Ri decided to go out and leave Omega's Camp... Temporarily. She'd gone into the tunnels a few times and the last time had turned decidedly sour. So, she needed a break. At the same time, she didn't want to spend her time in Omega's Camp. It'd gotten boring and she needed to stretch her legs properly instead of sitting on her ass. The opportunity to get a good walk around with hopefully no other humans around. Sure, whenever the redhead decided to go out and hang around, occasionally aggressive pokemon would find her.... Or Venom would piss them off. That's usually how it went down, since the Seviper didn't really seem keen on diplomacy... Or anything vaguely resembling it. She wondered if she could somehow convince him to calm down a bit.... That'd be nice.

Maybe if he appreciated flower crowns more.

Sadly, there were less flowers in the mountains than in the rainforest surrounding Ashfield City. Oh well. She wasn't going to stay in the mountains forever. She'd consider going to visit Blue but er.... She kind of wanted to go back to Ashfield, and Oasis sounded like the prickly sort, especially to immigrants. Ri still kind of screamed immigrant, and she wasn't the type to hide something like that.

Anyway, here Ri was out on her walk, holding Yuki's basket in hand, as the Seel lay there with her eyes closed. She was probably pretending to sleep, since the redhead had noticed that as of late... The water-type napped less. She still slept a healthy amount, though she pretended to be asleep a lot of the waking hours, judging by how quickly she responded when disturbed... Usually by Arashi. She thought their relationship was shaping up well... Though, er.... She couldn't hear what they were actually saying, but she gathered that Yuki could be a bit... Abrasive maybe, judging by how Arashi could get huffy or rather upset after the two spent some time barking at each other. That was her best guess, anyway.

Venom was, as usual, slithering by her side. He seemed to be in a good mood... Probably. He seemed generally unbothered by Ri's latest chattering... Though, he never did seem bothered. Which was nice, since she was talking about Blue at the moment and recalling the shitty mess that was her last tunnel adventure.... Despite the fact that everyone present had been there.

Sai trailed further behind... Kind of keeping her distance. Ri was a little worried, since sometimes Sai seemed quite and the redhead could barely keep from calling her despondent at times. It was... Concerning, but Ri didn't know what to do or how to help. The behavior made her anxious.

Arashi was... Her normal self and bouncing along ahead of them... Though, not too far. Close enough that Ri wouldn't have much of a problem rushing forward and picking up the zebra if need be. Arashi wasn't light as a feather, but she wasn't too obscenely heavy like Venom was, so Ri would be able to pick her up.

Anyway, that was them. A girl and her company of pokemon, walking in the mountains... With said girl chatting away the silence.

She really hoped nothing too deadly happened upon them.

The shell-bearing bug knew just where to go to find the best berries for miles around. These particular berries, a golden yellow with darker speckles, were not common in these parts. They were well known for their healing properties by both human and Pokemon alike.

But this particular bush of Sitrus berries was his. He had found it many months ago, nestled in a cranny in one of the infinite rocky rolling hills of his homeland, and he had frequently defended his bush from others who wanted to pluck from it.

He was currently reaping the fruits of his labor; the berries were nearly overripe, but that was how he liked them. Plucking them with his yellow limbs one by one from the bush, he pulled them into his white and red shell for fermentation. These would surely make for a delicious juice!

So absorbed was he in his task, however, that he did not see Ri and her company approaching from a distance- neither did he see the creature who was approaching rapidly from behind.

//Those berries! Give them to me! I.. I need just a few!//

The Shuckle's initial reaction to the greedy voice was to flinch and suck his limbs into his shell defensively; a moment later, though, he was popped back out, shuffling around to face the intruder and waggling his front limbs threateningly. His small, beady eyes squinted at the snow-covered creature that challenged him and demanded his berries.

//No! These are mine, I have worked hard for them! You can't take them from me!//

But the Vanillite was not going to be easily deterred.

//Give them to me, or else! The icy creature demanded in a screechy voice. To emphasize her point and make a show of force, she spun about, sending a blast of frozen winds all about her- the blast even reached Ri and her group, though they were far enough that it was merely an unpleasantly cold wind rather than a damaging one, unless they had already begun to move toward the two wild creatures, in which case the icy wind might have had a bit of a bite to it.

Ri was really glad that she managed to grab Arashi, before she could rush forward out of excitement. She'd had to drop Yuki's basket in her rush to grab the Blitzle, before she could get too far. She'd heard the Seel's cry of surprise, but looking back, the redhead figured that she seemed fine... Just a bit surprised at being dropped so suddenly.

Looking ahead, Ri was glad that she'd grabbed Arashi in time. The whole group had noticed that they'd been approaching a wild pokemon. She noticed that it looked... Actually a bit colorful. A sort of yellow... Um... She wasn't really sure how to describe it other than as something yellow inside a red shell. Nevertheless, the redhead was pretty sure that Arashi had spotted the Shuckle as well, and was about to go running towards him before Ri had caught her.

Nervously, she spared a glance at Venom. Between Venom and Arashi... The pair actually had a rather bad habit of uh... Well, the two were more um... Independent and prone to running off with no warning than Yuki or Sai. Ri had a feeling that even if Yuki could go about on land with ease, she would still stay in her basket... The younger water-type had a rather unmotivated attitude in general. Sai wasn't normally aggressive and usually was content hanging back... Ri noticed she only really uh... Followed Venom's lead.

Thank fuck that Venom just seemed to be eyeing the scene ahead curiously, but still staying a good safe distance far away. Especially good, since ahead, Ri could see up ahead that uh... Well... The Shuckle appeared to be no longer alone. She wasn't really sure what was happening, but the screaming ice cream cone let loose a gust of wind... Thankfully, Ri and her group were far enough away still that it was just... Uncomfortably chilly and rough by the time it reached them. Ri groaned out loud, "Ugh."

She wasn't even surprised when she saw Venom slithering away, up to the Shuckle and Vanillite, after the cold wind had subsided. She just groaned again.

It didn't take a genius to know where Venom was going up there.

When Venom reached the two pokemon that were up ahead, one of the first things he noticed was the berry bush... He uh.... Had a vague feeling those were.... Helpful berries, but otherwise he didn't really know what was the big deal with this dumb bush. He didn't like berries anyway, so why did he have to know about them?

Judging by the presence of the bush... They were probably fighting over it. Venom decided to make the great decision of joining in on the fight... Not for the berries, but just to fight. It'd be great if both of them died. The... Sai wasn't here yet to uh... Provide support yet... But she'd get over here eventually, he was sure. In the meantime, he struck at the flying icy... Thing with his tail blade.

Distracted by the icy wind that came from the vanillite, the shuckle did not see the large serpent heading in their direction. Even after taking damage from the cold wind he was more concerned with what harm the venomous snake could cause. Shuckle immediately withdrew back into his crimson shell. He just wanted to flee the scene as quickly as possible. Knowing he couldn’t wiggle or waddle away his best bet was to just roll away.

Annoyed that the bug had retreated back into his shell and was trying to flee, the floating ice type was about to make an attempt to attack the shuckle once more.//I warned you!// she cried out preparing another chilling attack. But before she could do so, her attention was turned by the suddenly large shadow that hovered over her. As cold as the pokemon was in nature, she was not expecting to receive a chill so frightening as she did when she saw the serpent coiled up behind her.

The vanillite was afraid for her life but most importantly she feared of the consequences of what her death could mean. Before the frozen cone could defend herself she was struck by the sevipers tail. The blade of the serpent’s tail full of dark energy sent her rolling backward into the snow. She felt weak but would not give in just yet. In preparation for the seviper’s next possible move, vanillite chilled herself even more to harden the ice that was her body. This would create an iron defense against another assault.

//Have mercy? I-I need those berries for my baby!// she pleaded. Snakes were cold predators. Probably colder than this ice type and yet she thought she could beg for her life. There was no way she was going to live another attack. //If I die, my baby dies!//

Lying on her side, the vanillite could see the human and her other pokemon in the not-to-far distance. The human woman had a young pokemon in her arms. She would understand doing what was needed for one’s child. The cone-shaped pokemon hoped the human could recall her snake. Or perhaps distract it long enough for the vanillite to flee.

Venom had noticed that his appearance had frightened the... The Shuckle. The... Bug-thing had withdrawn into his shell and rolled away. He was slightly annoyed, but he could still settle for the ice-type. Besides, he supposed he could be happy with that his presence was scary enough to convince the pokemon to leave his berry bush. Not that he cared about berries, but he guessed some of the weaker pokemon out there did. Hm. It actually did make him feel better. He prided himself on being intimidating after all.... Well, that and his ability to make corpses out of the pokemon he met.

The icy, fairly edible-looking pokemon had not noticed Venom's advance until it was too late, his tail knocked the Vanillite back. The ice-type's fear was delicious to drink in... He was smirking best he could with his serpentine jaws. He kept waving his tail blade back and forth.

He could see that the ice-type had done something... But it didn't matter. He'd just have to hit harder. "(I don't care.)" Was all he had to say in response to the ice-type's pleading. He didn't care about berries or the babies of others. Completely ignoring the ice-type's cry for mercy, he moved to strike again, in exactly the same manner, slashing his tail back and forth at the ice-type. He really hoped whatever the ice-type had done... It wouldn't prolong the battle too long or save the ice-type.

Ri had contemplated rushing forward to catch up to Venom. But... She could see that one of the pokemon was fleeing the scene, while another remained. That one seemed to be the one that had attacked from afar. She was still on the ground, holding onto Arashi... But she didn't feel inclined to let her go or move... Not yet, anyway. She was not a fan of the idea of letting Yuki and Arashi get hit by the long-range ice cream cone from up ahead. Whatever an ice cream cone was, anyway. Anyway, she'd stay down here while Venom... Dealt with it. He seemed to have things under control probably. Regardless, she saw that Sai was approaching. Sai could take care of herself, so it was fine.

Sai hadn't gone up at first, but she figured she should join Venom? He seemed to have things under control, but just in case. Some days she wasn't sure why she followed the Seviper in fights, helping him kill what he wanted. She guessed it was because... It was their dynamic...? Besides, she guessed it did help Venom listen to her sometimes and... Treat her better. She's useful like this, right? She tried not to think of Sasha's words. Of being different from Venom. What would Sasha think of her, always running after Venom in event of a fight...?

--------------------------------

Venom (Seviper): 100%, Using NIGHT SLASH x2 on Vanillite, I don't care

Sai (Psyduck): 100%, Running up to join Venom

Arashi (Blitzle): 100%, Still held back by Ri

Yuki (Seel): 100%, In a basket

Seeing that her pleads meant nothing to the serpent and that there was no one around to save her, the vanillite knew she was going to die. Her baby, where ever it was hidden was going to die due to the injuries that it received from the pack of predators who lurked in this part of the mountains. After the first strike of the snake’s tail the ice-type shrieked in pain. The blade of the tail smacked into her cracking her skull on impact. The cone was already dead when the second smack hit her lifeless corpse.

Watching from a hill nearby Ri and her party was a young brown creature with a long body and sharp row of teeth. The mongoose was keeping on eye on the human and her pokemon as the large snake killed the weak little puff of snow. The ice type was in his pack’s territory and they were hunting her down to finish her off. Losing track of her and her baby this yungoos had finally found her but it was too late. She was already defeated by these new intruders. It wouldn’t be long before the pack caught up with him and he felt like this would be an opportunity to prove himself.

While Sai and Venom were over by the corpse of the vanillite, the yungoos crept up quietly to where Ri was with Yuki and Arashi. The mongoose looked so proud of himself that he was able to sneak up without detection. “You need to leave!” he hissed at the human woman. The yungoos stood in a battle ready pose, bearing his sharp rows of teeth. His size wasn’t very intimidating but a bite from this one would do some serious damage.

Waddling down the same hill was another creature with brown and white fur. This one was a lot hairier but rounder around the belly. This clumsy raccoon like pokemon tumbled down the hill as she landed next to the yungoos. They were part of the same pack that ran this area and she had finally caught up with him seeing that he was trying to intimidate some humans. “Hey, what are you doing? You’re going to get yourself killed without the others!”she cried.

The mongoose gave the zigzagoon a vexed leer. “You fool, you’re embarrassing me while I’m trying to look scary!”

Zigzagoon looked up at the human girl with her reddish-brown hair as she seemed to be keeping and eye on her young pokemon slaves. The other two in the distance were a large serpent and a round yellow bird. They looked pretty strong so it was a good thing the others from the pack were planning on handling them. “The others wanted you to wait but I guess it doesn’t matter now.” the raccoon giggled at her pack mate. The mongoose looked up at the human once more to continue his threat.

"Leave!" he continued, bearing his teeth. Even if Ri’s pokemon were to make it over to her with the distance they had between them the others from the pack were closing in and it was going to get rough pretty soon. Who knew? Perhaps she could handle them just fine but was it worth risking her companions?

Venom's first strike was enough to kill the Vanillite, and his second strike seemed to turn out a waste of energy. Nevertheless... The ice-type was dead, and the Seviper was feeling rather good about himself. A good kill always improved his mood. He was unaware of the two normal-types who were approaching the human and the babies of their group.

Ri hadn't noticed either... Until she was being hissed at some mongoose. She looked at the Yungoos... And she gathered uh... Honestly the hissing was obviously hostile, so it could mean two things. Go the fuck away, or it could be intimidation before he was going to attack. She wasn't sure which it meant. She glanced over to where Venom and Sai were. Then she glanced back at the Yungoos, who was soon joined by his raccoon friend. The Yungoos and Zigzagoon seemed to... Have some exchange. It seemed like an argument... By Ri's guessing. She could be wrong.

Sai, by chance had glanced over back at the human. She instantly noticed the two younger pokemon by the human and... Arashi and Yuki. Fretting a little bit, since she wasn't sure the human or Yuki could convince Arashi to not attack, since unfortunately... Thanks to Venom, she was a little too eager to be able to have her chance in a fight.

She immediately began trying to hurry back to the human and the two youngest of their group. "(Venom! We have to go back!)" She cried as she started running best she could. It was taking her some time to get back, and she wasn't sure she'd make it in time. So, she did her best to spit out a stream of water out towards the threatening pokemon. Her water gun couldn't reach them, but hopefully it'd come close enough to at least make them think twice.

Venom's good mood had been interrupted by Sai's cry, and he looked back and.... Oh. More pokemon. Briefly taking the time to flick his tongue, he began rushing back as well, just behind Sai. He might not have legs, but... Her legs weren't as optimally built for rushing. So, they were both roughly the same speed as they hurried back.

Arashi was about to rush forward to attack, eager to play the game she'd been taught. But then water had struck the ground near her! She glanced back at Sai, and the intervention had been enough to distract her from taking the opportunity to attack.

Yuki was not as distracted, reaching to poke her head out of the basket and she glared directly at the two offending pokemon. She didn't think Arashi had put much stock into what the two other pokemon had been saying, but Yuki had been paying attention. It kind of sounded... Like more pokemon were coming, and these two were probably hostile. She growled out at them. Hopefully, if they struck out at Arashi, it wouldn't be too bad.

Though the stream of water failed to reach the two brown pokemon it did startle them however. The distraction drew their attention toward Sai’s direction to see the yellow bird and her serpent companion rushing toward them. The zigzagoon and yungoos were worried that they were about to die soon. If the snake caught up they’d surely be strangled and swallowed whole. Their pack leader was not a fan of snakes, particularly sevipers and once she showed up, they were in the clear.

“Ah, what do we do?” cried the zigzagoon to her mongoose packmate.

The yungoos looked at the path behind them and then back at the oncoming pokemon. “No, we can take them!” he hissed. Surely his naivety would get them killed.

This was not going to be the case however, as the other pack mates that were on the hunt had spotted their young allies. A bluish-black weasel with red feathers on its tail and left ear came charging into the scene to intercept the seviper and psyduck from reaching their friends. He stopped on the path that led them directly to Ri. Whatever actions they were going to take to save her would have to be put on hold as the sneasel stood her ground with her sharp claws out, prepared to attack.

“Where do you think you’re going?” the ice demon hissed at Sai as the yellow duck waddled toward her trainer.

Behind Venom was another mongoose like creature that also shared features of a cat. With a mostly white furred body and red markings. This sharp clawed creature stood twice as tall as the sneasel that blocked the path forward. It’s eyes were bright red with instinctive rage as it locked its senses onto the seviper known as Venom. Something inside of it screamed that it wanted the snake dead, even if it hadn’t wronged it anyway. There was an ancestral rivalry between the two species and only one was going to walk away.

“Rrraaaarrr!” the Zangoose shrieked as it charged after venom holding out its claws to scratch the viper.

The other packmates had finally show up and one of them was the leader. She would save the two brown younglings from making their mistake to try to take on a human and her pets. Zigzagoon honestly wanted to run away but if all her allies were in the fight then she had to do her part. Her contribution became clear when the young seel began to growl at them. The shrieking hurt the rodent and mongoose’s ears and for a moment it threw them off.

“Would you shut your mouth?” the furry brown rodent squeaked, slapping some snowy mud from the ground with her tail, at the seel.

Seeing his ally attack the yungoos grew excited. This was what he wanted, to fight and show his pack he was tough! He just didn’t want to get kicked in the face by that human and she had her pokemon right next to her. Unlike the zigzagoon, he had no long ranged attacks. He’d just have to goad the opponents into attacking him first. Seeing that the young zebra was anxious to make a move he figured that would be his target. The mongoose leered at the blitzle letting her know he wanted to fight.

The appearance of the weasel and mongoose pair had surprised Venom, and he hissed reflexively at the intervention. Though, looking at the Zangoose elicited a spark of fear that soon fueled hatred aimed at the offending pokemon. He always wanted to kill what he could, prove that he was better. He hissed at Sai. "(We need to kill the mongoose first.)"

Then the Sneasel was challenging them. Sai's feathers felt ruffled. She didn't get angry often, but these two predators were in the way of them getting to Arashi and Yuki. They didn't have time for this! She heard what Venom had to say. Yes... Maybe if they could both incapacitate one, it'd be easier for them to get back to the younger of their group. "(You're not as scary as you think you are.)" She responded, the heat evident in her voice.

Then the Zangoose shrieked as she struck forward, scratching Venom's scales, him hissing out of pain. The rage he felt fueled his next strike at the Zangoose, his tail blade streaking dark energy as he struck against the mongoose. Then after he'd swung his tail, he'd withdraw.

Then Sai shot a blast of pink energy from her bill at the Zangoose, following Venom's plan of focusing their attacks on the Zangoose.

Unfortunately, when Yuki looked, it seemed like Venom and Sai would be held up by those older pokemon.... Hopefully the older ones would be able to handle themselves fine.

Arashi was still entirely within earshot of the raccoon and mongoose pair, but she didn't really care about what they were saying. It seemed like she'd finally get her chance to fight! This was so exciting!

Yuki heard the angry squeak. "(How about no?)" She replied as she ducked back into her basket, as the human tilted the basket, trying to shield Yuki from it. Given that it was a little hard to kick mud from the ground up into basket being held up, the attack didn't exactly hit true.

Meanwhile, Arashi shuddered at the glare, before shaking it off. She rushed forward at the Yungoos, before rapidly turning on her feet and kicking Yungoos twice. Though, she almost slipped on her feet and tumbled. Thankfully, she just barely managed to keep her balance.

Ri was feeling kind of stressed out. There were two hostile pokemon in front of her, and two others holding up Venom and Sai. Now, Arashi was picking fights, and she'd had to count her blessings that a basket apparently made a decent mud shield. Dammit, she wasn't sure what she could do. She needed to at least hold onto Yuki.... But.... She was just worried and entirely sure what she could do that would make a meaningful distance.

Feeling the sting of the seviper’s tail, Zangoose roared in anger. She refused to let the pain affect her assault. It was the second attack from Sai that threw her off. She rolled backward hitting the ground. Feeling the cold of the snow beneath her body, the zangoose was enraged.

The pack leader jumped back onto her feet in preparation for counter strike but she did not expect the blast of power coming from the psyduck. The cat-mongoose thought that a preemptive strike meant that she would have the advantage but she did not account for the possibility that both targets would take on one opponent. She expected their forces to be divided and for that to happen, sneasel had to jump into the fight. With that, the zangoose dropped on all fours having taken too much damage.

At this moment, sneasel had no idea why he hesitated. His leader had taken a few hits before he was abe to act and he was just standing there. The ice demon dashed forward with dark energy filling his body, crashing full force into the yellow duck. “Don’t you look away from me!” he screeched during his feint attack.

“I swear, we’ll feast on your corpse. You and your human master…” the zangoose growled, as blood dripped down from her mouth. With her pack mate having finally assisted, Zangoose figured she could muster up the strength to go in for another attack. She held out her claws and struck forward at the serpent hoping to cause as much damage as possible.

Seeing the seel use the basket as a shield, the zigzagoon was deeply annoyed. The coward was hiding inside of her human made contraption and refused to participate in the fight. Since the human was protecting the seel, the raccoon figured it would be best to just help out her pack mate. She turned to the zebra and mongoose to see her friend being kicked in the side.

Yungoos felt the hoove of Arashi drive into his side. Naturally the size of the zebra was enough to send the small brown creature flying back. It wasn’t enough to stop him though, so of course the mongoose rushed in to try and counter, but his attempt was met with another kick. This time it was to the face and boy did that hurt.

Judging from how powerful those kicks were to the mongoose, the raccoon was mostly afraid of receiving the same force to her face. To keep her safe distance, the zigzagoon went for another mud-slap but this time at Arashi. Hopefully, she could blind the zebra and affect his accuracy. With that effort, the damaged yungoos went into for a tackle, in an attempt to knock the blitzle over.

Venom was happy to see the damage endured by the Zangoose, though mildly annoyed she wasn't out quite yet. The mongoose was forced into a four-legged stance, though, too weak to still effectively fight on two legs. He was happy and he believed he'd come out of those, crowing over his natural enemy's corpse. He was looking forward to it, almost drooling over the concept, looking forward to this kill in particular. After these two were dead, those two kids of their's over by the human and.... His reluctantly taken students, were next.

Sai was struck by the Sneasel's tackling, sinister attack. She was knocked back a little, feeling a bit winded from the damage. She coughed back out a response. "(You'll get your time...)" She snapped. Before she turned her next attack, identical to her last strike, on the Sneasel finally. She figured Venom could take the Zangoose now, probably... Especially since she had to deal with this clown a little more obviously.

"(Ha. You've got it the other way around. Except, I'm not even hungry right now. You'll be dead, your friend and those dumb kids too. I'll just leave you rotting here.)" He hissed back, feeling the cuts that Zangoose was slashing into his scales, but he wasn't done yet. He struck back again, his tail blade swung with that dark energy again. He hoped this strike would be the one to incapacitate the Zangoose. It'd be awfully easy to kill an unconscious target.

Arashi was ecstatic her kicks actually worked! The Yungoos was knocked away a bit, and she was glancing off to the side due to her using her hindlegs. She spotted the Zigzagoon kicking up mud, similarly to when she'd tried to attack Yuki! Trying to get out of the way, her hooves flashed white as she zipped out of the way, only to be hit by Yungoos crashing into her body. Unused to being hurt, it made her stumble back and forced her take a moment to recapture her breath. Though, Arashi was prepared to keep going. She didn't want to lose her first time. She figured Yuki would be sad if Arashi lost her first game and couldn't come back. So, considering the Yungoos was still closer, she kicked him again with her hindlegs.

Yuki was still trapped in her basket, and unfortunately she didn't think she could help. She was always... This. The napping and sheltered one, despite being the less naive one of the youngest pair. So, she kept doing what she could to help, trying to sabotage the enemy's efforts, growling out from her basket.

Taking the final hit from seviper, Zangoose crashed back into the snow. She looked up at the sky knowing this was her end. It didn’t bother her that she died here. She felt a bit of pride knowing she battled 2 opponents and was able to damage the snake mostly. “Don’t be so proud…” the zangoose coughed as blood dripped down her cheek. “It took two of you to defeat me…” She let out her last breath as she passed. The vision of the blue sky being the last thing she saw.

The sneasel had got his hit in and retreated backward. He wanted to keep his vision of both enemies and being up close to them was dangerous. As he watched his leader go down he was caught unaware by the blast of energy being fired at him by the psyduck. The weasel fell back onto the ground feeling his vision blur for a moment. He picked himself up and analyzed the situation. Without their leader they’d surely go down, but not without causing some great damage. It was that or survival. He thought of a way to get out of this without losing the pack.

“Wait!” the sneasel called out. “Spare me and I’ll command the younglings to retreat!” It was the only thing he could offer and if the snake and duck cared anything for their human and ally pokemon then this would surely be the perfect deal, right? “If you kill me, no one will stop them from holding back,” he panted as the last few words left his mouth. He couldn’t count of the seviper to make the tough call as it seemed to only be focused on its blood lust, but perhaps the psyduck could be persuaded.

Zigzagoon was super annoyed her was dodged again! These human tamed were crafty but so were they. The distraction from dodging the mud-slap allowed yungoos to smack right into the blitzle’s side. He rolled back and landed on his feet in preparation for a counter attack.

“Nice work, buddy!” The raccoon called out.

Looking over to his friend, the yungoos didn’t see the next kick coming. Before he had a chanced to react, Arashi’s hooves smacked directly into his jaw. The impact knocked the wind out of him as he felt his vision blur. It was the second kick that knocked him out completely. The mongoose was thrown back into the snow, falling unconscious.

Zigzagoon watched in shock. “No!!!” he cried out. She was sure he was dead but he could honestly just be knocked out. She was too young to know the difference. Enraged by the zebra’s actions she did not feel like this was a game any longer. She only came here to support her pack mate and now he was down for the count. Before the raccoon could take action, she heard the loud screeching of the blob in the basket. It only added to her rage even if it was a slight distraction. Her claws extended and she dashed for the side of a hill. Climbing up and leaping off the side to come hurtling down at Arashi with her claws out.

Venom hissed lowly. "(... I could've done it on my own... But I've got places to be...)" He snarled at the now dead corpse of the mongoose, regardless of whether she heard him. He didn't care.... He needed to say it. Besides, the stupid Zangoose was dead now. He was happy, and he turned his vicious gaze upon the Sneasel that accompanied the adult mongoose, his tongue flicking as he showed his fangs. He was preparing to strike against the demonic weasel, when suddenly she spoke out.

She said she could get the younglings to stop attacking the zebra and seal.... But... He didn't care as much. As well, he was a little too distracted to make any sort of informed long-term decisions... However, Sai wasn't. She wasn't actually big enough to block Venom's path with a wing, but the gesture remained the same. Her death glare stopped Venom in his tracks, and honestly... The threat of Sai, considering the fact that she was strong enough to kick his ass and was supposed to be an ally, and thus with him often... Plus a few other factors... She liked to think that Venom at least listened to her threats. Venom grunted and pulled back, sulking on the ground.

Sai turned to the Sneasel and nodded. "(... Fine. But you better do it now.)" She snapped at the ice-type, because unlike Venom... She cared a great deal about Arashi and Yuki. She wanted them to live, and Yuki was likely unable to assist in the battle, and Arashi... She was too young to fight off two different potentially strong... At least compared to the young and inexperienced zebra.... Opponents. She pierced the Sneasel with a glare to convey the urgency with which the Psyduck expected the Sneasel to ask with, lest she desire her life and her own youngling's lives spared.

Arashi couldn't really tell the difference between dead and unconscious either, considering that she'd mostly only seen dead before. Unconscious was not something she was really overly familiar with. But regardless, the raccoon's shout caught her attention. She looked to see, and suddenly the striped one was hurtling towards her with claws outstretched! She barely had time to react before she was knocked to the ground and felt the shredding pain of the raccoon's claws digging into her pelt. When the attack abated, she tried to be quick to get back on her feet, but the reality was that the pain was making her head feel funny, and she had a hard time finding her footing. A little nervous, she debated whether to hide behind the human or keep fighting.... This indecision kept her from attacking.

Venom (Seviper): 56%, Reluctantly listening

Sai (Psyduck): 70%, Do it. Now.

Arashi (Blitzle): 28%, Getting nervous......

Yuki (Seel): 100%, Kind of hiding.....

The sneasel was pretty sure that the seviper was going to end him and despite the fact he offered to take the younglings away, he could care less about their lives. The demon was mainly concerned for his and knowing that the serpent was just as careless for the young gave him a sense of imminent doom. He shut in eyes in preparation for the next attack to eliminate him but instead the psyduck had intervened.

Sai had agreed to the demon’s terms and even though his planned worked he still stood in shock. Not over thinking it much longer the sneasel nodded at Sai and dashed to where Ri and her babies were. The demon made no eye contact with the human or the two young pokemon she cared for. The one in the basket or the one that seemed to be almost defeated. He placed himself in between the zigzagoon and the human, preventing the young raccoon from striking once more.

“That’s enough, you idiot. Can’t you see we lost this one?” he snarled. The zigzagoon looked up at her elder to see that he was furious and a bit worn from the fight. “Leader is dead, time to retreat,” he commanded.

The beady eyed raccoon peered around to see the corpse of the zangoose and the unconscious body of her friend. Sneasel was right. They were in way over their head and it was better to live another day than fight to the death. “We can’t leave yungoos here,” she whined.

Sneasel looked down at the defeated mongoose and rolled his eyes. “He’s weak. He’s not worth it,” the demon hissed at his younger pack mate. The zigzagoon stood in place, paralyzed with a difficult choice on her mind. Leave the yungoos or save her own life? “Fine, if you want to stay and die, then be my guest!” the ice type roared. As he made his way to take off, the zigzagoon moved with him.

“Wait! I’m coming!” the raccoon cried out. She hated that she had to abandon him but her own survival was more important in the long run and perhaps she could avenge him one day. Sneasel and Zigzagoon fled into the hills regretting their decision to attack the unsuspecting human and her tamed pokemon. Zangoose lied there with her corpse freezing in the snow. She’d be good food for the mandibuzz or any other scavengers that would come along. As for the yungoos, should his body be undisturbed, he’d eventually wake and flee into the hills as well.

The path ahead was free for Ri and her team to venture forth should she choose to do so. If not, there was nothing behind her to stop her from returning to camp.

Fortunately for Sai, the Sneasel seemed to listen. The Sneasel went away and growled at the young Zigzagoon. Soon after, the two wild pokemon were gone. Though, they left the unconscious Yungoos behind. In comparison, Sai was better at discerning an unconscious body from a lifeless one. Sai sighed. She turned and began to slowly walk back towards the human and the children.

Venom was following behind her, she could tell because he immediately began hissing at her. "(You got in my way.)" He snarled.

"(It was a choice between murder and protecting our own.)" Sai said without hesitation, her voice calm and level. "(I can keep my head. You can't.)" She was sure that out of them, excluding the human, the only one Venom was vaguely attached to was her. Arashi and Yuki would be waiting a long time before Venom might even consider fighting on their behalf. Arashi was.... A little bit closer since she was trying... It also helped she had legs that would allow her to move about on land, she worshipped the ground Venom slithered on, and that she was embracing his teachings a little too hard. Though, she annoyed him... She shook her head gently to herself.

Venom kept his grumbling hissing all the way as they returned to the main group.

"(Hey... Arashi?)" Sai asked. "(Are you okay?)"

Arashi was startled, and ended up falling to the ground. Her legs were too weak to hold her up with that sudden shock. "(A-Argh.... I'm f-fine!)" The Blitzle said quickly, and not convincing the duck in the slightest.

Sai walked over to held Arashi slowly get back onto her hooves. Then she glanced over at Yungoos. Then back at the Blitzle. "(That was dangerous. You're not old enough to fight on your own.)" She scolded. "(You knocked out one, but the other one almost killed you.)"

Arashi blinked. "(Knocked out....? Aw.....)" She seemed disappointed that she hadn't killed the mongoose.

Ri wasn't sure what happened... But something seemed the change the Sneasel's mind after Zangoose's death. The dark-type came running over, and took the Zigzagoon with him as they left.... Though, they left the unconscious Yungoos behind. Ri exhaled deeply, thankful that they were gone.... Sai appeared to be helping out Arashi... That was good. The redhead thought this was.... Enough excitement for one day. For one week, actually. Possibly a month. She figured it was time to head back... Sadly, she was unable to carry both Yuki and Arashi at this point. Not only was it awkward, but also they were.... Getting sorta heavy. Hopefully Arashi, with aid from Sai, would be able to make it back to Omega's camp with her.

"Come on. It's time to go." She said softly, beginning to move back towards Omega's Camp, as soon as Venom rejoined the group as well.

Ri lead the walk back, with Arashi following immediately behind, Sai walking right next to her. The Psyduck was prepared to help the electric-type if she faltered, which... Happened a few times. Venom was in the back, sulkily slithering along.

Yuki was in her basket as always.... Just a little tense and not really even thinking of pretending to nap.

Sai (Psyduck): 70%, Helping Arashi walk

Arashi (Blitzle): 28%, +1 Defense, I-I'm okay..... (Not really)
