Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

((Spawn Rockruff please!))

Flash sometimes had days where he wasn't working. Today was a day where Flash didn't have any obligations to fulfill. Once more, his siblings were all off either working as well, or had their own plans separate from Flash. This time, even his cousins were busy. Minnow and Ash were both busy, Minnow was working with Icy and Ash was helping run her family's store. So, this time... Flash decided to take a little walk in the forest. Not too far, since Flash didn't want to go too deep in the forest. At the same time, Flash thought the forest was... Nice when nothing was happening like, aggressive pokemon mauling him or having monkeys appear out of nowhere to harass him. He imagined that Heather wasn't fond of monkeys either. Speaking of Heather....

His family had been rather happy to hear that he'd, no matter how unintentionally, obtained a pokemon partner of his own. Adder had found it a little strange that Flash, the oldest of his siblings, had been the last to get a pokemon. Especially considering how he considered himself their protector. Nevertheless, now he had Heather. Minnow thought Heather was really weird, but expressed approval. Shockingly, Minnow did not sass Heather. Thank heavens for small mercies. He named him Heather for the color of his feathers. He thought it was an appropriate name. He was unaware if pokemon had their own real names, but since he was unable to ask, he figured it was acceptable to grant a nickname. With slight hesitance, Heather had accepted to be bound to a pokeball one night, and now... He supposed their partnership was a great deal more solid.

Though, honestly Flash hoped that Heather would benefit from the partnership as Flash was sure he would. He'd lived his life without a pokemon, and he didn't exactly jump at the idea of having an irate pokemon that didn't like him for a partner. His family already thought that he'd somehow lose an eyeball by stepping one foot inside the forest. Thankfully, they never stopped him... But it was annoying when that was what everyone thought.

Flash took a deep breath, as he walked along, gazing around at his surroundings. Still... This was nice. He enjoyed nature walks, and the smells of the Spring forest. Suddenly he heard chirping beside him from Heather. Suddenly a beak latched onto his wrist. "Heather!" He protested out loud. Heather wasn't being rough, but he seemed to be trying to lead Flash somewhere. Flash sighed, and let himself be lead away. It was sort of awkward, but since Flash was letting himself be lead.... It could've been worse.

What did Heather want?

A little further off the path was a stream, thin but holding a few smaller water pokemon. It wasn't quite close enough for the duo to see immediately, but the bird and his keen senses would likely be able to hear the trickling to know it was somewhere closeby. But more prevalent than that was some noise happening between where they were and the water, in the direction they were going. To Flash it was nothing more than some incomprehensible squeaks. But as they got closer, Heather would be able to hear something more.

"Maybe there are some more! Then we don't have to split - b-b-but maybe y-you should go check." The little light-brown shrew looked towards the water, a shiver going down her spine. No matter how shallow the water, the ground-type didn't have good experiences with it - or the pokemon that inhabited it. She was relying on this other rodent to do the fishing here, as he would have a much easier time about it. And it anything fought back, he would have the advantage in a skirmish.

The yellow mouse-like pokemon rolled his eyes. He turned his head, ears with red markings turning as he did so, to look towards the stream. When he'd pulled out this first pokemon, he hadn't seen any others. But, perhaps some dumb fish or something had come back. It was worth a thought, but what if the sandshrew ran off with his grab? "Oh hush. Let's just split this in half, and then we can go back for more after." The plusle spoke with more authority than he really had in this situation, but he wasn't about to risk not getting any of the pokemon that he'd put most of the effort towards finding.

"I mean I think your friend has a--" The little tadpole was cut off as the plusle pounced on her, squishing the breathe out of her. "Who said you could speak? You're not either of our preferred foods anyway. Maybe we should just finish you and go find something better, eh??" It was true that the mouse's diet wasn't exactly fish, or any kind of meat, but they were meeting in the middle here. The shrew wanted bugs, and there was no way he was going to eat a bug.

Then the human and bird came into sight, drawing the attention of all of them. "ABORT! RUN! EVERY CREATURE FOR THEMSELF! The plusle immediately leapt to his feet and dashed off, to the left along the river. The sandshrew squeaked in alarm as well, running a few feet away. Her claws started digging furiously at the ground, hoping to get under it and safe from the bird's long beaks. Meanwhile, the tympole was... flopping on the ground. "OH Come on! Don't just leave me here - I can't exactly run away!! Though she shouted out, neither of the rodents made a move to return.

When Heather finally let go of his wrist, Flash could see a stream, and trio of pokemon. A squeaking shrew, a bossy-looking mouse, and a tadpole, that was strangely not in the water. Heather's eyes seemed to be trained on the trio, though he wasn't moving yet. Flash didn't move yet, as he seemed to figure that Heather possibly was interested in a hunt... Though, Flash's expertise was fishing... Not hunting. That, and Flash didn't have his fishing rod on him. He knew better than to try and fish with his bare hands, that was a fine way to get injured by the fish that had quite a bit of a fight in them.

Heather, indeed, was looking for a hunt. He'd dragged the blond, scarred human to this area, following the sound of the stream's flow. He was able to pick up the noise coming from the rodents and tadpole on the ground near the water. They were close enough that Heather could hear the conversation, and it mostly sounded like the shrew was cowardly, the mouse authoritative, and the tadpole was a doormat. They appeared to be talking about food, and the mouse was talking big. Heather fought the urge to scoff. If the mouse was planning to eat the tadpole, why was he fooling around? Heather didn't believe in playing with his food. It was disrespectful and irrational. Though, sadly... Heather, the human, or both hadn't been stealthy enough. They'd come too close and scared the group.

The mouse was clearly a coward at heart, and without anything resembling respect. The mouse ran away, following the river. The shrew's escape plan was less.... Well-thought out. She was trying to dig herself into a hole, though Heather believed he'd still be able to drag the shrew out if he wanted to. However, there was still a helpless tadpole flopping around on the ground. Heather was not one to pass up food, even if she did respect a proper and good hunt that got the blood flowing. A hunter, however, should not squander food for the sake of pride. Hunting took energy, and the hunt was always on. Thus, time and energy could not be wasted.

Heather briefly glanced to the human, and believed that he would not require the assistance of him, as such.... He surged forward quickly, using his strong legs to stride forward. While his wings were small, insignificant, and useless... His legs were strong and gave him a swift running speed he could easily take advantage of to hunt. As soon as he came within reach, he immediately jabbed out one of his beaks to strike the tadpole.

The beak bopped down, pushing into the tympole's small body. While the shapr beak certainly dealt its damage, the fish was squished out from the attack, gaining a tiny bit of ground towards the water. If she could just get to the water, she could escape. The tadpole's body continued flopping fiercely as it tried to move, but it wasn't working very well. She needed to try something else. She gathered up her energy and shot off a bubble attack at the bird, using the attack to try and get closer to the water. It was partially successful.

Meanwhile, the sandshrew successfully burrowed in the hole and kept going, getting away from the ground and the potential danger. The shrew was resolved to find food another way, even if it meant delaying eating even longer. The mouse, however, didn't have quite the same luck. It wasn't long before the pokemon had run into the brush away from the doduo that he was running back, his renewed squeaking signaling his panic as he hurried back towards the scene with the doduo. There was a thump and rustling of the grasses just before the plusle leaped out, landing and rolling a bit back where he'd been previously.

Now in the sight of the double-headed bird, the electric-type quick got back on his feet and started off the other direction, hoping to get away from whatever was chasing it. It seemed whatever creature was waiting in the brush was being a bit more hesitant, keeping hidden as the mouse tried to regain himself. He sparked with electricity in warning to the doduo. While he wasn't confident that he could win a fight between them, he knew that birds hated lightning - so he would shock Heather if he got close to the plusle. It seemed he was no longer interested in the tympole, however.

The tadpole's squishy body managed to gain a tiny bit of leverage from Heather's attack, causing it to move ever so slightly towards the water. Heather was well aware that this easy kill would become less easy if the tadpole was placed back where it could maneuver easily... Hence, why it was in Heather's best interest to kill off the Tympole here on land instead of trying to do so in the water. The tadpole squirmed, but Heather could see how ineffective it was. Unexpectedly, a stream of bubbles were fired at Heather, and they popped upon contact with the face of one of Heather's heads, stinging as they burst. With that head, let out a cry of pain. The bubbles looked harmless enough before contact, but they stung rather badly.

Heather shook out one of his heads, while the other glared down at the Tympole. Heather paid no mind to the other two, seemingly have all his attention upon the tadpole as opposed to the other mouse pokemon present. Heather adjusted his position, circling around the Tympole. Then he tried jabbing his beak at the Tympole again, hopefully so he'd be pushed back away from the water, as opposed to helping the tadpole escape. Heather was not fond of the idea of helping his prey escape. He found this to be a smarter option.

As Flash was watching this, he deduced that.... The admittedly pathetic attempts of the tadpole were likely not that much of a threat to Heather, and Flash could afford to pay less attention. Though, if it appeared that Heather was going to start struggling... Flash would not hesitate to call Heather back. Though... He wasn't sure if his words would convince the bird to retreat, as new and untested their relationship was. He could always use the pokeball. That was an ample alternative, at least until he was able to prove that his decisions were wise enough to follow.

At least, Heather's only opponent was rather.... Wimpy. The shrew had already dug its way out of sight, and was no longer in the picture. The other mouse had started to run away, and displayed electrical power. Though.... It appeared to be keeping its distance, and Flash assumed Heather would be safe, as the bird was concerned with the tadpole alone. He'd heard from Frost that birds were vulnerable to electric attacks.... He'd have to watch out for Heather then.

As the doduo attacked once again, the tympole did everything she could to try and avoid the attack. Just as she was doing everything she could to get to the water. But in both regards the pokemon was unsuccessful. The beak crashed into her body once more, gashing into her skin. She was very frightened by this situation but wasn't about to give up just yet. Though, in her desperate attempts to get the bird to stop hurting her, she screeched out. The supersonic waves of sound dashed towards Heather, attempting to inflict confusion on him. Maybe then he wouldn't be able to focus enough to attack, and she could get to the water and be free!

The plusle, now confident that the tympole would not become a snack for him, was inching away. He didn't want to sprint and pull attention to himself, and it looked like the fish was keeping the attention of the doduo well enough. He didn't want to do anything rash and pull further attention to himself, especially with the beast in the brush nearby. If he played it cool, maybe they'd forget he was here, and he could slowly get out of sight. Then he could dash away and find a good hiding spot to wait out the predators. No sir he did not want to be eaten today. Not on the agenda.

The bush rustled as the hidden creature worked to wiggle their way out, and soon enough a small brown fur dog came stumbling out. He leaped up and looked around, taking in the situation. Despite the mouse's fear of this creature, he seemed rather harmless in comparison. His tongue slipped out of his mouth as he panted, finding what he wanted to do next. Being so young, he didn't exactly have a very solid plan of action or any direction. As such, the naive rockruff was simply taking each step as he went, alone but ready to face the world in his own eyes. He noticed the big bird and the little fish first, and thought they were playing.

And he definitely wanted to play! He hurried over and leaped on the tympole, rolling with her and kicking his legs playfully. He barked happily before letting her go, a couple feet from Heather but certainly no closer to the water. Next he wanted to play with the doulbe-headed bird, so he got to his feet and got a bit closer to the pokemon. His tail and back end raised high with his head low, he growled a playful growl and looked up at the doduo, his eyes full of excitement. " Let's play! Since you have two heads, that means you're double fun, right?"" His barks were happy and joyful as he posed the question, hoping Heather would play with him.

Heather winced at the piercing screeching coming from the tadpole. He suddenly was having some problems. He usually had no problems with seeing through two pairs of eyes, but suddenly it was hard to focus and he thought he was seeing double. Is this why pokemon always seemed confused when he claimed he had no problems with organizing information coming from two heads? He tried shaking his heads to try and clear his mind, but it wasn't helping, and he was having a hard time trying to refocus himself. What was he doing...? He managed to squint out the tadpole on the ground. Oh yeah. He remembered now. He was uh.... Pecking at this squishy thing for some reason. He didn't remember why, but he figured he should keep doing it. He stabbed his beak at the tadpole again.

Or at least, he was about to, when a blurry brown furry mass of.... Something came and stole the squishy. He was squinting uncertainly. The thing was growling, but was saying something about fun.....? What....? For once, Heather spoke out of both his heads but they were saying different things.

"(Can I have that back?)"

"(Who are you?)"

It might've not come out too coherent, since they were speaking simultaneously.

Flash winced as he saw Heather seemed.... Suddenly rather out of it. The screech from the tadpole must've set him off balance somehow, considering how Heather didn't seem focused at all, and his heads were swaying slightly. It was strange, and unnatural behavior Flash found from the Doduo. He was already approaching to see if he could help Heather somehow, when what appeared to be a puppy had emerged from the bushes, and took the tadpole from Heather. Though, it appeared to be rather playful and young. Flash couldn't help a soft chuckle. It was rather adorable. He approached the puppy and bent down slightly. "Who are you, little guy?" He asked softly. He admitted that he might have a slight soft spot for the young and innocent, feeling that it reminded him of his younger siblings, especially when they'd been terribly young and when they enjoyed Flash's attention more. He more specifically thought of Ice and Lightning when they were young, since there was a larger age gap between them.

The rockruff watched in anticipation as the bird with two heads tried to respond. Of course, in its confusion, the bird wasn't really able to respond quite clearly. Both heads spoke at the same time, the pup attempting to catch all the words but in his ridiculous focus to do so caught none of them. Though he barked cheerfully at the heads speaking different things, thinking it was just another fun thing so see. "Wow, you can talk out of both! At the same time! Separate things! That's hilarious and awesome." He hopped in his enthusiasm about it, which fixed his posture to normal.

The fish, seeing that the others were pretty thoroughly distracted, hoped to use this as an opportunity. Slowly, carefully, she tried to roll her body. She was hoping to be slow and quiet enough that no one would notice. But all the commotion had drawn the look of the mouse back. He was still quite a few feet away from them, but suddenly the situation wasn't what he'd thought. The bird wasn't operating as well as before, and the dog was just an infant. And, if the pup kept them busy, maybe he could still make off with the little tympole after all. He stopped running and watched for a moment, ready to take off in either direction depending on what happened.

As Flash started to approach the dog, it noticed and turned his head. Oh, did this thing want to play now? He got lower to the ground, and much closer than before, so his attention shifted. He hadn't seen one of these before. What was it called? The creature was making sounds, like how most would speak, but the words didn't make sense to him. Confused about that, he approached and simply sniffed at the human, trying to identify the scent. He hadn't smelled this before! What could it be? Well, as long as it wanted to play, he would be happy. He ran a circle around Flash and stopped in front, bowing once more with an inviting bark, asking him if he would play.

Heather's ears were still ringing from the Tympole's screeching, though it was steadily starting to clear up, but he still felt rather disoriented, and it was still hard to get his thoughts straight and focus on anything. Though, he was starting to come out of it, and he caught the tail end of what the pup in front of him was saying. Heather was still a little off, and he finally was able to coordinate his heads to say the same thing, though his second head was speaking a bit late, so it was possible that it wasn't any easier to understand him.

"(I suppose....?)" He tried shaking his heads gently to try and force himself into a clearer state of mind, trying to chase away the headache that the tadpole forced upon him. It was mostly working, and he was pretty sure he could focus on the bouncing pup in front of him.... Sort of.... His head still ached a little bit, and things were a little fuzzy, but he more or less figured he was okay now.

He sort of knew that the Tympole that gave him the headache wasn't dealt with yet, but with the lingering fuzziness in his mind and the rather attention grabbing dog in front of him, he'd basically forgotten about actually addressing the water-type. The puppy seemed rather young and excitable, and now they seemed to be looking off at.... Heather turned his heads as well and oh. The human was approaching and he guessed that seemed interesting to a little puppy? He guessed so.....

Flash saw the pup bend down, was it about to pounce? He wasn't entirely sure, but then the puppy came closer and sniffed at him. Hm. He guessed the pup was curious and trying to figure things out about him. Apparently the puppy decided whatever he found about Flash, it was perfectly fine because now he was running circles around Flash and bowing again. Flash would guess the pup wanted to play? He chuckled lightly. Now, what kind of games did puppies play....? The only dogs that were around the house were two of his parents' pokemon, who were plenty old enough by the time Flash was born so.... He didn't really know a lot about puppies. Even now, he was mostly working with guesswork.

He seemed to be the active sort. Perhaps Flash could get the puppy to chase him? He stood up to his full height, but wore a playful smile on his face. He didn't goof around as much as he used to when he was younger, having to entertain his younger siblings more when they were even younger. "Do you want to chase?" He said anyway, though he wasn't sure the puppy would understand. He tried beckoning the puppy with a hand gesture. He wondered if the pup would understand the gesture, or at least be able to guess at it.

Meanwhile, Heather was squinting all of his eyes straight at the human. "(Is now a time for a game....?)" He asked skeptically, though he didn't actually expect an answer. The human didn't really understand his words.... So, Heather had to use his actions to convey most of his desires and questions and feelings.

The human stood up in reaction to his play bow, and he was getting jittery with excitement. Was he going to play? It seemed like he was. His actions weren't as excited as his own, but the man seemed to be interested in playing. More than the double headed bird who seemed confused had been. He saw the gesture with the hand, beckoning him forward? Tag? Tag! He launched on his assumption, soft bumping into the human's leg. With that, he took off, running around the little clearing, hoping the human would follow. He sure wasn't going to make it easy on flash to catch him!

The plusle was figuring it all out now. The ridiculous read: scary bird with two heads was confused, likely from something the fish had done. The dog, who he'd originally thought was a dangerous predator, was an infant who just wanted to have fun. The new appearance of the human was just for the little one, so the mouse seemed to be in the clear. Perfect. If he acted fast, he could get this tympole and be out of here. With that shrew having ran underground, he wouldn't have to share either. Not exactly a meal the mouse preferred, but the hungry rumbling in his stomach wanted to be sated by it, and sooner rather than later.

Getting closer to the water, the water-type continued rolling her body, trying to be calm as a bit of relief was sitting in. The bird seemed too preoccupied with the induced confusion, and the puppy was keeping the human busy. This was her chance! She rolled, as fast as she could while using her tail fin to push herself as she could. The edge of the water was getting closer and closer! And then, just when she thought she might be home free, she noticed the plusle closing in fast. But, the water was so close! she couldn't stop now. If she could just make it a bit further --

The hope was in vain as the mouse leaped in. His body met hers, the plusle's face getting in close as a couple small sparks breached the pouches on his cheeks. He shoved his face against the fish, nuzzling the pokemon as the electricity tingled at the fish's body, zapping at her nerves and trying to keep her from moving. Her sheer determination kept her going, as she fired off a bubble attack to get the pokemon off of her. The bubbles smacked into the rodent, causing him to step back a couple inches, before the water-type continued to work towards the water. She just needed to make it to the water, and then she'd be free and safe!

When Flash beckoned the puppy, he seemed to understand just fine. The pup bounded forward, and bumped gently into his leg. The pup seemed to be quick, and had a lot of energy. After, the pup bolted away, and given that the pup still wanted to play.... Flash imagined he wanted Flash to chase him. He admitted, he couldn't help a bit of a smile. Okay, so maybe he had a weakness for the childish, maybe because it reminded him of his siblings when they were younger. Before they'd all become old enough to work, and playtime wasn't really something any of them really all had a lot of time for anymore. It wasn't that they had leisure time, it was just... They didn't have the opportunity to go running around for a few hours and just have fun.

Regardless, Flash chased after the pup, racing around the clearing. He might have longer legs, but the puppy he imagined at its core wasn't too terribly different than what he remembered of his younger siblings.... Far too much energy and awfully quick despite shorter legs. He chased after the pup, with a smile on his face, trying his best to catch up to the pup. Though, he'd try his best to not go too fast and reckless that he'd step on the pup by accident. He didn't want to do that.

Heather simply watched as the human went after, playing a game with the Rockruff pup. He gently shook his heads, as the human was completely distracted and chasing after the puppy. They had more important things to do, didn't they? If only he could remember what it was, he squinted as he tried to recall what exactly he'd been doing.... Then he heard noises behind him, and he turned around to see the mouse from before attacking the Tympole.... Which was what Heather had been working on before. Heather fumed just a little bit. Calling upon his speed, he rushed over to Plusle, to tackle the the rodent away. "(Paws off.)" He hissed at the electric-type, feathers bristling.
