Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new universe, this new world, and give it purpose. (Our site is best viewed in Firefox or Chrome.)

Events

It's the most wonderful
time of the year- meaning, the time of Delibird gifts and of winter festivals! And as always, our plot events are still going strong.

Season

winter will be here until
March. Aside from the western Great Forest, which is too warm, and the Desert Strip, which is too dry, snow begins to fall across the region. The chill of the season has just about every area firmly in its grasp. Ice and Dark types become more common as the temperature drops and the daylight fades.

605 words - #Awk! @Shasyu
Though her travels seemed to flow by crazy quick, time since arriving at the camp seemed to drag. She wasn't a scientist, or someone with the knowledge and skills to help with whatever strange techie projects the main followers of Omega were working on. So, she'd been so bored since she arrived, hence the days feeling long. Being out in the wilderness, exploring and seeing all the new creatures and environments had been amazing. And experiencing it all with her little speedy fox had made it all the better.

But a part of her wished she'd just continued travelling. But here she was, sticking around to make sure she got the answers she came for. Luckily, it was only a few days before she was able to get a task out of someone. They'd loaded her up with equipment and necessary information for travelling into the mountain to find and mine some ore for them. In all honesty, it seemed like a pretty interesting task. She'd never seen a mountain before, and was curious to get a better look up close and explore the tunnels carved into it.

The only catch was they'd assigned her a partner.

Apparently there had been complaints or mishaps with people going alone who really weren't suited for it. Leo had been more than ready for the challenge, and knew that Jolteon was up for it as well. However, upon learning it would be just her and the electric-type, she earned a long speech about how bad of an idea that was, and found someone else who was going in to have them go together. After a few grumbling protests, the duo had conceded and headed off. She just wanted to get them off her back. And she had a feeling he had the same reason for going along with it, but couldn't be sure.

After a bit of a climb, following the directions from those at the camp, they'd arrived at the start of a tunnel, one that had yet to be traversed for metal yet. She peered inside, leaning in a bit to try and look through the darkness, though the light from the sun poured in pretty far before the darkness would be too much. Though it wasn't a perfect source of light, the fox padding next to her could create sparks of electricity, which would certainly create a bit of light if needed. And who knew whether this dude had a pokemon or item that could help as well.

She huffed, sparing a glance over to her 'partner'. "Well, you ready?" Waiting just long enough for an answer, the woman started to head into the tunnel, looking around and studying the walls. If he wanted to continue speaking, she'd respond, but she wasn't entirely sure what to talk about. It had been a little odd coming all this way without talking, but it wasn't uncomfortable. In fact, she didn't mind the lack of socialization at all. They were here to get a job done. A job that required minimal talking to coordinate finding and getting the metal back to camp.

Jolteon turned up her nose as they started into the tunnel, already getting a scent of the oddly cold and stuffy air. There were walls and a ceiling in this mountain. It wasn't exactly a place she'd prefer to be, always wanting to be in open environments, but she supposed she could humor the human for a little bit. She was, after all, curious what kind of creatures would call this strange place home. Seemed so unsuitable for living. Was there even food in here?

(Egg post 9)

Victor wasn’t exactly sure what he was getting himself into, but he was never one to stray from work. He was always taking an opportunities to collect supplies for his travels. It was also a chance to meet and possibly befriend new pokemon. He was honestly wanting to use the heavy ball he obtained months ago.

Unfortunately, to complete this job it required a partner. A human partner. Sure, help could be a good thing, but Victor preferred his own partners. Ghost marched beside him. He figured she was his best bet to get through this. Perhaps Wisp could be of some help, but the fragility of the seedling worried him. For now, he’d keep the little guy on reserve. The ball of grass remained in his pack keeping the egg company.

Spirit was looking for a fight, but his extreme weakness to rock types worried the wanderer. Sure, the ledyba’s fighting moves could come in handy, but that wasn’t a risk he’d take so easily. Approaching the tunnel, Victor could see the other trainer waiting. Beside her was another fox like pokemon. A jolteon. Meeting her face-to-face, she asked if he was ready.

“Yeah, about as ready as I can get,” he answered casually. From the girls tone, he could tell she was enthusiastic About this as he was. He analyzed the girl and her pokemon. Victor worried that this was her only companion. Why else would she choose one so weak to the elements of this cave.

“Perhaps we should catch each other's name? In case we get seperated I don’t want to shout out ‘hey random girl!’” Victor tried to break the ice with his poor attempt at humor. “I’m Victor,”

Ghost was super excited to see another fox-like pokemon. They were going to be friends she would make sure of it. While the two human trainers explored and examined the tunnel, The vulpix couldn't help but walk beside the jolteon.

“Hello, am Ghost!” she yipped joyfully as she wagged her tails.

@Kaien @Shasyu

They wouldn't make it far into the tunnel before someone approached them. Multiple someones.

Multiple someones who were, quite honestly, sick and tired of humans barging into their home, breaking their walls and ceilings and floors apart with strange and frightening tools, stealing pieces of their homes... some humans even killed them, willy nilly, believing their own purposes to be worth more than the lives of those whose homes they trespassed into.

But no more. They would put a stop to it. At least, they would if this Diglett had anything to say about it. He had assembled a group of (mostly) willing comrades in arms, those who he had grown with and fought with. Every so often, they would gather together and head toward the front of the tunnel they called home, patrolling it for a few hours before dispersing to return to their individual lives. So far, they hadn't been lucky (or unlucky) enough to be at the right place at the right time to encounter one of the encroaching humans...

But today, their luck changed.

The Zubat was the first among their small ranks to hear the intruders, thanks of course to his sensitive ears. //Humans! Two of them!// He cried in his shrill voice, his voice carrying deeper into the tunnel rather than toward Victor and Leona. The next voice, however, was meant for them.

//Turn back now, or you'll regret you ever stepped foot in here! Alright, guys, get in formation, and advance until you can see them!//

Shuffling noises and hushed voices followed, until out of the inky darkness ahead of them came two- no, four Pokemon, arranged in a square formation. In the front row, a mammal with exceptionally large claws, a long white face with a pink nose, and a dark body. Beside her, a blue and purple bat fluttered, wings flapping madly as he remained afloat beside his mole partner.

In the second row, another mole (apparently), this one moving through the ground about as easily as a fish moved through water, popping his pink-nosed, beady-eyed head up every now and then to check on his comrades and his surroundings. Also in the second row, trundled along a rock which dragged himself along with his arms. His eyes kept darting hither and thither, looking both ahead of himself as well as shooting frequent glances behind himself.

//There!// Screeched the Drilbur, the first to spot them.

//Halt!// Cried the Diglett from behind, the apparent leader of the quartet. //Second rank, support. First rank, offense!//

//Yes, sir!// Cried the Zubat, nearly bursting with eagerness. He was the first to dart forward, singling out Ghost as the smaller and, presumably, weaker of the two. He opened his mouth wide and made an odd breathy inhaling noise; a green bubble appeared before him and zipped through the air toward the white fox. A simple attack, used to absorb a bit of the enemy's energy and return it.

The Drilbur acted with only a slight delay, choosing Jolteon as her target. She rushed the yellow fox head-on, slashing out at the last moment with her outrageously long claws, aiming at the fox's front legs. Hit or miss, she'd attempt to return to her place beside the Zubat after the attack, and shout out as she did so: //Geodude, she's an electric-type, I think!//

The Geodude hesitated, still shifting his gaze inconsistently, but then opened his mouth wide and released a stream of mud straight up into the air, where some of it splattered against the tunnel ceiling and some of it splashed back down towards the rest of them, spattering everywhere.

The Diglett, all the while, had merely growled from his place behind the Drilbur; but if Ghost or Jolteon ever made a move to escape, they'd find their path suddenly blocked, as the Diglett had his gaze and utmost focus locked on the both of them, and he'd never let them leave. Not without a sound whooping, at least...

638 words - BRING IT @Shasyu
Slightly grinning from the attempt at humor, the woman appreciated his light joke. It wasn't enough to earn a laugh from her, but then again she didn't commonly laugh around other humans. Nothing personal, she was just never comfortable enough with them to relax so much. Funny or not, the man had a fair point. Though she wasn't confident if they did get split up that she'd go shouting in the dark, dangerous caves for him. "Victor, gotcha. I'm Leo-" She cut off the name there, ears perking as she glanced into the tunnel.

The jolteon was padding in place, as if running but not going anywhere, as the others arrived and started to interact. She was anxious to get moving, never really preferring to sit in one place. Her human was usually the same, the both of them running practically all the time. But these new guys were apparently joining them. Would they be able to keep up? "Hey Ghost. I like your energy." The soft barks kept the fox's tone light and friendly. She looked as if she was going to say more, but suddenly stopped, feet planted on the ground and ears perking up as her snout turned into the tunnel.

The both of them, having spent so much time out in the wilds training, learning to listen for faint signs of life in order to hunt, were more keen to the noises in the tunnel. Leona had been keeping alert just in case something was dwelling inside the cave, planning to stay as such as they got in. Apparently, they wouldn't even really get into the tunnel before they'd be joined by possibly hostile pokemon or people. She stiffened, her hand going to the double-bladed dagger strapped to her hip.

As a group of pokemon started to appear from the tunnel, 4 in count, without them having to move, the woman pulled the dagger from the makeshift twine strap holding it up. Wielding the blade, she waited to see what they would do, the one mole in the back seeming to squeak out. The fox raised an eyebrow, but before she could get a word off they were heading in, the front two moving to attack them, apparently.

The ground-type dashed forward and slashed it's long, sharp claws at the fox. Despite her much better speed and manueverability, she was not able to escape the entirety of the attack. She clearly needed to get better at dodging, the pokemon thought to her self. Her eyes flickered to the other, the bat launching itself at the little ice fox. "Tradesies!" She barked, hoping the pokemon would get the hint as she started to charge up.

Unfortunately, mud sputtered off the roof of the tunnel and got in her fur, which would dampen her attack slightly. But she knew it would still be strong regardless. She jumped back, trying to shake the mud and getting a little further away from the mole, before collecting her electricity quickly. She fired off the attack, the lighting flashing in the tunnel and attempting to crash into the bat in front of her new friend.

Leona, on the other hand, was in full fight mode, her flight response not quite dominant in this situation. Seeing the pokemon scratch at her partner was enough to get her to move into action, the woman acting to retaliate. While she was oblivious about type advantages and disadvantages, she knew one thing: The mole was made of flesh, and daggers cut flesh. She lunged in, attempting to slash the dagger at the ground-type, pulling back once she hit or miss to try and make sure she wasn't in range to get hit back, hopping back since the little thing was closer to her ankles than the rest of her body.

“Leo? Okay,” Victor thought to himself. Before he could respond to her, he could see she was distracted by something. He didn’t make a sound as Leo appeared to be listening out for something nearby. He slowed his breathing and made sure not to move a muscle to make as little sound as possible.

Suddenly a group of pokemon attacked. There were three ground types and a zubat. Ghost dashes over to Victor’s side immediately. The fox wanted to play with her new friend and now she would have to deal with these bullies. Before she could get an attack off, the incoming zubat zipped by her, using a draining ability. She felt a slight dose of energy sapped from her body. Ghost shook it off preparing to attack.

The jolteon wanted to take on the zubat, however. It was for the best. Ghost stepped back to seek a new target. There was a drilbur that made contact with jolteon as its claws swiped the yellow fox. Ghost inhaled deeply before letting out a cold wind of snow at the black and blue mole.

Victor felt confident his vulpix could handle the drilbur, but if he learned anything from his journey it was to act immediately. These pokemon seemed set on combat and it was safer for the party to fight back rather than negotiate.

“I’ll handle the others while you take care of the zubat!” Victor called out as he turned his attention to Leo. To his surprise she had whipped out a knife and had lunged forward to stab the drilbur. That was something he had yet to witness in his travels. A human fighting a pokemon on their own. He wasn’t sure if he should be impressed or disturbed. He brushed it off, because survival came first.

Victor set down his backpack as Wisp crawled out of it. He looked around with worry and could see easily what was happening. Another battle? Here we go, he guessed. Immediately after, the trainer summoned Spirit from his pokeball. The bug appeared from the light already prepared to rumble.

“Alright you two, we need your help,” Victor spoke assertively to his pokemon. “Spirit your silver wind at the diglett. I know I can count on you,” he commanded. “Wisp, little guy, I need you to give it your best and show that diglett what you got!” The two charged ahead to take on the leader of the pack. Victor wasn’t worried so much about the geodude. From the looks of it, it didn’t seem like much of a threat or really wanting to battle.

@Kaien @Shasyu

(Don't forget to track the -1 attack from the Growl that Diglett used last turn~)

The two opponents originally sited suddenly turned into four- no five opponents, and the Diglett felt a brief but sharp pang of panic. Even as he himself was attacked, he kept a sharp eye on the battlefield as a whole; and he knew he had to pay close attention, and probably alter his strategy, if they were to recover any chance of success here.

Quick as- well, lightning- the yellow fox pulled a fast one on poor Zubat, shocking him literally out of the sky. The bat plummeted toward the ground, barely catching himself at the last minute before pulling up sharply, panting with the effort. The Drilbur was already retreating by the time the smaller white fox, and she was veering away from the trajectory of the attack, when the human jumped in, false claw grasped in her hand and slashing at the mole. The Drilbur dodged the knife-slash, but in dodging that attack she was placed more squarely in the cone of the ice-attack that came her way, unable to dodge the assaults that came from both behind and from the side.

Diglett, for his part, drew the most ire. The two newest Pokemon combatants on the field both set their sites on him; he was hit by both of the attacks that came his way, and boy did they hurt. Though there was no visible damage on him, his skin stung all over. He pushed the pain aside, though. He needed to focus. To lead.

//Change! Focus the white one!//

The order was brief, but the others knew what was meant, and what they had to do. Each wild Pokemon quickly attempted to rally their morale and spirits after the sudden onslaught of attacks, and prepared to renew their assault.

First, however, the Diglett darted out in front before turning sharply in a wide arc, blasting dirt and debris aimed primarily at the Jolteon and the Ledyba. Hopefully, it would help quell the threat that these two represented. The Budew could be ignored for now, young weak as it was.He still needed to figure out what to do about that human, though. But, the new strategy was to focus one opponent at a time, to take them out quickly while taking as little damage as possible themselves.

The Drilbur was the first to dash toward Ghost, claws flashing out at the last minute, aiming ruthlessly for the white fox's face. The Zubat was close behind, again aiming his long-distance energy-sucking attack at Ghost. He wanted to be able to attack twice in quick succession like Diglett could, but he had neither the speed nor the experience.

The Geodude heard the order given by the Diglett, but... couldn't muster the courage or will to join the aggressive rush. Neither did he have the desire yet to stand uselessly aside while his friends fought for their lives, though. Augh, he hated this! He had to defend his home and his friends, but... he didn't want to hurt anyone. And he didn't want to be hurt, either!

In an act of disobedience, the armed rock stayed behind, choosing to focus his personal defenses and his team's defenses. His body grew harder, more impenetrable; and the air around his allies shimmered slightly, indicating that... something had happened. An energy was there, prepared to defend them in case their enemies had any particularly powerful tactics in their arsenal.

709 words - FITE FITE FITE!! @Shasyu
Leona had noted Victor's silence when she was listening out for the threats. Most people tended to be overly chatty, and completely oblivious to silent cues. It was... refreshing that he seemed to have caught on to her so quickly. Perhaps moving through this tunnel wouldn't be a terrible experience after all. In a partner, even for such a short task, she needed someone with keen senses and preferably the ability to work alongside someone without having a drawn out conversation involving needless small talk. Only time would tell if the positive behavior would continue.

But everything was moving so quickly, so fast. They needed to spur into action, and Victor called out as she started to move towards the mole with her dagger. Unfortunately her attack had missed, but she smirked as the creature stumbled into a full blow from the little ice fox's attack. Well, that was something, so she supposed it was successful in the end, even if she had missed. But clearly this fight was far from over. Luckily, the man pulled out pokeballs and released a couple more pokemon, immediately issuing orders to them.

Perhaps she would be better off getting another partner or two.

She internally grimaced at the thought and shoved it aside. This wasn't the time or place to think about that anyway. Jolteon's instinct was spot on, as she'd expected, and the creature zapped the bat out of the air. It recovered quickly, and the mole in the back was apparently speaking. So, it must be the 'leader' of this little odd-ball group of pokemon. But, it wasn't dealing the direct attacks, so it could wait to be attacked, probably. Either way, it seemed the man's other pokemon were going after it, so she didn't need to worry.

The rock creature seemed to simply stay to itself. Smart. If it doesn't jump into the fight, then she would see no need to kill it for survival. They didn't need another opponent anyway.

She spared a look at Jolteon, crossing her finger in the shape of a lightning bolt and pointing at the Zubat that was back up, and attacking the vulpix. Much to her chagrin, she would need the help of Victor and his pokemon to get the metal, so for now they were a team. And being a team meant working together, and having each others back. Well, as long as it wasn't life or death. In that case, every creature for themselves. Since that wasn't the current situation, helping keep that flying menace off of them would be good. With the other little digger being double-teamed, she could keep her efforts on the mole attacking them directly.

Jolteon had noticed her human miss, and the order given quickly after. Her human really needed to get better at actually striking her targets, clearly. She'd seen her training, and noticed her getting ever so slightly faster over time, but she still had a long way to go. Either way, her battle was still on. The diglett shot a bunch of dirt over at her, which made her close her eyes and shake away the dirt that got on her face. She got as much off in a few seconds as possible, and refocused on the zubat. "Awww, c'mon little bat, just going to ignore me? You know, that's not very nice, now is it?" She snickered as the electricity sparked and flashed as her fur rubbed together, preparing the attack. It collected and fired off in a bolt, shooting towards the bat.

Ona would leap into action as well. She may not be able to fully stop the attack of the drilbur from hitting the vulpix, but she was at least going to try to help slaying it. Plus, the creature was focused on the new target now, and hopefully not paying as much attention to her. It was be unfortunate if she missed yet again, but she had to keep trying. She lunged forward, slashing the blade at the little mole, preparing to get back and away from all 3 of the pokemon actively working against their group, not really interested in getting injured today. Pokemon were notably more powerful that humans, so she needed to be careful.

(Egg post 16)

So much was happening and Victor was worried someone from their team would not make it. Ghost had taken a lot of damage and the ambush party didn’t seem to care to attack the others. Leona and Victor’s team were being affected by the support moves. This mud was dampening Jolteon’s power and now the team had sand in their eyes. Of all the pokemon in the ambush team the diglett seemed to be the one that would go down the quickest. Victor figured they should take advantage of this.

Leona had already acted and went ahead to attack the drilbur once more. Jolteon was definitely a team player as it went to attempted to zap the zubat that had been attacking Ghost. The fox would have greatly appreciated it if the flying rat would quit sapping her energy. Spirit was not going to stand for a loss here. He was also very angry that the tiny mole got sand in his eyes. He’d beat the creature back into the hole it came from. Spirit let out a rageful cry as it summoned stars in front of it. The manifest shapes of light fired swiftly toward the enemy party.

At this time, Victor needed to stop that diglett from causing anymore trouble. The trainer pointed toward the little mole “Wisp, I need you to go for the diglett. Absorb!” he cried out as the seedling hesitated. His team needed him though. The budew waddled on ahead in the chaos to attack the little brown mole. “Ghost! Powder snow against diglett!” commanded the trainer as the fox dashed ahead to attack.

@Kaien @Shasyu

Things were falling apart, and quickly. Even as he struggled to dodge the attacks that came his way- he succeeded in mostly dodging the powder snow, but the absorb hit him exactly- he watched as lightning crashed against the youngest member of his team once again, and that detestable meddling human just barely cut into the Drilbur's skin. Luckily, the Ledyba's attack flew harmlessly past all of them, the stars bouncing off of Geodude's invisible shield, wide guard. If it weren't for that, they'd probably all be goners already. He was suddenly and intensely grateful that the Geodude had disobeyed his earlier orders.

//Friends, we're not going to win this. Retreat, I will cover you!//

Except that no-one did. It seemed that none of them wanted to leave the Diglett's side. (well, that one in the back did want to, but he wasn't quite willing to.)

The Zubat felt like her body was going to burst apart when she was struck the second time with lightning, but she managed to hang on, somehow. But when the order for retreat was called... she didn't know what to do. She didn't want to leave her leader, or her friends... but she didn't know what to do with herself when there weren't any orders to tell her what to do! So she defaulted back to the previous order: attack the white one. Using the same attack- the only offensive move in her arsenal- she circled around and tried to absorb the creature's health again. She found her movements hard to make, her muscles moving jerkily instead of smoothly. But maybe the energy she absorbed could keep her going long enough to... to... she didn't even know. She didn't really want to think about it.

The Drilbur, however, was glad for the lack of orders. It meant she could go after the one she was truly angry at: that stupid human. She'd nearly been able to dodge the human's attack, but had been just slightly too slow, and the long but shallow gash along her back ached. Turning about suddenly, she dashed at Leona, claws flailing in a circular motion, a loathing grimace etched onto her face as she tried to land the attack anywhere on the human. If the human wanted to play dirty, boy, the Drilbur was more than willing.

The Diglett weighed his options. Success was not likely, but he had one strong move that could potentially shift the tide in their favor. And knowing that the Geodude was protecting the rest of his team made him more willing to use it. He let out a war cry; loud, piercing. He began to make rounds, making loops around his enemies, screaming and shouting and even lashing out physically if he ever got close enough to do so. It was like a temper tantrum- a loud, dangerous, flailing temper tantrum.

(Swift does no damage due to wide guard; Uproar targets all Pokemon on the field but does no damage to Diglett's team due to wide guard.)
