Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

Lore

[[Cynthia continues work on Amnisiad's new move Acrobatics, gives her some kind words and encouragement, preparing to head North in search of Ice types. And they also find a present.]]

Cynthia's eyes tracked the busy flash of orange that streaked across the cold, gray sky. It suddenly plunged downwards, gaining velocity before curving its path into a neat little loop and ending up soaring straight up into the sky once again. A good ten meters into the sky, the bird's velocity ran out and she leveled off, fluttering back to Cynthia breathlessly.

Flying into the loop-the-loop always left her feeling exhilarated, but also mildly terrified. Birds, she now firmly believed, were not meant to fly upside down. But for a brief moment, with wings carefully pinned in such a way that the wind would not gust into her feathers and bowl her off course... it was quite exciting.

Pleased with the progress, Cynthia held out her arm for Amnisiad to perch, and the small bird Pokemon did so. "You're growing and doing very nicely," she praised, warmth in her voice. "Let's try a few more loops, and then we can move on to the next step that the woman told us to practice, okay?"

Amnisiad made a small nodding motion with her head, her beak wagging up and down in the air. Thanks to the Anniversary fair, her skill in the new move improved quite a bit, and the move tutor had even given Amnisiad and Cynthia some tips for how to continue training it; it was much more effective than Amnisiad just struggling to remember how she saw Mama Bird do it and try to mimic the movements to the best of her ability and memory.

The bird took off into the air once more, flying up and out above the reach of the trees that grew along the edge of the cozy little village. When she was fairly high up into the air, she made a jarring turn and headed towards the ground once again, accelerating into a beak dive. Her wings snapped into position and she sharply pulled up, sending her into another dizzying 540 degree, vertical turn.

She leveled off once more, her flight slightly wobbly as her brain tried to compensate for the rapid changing of directions. As she re-oriented herself, she saw Cynthia below, looking no bigger than herself. Seeing how high up she still was, and feeling a bit daring, she swooped downward, preparing to make another loop-the-loop. She followed through with the motion; her muscles were growing accustomed to the particular bend and weight of the movement, though her insides still protested as they were oddly pushed out of place by the force.

Cynthia clenched her fist involuntarily at the sight of her Fletchling deciding to attempt a second loop in a row. Swallowing hard, she forced herself to relax, breathing in and breathing out. It was unexpected, brave, and probably stupid. But the bird did have enough room, provided she didn't make any mistakes. Cynthia had a flashback to the time that Amnisiad ended her loop still in a descent, causing a frightening few seconds where they both thought she would end up crashing into the ground. Since then, Amnisiad decided to try the maneuver from much higher above the ground. Until this moment. To her relief, Amnisiad had gotten enough practice, by now, that she didn't mistakenly do a 360 degree loop.

Amnisiad returned, landing on Cynthia's shoulder and proudly puffing up her feathers. Cynthia turned her head to look at the bird and chided gently, "That was very stupid... but also very brave." She reached up with her hand and gently stroked the feathers of her Fletchling's neck and chest. With a slightly firmer tone, she added, "Next time, warn me if you're going to do that."

Lore

A small creature flitted from shadow to shadow, doing its best to stay hidden - a difficult feat when one’s plumage is a stunning red color. It stealthily crept up to the woman who was thoroughly engrossed in the Fletchling’s aerial moves, until just one bush separated it from her. With a mischievous gleam in its eyes, it reached one feathered limb out towards her. Careful. Completely silent. Its skills in stealth rivaled the most masterful hunter. In the cup of its wing it held a small round box. It gingerly placed the box on the ground, then retrieved its arm to whip out a soft pink cloth from its white pouch that it clutched tightly. With expert deftness, it flicked the cloth out and laid it over the small box. The dark pink decoratively covered the rather plain small box, and its work was done. As silently and quickly as it came, it was gone, vanishing back into the forest without a single trace other than the box it left behind.

Cynthia let out a small sigh, before straightening back up and looking Amnisiad straight on, ”Okay, now, I think that’s enough of the aerial loops for now. Let’s work on impact next, alright?”

Amnisiad didn’t understand too much of what Cynthia said, but she was still busy glowing with pride at her accomplishment, so she wouldn’t have given much response anyways. She gave her plumage a last proud stroke with her beak, resembling for all the world an athlete or musician patting themselves on the shoulder.

Cynthia stifled a smile and turned, coming to a prompt halt when she saw that something strange had appeared while she wasn’t looking. With a stern look on her face, she cast quick, suspicious glances left, right, up, and behind nearby bushes, but... nobody was there. ”Ammy, did you see that?” she asked, her tone bristling.

The bird looked down and was equally surprised to see the pink, smooth cloth. Unlike Cynthia, however, she was not worried about how they had been snuck up on. She was far more enamoured with the box. ”Ooh what’s this!?” she jumped from Cynthia’s shoulder and landed a single cautious inch away from the box, leaning her head close to it to get a better close-up. ”What’s this, what’s this! Let’s uncover it!”

”Ammy, w-“ Cynthia, who had still been searching for the source of the strange box, was too late, and the bird Pokemon had already seized the corner of the dark pink cloth in her beak and given it a sharp tug, flapping her wings hard to pull her cargo back and reveal the rather plain round box beneath it.

Cynthia frowned disapprovingly before her own curiosity finally caught up with Amnisiad’s. ”Well... I guess it’s just a box...” she spoke somewhat doubtfully before crouching down beside it. Amnisiad dropped the cloth and came hopping closer again, but Cynthia held her hand up, between Amnisiad and the box. ”Just in case it’s a trap of some sort, let me open it,” she said lowly. After a careful visual examination of the box and its surroundings, during which the Fletchling hopped impatiently back and forth with her eyes glued to the box, she finally gave a curt nod. From an arms distance away, Cynthia reached out and snatched the lid off the box, pulling her arm back close to her. Nothing happened, so she leaned forward and peered inside...

Lore

To Cynthia's relief, it was not a trap or some other unpleasant prank being played on her by someone who was better than her at stalking quietly through the forest. Rather, it was a beautiful silver bell roughly the diameter of a large token. She picked it up between her thumb and forefinger, lifting it from its small box to bring it closer to her face. As she examined it, Amnisiad impatiently let out a soft chirp and then fluttered onto her wrist, leaning down to also look at the pretty bell. Cynthia gently rocked it back and forth in between her fingers, and it made a lovely, albeit muffled, sound. She smiled as Amnisiad took another hop closer to it and chirped a soft, longing chirp.

"You want to hear it again?" Cynthia asked gently. The bird's eyes stayed fixated on the bell. It was just... so... shiny. Cynthia carefully shook it again, and the soft chiming sound returned. Amnisiad flapped her wings and sang a lilting few notes in accompaniment.

Between shaking the bell, something soft brushed against another of her fingers. Cynthia's turned her hand and her attention was drawn to a little ribbon threaded through the top of the bell. With both hands, she took the bell and tied a simple, tight knot. Amnisiad watched, still sitting on Cynthia's hand and splaying her feathers out every once in a while to stay balanced.

"Well, since you seem to like it so much, you can keep it," Cynthia said with the hints of a smile still playing around her lips. She took the ribbon in two fingers and delicately pulled it over her Fletchling's head, allowing the bell to nestle against the robin Pokemon's breast.

Amnisiad looked up at Cynthia, eyes bright and wide with happiness. Even though she thought the bird wouldn't be able to understand it, Cynthia hesitated before saying softly, "I love you, Ammy."

For all the goals stated at the beginning, this was a short thread, which is why the gains are relatively small. Still, progress is progress, right? And look at that shiny bell on that adorable birb! <3<3
