Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

Ri had waited long enough. She was getting antsy and anxious. She needed to leave these damned mountains now, and head for Oasis Village. She wasn't entirely sure how urgent it could possibly be, but it felt damn urgent in her own mind and she felt desperate to head over there right now to go and find Blue and make sure she was alright. Then, if she was, immediately work on convincing Blue to leave with her to somewhere.... Else. She didn't think anywhere in Terrene could be called definitively safe, but Ri thought that Oasis had an extra amount of danger that Blue shouldn't stay in. Her brain had been stuck on this train of thought since that speed dating event near Ashfield, and now she was starting on the path that would hopefully end with Blue in a position where Ri could help and protect her. Blue spiked Ri's protective tendencies with a vengeance, and spurred her on this path.

She took a deep breath. She'd already packed up her tent, and everything she needed otherwise was crammed into her jacket pockets. Said everything else was mostly just a map and compass, which would hopefully help Ri not get hopelessly lost and actually get to Oasis. It worked all the way here, so Ri was sure she'd possibly only get slightly lost instead of hopelessly lost on the way. Anyways, here she was standing on the edge of Omega's Camp, prepared to leave. She looked over her shoulder to take role call in her head. Venom, Sai, Arashi, and Andy were all here. Yuki was in her basket, which Ri was presently carrying. Ri turned her eyes to path ahead and took a deep breath, closing her eyes briefly.

"Okay. Okay." She murmured softly to herself. This was it. She was pretty anxious, both about the journey and the destination. She was worried about if Blue would be hurt when she got there, or if Blue was possibly dead. Admittedly, it was probably mildly irrational, but the anxiety was there and palpable and it slithered like a snake around her heart. She was similarly concerned about the journey there, since while she was exploding with anxiety over Blue, why not start fretting about the safety of your pokemon as well? Admittedly, she was always mildly worried but this was a little much. She forced herself to take another deep breath. Okay. She'd never seen one of her pokemon die... And she silently promised herself that she never would... Throwing herself on a spear would be preferable to such an experience.

Doing her best to soothe and suppress her anxieties... She began walking. No journey ever began with taking those steps.

Though the woman had prepared and was ready to leave, wanting to get to her destination quickly, she'd find that a second thought towards leaving at this moment would be likely to pass. Dark clouds swirled in the sky above, moving and shifting slowly as they did but covering the world in a muted darkness, the light from the sun still keeping the world from total darkness but covered by the thick clouds. She'd only get a few steps in when a few droplets would start to fall, pricking at her skin if the landed and certainly hitting her pokemon. None of it was a great sign.

In a matter of minutes, before she could so much as get out of sight of the camp if she did choose to press forward, the rain would have picked up - and it was relentless. While they were lucky in that there was no thunder of lightning raging above them, threatening certain doom, the heavy rain would certainly make their traveling quite uncomfortable. If Ri chose to move forward, she'd find her clothes soaked and heavy in a matter of a minute or two. The ground beneath their bodies would quickly become lightly pooled with water and slick, as the layer of mud didn't create much of a stable base for walking. It would certainly be difficult to climb any hills, but staying near the ground wouldn't be much easier itself.

Once Ri noticed the dark clouds swirling up ahead, she groaned. Fuck. She shook her head. She stopped, even though she'd only just begun. She looked over at the sky, and squinted her eyes slightly. The rolling blanket of rainclouds was dense, the normally white puffy clouds having curled up into a stony, fierce gray. This was not going to be a light storm, it was going to be a tough as it looked, probably. That was Ri's guess, anyway. But... She should probably hold off on heading out, but again... She was getting that itch to just travel. For... Well... Multiple reasons. The main one being Blue. She was seriously starting to get nervous and anxious all the time, wondering if Blue was alright. The other reason was that she was bored of the mountains now, and she wanted to leave. She admittedly liked traveling, when she actually got two seconds to just take in her surroundings.

So, she briefly shut her eyes and let the droplets fall on her face. She sighed. Then she opened her eyes. She looked back at the pokemon in her company who were starting to get wet. She bit her lip. They were getting more drenched by the second, and she could feel the rain wasn't going to stay this light. She didn't want to stick around and wait for the rain to subside, but she also didn't want Arashi to slip and fall, or for them to be struggling to keep up in the rain... Or lose them potentially, since seeing things in the rain was difficult. This was not going to be fun. Thankfully, she'd gotten a good look at the map before the rain started, since she had to cram it back into her pocket to keep it from getting wet. Thankfully her jacket was thick enough that stuff inside her pockets stayed relatively undamaged.

"Sorry." She muttered, as she recalled Arashi, Yuki, Sai, and Venom inside their pokeballs. Then she looked to Andy, who did not seem to having a great time in the rain. He didn't have a pokeball, and she... Wasn't sure about this. She bent down, and offered the only empty pokeball she had. It was a weird looking one. She didn't throw it at him, but she offered him an escape from the rain... That coincidentally would trap him. Thus, her giving him a choice. He stared at her for a moment before turning his beak up. She sighed, and offered a soft smile, as she pocketed the pokeball. "That's okay." She bit her lip, trying to think of what to do. Then she had an idea. She grabbed Yuki's basket, and offered that to Andy. There was a little less hesitance this time, and the bird hopped inside. He seemed to be curiously poking at the basket with his talons. Ri really hoped he didn't wreck it, since she wanted to keep using this for Yuki as long as possible.

Ri sighed. At least she had a good memory... She still could more or less see most of the image of the map in her mind's eyes. The rain was really coming down now... And she couldn't see as well, and she could feel the unstable muddy ground beneath her shoes. Which were probably super gross now. Great. She sighed. "Onwards, I guess." She muttered to herself, hunching over the basket as she moved onward. She was... Doing some part to help shield Andy from the rain, but honestly this was a shit situation. Could be shittier, but not exactly peaches and roses.

It was best that her pokemon have a break from walking - the woman would like make better progress through the rain storm than if she'd kept them out to walk as well. The water pooled and streamed away as it continued to pour, for literally hours as she was heading off. There was a silver lining to the storm, however - Ri would find that the rain was keeping pokemon hidden away. As she traveled through the rain, the woman wouldn't run into any pokemon out and about, and would be free otherwise to continue.

As morning shifted into afternoon, so did the storm shift into more. The sky started to grumble, hinting at more dangers of a storm to come. With the hills climbing up around her and creating low places to walk between them, there were many ways to avoid a chance of getting struck. However the valleys between them were starting to thicken with the water, pooling up to about halfway up her shoe that she could slush through. Soon enough, there would be roaring and flashing through the sky as lightning barreled off in the distance, the boom of the thunder resonating through the air.

She could certainly choose to try and find somewhere to hide out as the storm continued. In the hills, there were a few hollows and small earthen caves where she could find shelter. However, as many pokemon had also been finding shelter from the weather, that would come with its own dangers. Still, pushing through the rain would come with its own rick of illness, but if she was determined she could certainly push through.

As afternoon shifted into evening, the storm would finally start to let up. Though the grey clouds were still thick in the sky, the rain was beginning to let up, and any traces of the grumbling has dissipated. All that was left was a gentle drizzle, which at some points would stop for brief windows of time. She'd finally have the opportunity to walk a bit without getting wet, and for the time being wasn't being bothered by any wild creatures either.

Ri was glad that she'd withdrawn what she could of her pokemon. The rain continued on, pouring on and on. It showed no signs of stopping, and Ri did her best to keep her head up, fighting the urge to tip her head down and stare at the ground instead of ahead. She didn't want to do the equivalent of sticking her head in the sand in the middle of a rainstorm while she was traveling. The rain was heavy, and it was flooding the ground. She could hear the collection of water on the ground as she walked, her sneakers causing the water to splash with every step she took. At least, she didn't encounter any wild pokemon that would slow her progress. Or kill her she guessed. That didn't seem to matter as much.... Though.... She glanced at the basket she was covering with her upper body, at the bird that seemed to be getting soggy anyway. She... Well... She'd rather Andy didn't get hurt either. The bird was trying to press himself into the bottom of the basket apparently, the rain having gotten into the basket regardless. Thankfully, the basket wasn't completely watertight, and it wasn't about to drown the Pidgey in the basket. That was good.

The rainstorm made it hard to tell the time as Ri walked, as the rainclouds obscured the sky and any means of discerning how much time had passed, beyond guessing at how much time had passed based on experience. She figured it'd been several hours, and the sky was apparently rather cranky today. She groaned to herself. Shit. It was lightly growling, probably meaning the weather was going up in the shittiness scale. Still... She wasn't going to let that stop her, as her pace didn't really slow. She didn't try to ascend the hills, as she wasn't fond of the idea of making herself an easier target to get struck if the rainstorm truly did become a true storm of thunder and lightning.... But at the same time, the ground was flooded and she could feel the water was permeating through her sneakers and getting her socks and feet wet, thanks to the sheer volume of it. She sighed. "I'm fine, this is fine." She murmured to herself, marching harder, steeling her resolve to keep going despite the storm. She held the basket tighter, and then soon enough... Thunder snarled down from the fierce, intense clouds above, flashing claws of lightning threateningly at the hills below. Andy seemed to be startling at the roaring thunder, and she wasn't really fond of letting Andy flap about distressed. "Shh.... It's okay... It's just thunder and lightning... The sky's hissy fit. We'll be fine. Thunder is just a bunch of hot air and temper tantrums, it can't hurt you. The chance of getting struck by lightning is.... Very low from what I remember.... Thankfully.... It's like.... Less than 1%... That's pretty low, isn't it?" She began to say, speaking softly. She didn't know why she knew this, but the information seemed to come to her easily. "And we're not raising our chances, so we're safe. We'll be fine." She was honestly trying to be soothing, and she had no idea if it was working. She hoped so. "The rain won't last forever.... The thunder will rage and rage, but it'll fade out too. The lightning might like to show off, but it'll get tired and go away as well... This is all temporary.... Nothing is eternal...." She continued murmuring. She continued trying to soothe Andy like that, and she wasn't sure how much it was working, but he was mostly just shivering at the bottom of the basket now. Better than flapping and freaking out every time thunder boomed.... Right? She was pretty sure, anyways.

Several more hours passed, and finally... Finally.... Ri could prove she wasn't totally full of bullshit and lies. The storm did eventually begin to subside. The stormclouds remained menacingly in the sky, but the rain softened into the lightest of drizzle, sometimes shifting into mist before back again. She yawned, and straightened out her back, from being hunched over the basket the whole trip. "Arceus, fuck...." She grumbled. She kept her feet going though. She'd just walked through a fucking storm of rain, lightning, and thunder. She wasn't going to stop now. She had to keep going.... Especially since it seemed all peaceful and shit.

The sky above continued to remain grey and dreary, the drizzle coming on and off as she walked. Nothing could compared to the heavy rain that had plagued her throughout the day, however. Even so, she could tell in the shadows of the cloud that the sun was beginning to set. What was simply blocked light was starting to shift into actual lack of light, and there were a couple partings in the clouds up ahead that allowed her a quick view. Additionally, as she was getting closer to the end of the mountains, she'd be able to tell in the horizon that the clouds would thin out.

Before it would get too dark to see, however, there would be something else she'd find in her path. The water was still built up in the crevices between the hills. In the water up ahead, she'd see a red and white rock. It was strange though, as it had many holes and looked almost hollow. The white circled the holes, the main body of the rock being white. Then, a yellow blob poked out, turning. It almost looked like an amorphous head, and as it looked around, she'd notice it had eyes.

The blob returned to the rock for a moment again. Then, the head popped out of a different hole, and little bland legs pushed out of other holes on the bottom, into the water. It pushed up and tried to move, but it was clear the pokemon was struggling. It tried to get on the hill, pulling the rest of its shell out of the water as it pulled itself up the hill. Its limbs didn't allow for much traction, and Ri would be able to see the water pouring out of the holes as it left the water. The weight and disturbance from the trapped water was too much however and caused the pokemon to lose its balance. The yellow quickly receded into the rock and it rolled back and plopped in the water once more. The pokemon repeated the same process, trying to get up the hill to escape the water and failing once more.

The rain still didn't completely dissipate, but the drizzle came and went.... Which was better than the heavy rain from earlier. She was still soaked though, as she probably wouldn't be able to dry off when it was still at least sort of raining.... That and the flooded ground that still seeped through her shoes. She knew that Desert Strip was supposed to be hotter and drier, so hopefully she'd dry off there. She yawned. She wasn't going to stop to sleep though. Aside from Andy, the pokemon she called friends were all inside pokeballs, so she didn't need to stop for them. Andy was inside a basket, so he could sleep if he wanted. Looking down in there, she actually did see him settling in, probably because it was the evening and the sun was setting. The clouds had shifted enough that she could sort of figure out that it was sunset.

Anyway, Ri kept walking. She didn't think she'd be able to sleep anyway if she stopped. Even putting aside her normal chronic nightmares.... Though, come to think of it... Since leaving Ashfield, her nightmares weren't quite every night. Sometimes she was able to have a dreamless nap. Though, it still wasn't a very common occurrence. Her regular experience was still a distinctly restless night of nightmares. Besides, she... Felt like she had to keep walking. If she stopped, then she was just screwing around instead of getting closer to Oasis and Blue. So... She kept walking.

But then up ahead she saw a red and white rock. She kept walking for a bit, before she stopped a moderate distance away from it. She squinted at it, flinching when a head popped out of one of the holes in the rock... Okay, so it was a weird pokemon with a shell. It had legs that popped out of more holes, she figured it was trying to climb the hill, but wasn't really that at it. It seemed to be trying to climb before slipping again. Ri sighed, and she kept walking. The pokemon was in her path, so she did her past to just walk past it, ignoring its relentless goal of climbing the hill.... That it probably wouldn't succeed in. Right now, it was probably going to be easy pickings for whatever bird comes along next. Not her problem.

She really hoped it wouldn't decide to try and attack her as she tried to pass by it.

As Ri continued around the shuckle, she'd find that it didn't even seem to notice her. The pokemon continued its loop of trying to get free from the water. But, each time the water pouring out of its shell would set it off balance, causing the shell to tumble back into the water with the bug still inside. Since it did not attack nor try to beckon to the human, she was left free to continue on her way, the pokemon in need left to fend for itself. She would find that there weren't any other creatures around at the moment to bother her, and was safe to continue on.

As she pushed on in the dark, this luck would continue. There would be no pokemon stirring in the night as the hills started to get smaller and smaller. Though she'd hardly be able to see the changes given the low light, the shadows were admittedly getting a bit lighter. With the dense clouds covering up the moonlight, she wouldn't be given much in the way of vision. A few more hours passed however, and she'd certainly feel the changes as the terrain started to soften. And, eventually, her foot would press into the earth, the cool sands parting softly as her foot pressed into the grainy substance, completely different from anything she'd likely walked on aside from perhaps a beach.
