Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

AIMESS BASKERVILLE
19 - DEMIGIRL - BISEXUAL
Appearance

Aimess is big, in every sense of the word- they're tall, standing at 6"1', naturally stocky, muscular, and a little pudgy due to the "midnight snacks" they steal from their mom's bakery. If they didn't have loads of meat on their bones, they would have something of an hourglass figure- they never really liked that. They have a medium skin tone with a dash of freckles over their nose and cheeks (which I forgot to draw oops). Their hair is dark brown, almost black, and is styled in a short, sideswept cut. It's thick and fluffy, so maintenance is hard- Aimess usually combs their fingers through it in the morning so it at least points in the right direction and then gives up. Their face remains rounded from childhood, with full cheeks and a button nose. They have a winning smile, dimples and all, that crinkles their eyes and shows all their teeth. Sometimes, people mistake it for a mischievous expression.

Aimess has two very prominent scars: one on their face, and one on their left bicep. Both are from recklessness involving a wood ax- the one on their face is from wood shrapnel when they hit the firewood a little too hard, and the other was caused by showing off their dexterity to their friends, which they overestimated.

They prefer to wear summer clothing for most of the year. Aimess is a tactile sort of person, and they particularly like the feel of the breeze on whatever exposed skin they may have. They also like to look tough. Their favorite shirt used to be their father's, but they ripped the sleeves off. In winter, they often wear wool jackets and thick pants, which keeps them warm even if they can't feel anything through their stupid mittens.

Personality

Aimess acts a lot like the mama bear they're shaped like. They're very protective over their friends and family, showering them with loud and boisterous affection whenever they need it. They like to show their affection physically, whether with a ruffle of the hair or a bone-crushing squeeze of a hug, or occasionally just an arm draped over the shoulder. Their loyalty lies most with their younger sibling Dicey, who they feel needs to be defended due to their much smaller and scrawnier frame and timid nature. They're usually calm, but if they feel someone they care for is being threatened, an angry Aimess is not something you want to be near- they're prone to rash decisions all the time, and they'll often lash out at anyone who bothers them while they're feeling annoyed. They can go into blue moods suddenly, and they typically refuse to talk to anyone when they do.

When around people their age, Aimess usually hangs back in conversation (they're more expressive with body language than with words, anyway) and provides logical and down-to-earth answers to disputes and questions. Some of their friends are very talkative, so it can be hard to get a word in edgewise, but when they do, they're confident about whatever insight they have to offer. They're surprisingly cunning and resourceful and are often the one to find the creative way out of a jam. They like to tinker and fidget with random things they find on the ground, which sometimes leads to a semi-functional gadget, such as the small slingshot they made with some twigs and a shred of stretchy fabric.

Aimess gets excited when the topic turns to making things, fighting people, or grand adventure. They're a babbler when this happens, often spitting out words before stringing them into a sentence. They're fascinated by tools, mostly since they've been an impromptu apprentice to their craftsman dad for a few years. As for fighting, they're just a hot-blooded, adventurous person deep down and like getting their hands dirty. Nothing beats the feeling of swinging something heavy and destructive around! Though they've never gone far from Ashfield before, they have heard stories about other cities, and they kind of want to see the world for themselves. Personal connections take priority for Aimess, though, so they don't plan on leaving home any time soon.

History

Aimess' family is fairly well-established in Ashfield. Their mom came through the portal, while their dad was one of the first children born in Terrene. When Aimess was born, they wanted for nothing but attention- their parents had the money to provide for them, but had to keep working their busy jobs to keep that money coming in. Thus, Aimess' early years taught them independence and left them with plenty of time to befriend the other kids in the city.

When Dicey was born, Aimess was at first uncertain about what this would mean for them. Would their parents' limited free time be spent on this kid? Fortunately, the baby brought the family together instead of driving it apart- Aimess was seven at the time and was trusted to help out in their parents' respective shops, and workloads suddenly slackened, leaving more time for everyone to spend together. Soon enough, Aimess wouldn't stop bragging to their friends about their baby sibling. (They still haven't, which embarrasses Dicey to no end.)

When they were around twelve, they discussed their feelings about gender with their parents. They came to the conclusion that "Aimess is kind of a girl but not really and that's unusual but it's okay I guess." At this time, they were also old enough to help with more chores, such as chopping firewood and carrying loads of bread from the oven to the bakery. Cinnamon rolls started inexplicably disappearing, which definitely had nothing to do with Aimess. All that was quite a bit of exercise, and they started doing more and more heavy lifting around the place.

By the time Dicey was seven and Aimess was fourteen, Aimess started showing them the ropes, but they were clumsier than their big sibling and ended up lighting Aimess' then short fuse several times. (They always apologized to Dicey afterwards, but it wasn't always enough to get them to stop crying.) Dicey ended up spending most of their time studying pokemon around the forest. As soon as Aimess found out, they appointed themselves their bodyguard, and that was when the siblings really started to bond. Aimess learned to appreciate quiet one-on-one time with loved ones, though they still preferred to be with lots of friends.

Now, Aimess has decided to become the Ashfield welcoming committee for immigrants. They show people around the city and tell them what they know about the local pokemon, though they still didn't have one of their own. They're considering asking their parents for a bit of money to buy a pokeball.
