Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

Vexel Xavier Mitore
15 - Male - Bisexual
Appearance
At first glance, Vexel isn't really anything terribly special to look at. Standing at about 5'7" he's got the athletic build of someone who spends more time moving than sitting around. He looks to be a bit younger than he actually is and to describe him one would likely say he's average. He doesn't have all the natural good looks that some people are blessed with but he is by no means unattractive. He has a sort of thin face with a slightly longer than average nose and a smile that is bright and almost childlike while also being quite charming. His smile and relative good looks can turn many a girl's head, and even those of a few daring men, though he isn't particularly interested in pursuing such notions as romance at present. For clothing he prefers practical attire that will provide protection from the elements while also not being a danger while traveling or fighting. A loose pant leg or shirt could get caught on branches while something more close fitting would not.

Vex's hair is the color of honey with hints of red and he tends to keep it cut short, though his bangs are always kept just long enough to fall over his eyes from time to time. His eyes are hazel in color though appear mostly brown with flecks of blue and green, though there is more blue in them than green. His eyes are very expressive, especially considering their tendency to change color depending on his mood (or at least they appear to). When he's feeling particularly angry at someone, his eyes take on a more greenish hue, flashing dangerously and loosing any hint of the mischievous spark or happy glint that they usually carry. When he's exceptionally happy they have more of a bluish hue to them and sparkle more than usual. This 'color changing' however, is merely a trick of the light, though he uses it to great advantage when he wants to.

As an adventurous young man, Vex amassed a collection of the typical scars and injuries that many adventurous young men collect over the course of their childhood. Skinned knees, cuts and scrapes, bruises and a rather memorable concussion were common for the young boy. Some of his more 'memorable' scars, as he calls them, are from when he was a bit older. He has a jagged scar running from his knee to just above his hip on his right leg from falling while climbing trees outside the village. His left hand also bears a thin scar across the back and over his thumb from when his hand slipped while he was learning how to use the bone knife his father had given him when he turned thirteen. He carries this knife with him everywhere...just in case.

Personality
Vex is quite charming, funny and an incredibly loyal friend with a ready smile and a quick tongue. He loves a good story and is always eager to listen to, or share, stories of all varieties. He's particularly fond of the legends and myths surrounding dragons and would love to meet someone who has met one of the elusive creatures to ask them questions about their encounter. Though he won't openly admit to it, he's hoping to learn everything he can so that he might one day be able to trap and tame a dragon. He's well aware that it is considered unwise to interact with dragons and that attempting to tame or bind one to a pokeball is the biggest taboo...but why? That's the one question he wants to answer. What makes dragons so special? Since no one seems to have an answer for him aside from 'they just are' he intends to find out for himself.

He is also strong-willed, outspoken and known to hold grudges for quite some time. He is resourceful, determined and endlessly creative when it comes to thinking up ways to get revenge without actually getting himself into too much trouble. Luckily, he is not easily angered except when it comes to defending those he cares about. Someone can berate and belittle him all they like and he'll take it (he won't like it and you can bet he'll remember how you treated him), but go after someone he loves and he won't hesitate to defend them. It is not wise to get on his nerves, considering he has no issue with harming anyone who has hurt his loved ones. His capacity to hold a grudge, however, surpasses his desire to exact immediate vengeance upon those who cross him. His temper may flare and he may yell or throw a punch in a fit of rage, but most times he will wait and dwell on his revenge for some time before striking. With friends, though, it is a different story. He would not harm a friend the way he would a stranger or an enemy if they manage to rile him to the point of anger. They may, however, suffer stony silence or biting insults but, unless said friend has deliberately done something to betray him or harmed the trust he put in them, they will be forgiven....eventually.

His judgment isn't always perfect and he occasionally rushes headlong into situations most others might either avoid entirely or at least think about before jumping into. Unless it involves demons. Like all Terrenians, Vex has heard the stories of how the dark-type demons are vicious and spread auras of despair and sadness around them. He hasn't yet encountered many demons (something he is immensely grateful for) but he's managed to come away mostly unscathed each time, giving him a small measure of confidence that he can escape a demon's clutches if he had to. His fears aside, he has a deep love for people and pokemon alike and loves doing anything he can that lets him interact with both equally. He has an equally deep love for sweets and it's not uncommon for him to be carrying around some sweet treat his mother has made.

Vex is a naturally a bit bossy but never so much that he annoys too many people by ordering them about. It's more that, when he knows something needs to be done and he sees that no one is doing it, he has no problems saying so. He loves sweets and is also kind, compassionate and caring when he needs to be, though he tends to not show this softer side very often in front of people he doesn't know well. He'd rather they see him as tough and capable of taking care of himself. His biggest desire, however, is to one day meet a dragon and tame it. His father has often told him that he once had a tame dragon. It was before he came to Terrene, and he didn't remember everything, but he recalled a great beast with orange scales that breathed flames. But it wasn't a wild creature. It was tame, a friend, like the pokemon that worked and lived alongside the humans of Terrene. Vex wants to know if it's possible to meet and tame one of the great beasts. He doesn't know if it was ever done before but he intends to find out and, perhaps, be the first to prove that dragons are just like any other pokemon.
History
Vexel's story begins before he was ever born. His father was brought through at the age of sixteen and he traveled for some time, learning to hunt and forage to survive, until he arrived in Forest Beach, injured and tired from a battle that had not gone in his favor during his trek through the forest. There he was welcomed by a pretty young woman around his same age who offered him a warm meal, first aid for himself and his pokemon and a place to rest until he was well enough to travel again. But the more time he spent with this woman, the more he felt his desire to wander fade. Before he knew it, his urge to travel had been replaced by a desire to settle down and make a home for himself and, he hoped, the girl he had grown to love. After a lengthy courtship, the pair were wed and settled into a house near the center of the village. They were quite happy, just the two of them and their pokemon, but they both longed for more. So they added on to their home and began welcoming travelers and new arrivals to stay with them. Vex's father made a living helping to build and craft various items for other families in the village while his mother worked at the local pokemon center, helping both humans and pokmeon in need. But still their lives didn't quite feel complete. They wanted a family and, after years of trying they were blessed with a son.

Vex's childhood was as average as could be in a place like Forest Beach. He grew up watching the comings and goings of what few travelers they got, listening to their tales with the wide eyed excitement of youth. His favorite stories were the ones his father told him, of course. His father told him of a great orange beast that breathed flame and called it a 'dragon'. This beast, this 'dragon', had been friendly toward his father. Though the memories were vague, he knew the dragon had been a companion of his. Vexel was always cautioned to never repeat the tales his father told for the more superstitious villagers frowned on hearing such nonsense and claimed it to be only a dream. But Vexel believed and he relished the times his father would tell him a new story about his adventures with the orange dragon. It wasn't until he was older that he learned his father had made up most of the stories. He maintained that he had, in fact, befriended the orange dragon prior to showing up on Terrene but that was all he could remember about it. Vex, though a little disappointed, still cherished the stories his father had told him as a boy. And he would never forget the way people would look at him or his father any time they mentioned dragons. He would never forget, and he vowed to show them that they were wrong. He would find, and tame, a dragon and prove that his father's stories were true.

Of course, an eight year old child had no chance of finding a dragon, let alone taming one, without being eaten alive by the wild creatures that roamed the forest. So he resolved to learn how to survive and to learn everything he could about dragons. He started following his father on hunting trips into the forest, creeping along as quietly as he could manage and studying how his father did things. He tried, and failed, to create his own bow and arrows. So he started using sticks to practice fighting off imaginary pokemon. This he succeeded at, to a degree considering he was still just a young boy and his 'practice' was little more than a game at the time. Though he was mostly just playing around, his father saw some potential and, once he was a couple years older, started teaching him how to handle and use real knives to defend himself. And, when Vex turned 13, he was gifted with his own bone knife. It was hand carved by his father, the bone taken from a sawbuck they had hunted together, and Vex knew he was one step closer to being able to start chasing his goal of finding a dragon.

But he still had more to learn and, his biggest obstacle, he had not yet met a pokemon that he felt any sort of connection with. Armed with his own weapon, however, he was now allowed to travel further from the village on his own where he might meet a pokemon that connected with him. He often went on solo hunting trips, though his skills with a bow were still not very good and he rarely had a successful hunt. But, as far as he saw it, every failed hunt was still a learning experience because he got better every time he went out. But he had still not met a pokemon companion. He would, one day, he just wished it would come soon.
