Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

In The
Races
[ Heyy friends, want to play in a rapidfire mini-game type of social? Look no further! Trick is out here running around in the snow, and he's looking for a challenger... or two or three or more, to race! Placement in the race will be determined at first by your Pokemon's level added to their base speed stat, but with every post you make after that, I will RNG a number between 10-20 to add to your Pokemon's total, so that continued posting is more important than actual speed stat. I'll do all the addition myself (I'll keep track by editing your posts, and whenever I post, I'll post all the totals together for comparative purposes). All you have to worry about is posting!

This will be done rapidfire-style, so don't worry about making long and elegant posts. Posting order isn't too important in this thread, since it is a race, but there are two rules to abide by: 1. you cannot post more than once per day in this thread, and 2. you cannot post twice in a row, even if no one else has responded to the thread in 24 hours. The race will end when someone's number reaches 250, or when the event ends. There may be small EXP gains rewarded at the end of the race. That's it, enjoy! ]

This was the worst season.

Small snowflakes fell from the sky to their deaths, sizzling away into nothingness if they were the ones unlucky enough for their trajectory to take them directly into the fire pony's flaming mane or tail. Trick internally rejoiced at each of their deaths. Snow was heinous. Cold was heinous. This event was heinous, with stupid humans gathering to celebrate this stupid season with its stupid weather.

Trick had grown up on these plains, so he had survived a number of winters such as these. But he'd loathed each and every one.

He was currently jogging in a long loop around the entire event the humans had set up, smashing snow beneath his hooves and eradicating the snow that feel with his flames and his excess body heat. But the pleasure gained from ruining the snow was small, too small to assuage his grouchiness, and so he picked up his speed, desiring to work off his stress with a bit of exercise.

(Trick: level 9 + base speed 90 = 99)

It was the first time Ghost had seen so much snow. She was only familiar with the forest terrein and other warmer places. She began to wonder why it couldn't be like this everywhere. The snow feels great on her paws and the temperature was so comforting. Maybe if she begged enough, Victor would like to live in the snow with her. He didn't have much fur like she did, but he was resourceful. The vulpix figured he'd be okay.

As her trainer allowed her to wander around the festival, she spotted what seemed to be a pokemon on fire dashing around the snow. Oh no! He was melting everything! She thought it would be a good idea to catch up to the fiery horse and please ask him to stop melting winter away. The larger pokemon was fast though, she'd have to dash quicker to catch up.

Kaname was not appreciating the cold weather very much at all. With his short hair getting all wet from walking in the snow, the Sylveon was more than happy to get an opportunity to sit by Sonia on a bench and have her dry it with a piece of cloth. The brunette was humming happily as she was grooming her partner and letting the younger of her Pokémon, Bebe the Rattata walk around. The festival area was safe enough for that.

Bebe was delighted to be around so many people and Pokemon. The tiny Rattata was naturally curious, as most young Pokemon would be. She was playing in the snow when she noticed a Ponyta dash past her... And a Pokemon she recognized, going the same way. The big round ears twitched. It was Ghost! And she was playing running with someone! Bebe wasn't exactly sure how a running game worked, but she wanted in. "Bebe run too!" She cried out and followed without a second thought.

[ Standings just prior to this post: 1st place, Jani's Trick (99); 2nd place, Rissi's Bebe (75); 3rd place, Shasyu's Ghost (72). ]

Trick couldn't hear the approach of the two mammals that joined his track over the sound of his own thundering hooves, despite the fact that the snow muted his hoofsteps somewhat. However, when the mouse called out in its small but enthusiastic voice, the sound managed, just barely, to carry over to him.

His ears twitched, and he glanced behind him. Pursuing him was a small rat, a common species he recognized as a Rattata, it's purple fur stark in contrast to the blanket of white that coated everything. He couldn't see that there was a second follower, just slightly behind the Rattata, as the pursuing Vulpix was pristinely white, blending in almost perfectly with the snow, unlike himself and the Rattata.

Trick did not know what the small rat wanted, neither did he care. It was nobody. He kept pounding on, putting a little more oomph into it in order to try and create greater distance between himself and the rat.

(Trick: 99 + 17 = 116. I PROMISE KAIEN RNG'd FOR ME, I DIDN'T ROLL THAT AMAZING NUMBER FOR MYSELF. Shasyu and Rissi, Kaien and/or myself will RNG for the rest of your posts and edit the numbers into your posts. And don't forget, you don't have to wait for me to post in order to post, the only rules are that you can't post twice in a row and you can't post twice in one day. For everyone else, this is still open, it's not too late to hop in!)

As Ghost made her way through the snow, she anticipated catching up with the horse. Unforrtunately it appeared as if it was only getting further from her. The snow continuously melting under his hooves. This was her nightmare! As if it wasn't bad enough she heard tiny paws approaching. From behind came a tiny purple rat. It was Bebe, Ghost's friend! The fox wanted to stop and say hi, but ahe worried she'd never catch up to the ponyta. At this rate however, Bebe would surely pass her.

Bebe went on and on, her eyes fixed on the big fiery Pokémon up ahead. She managed to catch up to Ghost at first, but the game was still on. They were all still running and she still had no idea why. Ghost didn't seem very interested in explaining, but Bebe didn't really need any reasons. She had one of her own: this was fun! With her large round ears dropping along her tiny head, the Rattata hoped to get more mobility and dash through the area until they reach their destination. Or whatever else was the goal. Her tiny paws were a blur. They had to move at rapid speed to have a chance at catching up to a Pokémon that was graced with decently sized limbs.

(Ya'll missed so many opportunities to pass me up guys xD)

How... how was he not gaining on the rat? Sure, it weren't exactly catching up with him, but...

He was a horse. A mighty fire horse, in fact.

Racing against a literal rat. And- and a fox had joined them, he saw it now, a blur of white against the white ground!

Something was wrong here. If he wasn't gaining on them, that meant they were matching his speed, right? Or they were at least close to his speed.

Now... now this was personal. If they gained on him, it would be an insult not only to him but his entire species. It could not be so. Redoubling his efforts, he strained his legs and his lungs in an attempt to put more ground between himself and the smaller, lesser creatures that dared to pursue him.

(Trick: 116+19=135 (Kira rolled this one for me))

Just as Ghost thought she was going to catch up to the ponyta, the fire horse picked up its speed. Okay, it seemed as if she was going to have to outspeed the large pokemon. Ghost was going to do her best to pass it and when she won she waa going to ask it to stop melting winter.

Bebe's breath was getting shallow. She closed her eyes as if to focus harder as she moved her tiny paws frantically. She was falling behind! She couldn't let this be. She wanted to catch up with that big, biiiig Pokémon and ask them why they were in such a hurry and where they were going and why they were so big and whether she could play with the flames that danced on its mane and tail. This curious motivation drove her to put more and more effort into this race.

Things were getting nowhere. The ponyta was getting faster and now if that wasn't bad enough Ghost could hear Bebe catching up closely. From her peripheral, she spotted the baby rat dashing beside her. Whoa! She was way to close now. Ghost tried to dash ahead but the rat had so much more energy. The rattata was now ahead of the fox by just a smidge.

Trick tossed his head. Despite how impetuous it was that these silly, inferior creatures thought they could chase him, catch him... he found that he was enjoying himself. Just a bit. He was reminded of his youth, when he would race migrating Fletchinder and Talonflame when the breezes grew cold.

This was kind of nice, actually.

Except that accursed fox had suddenly gained on him! The fox was now right between him and the rat. Unacceptable! He had to try harder, be better, go faster! Faster, faster...

Just when she thought she was starting to catch up, the others sped up. Bebe groaned. Here she was, thinking highly of herself and proudly growing aware of her own abilities... but Ghost and the big flamey one still had the energy to go on. Her human wasn't even watching, but to the little Rattata, this was a chance to prove herself. To finally show that size doesn't matter and she can still do great things! There was no giving up for Bebe. She pressed on, as fast as her paws would allow, yelling out between her breaths, "Bebe... Bebe... will... get you!... Bebe run fast!"

Oh boy, this ponyta did not seem to run out of energy. It kept picking up speed as Ghost did what she could to sprint ahead. It was likely that she'd never really pass the horse now that it was not underestimating her. This same reason is why she also had to stay in front of Bebe. The litte rat pokemon was dashing so quickly for a baby. Maybe, if the vulpix could not won, then she'd be satisfied with The rattata winning.

The race kept going. The Rattata dashed across the snowy field, as fast as she could. The other Pokémon were bigger and more experienced than her, she had to realize that, but that only made her more determined. But she was still behind them... Frustrated at her own short paws, Bebe groaned angrily, glaring at the other Pokémon's back. She could do this, she could do this!

She didn't even realize as her eyes sparkled with passionate flame. It wouldn't be very effective at that moment, outside of a battle, but without knowing it, Bebe was using her Rage attack.

The Ponyta snorted as he barreled ever onward. Don't look back, he told himself. Don't look back. He just needed to focus on his legs, his hooves, the ground.

But he couldn't help himself. He spared a second's glance over his shoulder and actually tripped up in surprise. He regathered himself after losing his speed for a moment, but-

They were so close! Literally right on his heels! Probably literally eating the snow and sand he was kicking up, that was how close they were. A screeching whinny of disbelief pierced the hushed landscape.

He couldn't lose this, this, whatever this was. Focusing, he tried to take in sunlight to regenerate his energy and reinvigorate his tired muscles. But it was difficult; it was so cold, and there was a cloud cover blocking the sun's direct rays. Still, maybe... maybe it would give him back his edge, his lead.
