Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

Summertime was always a bit iffy in Dawn's head. It was horribly hot with little to no way of the woman cooling herself off, as well as those cursed flash thunderstorms. Disgusting, both of them. But still... Hunting was plentiful this time of year, with the growing amount of pokemon in the clear daylight. It was much better than digging through large amounts of snow for some pathetic rat.

Although her motives for being out in the forest included hunting, she wasn't exactly doing that. Instead, Dawn was lounging on a sturdy branch up high in the air, clearly disregarding her safety. Her little bidoof laid on his trainer's stomach, although he wasn't as relaxed as the other. He was used to cutting down trees, not napping in them!

The two simply lounged in the branch for a good while, staring off into the forest and sky. One thing about Summer above everything was the nice breeze and nature. Just something about all of the trees and flowers made her feel at ease. It might be because she was away from the ocean, or it might be just the natural feeling this forest brings. Dawn didn't even know herself.

But just as she was about to doze off, a sound snapped her back to the real world. She sat up immediately, and her gaze quickly shifted to the ground. Oh right, there were other things around here. Hopefully it was a good-sized pokemon. Although she had literally no weapons except her bare hands, she seemed pretty confident to fight anything that resembled food, even if it was an ursaring.

Kid let out a squeak as the human positioned herself on the branch, staring intently at the ground with her working eye. He looked down in fear, and began to climb onto Dawn's back. There he would cling to the woman's long hair so he couldn't lose her if she started to take off after something.

While Dawn might've been hoping for a Ursaring, Balto wasn't. The boy had learned first hand what would happen if you angered that bear pokemon. His face and cloudy eye were the result. Balto had come out here to do some foraging, to find food that he could share with Dixie. The rodent pokemon was perched upon his head, she was done cleaning for the day and she was content. She looked kind of funny sitting on his red fluffy hair. Though she didn't really care, she just wanted a good sunbathing spot and well, his head was a good perch.

His one working eye looked around, scanning the area for any small trees that shared the characteristics of berry trees. Berry trees weren't really big and it was usually easy to make em out. The trees weren't suited for their wood his parents had told him years ago, while you could try to use it for kindling it wasn't the greatest ideas. Plus if you cut it down then, you would be removing a possible food source you could've used when you came back round this area some day. So they had told him that overall, it was best to just pick the berries and not waste the energy on cutting the tree down.

However, his boot landed on a pointed rock that wasn't stable due to the rain a few days prior. IT slid under the pressure and Balto managed to react quickly enough to stop himself from loosing his balance. However, his boot landed on a twig, making a crack sound. The sound caught Dixie off guard and her head shot up, ears perked and twitching as she looked around. Though seeing nothing she looked down at him.

["Keep it down please."] Dixie requested.

Balto gave a relieved sigh, slightly worried he would've sent Dixie flying off his head. Thankfully, he hadn't done that and he was able to give a sigh of relief. Leaning against a tree that Dawn wasn't in but she might see him; considering the orange, cream, and black pelt of a arcanine he wore made him stand out. Leaning against it, he slid down and took a seat.

Dawn's eye shot up in surprise as she noticed what she had assumed made the prior noise. The colors and patterns reminded her of an arcanine, although she had barely met any of the creatures herself... But those pokemon typically walked on four legs, right? How the hell could it walk like a human? Unless she was going crazy and seeing things wrong, she knew that there was something odd about the creature.

She scooted further up the branch, trying to catch a better view of the odd arcanine. She managed to make out another pokemon. A minccino, right? How did that work? Don't those dogs typically eat tiny things like that?

Dawn squinted, and glanced over her shoulder as Kid let out a small squeak. "Shh..." She murmured, her voice oddly quiet. Well, not so odd, considering her position. Keeping quiet kept attention from being drawn towards you. And when you're hunting, you want to do anything but grab attention.

She eyed the other creature as she steadily crossed branches to get closer to Balto. While she was cautious about her footing, she did not take her eye off of the other.

Actually, now that she got a closer look... That might be a human. It wouldn't be all too odd, as pokemon pelts did make fine clothing when needed. Still, an arcanine? She wondered how they got the pelt. Bought it, maybe? Eh, why was she curious, anyways? Pelts aren't exactly a thing that even interests her.

She finally got herself on a branch in the tree that Balto was sitting by. She now sat lazily on the branch, her legs dangling in the air. She didn't need to be stealthy now, given that this was probably a human. Cannibalism didn't suit her mood right now, anyways.

"You come here often?" Dawn called, raising an eyebrow. Her face was pretty deadpan, despite her joking voice. Kid was now shaking slightly, and made an attempt to perch himself upon the woman's shoulder. The little rodent stared in slight fear at the other creatures. Last time Dawn socialized with a human, she got her eye maimed... Arceus please let this not go downhill. The bidoof cupped his front paws together and looked like he was praying for things to go well.

Startled by the voice, Balto looked up. Revealing that he too had only one working eye. Dixie managed to jump down and land in Balto's lap. Giving a displeased look up to the human that was sitting in the tree. By the love of Legendaries why?! She wanted a nice nap and here she was, not getting it.

"Uh....not to this spot no..." Balto answered. "I...I spend most of my time in the woods though."

Indeed, he had been raised traveling through forests and such, so it was what he knew best. Meanwhile he didn't really know life in a town or city. It was weird in his mind to be at Forest Beach. All the people there...all the sounds. It didn't seem bad it was just..he felt odd there. Granted, his appearance reflected he didn't fit in there. But there wasn't anything he could do about that.

"And...y...you?" Balto asked, not sure if he should ask or not.

Huh, only one working eye... It was nice to see that she wasn't alone?? Well, he probably had an awesome story for how he got a blind eye, while she was stuck being pecked by a damn doduo. Her hands fidgeted and formed shaking fists. If she ever sees that stupid bird again, she's snapping both of their thin noodle necks. Dawn smiled at that thought.

She listened to the boy, blanking out on occasion. Huh, you would think you'd see a person like this walking around sometime. She didn't ever recall seeing him in any of her constant hunting trips. Well, she didn't want to think of the chances of it even happening. Percentages hurt her head.

"Huh, weird. Don't think I've seen you around here." Dawn spoke, lifting up her eyebrows. She glanced over at Kid, and shrugged.

She turned back to Balto and his minccino. She blinked, and features her hand in a circling motion. "And yeah, I'm the neighborhood hobo." Her voice was forced into a monotone, but some playful tones were still there. Kid looked down at the other rodent, but made no greeting or even a sentence. He just sat, too afraid to speak. And honestly, he was too used to his mute facade to even feel comfortable with his voice.

Dawn couldn't keep her eye off of the other human's cloudy eye. It felt so weird to look at. Did her own eye look like that? Geez. She'd find a stream to look at her reflection, but Arceus knows she'd die before hunting for a body of water.

"So how'd you get the weird eye?" She murmured bluntly, setting her head on her hand.

"Yeah...traveled around, never been this close to the town before..." Balto answered, giving a reason as to why she hadn't seen him.

His father was the one to go to town and when he disappeared, his mother did. She never took him into the towns or cities, she always kept him hidden in the woods or just away from the civilization. He wasn't sure why but that's how it always went. Now she was gone and Dixie here had led him to the Beach village.

Dixie looked up at the human and her Bidoof, not really impressied by anything. With a hmph like motion, she turned her back to the male rodent as she remained on Balto's leg. She didn't want to see how messy they possibly where, she finally got Balto to a reasonable degree of cleanliness. Though she had a feeling she'd have to clean him up once more. Grey ears twitched as the other human questioned them and as she looked to Balto, she noticed him cringe slightly.

Both humans had damaged eyes, the Minccino had noticed that. Though she didn't know why Balto had those scars and his eye...this was the first time she looked at it in more detail. The grey rodent noticed it's cloudy look, how the scars were situated on his face. This didn't look like what she had seen humans do but there was no telling with them honestly.

The question brought up terrible memories, being only a child when it happened. Balto averted his gaze, shaking slightly as he sat there.

"U...Ursaring...I..I was just seven and I found a Teddiursa. We were playing but...it's mother didn't like it." Balto answered, a hand going to his left eye and cover that area of his face along with the scars that were around it.

Though one could see the rest of the scars that went to the other side of his face due to the swiping motion of the large bear's claws.

So, an ursaring, huh? Probably seems like that'd leave a mark. Well, pokemon out here were brutal after all. Especially mother pokemon. At that thought, Dawn started to stare at her own scars. It was kind of odd knowing that she remembered so much detail about what happened to cause each one. But Dawn had a record of keeping grudges, though. You don't simply forget the face of someone who's caused you scars.

She blinked, and sighed as she noticed him shaking. She didn't know exactly how to comfort him, as hugging and overall physical contact was not really her thing. Instead, she slowly climbed down the tree and landed next to Balto.

She took a seat, and raised an eyebrow. "You want me to go fight it?" She asked, not a trace of sarcasm in her voice. After a bit, she held up her hand and pointed to the scars along her face. "And trust me, you're not alone in getting into those accidents." She chuckled lightly.

Now on his human's lap, Kid was now staring at the minccino. She had her back turned to him, which confused him. Was she upset with him? He had no idea what he could have done to upset the other rodent.

Well, hopefully she wasn't too upset. The small rodent grew a bit red in the face and tried to wave his paws in greeting. If she turned, he would try and show a sheepish grin.

Looking up, Balto wasn't sure what to say in response. She did have a great deal of scars, that much was true. Though there was nothing he could do in regards to them. To him, they didn't look strange or odd. Though he knew those had to hurt.

"Uh...it's been years...I don't know if it's still around or not but..." Balto answered, feeling his unease with the memories growing. "If...if ya want you can....but like I said, I don't know if it's even in this forest still..."

Dixie turned around, her eyes studying the bidoof, Oh no, she wasn't mad at him, just not impressed at all by em. Though she gave him a few more looks over, taking note of his brown pelt. Not a horrible mess at least, though not the most perfectly clean coat. Moving closer to him, the female grey rodent reached forth and started to clean the Bidoof's face; at least his fur. Using her tail, she sat on it to prop herself up some more so she could reach with more ease and not cause any damage to the male as well. For now, she didn't notice the mess that his trainer was in.

It might've felt nice to Kid, who knows. Probably the closest thing to a massage he'd get to in his little pokemon life. She smoothed the areas where she had already cleaned back down and once done, she leaned back to admire her handiwork. His face looked much better! She gave a smile and a approving nod.

Dawn nodded and let out a little laugh. She lowered her hand to her lap, and briefly petted Kid. She lulled away though, as it seemed the boy's pokemon was messing with his fur. She gave a slightly confused and cautious expression as she turned to look at Balto.

"Um, what's she doing to Kid? Don't tell me she's hurting him." She murmured, a tone of threat rising at her last words. While it looked like the bidoof was fine, she had her doubts. She was ready to kick anything that harmed her baby.

Meanwhile, Kid was surprised to see the minccino start to groom his fur. His face turned even redder as she got closer. He self-consciously shuffled his paws around, as if a bit embarrassed by the slightest flaw in his fur.

Still, when she was finished cleaning his fur, he felt a bit happier. His smile grew a bit wider at the other's confident grin. He nodded quickly in thanks, as he had no idea what to even say. Then again, he never knew what to say.

"Oh no no, she's not. She's just cleaning his fur, she seems to like doing that. She keeps doing it to me but it's harmless." Balto assured her.

He heard the threat and the boy couldn't help but fear what would happen if she didn't believe him. Dixie was still new to him but it never hurt when she cleaned his hair. It surprised him that she didn't even notice how dirty Dawn was.

Dixie was fine with the lack of words from the Bidoof, that was fine by her. She gave a happy clap with her little paws. Good, he liked the small improvement she gave him. Very good. Though she was surprised when Balto reached forward and gently picked her up. Removing her from Dawn's lap, Balto held her close to himself. Trying to prevent things from getting out of hand.

However his grip was very loose as he didn't seek to hurt her, so it was more than easy to escape his grasp and she took a seat on his shoulder. Smoothing out her grey fur that he had accidentally messed up. However her brown gaze got sight of Dawn and her eyes went wide as she looked the human female over.

Good lord!!! She was a mess!! Far worse than what Balto had ever been. Humans were suppose to be clean, this girl was a true rat's nest. How could the Bidoof be so much better at his coat being clean than a human? Not standing for this, Dixie leaped and attempted to land on Dawn's head. If she managed, she would start plucking out twigs and leaves along with specks of dirt.

Dawn sighed, and stared at the two rodents. Well, Kid seemed to be content, so she guessed it was okay... She was still uncomfortable with it, though. But she merely nodded to Balto in acknowledgement.

Kid nodded and waved a paw as Dixie was taken back to her trainer's lap. He watched the minccino start to fix the other human's hair in interest. Did she always do that? It was nice, to say the least. The rodent's ears perked up, and watched the other intently. Maybe he could pick something up from this, and fix his fur on his own. That would impress her, right?

He suddenly let out a squeak as Dixie changed her target over to his human. Ohhhh Arceus, this can't be good. He let out a wince as Dawn started to shout in surprise.

"Woah, woah, woah! What the shit? Get off of me!" The woman yelped as she felt the minccino rustle through her hair. She quickly tried to grab the pokemon, and almost made an effort to chuck her away. But the terrified and sad look on Kid's face made her realize that throwing this trainer's pokemon miiiight upset him.

With a grunt, she tried to hand the gray pokemon over to Balto. After the rodent was away from her, Dawn would run her fingers through her long hair. She only now realized how absolutely messy it was. She wasn't really going to fix it, though.

Kid sighed, and stared at Dixie with wide eyes. He didn't really know what to do or say to make an apology for his human's behavior. He just awkwardly shuffled his paws and refused to glance away too long from the other normal type.

"no no no! Dixie!" Balto urged, his voice a whimper as stared wide eye at the scene.

Dixie did her best to dodge the female human's hands as she took out scraps of flifth from their hair. Even using her tail to dust areas off; though did little good with all the grease that was trapping most of the dirt in. Though she felt her tail being grabbed hold of and she gave her own shout, her grey fur puffing out as she disliked this feeling of the human holding her by the tail.

As she dangled in the air, she flailed about and tried to go back to work. Though noticing how the hand holding her was dirty, she tried to start cleaning it. Only to feel shaking hands grasping hold of her gently but a big firmer than the first time. Balto had grabbed hold of her as Dawn held her out. And quickly he pulled her to himself and pressed her gently against hist chest.

"I...I'm sorry...sorr...sorry!!!" Balto apologized, clearly he was scared his voice shaking just as much as he was.

Dixie struggled to squirm free but she managed and got his shoulder. She would've gone for Dawn again but she noticed, her lovely grey coat was no longer clean! Dixie's face held a look of shock as she made a squeak, quickly she started to clean her fur in a hurry. So she wasn't paying much attention to Kid. Although, if he wanted to learn how to clean his own fur, he was in a way, getting a free lesson.

"It...it's just something she does....." Balto stammered, his hands together as he looked at Dawn but cringed, expecting her rage. "Sh...she does it to me all the time but...she's never just...jumped onto someone else. Though I should've....known it was possible. She jumped on me when I fell off a hill and that's...how we met....I...I.."

Dawn sighed, and rolled her eyes slightly. At least that thing was out of her hair. Quite literally, might she add. She took a deep breath as the boy tried to apologize. It didn't seem to calm her clear annoyance, though.

But still, at least he was apologizing for his pokemon's actions (unlike some people). She blinked and listened to the shaking boy with a blank expression. Finally, she raised a hand and features for him to shush. "Okay, chill out, please. I don't think that reaction is good for you."

Kid eyed the minccino grooming herself in mild confusion. Wait, hold on. He winced, and quickly tried to replicate what the chinchilla was doing. He didn't do exactly the best of jobs, to say the least.

Dawn took another sigh, and stared at Balto... Maybe she could get his mind off the whole ordeal. Maybe then he'll calm down. Because honestly, this stuttering kid was starting to make her anxious. Might just be empathy, though. Hell if she knew.

"So... That's how you met that little one? Well... I met Kid when I was out hunting. I helped his mother fight off some pokemon and we just kind of became friends quickly. He was a cute little baby... Still is sort of a baby, but he's definitely grown. He might be a runt, though..." She explained, leaning her head backwards to stare at the sky.

HIs left hand was against part of his face before it migrated to his red hair, fingers disappearing into it. His gaze was diverted from Dawn as he finally shushed on his own. Though that didn't stop him from being scared and panicked.

"I...I'm not good at this..." Balto admitted, trying to make his voice normal but struggling. "I...my only interaction with people was my parents...I never went into villages before...but...with dad dead and mom leaving me a few days ago....I...I don't know what I'm doing at all."

Balto sat back down, leaning against the tree fully and sinking somewhat. Dixie noticed this action and moved from his shoulder and onto his knee. She would've gone back to her grooming when she noticed his reaction. He looked paler...and even somewhat unwell. Going to his chest, she made a sound and poked his cheek. Course he noticed her and gently petted her, doing his best to not mess up her fur. Slowly, he glanced back up to her.

"That's...certainly a interesting way to meet someone." Balto admitted. "I'm not sure about Dixie here...she seems a bit mature though or motherly in a way with how she fuses over cleaning.."

Dawn blinked, and remained dull in expression as the other human spoke. So... He was basically a hermit? Kind of sucked that he had no parents now, apparently. She subtly wished she could relate to being sad about the same thing. But... Her dad died before she was born and her mother was barely involved with her life enough to make her death seem heartbreaking. It wasn't exactly an easy time trying to relate.

"Eh, I think you're doing decent so far as far as socialization goes. Could work a bit on that stuttering, though." Dawn spoke, subtle not being part of any of her words. She started to scratch Kid behind the ear as he was... At least trying to groom himself. She chuckled lightly as she petted the bidoof.

"Hm... Dixie? Odd but cute name... Oh yeah, I guess I never actually introduced myself. Name's Dawn, add on a Windlow if you wanna be fancy." She spoke, scooting around in her seat to feel more comfortable.
