be caught up and disaster would fall.

The following six years she lived in a state of chaos, the war seeming to come apart around her. Violent storms sunk cities, and threatened the lives of both humans and pokemon. Dormant volcanos suddenly turned active. Tsunami's took out the costs. Fresh Water in many parts of the world turned acidic, which then turned the sky acidic when the water returned to the heavens. Her final years of memory where of a bleak world, the sky green, and molted with grey ash, the ground beneath her dead and dying, and the sounds of pain overlaying the feel of death and chaos on any turn. No where was safe, no where was comfortable, no where was alive.

Then came a sudden emptiness, and this is where her new story begins, in a void of nothing, swooped up from her old, and dying world, unaware of a new, pure world she would soon be dropped into with not a memory, and only her first name, and years of honed instinct that demanded travel and exploring, and an unconscious desire to document what she saw to guide her by.
