Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

This battle is taking place west of Crater, right on the edge of the Rolling Mountains. It is a small hill, with a gradual ascent. The ground isn't particularly flat or smooth anywhere, so watch your step. Feel free to use your environment to your advantage. Good luck, combatants! The deadline for this round is June 22nd.

Honestly, Blue had no idea how she ever got here. While she was highly confident in Mary, she didn't expect the canine to win the first round. She felt slightly uncomfortable as she stepped into the battle area and was greeted by some spectators. She waved shyly to them and moved over to where the battle would be taking place.

Sasha and Mary were trailing behind the human, chatting away like they usually did. But the mareep also seemed to be eying the area around her. Occasionally, she would trip and almost start tumbling down the hill. Mary was quick enough to grab her friend and keep her from doing so, thankfully.

The hill had a nice breeze, actually. Blue looked around in awe at how nice the scenery was. She still wasn't actually used to seeing this much green. Not that she was complaining, though. It was actually a nice change from Oasis's never-ending land of brown dirt.

She started to look around for the person she was supposed to be battling with. Was she early again? Did they accidentally sleep in? Little thoughts started to intrude her head as she cautiously paced around on the hill.

When the opponent did arrive, however, Sasha would immediately perk up from her spot. With a small 'bah' to her houndour friend and a moment of booping noses, the mareep pounced in front of her human. There was a confident smile on her face and she was clearly excited at the idea of battling. Mary and Blue stared at the mareep with the same knowing smiles.

Flash had been mildly torn between pleased and vaguely annoyed about his advancing to the second round. He was pleased that Heather had performed well, and defeated the camel that belonged to that Fleet, who he believed did not deserve victory due to his unsavory behavior. He doubted that such a person learned any lessons from the defeat, but it was better than stroking his ego, Flash was sure. He was vaguely annoyed because advancing to the second round meant that he was to stay in Crater City a while longer, until he was defeated in the Tournament or.... He supposed the slim chance that he won. Still... The sooner he could go home and take Lightning and Ice with him, the better. He did not dislike Crater City.... He just preferred his home, where his family was.

Anyways, round two for Flash's match appeared to be taking place outside the city, right on the edge of the Rolling Mountains. The area wasn't quite the hills of the actual area, though this battlefield was not exactly flat. He hoped that it would not hinder Heather too much. He looked across the battlefield to see his opponent, who bore the name of a color: Blue. When he first spotted her across the ways, he squinted slightly. Hm.... She seemed awfully small... How young was she? Even as he thought this, something niggled at his brain. He decided she was probably just a teenager who was probably small for her age.... It seemed most likely and settled his thoughts the best.

As he'd approached, the girl's sheep had bounced forward confidently. "I see." He called out. "Is your sheep the one you're using for this match?" He asked, even as he pulled out Heather's pokeball, and released the two-headed bird pokemon, who recovered better than the day before when let loose. Heather shook his heads minimally, and seemed prepared to fight. "Would I mind if we made the first move?" Flash asked.

Blue winced to herself as she immediately noticed her opponent's viable scars... Was he okay? She wondered what had happened. Well, it was rude to ask, so she kept quiet about it.

Her eyes widened in interest as a bird about her size appeared out of the pokeball. She raised her eyebrows at the sight of the two heads, though. How exactly did that work?.. Was that how the species normally was, or were they conjoined? It felt a little odd to look at, but the girl smiled anyways.

"Yeah! She's really excited to." Blue called with a small nervous laugh. She glanced at the mareep, who was slightly digging into the dirt with her hooves. "... Sasha, just remember that there isn't killing here. Please don't kill this bird." She murmured, in which the other actually nodded in acknowledgement.

Sasha stared blankly at the doduo, and boldly got into a battling stance. She was ready to fight! Bah! Come on! She prepared to attack, but a small awkward hand gesture from Blue paused her... What did she mean?

As she tried to realize what the hand gesture meant, the doduo was free to attack. For now, she was too confused to notice her prior priority.

Blue's wincing was not exactly subtle, and Flash had no problems seeing it dawn on her. If he had to guess.... It was because of his visible scars. They were fairly unpleasant to look at, especially the scars laying around his throat. Permanent proof of his near-death experience, available for anyone to see, as long as they could see his neck. It wasn't something he was wholly comfortable with, but he dealt with it. He'd long since come to terms with people staring, however. There was no changing that.

He wasn't sure what her surprise was about, however. He couldn't think of what could possibly be causing her eyes to widen like that. She'd already looked at him... So was it... Heather? He looked at the Doduo. He supposed the double heads could be perceived as strange... Though, personally he didn't think it was that worthy of concern. Pokemon could be very strange at times, and Doduo was no exception.

When Blue agreed to let Flash and Heather have the first move... Flash looked to Heather. Given that human words were meaningless to the flightless bird, he merely nodded and pointed to the sheep that was to be Heather's adversary. Heather quickly understood that start command, and he narrowed his eyes on both heads. He could see small sparks of static electricity coming off the sheep's wool.... He'd need to hit hard and fast.

So, he pulled out the big guns.... Even if it was rather tiring, that was his only shot. Heather began running straight at his foe, leaning his heads forward to make his streak more streamlined, as a blinding energy sparked up and enveloped him as he reached his higher speeds. He was aiming straight for the sheep, so his path was a little predictable... However, the land-bound bird was also extremely fast on his long legs, and it was possible he was going to fast to be dodged.

If he hit, he'd find that the blue energy encasing him while he'd attacked turned on him, burning off feathers, as he winced in pain. The attack would take its toll if successful. However, if he missed, the energy would simply dissipate harmlessly, as he skidded to a stop to train both eyes on his adversary. He had no plans of taking his eyes off his enemy.

Sasha barely had time to react when she noticed the strange bird charging at her at full speed. The only thing she could was shout, "(Woah holy shit!)" and be flown back from the attack. Both her trainer and fellow pokemon let out short-lived screams as they witnessed the attack hit.

The sheep tumbled back into the grass, and almost started to roll down the hill. She grunted at the sharp pain in her side. After a few moments, she brushed off the pain and got to her feet.

She let out a long cackle as she rushed back to the battlefield. A stupidly amused grin was on her face. She glanced over to Mary, and nodded to her, as if indicating that she was okay. "(Yo, that was great!)" She shouted to the bird as she rushed up towards him.

The mareep would soon start to expel several sparks from her wool, and her stupid grin still remained. She then bleated, and tried to launch a series of the sparks at the bird. The feel of adrenaline rushed through her, and she felt like she was on top of the world.

Blue was just sort of panicking in the background, now highly fearful for her sjeep after that attack. Mary kept her eyes trained on the fight, hoping it would end soon enough.

Heather had successfully struck the sheep, but that power sparked as it disappeared, singing and burning feathers and skin underneath. He winced and tried to hold back noises of pain, as he was still in the middle of the battle.... That, and he would have to perform that attack again soon. He'd need to hit hard to defeat this pokemon... This adversary of his wouldn't be taken down by anything less than his best, considering the type disadvantage. He was not particularly fond of anything resembling lightning.

The sheep had rolled in the grass a little from his attack, but seemed to recover after a short while. His stance was slightly weaker than before, due to the fact that such a strong attack took its toll on him.... The sheep seemed... Somewhat manic, however, and he questioned the mental stability of his adversary. She began rushing towards him, and sparks collected from her wool and were shot towards him. He was still feeling slightly weak in the legs, and he was struck with the attack, he let out a cry of pain from both beaks, as the electricity burned off more feathers, and he was sure he'd have some blackened spots from all the burnt feathers.

He stumbled for a quick step, before he leveled his heads and stared determinedly at the possibly insane sheep. He steeled himself, recollecting his strength. He pushed past the itchy tiredness prickling in his legs, and that same energy enveloped him, as he rushed at the sheep once again. That same fiery blue aura accompanied him once more, and since the sheep wasn't all the way across the battlefield this time, she had even less time to judge him at full belt.

Once more, if Sasha somehow managed to dodge, the aura would dissipate peacefully without fanfare. Should Heather strike true... That power that supported him would turn on him and give him nasty shocks.

Although Sasha was almost high on adrenaline, she couldn't help but wince at the cries of the bird. She knew this wasn't a pokemon really threatening her or her team, and that was really one of the big reasons she liked fighting. But she had nothing to protect, so this was kind of awkward for her.

Still, this was a competition, and winning would be nice. Her stupid grin lightened a bit, and she stepped away from the doduo.

Just as she was preparing another attack, she felt a rush of pain. She yelped, and was tossed back again into the grass. Her hooves skidded into the dirt, making deep marks. She grunted in pain, and tried to regain her composure. She felt a bit weak from the two attacks though, and little shades of black filled the corner of her eyes.

No, she had to stay standing. You're no use to anyone if you're unconscious. She tightened her muscles, and rushed back over to the flightless bird. Some sparks flew into the air as she did. But suddenly, the sparks died down. It didn't take a psychic type to realize that Heather was most likely tired... Ack. Plus, the human told her not to kill. Blue being ticked off at her wouldn't be a pleasant scene... That is, if she had the capability to even be ticked off.

So with the electricity out of the way, Sasha merely just tried to crash into the doduo. When, or if, she made contact with him, she would kick off with his body like a springboard. She didn't want to be near him if he had the energy to attack her while she was near.

Blue kind of covered her eyes at this point, she was fairly certain of something bad happening on either ends. Mary simply gulped as she stood by her human and watched the fight with wide eyes.

Heather did not enjoy the pitying look he saw in the sheep's eyes. He knew another electrical attack would do him in... Possibly even end him permanently, though he thought that it wasn't the point of this. Still, he felt mildly insulted as the sheep barreled towards him, intending to attack him in the most basic of manners.

Still, he was weak. He barely had the strength to keep himself standing tall, and he doubted he even had another attack in him... Much to his chagrin. He could accept defeat, as he'd live to see another day. Though, he didn't have to be happy about it. He silently thought to himself that if they ever met again for a spar... Heather would make efforts to see that it would go differently. Not that he was so prideful to attack this sheep on sight should they meet again... But if an opportunity should present himself... He wouldn't pass it up.

Regardless, as the sheep crashed into him, he suddenly felt darkness closing in, as he was knocked unconscious into the grass.

Flash had been watching this whole time. Heather's strategy seemed to have been to go straight for the throat... Though, it wasn't enough against the Mareep that served as Heather's adversary. He looked across the battlefield and nodded slightly. "You have trained a strong pokemon." He said, giving his compliments. He moved over to where Heather had fallen into the grass, and crouched down. He didn't think the bird would hear him through unconsciousness but..... "You made a noble effort." He said softly. He pulled out Heather's pokeball to recall him. As he rose back to his full height, he regarded the probable-teenager once more and briefly nodded as a ways of goodbye. Seeing as he had no reason to remain as the match had seemingly ended.... He took his leave of the place.

He couldn't wait to go home.

Sasha let out a pained grunt as she hit the ground, her hooves digging deep into the ground. The sheep stared blankly as the doduo collapsed, and nodded to herself. Although she felt sort of awkward about fighting, a surge of pride filled her. She felt like she could take on anything now.

The sheep stumbled over to the bird, and looked down at one of his heads. She had to admit, this pokemon hit hard. Her sides ached greatly from the attacks, but she refused to show she was in pain. Instead, she just tried to smile and spoke to the knocked out opponent. "(You did well, dude. Wish you luck.)"

Blue briefly looked past her hands, and winced as she noticed the fallen bird... Oh god, did Sasha..? Blue's hands quickly fell from her face as she ran away to the two pokemon and the other human, Mary running by her side.

She stumbled slightly as she got nearer, and clutched her jacket sleeves. "Sir, I'm so-"

Her apology was paused as she saw the doduo recalled to his pokeball. He wasn't mad or upset so... Sasha couldn't have killed the other, right? Thank Arceus.

As he nodded in goodbye, she hesitantly waved a small goodbye. "Th-thanks... Have a nice day." She murmured. As she looked down at her sheep, she winced. Sasha didn't seem so good. She lightly picked up the sheep, much to her dislike, and started to carry her off for medical treatment.
