Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new universe, this new world, and give it purpose. (Our site is best viewed in Firefox or Chrome.)

Events

It's the most wonderful
time of the year- meaning, the time of Delibird gifts and of winter festivals! And as always, our plot events are still going strong.

Season

winter will be here until
March. Aside from the western Great Forest, which is too warm, and the Desert Strip, which is too dry, snow begins to fall across the region. The chill of the season has just about every area firmly in its grasp. Ice and Dark types become more common as the temperature drops and the daylight fades.

((Hopefully ahahah RIP Me))

Ri knew what a pokedex was. That little... Machine, piece of technology... She'd seen it in Sunny's hands, and she knew what it could do. It seemed to have information available in it... Information on pokemon, which she figured could be pretty damn useful... Especially since she er... Knew minimal amounts about Arashi and Yuki's species other than their typings and species names. Though... Considering how valuable the redhead figured it was... She doubted that it'd be easy to get her hands on some. Why was she doing this now, when she was literally in the fucking mountains? She guessed now was as any good a time as any to start looking.

It wasn't obvious in Omega's camp who might be selling and what they might have.... So, Ri figured she'd just have to ask around. Which she wasn't too enthusiastic about, but there wasn't really any other way. She'd convinced her pokemon to remain in the tent, and well... Mostly for Sai and Venom to keep an eye on Yuki and Arashi.

So, she did her best to smile a bit... Except even though she couldn't see her expression, she figured it might look weird. So, she relaxed her expression into someone passive, but vaguely positive... She probably looked somewhat friendly at least... Hopefully. Shoving her hands into her pockets, she picked someone in Omega's camp and walked up to them. They didn't seem too busy, so Ri figured it wouldn't immediately piss him off to be in a conversation suddenly.

"Hey so... You know if anyone around here's got pokedexes they're willing to sell?" She asked, getting straight to the point.

@kira

The ambiguously gendered ambiguously aged person looked up at Ri as they sat cross-legged on the ground, whittling down the end of a long stick. "Mm, can't say that I've heard of anybody wanting to sell one of those. But there's some people out on the outskirts of the camp that way," they pointed toward the south-eastern end of the camp, "That sometimes make trips to Crater to trade. Just look for their cart. Try asking them, maybe they can try to find one the next time they make a trip." The person's voice was monotone, but at least they weren't antagonistic or defensive. And they seemed to be at least somewhat helpful, though they didn't have what Ri was looking for.

(Strike one. No luck yet, two more tries in this thread. You can have her ask the people by the cart for her next chance.)

Ri supposed it made sense that she wouldn't find what she wanted from the first person she walked up to. Her eyes followed where the person pointed to. "Ah. I see. Thanks." She left off an 'I guess', figuring it would probably make her sound like more of an asshole. Following their advice, the redhead moved towards the south-eastern end of the camp, that the person had pointed to. After a period of walking, Ri saw the cart that the person had told her to look for. She noticed some people by the cart and walked up to them, trying to keep her expression passive in the positive direction. The cold didn't do much for her mood, and she always found a bit hard to be genuinely friendly even in a good mood.

She walked up to the people by the cart and waved a greeting. "Hello. I'm looking for pokedexes. I was told to try and ask you." She said, stating her purpose as directly as she could, without being.... Too rude, probably.

@kira

A couple- apparently a married couple, if the identical thin bands of metal on their fingers were any indication- both turned to acknowledge Ri as she approached and made her request. The man nodded to her while the woman addressed her. "A Pokedex is a high order, but we can certainly ask around in Crater. Fortunately for you we will be heading out tomorrow; when we return we'll search you out to tell you if we got lucky or not. Deal?" Luckily for Ri, it seemed the woman was totally fine ditching the small talk and getting straight to the point.

---

About a week later, the woman's husband found Ri at the camp and approached her, offering to shake her hand in greeting, though he had bad news to share. "There were no Pokedexes to be bought in Crater, miss, but my wife and I wanted to let you know that we will be making a trip into Ashfield in a little while, so we will check there for you. Might be better luck."

(Strike two. RNG is not cooperating. One more try in this thread. The same couple will check for a Pokedex again assuming she agrees.)

Ri nodded. "Sounds good." She replied to the married couple. It was short and to the point, and she liked it that way. Anyway, it was admitted to be... Tough. So, she hadn't been incorrect in her assumption that it was valuable and rare. She guessed she'd have to wait until whenever they'd gone and come back, completing their run to Crater City. She waved goodbye and walked off.

Several days later, the husband from the married couple found Ri sitting right outside her tent. She stood up as he approached, and to remain.... Polite, she shook his hand in return. "Ah. I see. That's alright. Thank you." She replied. She guessed there would be another wait until she'd see if the fates would turn... Or continue being generally obstructive. She wouldn't give up... She didn't see a point in giving up. But.... It could possibly prolong her search for quite the stretch of time.

Unfortunately, when the husband tracked Ri down for a second time, he could still only bring bad news. He apologized, and said that he and his wife would keep their eye out for a Pokedex... but Ri would still have to leave empty-handed.

(Strike three. You got closer this time, but not close enough. Since this was strike 3 in this thread, the thread is now closed and you have to wait 7 (RL) days before trying again.)
