"Welcome to all our challengers, both new and returning. The Crater City Tournament is about to begin!"
The first round will start on Monday, June 4th. An admin or mod will create your battlefield; as soon as your thread is up, you may commence the battle. The round will end on Wednesday, June 13th at 11:59pm cbox time. If a round is not completed in time, the staff will deliberate and determine who they believe would be most likely to win the battle had the battle continued, unless one of the battlers concedes to the other. The Senior Tournament may have more flexibility regarding time-limits because there are FEwER entrants.
IC-wise, the Crater City Tournament is taking place almost right in the middle of summer, and it will last four days.
Due to the timed nature of this event, staff who are participating are likely to prioritize their Tournament battles over mod threads, though we will still do our best to post in a timely manner. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. As soon as the Tournament is over, we will be back to our regular posting schedules.
1. All battles are 1v1; no switching out is allowed.
2. All Pokemon participating are, level- and energy-wise, reduced to level 5. This does not affect their move pool. This does not bring Pokemon that are under level 5 up to level 5. The same is true for the Senior Tourney, except they are level 12.
3. Before you begin your battle, determine with your opponent how much mod intervention the two of you would like. (Do you want mods to roll for accuracy, damage dealt, secondary effects, dodge attempts, and/or so forth? You may pick and choose what mods will determine, or you may go mod-less.) If you cannot get in contact with your opponent before or during the first day of the round, you may make the decision yourself. Simply state your decision in your first post, and if/when you require mod intervention, post in the mod request.
Battle rewards: Your participating Pokemon will gain +2 EXP per post (caps at +8 EXP) as well as +2 EXP if you win the battle. Your character will gain +5 tokens per post (with a cap of 40; the usual +50 tokens for a completed thread will not be earned). These will be rewarded at the end of the battle.
