Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

Now that Vex had his first pokemon, he wanted to ensure he was prepared in case he encountered more. While he would much rather try and befriend a pokemon and convince it to join him willingly, he knew all too well that there would be situation where he might not have a choice. There would be instanced when catching a pokemon would be the difference between life and death, whether for him or the pokemon he was with. He'd received a single pokeball as part of a congratulations gift his parents had put together for him along with a medicine that would heal paralysis, a pack to carry travel rations and a delicious little treat for his pokemon. They had also presented him with a second pokeball specifically for Donut. His father had carefully etched an image of an Emolga onto the top of the ball.

With only a single pokeball as backup, Vex had saved up his tokens from doing odd jobs around the village and what little he had made hunting with his father in order to buy a couple extras. As he entered the small general store that sold everything from pokeballs to travel supplies, Vex was debating how many pokeballs he should ask for. Depending on the price, he might have enough for three but that would be his entire savings. If the price had gone way up, even two would be a lot of tokens. But he was pretty sure he needed to buy more than just one pokeball. "Morning Emery. How much would it be for two pokeballs?" He questioned the general store's owner with a bright smile.

The elderly man have much surpassed the years of many around him, blandly waiting for the day he wouldn't wake up himself. As it was, he was still in relatively good health, aside from the side effects of being old. He shuffled across the floor, short stunted movements with his feet to provide minimal discomfort from his deteriorating ankle joints. It created a bit of a noise, but he didn't care. It wasn't like he needed to be stealthy in his own shop. He raised an arms to place the couple packs in his opposite arm on the smoothly finished table, his shoulder creaking internally as he moved the arm. Oh what he wouldn't give to have the bones he had 20 years ago.

He'd already been somewhat elderly when he'd come to Terrene, and now it was just ridiculous. He sometimes felt he was literally the most elderly man in the world, given that most didn't make it to his age. And yet, in some respects, he'd been around less years than others. It was frustrating, for young whippersnappers to have been around longer but not be nearly at his stage of deterioration from age. He released a sigh as both packs were on the table, gently allowing his arms to rest at his side. He turned and shuffled back towards the counter with the locked-up tokens and bits of writing cloth for notes and pricing.

When the boy entered his shop, he paid him no mind, waiting until the hunter's son would approach him to purchase something. The child wasted no time in getting to the point. Which was good. As he'd likely realized growing up around here, Emery was not a man of many words. In the old days he was, but nowadays it just made his jaw sore to keep talking. He moved his gaze over to the customer. "125 tokens a piece for a total 250. I'll throw in a third for 350." He kept his words curt and gruff, his low voice tinkered with the voice of his age, his vocal chords struggling to keep the tone and depth they used to portray. If the both should accept, he would count out the tokens [At a much slower pace than Vex could have, but insistent that he must do it himself]. Once they were all accounted for, he would point over at the pokeballs so the boy could take them and go, his hand shaky as it did so.

Though Vex knew Emery preferred to get straight to the point and not waste his time and energy on small talk, he also had a vague recollection of the old man talking at length with anyone who visited his store. Of course, just because he didn't give in to idle chit-chat didn't make Emery unfriendly. He was simply an old man with aches and pains. The discount he offered was more than Vex had expected since he was still young and inexperienced. Though he was familiar enough with the prices things tended to be sold for, he didn't have any experience with trying to make sure he was getting a good deal. He'd always been too busy eyeing the displays while his father talked business to pay attention. But 350 tokens for three pokeballs was probably the best he was likely to get.

The question he had to ask himself was whether or not he needed three pokeballs. He could afford it and he'd still have some tokens left over which he planned to save for the annual fair in Ashfield where unusual and rare items were often sold. There was even a stall with pokemon eggs last year and if Vex planned on buying anything he needed to save his tokens. On the other hand, if he passed up Emery's offer this time, he might not get another offer like it. The old shopkeep could be finicky like that. "I'll take three then. Thanks Emery." He said, dumping tokens onto the counter for the old man to count out. Vex could assure him that there were exactly enough there or insist that he could count them out all day long and Emery would just as stubbornly insist that he needed to count the tokens himself. So Vex let the old many count and studied the shelf of pokeballs, admiring the specialty balls and deciding that the next time he had enough tokens he was going to get one for himself. He didn't know what type he wanted, yet, but he was definitely getting one.

As soon as Emery had counted out the required amount of tokens, Vex swiped the remaining ones back into his pouch and then picked out three pokeballs which he tucked into his bag. "Thanks again. Have a good day Emery." He said with a wave for the old man as he headed out the door to see what adventures he and Donut could have for the day.
