Welcome

Our old universe has
fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

The place called Desert Strip was.... Strange. It was unlike anything Ri could recall clearly. The Rolling Mountains, Lions Plains, and Great West Forest were all... Fairly unique, and it seemed Desert Strip continued that trend. The Great West Forest had been dimly lit, and densely covered with tall trees that blocked out the sun and was always noisy unless something had scared all the noisemakers away. Lions Plains had been flat and sparse in comparison to the rainforest, and it seemed like Ri could look upon the sea of grass as it swayed in the wind, and maybe it'd go on forever. At the very least, stealth and surprises were not the ways of the plains, and that was a slight comfort. The Rolling Mountains had been.... Well, they were more like large hills as far as Ri could tell. But it was the rockiest area that Ri had encountered, and like the plains it lacked dense forests, but similar to the rainforest contained its own issues while traversing. Now... Desert Strip.... As she walked, it felt like her foot sunk into the ground with every step. Of course, that wasn't true. The ground was more submissive than any area she'd encountered before, still. It reminded her of a dirty version of Lions Plains.... That is, with a more brownish color palette.

She was sure that her impression would get rougher as she kept moving on, as she was still close to the edge of the Rolling Mountains as she looked to find Oasis Village further into the area. For simplicity's sake, her pokemon were still in their pokeballs. She didn't think Sai would enjoy traveling on this kind of land, and Yuki was... Kind of extremely heavy. She might lose Arashi and Venom could bring out problems. Ri sighed. She'd been initially very opposed to the idea of trying to exert much control over.... She might as well just admit they were her pokemon. They were bound to pokeballs she carried, and well... Fact: She was a trainer, even if at the barest minimum of what counted as a trainer. Absentmindedly... She wondered if the pokemon under her care would be happier or more miserable if she were to try and.... Become more bold in trying to.... Do something. The thought made her uneasy. She found that.... Well... She liked the idea of interacting with them more. She didn't mind the idea of trying to help them get stronger. She didn't mind the idea of maybe... Trying to guide them and helping them battle smarter, as long as they could ignore her if she was being a dumbass. She wondered why it still bugged her.

She probably should figure that one out. Ri thought she had a pretty good grip on how her own damn thoughts worked.... But when she really thought about it, she felt a persistent lack of control. She didn't know how she felt or thought sometimes, and it felt like she was a walking disaster. Yeah.... She'd need some to think about this.

Andy was still in the basket, and Ri held it up to her chest. He'd seemed to have taken a nap and was only now rising back to consciousness. As soon as he woke up, he took flight from his basket, and seemed to be following Ri's footsteps by flying a little bit above her head. The basket was now empty, and much easier to carry. With much less stress on her arms, she pulled out her map and compass. Her compass seemed fine, though the map was slightly damp around the edges. She figured that it shouldn't take too long for the map to dry out in full. She squinted at it, using a finger to try and pin down where she was and to try and figure out which direction to go to best get to Oasis Village efficiently.

She just hoped her map reading skills didn't suddenly become astronomically horrible and she somehow ended up heading back into the mountains. She figured she wasn't quite that dumb but.... You never knew, honestly.

As she headed into the scrublands, the earth beneath her feet got drier and drier. Poor excuses for plants decorated the area ahead, the dark, withery looking greenery stringy and thin. Occasionally she would see a thicker plant, the rounded flora with spines poking out marking the cactus that wasn't found anywhere else in Terrene. The earth was dry and visibly cracked as far as the eye could see. On the bright side, the deep clouds that hung heavy over the mountains thinned and disappeared quickly. The air became consistently drier as she pushed further into the Desert Strip, the sky becoming barren of any clouds to mark the loss of moisture.

For the first few hours or so, the woman would find that the world was just as barren as the ground was becoming. Not many creatures preferred to call this place home, and those that did kept on the move or hid underneath the earth for shelter for the sun. As such, the woman and her bird were left alone to travel for a bit, to relax and take in the scenary as she pressed on towards the village. It was just the beginning of likely a couple days of travel, but it was quite the productive start.

After about 5-6 hours passed, there would be something growing on the horizon. Nothing so large as to indicate her destination was nearby, but certainly something. It wouldn't be long before she'd be able to make out that there were figures walking, and was that... fire? It would take a few minutes, but eventually the flickering flames would show to be coming from a couple horses, one markedly larger than the other. Walking at either side of them was a woman, the two of them idly chatting as they continued. A large wooden cart was fastened to them with specialized harnesses, though from her view she wouldn't be able to see anything within.

As they got closer to Ri, their path and Ri's coming directly at each other, one of them would wave. She was a bit taller than the other, flanking the younger ponyta, with short brown hair falling around her head. It didn't reach her shoulders, but seemed admirably well cut. The other seemed to notice her, and was pleasantly smiling, but didn't make as much of a gesture. She had dark, almost raven hair, standing barely above the shoulders of the tall rapidash her hand rested on. If Ri chose to go off her direct path to avoid them, they would not pursue her. Though if not, they would happily try to chat.

Once they were close enough, the more eager followed up her wave with a greeting. "Hello hello! Hope your travels are treating you well. Need any goods?" Though they didn't have a lot of excess after having come all the way out to Oasis to sell, they did have enough that they could spare if she needed anything. Well, anything counting to what they had in stock. The darker haired woman with darker skin spoke up next. "I assume you're on your way to the Village? Not much else out here to see if you aren't." They seemed pleasant enough, and the two fire type pokemon were the only pokemon visibly accompanying them.

Ri wondered if it was possible to run out of capacity to be drier. Because.... Well... As she walked, she thought that the dirt was getting drier and drier. Yeah, no. This a special kind of terrain that Ri had never seen before, and this was probably a shitty place to live in the Summer.... Of course it was Summer right now, and Ri figured she'd probably be learning the fine art of sweating. Then again, Ashfield got pretty hot during the Summer... On top of that, it was fucking humid in the rainforest. She figured that latter part wouldn't be a problem in Desert Strip, but it might manage to be even hotter. She guessed every place had its own way of being shit during the Summertime. Though, Ri didn't mind Summer all that much... She preferred Spring and Fall, though. Less likely to die because the weather was a piece of shit, she figured. You could freeze to death in Winter, and probably die of heatstroke or something in the Summer. Hopefully, she'd come out of this okay. She yawned, from the lack of sleep she'd gotten. Fuck, she hoped she wouldn't be forced to stop before she got to Desert Strip because she was too exhausted to go on properly.

She didn't have much to do as she walked, other than look around. She tried to not look up though, since the sky was fucking blinding, even if she felt a need to check on Andy every once in a while.... Mostly she was staring at the bone dry dirt, and the pathetic "plants" that adorned the land. It looked about as friendly as the probably hot dirt underneath her feet. She had good shoes, so she wasn't burning her feet. That was good, but she imagined if she didn't have shoes, walking might be not as great an idea in full honesty. She sighed, scratching behind her neck. She wondered if berries could even grow in this place, with how unpleasant the environment seemed to be, with no moisture to speak off and probably way too much sunlight. She was pretty sure too much of a good thing was fucking horrible.

At least, nothing was popping up to try and kill her. Though, if something did crop up, she could probably easily let out some of her pokemon to help her out.... Though.... As the thought crossed her mind, she squashed it. She was capable of booking it on her own two legs. Fuck, she couldn't be dependent on anyone. It wasn't fair, and they weren't fucking tools or bodyguards or something. Subconsciously, Ri hugged herself as she kept walking forward. She... Needed to be more involved. Thinking back on how she'd been behaving lately, she resolved to be less... Of a bystander. Because that was shitty.

After several more hours of walking, and growing sweatier and hotter, as Ri was sure that her hair was going to actually catch fire. Though, wryly she wondered if anyone would notice fiery red hair becoming actual fire. Though as she looked ahead, she saw something approaching. It was hard to see at first, but as they approached.... She saw.... Fire? She quickly went to rub at her eyes, and then looked again. Nope. Still there. Was she hallucinating? Had she finally gone fucking insane? No wait.... As it got closer and closer.... She could see the fiery horses that were approaching. Ri considered if it was weird that she considered that reassuring. Eh... Probably not. Pokemon could be pretty damn weird sometimes. One of the horses she saw ahead was bigger... Much bigger. The smaller one was probably more like a pony, actually. Accompanied by their... Humans, she guessed. It seemed they were using the pokemon to haul cargo, that they probably wouldn't be able to carry themselves.

Ri silently bit her lip and wondered if they'd just keep soldiering on and ignore her. It appeared to not be so, as she was waved at by one. The other one had a pleasant smile, and Ri forced a polite smile on her face. Mind you, it didn't look forced. Ri was great at being full of shit and pretending she was someone that she wasn't. Which in this case... Was someone friendly and not bothered by a sudden cart in her way on the way to Oasis Village. It crossed her mind to just.... Veer off the path and leave. But then a thought occurred to her. They probably came from Oasis Village.... Maybe she could ask them to verify she was going the right way... She didn't feel particularly fond of social interaction, but she really didn't want to get hopelessly lost.

The one who had waved, as Ri came within a short distance, began greeting her. Ri widened her smile into a gentle grin. "Oh, I guess it depends on what you have." She said in a friendly tone, even as internally she felt almost physically pained. She scratched behind her neck awkwardly. "Yeah... I'm on my way to the village. I'm hoping to find someone there. I've never been this way before.... This is the right way, right?"

The woman's eyes glistened with excitement as Ri responded in kind, stating that it depended on what they had. Her partner rollde her eyes with a smile on her face as she began to advertise. We've got your basic travel goods for an adventurer in need, along with pokeballs for the trainer in need. In addition, we've got some fresh water bottled up and ready to go to help you through this dry dry land. What do you say? Anything you might need for the road ahead?" Throughout the chat, she was very expressive and used a lot of gestures and examples to help the selling pitch. It was a little over the top, but she was earnestly excited about it.

The other, more calm of the traders, followed up to answer the young woman's question to them. "Yup, you're on the right path. Just keep moving straight ahead and you're bound to run right into it. Not the friendliest bunch, but you should be able to find who you're looking for pretty easily. Everyone knows everyone there." The dark-skinned woman didn't make any assumptions about Ri, but knew that was true. Whether she was looking for an immigrant or a native, asking pretty much anyone would prove to lead her the right way. "Word of advice, stick to the traders for information rather than the citizens. They're more likely to provide good information without any cost."

She specifically didn't mention what the 'cost' entailed. The gang members there didn't enjoy outsiders much. And whether they were actually natives from other towns or not, they tended to turn a suspicious brow. Their behavior was pretty crazy, in her opinion, but she wasn't about to tell them that. She valued living, after all, and it wasn't like she was fighting for her own rights there. She just traded as necessary and got out of town without drawing attention to avoid any conflict. She'd need an army to reform that messed up place. "Yup, what she said. If you wanna stock up now though, we've still got quite the stock! We brought the trade right to you."

Ri wasn't sure how awkward she looked as she saw the.... Uh... Rather excited glint in the eyes of one of the woman. She supposed some people could get pretty passionate about their line of work, it's just... Uh... Ri thought it was a bit strange about some basic goods and stuff. It sounded like they had a few things Ri figured were good... Though, she wondered if she really needed more travel supplies like supply packs. Hm... She supposed more couldn't hurt. Though.... She wanted to ask after the price first. While she did tend to be prone to blowing off her tokens in high quantities... She didn't really want to right now. Especially not for something she was sure that she wanted or was necessary. She definitely wanted some water though.

"I'd be interested in some water. What's the price of a single bottle? Also, can I inquire after the price of your... Supply packs?" She asked. She wasn't sure that she'd buy a supply pack... But if it wasn't too expensive, she might consider buying a few. She wasn't sure how she should judge as too expensive.... But.... She should hear them first.

Ri let out a sigh of relief that she was going the right way. "Thanks." She said with a nod. She was thankful for the advice as well. Honestly... If they were as prickly at they seemed to imply... Made sense why the population wasn't too large. No one would want to move somewhere that was so hard to settle into, probably. At least it sounded like the traders there could be more.... Amenable, and Ri could speak to them about locating Blue. She figured asking after Blue couldn't be too hard... Right? Well, anyway as she got there.... She could probably look for the girl herself.

@kira - [OOC: I won't *actually* charge Ri for the water since there isn't any bonus to actually spending tokens on it xD]

"A bottle of water is 10 tokens a piece. And we're running supply packs at the low price of 45 tokens a piece! And just for you - for every 2 supply packs you buy, I'll throw in a free bottle of water!" She was enthusiatic about the possibility of a purchase, especially this far out. They'd been expecting to sit dry in sales until they made it all the way to Crater City. Given that they had horses and a cart, getting through the hills was quite the challenge after all. It would take them time, and time travelling normally meant time they were not making any sales. If they could make even a small sale out here, that had to be good tidings for the journey ahead!

The other woman was quiet as the two of them discussed the potential trade. Her partner had a handle on this, and she didn't have any issue with the special deal that was offered. Water was a good sale in Oasis, as it was always hot, dry, and the ocean water was too salty to drink directly. But since they were heading back to Crater, it wouldn't sell nearly as well anyway. Whether Ri chose to buy or not, they'd be happy. And, assuming she didn't have any follow up questions, they would take off with a farewell and safe travels. If she traded, the bubbly woman would be quick to hand her the supplies and take the tokens, thanking her for her business.

And with that out of the way, Ri would be free to continue on her way to the village.

Ri thought about the low prices.... That and the deal.... Hm... She could probably buy two supply packs and get the free water. That sounded good.... The transaction was quick and painless. She now had two extra supply packs and some nice water, and her pockets only 90 tokens lighter. That was good. She took a quick sip from the bottle, feeling rather thirsty. Then she waved goodbye, and since it was polite, returned their good wishes. Though... She actually did sort of mean it. She thought the two women seemed to be alright... Giving good advice and all. So, she kind of did wish they wouldn't meet some angry pokemon on their way that could overcome their Rapidash and Ponyta and make them meet an unfortunate end.

So, now Ri was back on the.... Well, not road since there was no road. She just kept walking across the scrublands, reassured by the traders that she was heading the right way towards the village. She just hoped it wasn't too long. She yawned and rubbed at her eyes, but forced herself to keep going.... She couldn't sleep yet. Besides, it wasn't dark out. It was fine. Ri could.... Make it probably. Probably. It'd be fine as long as Ri didn't run into aggressive wild pokemon. Would that happen? She wasn't entirely sure. Possibly. Probably.... Feral pokemon were everywhere, it was humans that only managed to carve out little corners that were relatively safe, because they didn't want to go near large settlements of humans.

With the trade and farewells handled, the happy traders went along their way towards the hills. With two more supply packs in hand, the woman would be free to continue towards Oasis village. The sun was beating down harshly on her and Andy, the heat never ending in this place. Though the dryness was certainly a perk, not quite as unbearable and exhausting as a humid environment might have caused her from her time near Ashfield. The cracked ground provided some bumps and edges, but otherwise wouldn't give any sort of terrain that would be difficult to walk through.

Though she would make it a couple hour further towards her destination, there was more to see than just the scenery. They were a bit up the way, and hadn't seemed to notice her yet, but they were making quite the ruckus. There was a loud roar that broke through the gentle silence, a large hippopotomas opening its wide maw as it called out in anger. Luckily, given the lack of flora to mask pokemon, she was able to see a couple other creatures. There was a pokemon climbing onto the hippo, a brown bug with white tuft around its collar. The ground-type pokemon certainly didn't seem pleased by it, though as it wasn't attacking it may be unclear why.

Out in front of the large pokemon was a blue-ish rock. Though, this one had two feet and an oddly shaped rock sticking out of the top ot it, in a brown-ish color. It was clearly alive, as the rock was hopping anxiously with its feet, seemingly unable to figure out what to do about the situation. It moved around, but couldn't seem to get up on the creature to remove the fire bug from its skin. So instead they both flailed around as they tried to get the larvesta off, and were clearly agitated as it was. She could consider trying to find a path around them without losing her direction, but that would hold navigational complications in itself.

The heat was ridiculous. There was no shade or shelter from the searing sunlight, and Ri licked vainly at her chapped lips. She cast upward glances towards Andy, who still soared above her head, though she imagined he was probably feeling the heat as well. Still, she kept walking forward and forward. The ground wasn't perfectly flat, so she could feel the slightly rough terrain underfoot, but it wasn't difficult. It was basically flat compared to anywhere she'd been except maybe Lion's Plains, what with the thick vegetation around Ashfield and the very nature of the Rolling Mountains.

Sadly, Andy eventually apparently decided he tired of flying by himself. He flew back downward and tried to perch atop Ri's head. She realized she should not be allowing this as he came close, and she got a good look at his talons. She was exactly right, and while Andy was really heavy, she'd rather carry the bird that let him sit atop her head, because his talons were fucking pointy and ow, ow, ow! What the fuck, why did it hurt so much?! After about two seconds, she ducked her head and swiped with a free hand to get him to cut it out. He of course, then just landed back on her head, repeating Ri's cursing and try at getting him to cut it the fuck out. Instead he settled for her shoulder, and she hissed softly. It still hurt, but it was bearable. Ugh, okay. She dealt with carrying the heavy ass Yuki for as long as possible, she could deal with this bird that Sai brought home and his fucking pointy talons.

Then she kept walking. She'd stopped to deal with Andy and his perching problem, but afterwards she had to get back on the road. She faintly figured she shouldn't feel guilty for stopping for just a short while, but she couldn't help the feeling. Sometimes she felt like groaning for how ruled by her emotions she was, and how she couldn't stop herself from feeling certain ways sometimes. It was a shitty existence, but at least Ri was kind of used to it.... As used to misery as you could be, anyways. Misery had a way of taking you by surprise even if you'd lived with it for as long as you could remember.

Anyway, another interruption to Ri's travels presented itself. A hippo suddenly appeared, and it appeared upset. Without any cover, she could see the problem. There was a bug crawling onto Hippotas, and the hippo did not appear to be appreciative.... Probably. That was probably why he was upset. In front she could see a... Sentient rock of some sort. Roggenrola seemed to be kind of nervous.... Hm. She wondered if it was because of Hippotas, Larvesta, or some other reason. She figured it was probably because of the Larvesta, judging by how Roggenrola and Hippotas kept moving around. They were probably trying to remove the bug, but it wasn't working. She bit her lip. Shit.... She cast a glance to the side. If she tried to find a way around.... She might lose her way. Well... They didn't currently seem aggressive.... Ri sighed, scratching behind her neck. Maybe if she tried to help, they'd go off and she'd be able to pass. She held up her hands, palms facing forward, hoping they understood the gesture as she carefully moved forward. "Hey.... Mind letting me help?" She murmured softly.

If they let her through, she'd try with both hands to grab at the Larvesta and pry it off from the Hippotas. However, if she was attacked she'd immediately stop advancing and even back up several steps. She did not want to get hurt for this, but she really wanted to deal with this as fast as possible.

Meanwhile, Andy was observing this from the human's shoulder. Before the human started moving, he addressed the pokemon. "(What's going on?)" He asked, though he only sounded half-way interested in what was going on, and sounded more like he was treating them as a slight curiosity rather than any real concern. When the human began advancing, he nervously shifted his wings. If the human got attacked, he would immediately flap his wings to escape from the human's shoulder and get out of range of the attack.

@kira

At first, as the human approached, the pokemon were a little too concerned with their own situation to notice. They were solely focused on the hippo's plight, the ground-type flailing his large body around in an unsuccessful attempt to shake the fire bug off. As the steps pressed on the pokemon, the overly hot body was burning at his flesh. He lived in this desert area, so heat was something he thought he was used to. But this little incarnation of the sun was much hotter than any heat he'd experience. So the burning was actually causing him pain as the bug tried to get to the top. To her defense, she wasn't trying to inflict pain. She just wanted to sit on top of the creature.

As the human spoke up, the hoppi was less than pleased. In his flailing and current situation, he was ready to lash out. But thanks to her careful approach and demeanor, the roggenrola was able to get the gist of what she was trying to do. Or at least, he was pretty sure. "Hey no wait i think she's trying to help! Sit still a moment. Human's have those weird grabber things. She might be able to grab the bug and throw it off!" The rock tried to reason with the brown pokemon, hoping he was correct. The bug didn't seem pleased about that however, and only continued moving more quickly as her heat became a little more intense.

The hippo, much as he was in pain, only let out a pained roar as he started to stand still, shaking a bit from the discomfort. As Ri got closer, she'd be able to see the reddish tone tracking up the hippopotas' skin from the path the larvesta was climbing. But the hippo was trying to trust the human to help out, mostly at the words of the rock that had been trying to help. He just wanted this thing off of him. Normally he didn't care much about bugs climbing on him, but this was different. This one was burning him! And the bright, warm sunlight shining down just made it sting more than it already was. He just wanted to bury himself in sand and take a long nap.

If Ri still chose to try and lift the larvesta, she could find that its body was in fact causing the burns. The pokemon's flame body wasn't friendly to touch, and as such if she grabbed it she would find her hands immediately becoming burned upon contact. Of course, with nothing for the bug to hold onto, it would be simple enough for her to throw the creature off the hippo. If she didn't throw the bug immediately after grabbing, she would find her hands getting burned worse. Once the bug was on the ground it would start skittering towards her, deciding that she would be her next climb since she'd so rudely pulled her off.

Or, if Ri didn't help out, the bug would make it to the top, and the hippo would begin flailing about once more, unable to hold still any longer from the pain.

At first as Ri approached, the pokemon didn't seem to react. The Hippotas was still turning around, trying to shake off the bug. It still didn't appear to be working, not even a little. As she made herself known by speaking up, she seemed to alert the ground-type hippo.... And not in a good way. She stopped advancing for a little bit, and she thought that the chittering coming from the Roggenrola was.... Probably conversation. Nevertheless, even as the Hippotas still seemed to be in pain, finally was standing still, though it still seemed to be shaking from pain. Ri winced. Was that bug really that painful? There was something nagging at Ri, like she should know why the Larvesta was so painful, or at least an idea. Though, it didn't surface, so she kept moving forward.

Though, as she got close, she could see the exact reason behind the pain. The bug was leaving a trail of reddish skin behind, that she guessed was burns. She grimaced. Okay, so that bug was probably burning the hippo as it climbed. Somehow, she did not connect the fact that the bug was probably so hot that it burned the Hippotas it was climbing, to the idea that perhaps touching the fiery bug with her bare hands was a monumentally stupid idea. Alas, sometimes Ri had a real knack for noticing things and then not making the correct conclusions that any sane person with even one iota of common sense would.

Ri grabbed the Larvesta, and she immediately hissed out in pain, because fuck! That was hot! Burning hot and ow ow ow no wait shit this was a terrible idea! Honestly, while Ri didn't mind the idea of helping Hippotas, she also hadn't exactly realized she'd probably burn her hands off in the process. She immediately threw the bug away from Hippotas into the dirt, and as soon as it left her hands, she looked at her burnt hands and hissed, as they had kind of turned red as well with burns. Fuck, she hoped these weren't the kind that turned darker later..... Fuuuuck.....

Though, then she noticed Larvesta starting towards her now. "Oh fuck no!" She cursed loudly, and immediately started taking rapid steps back.

Andy, who'd been watching all this from the human's shoulder, sighed deeply. The human appeared to be kind of dense, and wasn't too bright or great at self-preservation. So incredibly different from Andy himself. At least it was mildly entertaining, her stupidity. It wasn't as funny seeing that she'd managed to burn her hands trying to help. Andy wasn't a sadist after all, and he didn't get his laughs from seeing others suffer. Though, it seemed the little bug that caused the ground hippo so much trouble, was making its way towards the human now. Andy narrowed his eyes. Hm.... It probably wouldn't take too much effort, and maybe the bug would go away after a little deterrent. Andy figured it was a calculated risk, and he could always fly away if the bug started crawling up the human..... He wasn't interested in getting hurt himself, after all. He outstretched his wings, and then he started flapping them at Larvesta, gathering up a gust of wind that would strike Larvesta.

@kira

As the winds of the gust stirred up, the bug held tightly to the cracked ground beneath it to try and resist being literally blown away by the wind. Whether it was able to or not, the sharp winds still beat at its exoskeleton, causing pretty major damage. Not something the pokemon was excited about. In the end, the little legs that clawed into the ground failed to get a solid grip. The dry earth crumbled within its grasp and the wind sent it spiraling backward a couple feet. All this when it was just trying to find a good place to perch. The pokemon hadn't had any harmful intentions, but its body was naturally unfriendly to others.

Angered by the birds attack, it started to churn up some fire, readying an attack of its own. But now the large hippo was on the case. With the bug no longer burning his rough skin, he turned to face the pokemon. The creature was trying to attack this duo that had saved him from further harm and honestly, he was ready to dish out some revenge. He groaned loudly, opening his slow mouth until it erupted into a harmless, but intimidating, roar. The larvesta stopped the fire attack, and quickly reconsidered. It was only a couple seconds before the bug turned and ran, the hippo hot on its tail.

The roggenrola didn't seem inclined to join the chase running away from them. Instead, the rock-type simply plopped on the ground. No longer interacting with Ri or Andy, they'd actually be free to continue on their travel unless they felt like chasing after the other two or interacting with the rock. If they chose to move forward and leave these three behind, Ri would find no other interruptions to her travels through to dusk. And as the sun started to set and the moon rose, she would find a much more drastic temperature change than anything she'd experienced in the other climates. With little life or otherwise in the environment, nothing controlled the temperature to keep it varying wildly down to a cold evening, made worse by the heat of the day.

Ri didn't have much interaction with Andy. He'd sort of joined their group, though seemed mostly attached to Sai. She had made some attempts to bond with him.... By some she meant like.... One and a half. That didn't really have too much extenuating effort put into them, so she didn't really expect much action from him other than using her shoulder as mildly painful perch. So, him helping to fend off the bug was greatly appreciated. She cast a glance to the Pidgey on her shoulder and had the slightest smile. "Thanks, I guess." She said. She hoped the message got across alright. She gazed back at the bug, that she really did not want getting closer to her due to its ah... Burning nature. So, that was appreciated and she figured that it was good to let Andy know.... Or at least try to let the bird know.

Fortunately, before the bug did anything, the Hippotas threatened the Larvesta. Then chased off the fire bug, with both the hippo and bug disappearing in the distance as they ran off. Ri let out a deep sigh. Well, that was done and over with. With them running off, they were no longer a problem or obstacle. There was still the Roggenrola hanging around, but didn't seem interested in them.... Just.... Sitting around. Ri scratched behind her neck, before she started walking again. She continued walking, with Andy on her shoulder. He hadn't really moved, so there he stayed. As she walked, she kept going even as the heat was increasing on her. She couldn't help the yawn, as the heat was suffocating.... But she didn't really want to stop yet. She just had to keep going.... She could keep going, she didn't need to stop now. She kept rubbing at her eyes.
