Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

As Terrene leaves behind
the long, dark nights, their minds turn to friendship and romance at the second annual speed dating! And don't miss out on the clover hunt or the poetry season. Our plot event, alpha & omega, is drawing closer to its end, but is still going strong for now.

Season

Spring will be here until
June. The rainy season begins in the tropical areas; the rest of Terrene begins to thaw and warm, shaking the chill of winter and creeping toward the heat of summer. Fairy and grass types relish in the season of rebirth and renewal!

Genesis the girafarig

Genesis was born among a herd of other girafarig on the Lion's Plains. The herd was small, and they were constantly in danger from predators. They stayed far away from humans and Crater City as the group of intelligent pokemon knew that humans might hunt them for food or capture them. They were strong fighters though, and Genesis was taught all the basics she needed to know to defend herself.

She was always a bit of an oddball though. She was very curious about other pokemon and especially humans. She was a frustrating calf, and she never seemed to be satisfied to simply take her parent's word for anything. She needed to see everything for herself, experience everything herself before she believed a thing to be true. Genesis didn't socialize properly or make friends or even show any real interest or attachment to other girafarig, which worried her parents. She was only beginning to grow more independent and out of her calf stage when her herd was attacked by a pack of mightyena and poochyena. The mightyena took down her grandfather first because he was old and injured from an earlier fight. A few of the young pups managed to separate Genesis from the rest of her herd. Too tired to run further, Genesis eventually turned and battled the pups, giving each of them a taste of her vicious double kicks. This frightened the pups enough to make them flee, but Genesis was now alone in the world.

Due to her difficulty forming attachments, Genesis actually found this new isolation more liberating than frightening. She was always more curious than afraid, so she was now free to spend all of her time exploring the plains and investigate everything she found interesting. Top in her list of interesting creatures were humans. Going near humans was entirely forbidden by her herd, but now she could spy on humans as much as her heart desired. In Ready or Not, Genesis met an unusually small human who seemed just as curious about her as she was of him. At last, a kindred spririt! It didn't matter much to her that he didn't share her species. No, that's not correct. It made all the difference in the world. It made it ten times better! She followed the boy to his home in the human settlement, and she even let him capture her. Genesis now continues her research with her human companion, Soren at her side.

In I Got You Genesis gets her first taste of being a tamed pokemon and living among humans. She gets her own stall in a relatively comfortable barn and lots of attention from her adoring trainer, but she's still wary. It seems a little too good to be true. In Brighter than the Sun Genesis accompanies Soren to a mareep farm where she mostly watches him do all of the work. She assists a bit later by getting the mareep to help Soren get the work done and also by protecting him and some lambs from a hungry poochyena. She picks Nimbus from the pair of lambs available for Soren to take home.

Genesis gets her first taste of hard labor in Try Everything, and she hates it. She and Soren have to haul a cart full of produce around the city to deliver it to some upper class residents, which is how they meet Ambassador Avery Aster.

Cumulonimbus (Nimbus) the mareep

Nimbus is first met in Brighter than the Sun as one of two remaining mareep lambs for sale on the farm of Luke Sheppard. There were originally three, and Nimbus is the most timid and shy of the bunch. He's not much of a leader, and he always preferred to follow after his more adventurous peers. He also doesn't have much confidence in himself, often not believing that he can help and that he'll probably just be in the way. Surprisingly, it was these traits that lead Genesis to pick him out, figuring that he would be easier to train than a more independent pokemon.

The Story So Far
Spring 2018

Soren had only recently turned thirteen and received his brand as all worker children do once they are deemed old enough. As a kind of coming-of-age present, Soren's father gives him a pokeball and the afternoon off, instructing his son to go and capture a pokemon. The man intended for Soren to capture one of the pest pokemon on the farm or a stray from within the city. Instead, the boy ventured out onto the Lion's Plains. There, he encountered a girafarig, a yanma, and a geodude. In a fit of bravery (or cowardice depending on your point of view), Soren interceded in a conflict within the pokemon. This caught the particular interest of the girafarig. This girafarig followed him home and allowed him to capture her and name her Genesis (Ready or Not).

Soren spent all of that night trying to help Genesis feel at home and comfortable. He even slept beside her in her barn stall so she wouldn't feel lonely (I Got You). A couple days later, he and Genesis went out to Luke Sheppard's mareep farm in order to work so that he could earn a discount in purchasing a lamb (Brighter than the Sun). Soren worked hard, and Luke taught him a lot about mareep and how to take care of them. At the end of the day, Soren let Genesis pick one of the lambs to become their new friend. She picked a gentle lamb that Soren named Cumulonimbus.

Shortly after this, Soren had an opportunity to try a different job when the delivery boy took an unexpected injury. Soren and his father hitched Genesis to a cart, and he and Genesis pulled it through Crater City's streets delivering produce from the farm to the citizens in the upper echelon's of Beta's hierarchy. It was on this day that they met Ambassador Avery Aster who taught Soren a few things about Genesis and promised to teach him more if he came back. (Try Everything)
