fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new world, and give it purpose.

Events

Terrene continues to heat
up, both in temperature and in conflict. Beta is asking for spies to infiltrate Omega's camp, while Dentelle simply wants to inquire after the scientist's progress. Later in the season, Beta is hosting his annual crater city tournament, where people can test their Pokemon and their leadership and strategies against one another.

Season

Summer will be here until
September. The heat of summer is here in full force, as well as the accompanying summer thunderstorms. Bug, electric, and fire types all thrive while others wilt under these conditions.

Continuing Solar Beam training. Aiming to evolve Wisp. Loyalty gains

It had been a few weeks since training with the budew that Victor noticed a drastic change in his appearance. Over the course of the spring, he was aware that Wisp was growing in size but it wasn't until summer than the budew started too really look different. The small eyes that the seedling had were beginning to open. Wisp was also showing the ability to move his buds at will. They used to part a bit when he'd use an attack such as absorb.

Now the buds seemed to be moving with the stems attached to him whenever he was practicing solar beam. The tiny leaf like feet that the budew would waddle on were growing longer. Wisp was developing the ability to walk easier along side Victor during his adventures. From what he was aware of with the budew beginning to part from the top of Wisp's head, they each had what looked like different color flowers blooming from them. Victor wasn't quite sure what was happening but maybe it had to do with the seasonal change.

The leaves that hung from his face, were growing longer and two of them seemed to be developing over his stems which gave the appearance of shoulders as the stems looked more like arms. There was one more difference he noticed as time moved on and that was the green grass that was growing from the top of his head. It was a major change as the weeks passed.

If the change in appearance wasn't enough, Victor became aware of Wisp's changing in attitude. What started out as a development in bravery, was becoming a bit of arrogance. The budew felt he could handle battles more often and didn't really believe he could lose. He was loving the attention he was getting from Victor as they trained but the trainer never wanted that to go to his head.

Continuing Solar Beam training. Aiming to evolve Wisp. Loyalty gains

Victor wasn't the only one to notice the change with Wisp. Pixie in particular was the one to really see his change over time since she spent the most time with him in a day. The seedling was looking a lot healthier than she was used to seeing. All the juice he was soaking up from the sun was really having an effect on him. Sure she was enjoying it too but perhaps it was the training that really advanced him further than her.

She liked the way he was looking as he grew. He became a lot more protective of her as well. Feeling the need to jump into fights more than he normally did. He often stayed beside her ready to defend her if it came down to it but not he was testing his strengths. The budew was also becoming a bit of a show off, trying to take chances at using his new ability. Though it wasn't successful just yet, he was being able to generate more energy each time.

Ghost had known Wisp the longest of all Victor's pokemon and she could see that he had come a long away from the timid little seedling he was. The way he worried about everything trying to eat him to now facing danger head on. It worried her a bit honestly, since she was still protective over him. She saw him as a younger brother and didn't want his new found arrogance to put him in harms way.

Still it was nice to fight along side him rather than try to protect him. The fox was proud of the budew, especially that he was taking on more training sessions to improve his abilities. She remembered he was barely able to do anything when she first met him but now he was an active participant in battles. Though, she did feel a bit jealous that he was spending so much time with Victor. Ghost remembered when she was the token fighter and now Victor was building up a well balanced team for his adventures.

Spirit didn't really care too much for the change in Wisp's appearance. Sure it would be helpful for the budew to be taller but it was his skills that mattered. Wisp showed the ability to help out more in battle but plant attacks really weren't so physical. At least not the ones he was witnessing from the budding pokemon. Even Pixie displayed no real threatening plant abilities. She was useless if you asked the ledyba.

Despite how Spirit felt about the budew, he did appreciate him practicing for some new kind of attack. He would generate enough energy to fire off a beam. Even if Wisp wasn't able to fire off the beam perfectly yet, he still gave the plant credit for working on it ever so often. Spirit found it a good idea to help train the seedling as well letting the plant use the bug as target practice. Not that the wisp would land blows but he sure as hell could try! Wisp had a while to go before he was strong enough to beat the bug.

Continuing Solar Beam training. Aiming to evolve Wisp. Loyalty gains

Nereid and Wisp were really good friends. She only ever saw him as an older brother and it was only after she hatched did he begin developing a more protective instinct. He would often look after her on Victor's travels. Noticing his confidence growing, only gave her the will to want to grow as well. She wanted to also be a part of the fights.

The corsola looked up to her older brother and even if he seemed to be growing more attached to the other plant pokemon in their team, she was fine with it. Nereid still have chances to spend time with him whenever they played. She enjoyed anytime he would water sport the group to cool them off, since she didn't really have many opportunities to be in water as she preferred.

With the budew growing and maturing, Bre'r was another one that didn't really care so much. Sure he figured that it would be beneficial to the pack as a while but it really didn't affect him. The seedling was actually becoming a bit annoying to him. He'd admit that if anyone cared to ask. The buneary didn't like how arrogant the budew was becoming. He was taking a lot of the spotlight when it came to training with Victor and although the rabbit didn't care too much to do fighting, he at least like getting attention from his trainer.

The jealousy wasn't just with the attention the seedling was getting. He was also appearing more appealing. No longer being just a lump of green, the budew was beginning to sprout limps and flowers? Sure it would be nice if he could function like a normal creature should with arms and legs but the colorful flowers were just showing off really. And if that wasn't enough, here came Wisp with his magical heat beams firing from those fancy flowers. He was sure he could shoot a beam or too if Victor had taken the time to train him to do so. They only practice the rabbit's physical moves which he was fine with but how cool would it be to spit out a beam?

When it came to Spectre he was completely unaware of the changes going on with Wisp. He barely spent any time with him so as far as the salandit knew, this was a completely different pokemon. He just assumed anytime he saw Wisp, Victor had caught a different plant. Each time he even tried to reintroduce himself. The lizard wasn't bright and it was likely the scent change along with the appearance that would leave him in the dark about the entire evolution for the longest.

Gnome was new. A young chespin, who didn't know Wisp at the beginning so as far as he knew, this is always how he was. Like Nereid, he looks up to Wisp and the older pokemon. Though, the armored rodent isn't aiming to be at the front of the fighting like he's known the budew to be lately. The chespin prefers to remain on the sides as a support, especially due to his inexperience.

Continuing Solar Beam training. Aiming to evolve Wisp. Loyalty gains

It was late midsummer and and the sun was beaming down above the team's typical training area. It was pretty hot this day, especially in the rain forest. Victor wondered if moving forward, it would be a good idea to leave Ashfield during this season. Likely a good idea to not die of heat exhaustion.

Victor was sitting with Wisp as they continued their meditation. Taking in the sun's ray, the Wisp was completely still. He sat with his roots for legs crossed and his stems that were mimicking arms were rested at his side. The other pokemon were relaxing nearby. Ghost was in her ball, however, as the heat was too much for the ice type.

While the younger pokemon played together, Spirit, Bre'r and Spectre were kind of doing their own thing. The bug was busy punching trees while the rabbit was grooming his fur. The black lizard was just resting flat on the ground enjoying the heat of the sun. There was no real reason to move in such perfect weather for him.

Wisp's buds were now bloomed into roses and he couldn't help but feel pleased with himself. Each one was beautiful to the plant and they had their own scents. The grass type was finding it easier to use his abilities now that he was able to move his stems and aim his roses at targets. Speaking of his roses, they would sometimes attract bug pokemon while Victor and his team traveled through the forest.

They weren't as sweet smelling as Pixie, but if spotted, bugs would try to collect pollen from them. The growing pokemon hated this as he would fight them off if they tried to come near him. It was particularly bad since his goal was to protect his friends, not attract danger.

The Gardener wasn't here for this. He trusted them to continue the training without him. Even if he had trained with them for the first few weeks. Victor and Wisp needed to be tested to see if they could learn anything on their own. It had been a few days since they practiced firing the solar beam and Victor was wondering if today would be a good day to try.

"Alright buddy, let's see if we can do this today," the trainer said to his pokemon. The rose pokemon stood onto his roots. He was ready to fire a solar beam this time. Not just a few spores or a sliver of light. Wisp was going to blast a hole in the sky and it was going to be as beautiful as he was now.

"Okay, Wisp, aim!" Victor commanded the plant. As the two rose to their feet, everyone turned to watch. His friends were all rooting for him to get it this time, while Spirit was pretty doubtful. If the kid didn't have it by now, then what was he even doing?

Wisp held up his roses toward the sky. Today was going to be the day. He was older, stronger, and developed. He was going to fire this beam from his hands and it was going to be great! The plant had to psych himself up for this. He needed to believe he could do this if it was going to happen.

"Ready?" Victor asked. The rose pokemon nodded. He'd never been more ready. "Solar Beam!"

Wisp felt the energy that fill his body center itself at the core. All the light he soaked him over the past several weeks was being focused into his stems. He could feel the energy passing though them and channeling into his roses. A ball of light formed in front of him. Victor watched anxiously. This was going to be it. Everyone watching on the sidelines were watching with anticipation. Was he actually going to do it this time? Spirit still didn't think so.

The orb suddenly burst and instead of a single beam firing forward, the energy zipped and scattered into the air. He failed. Wisp could feel a sinking feeling in his core. How, after all this time, was he not able to do this? The rose dropped to the ground, feel drained for the attempt.

Not wanting to add on to the disappointing aura that was filling the area, the other pokemon turned back away to continue what they were doing. Spirit shook his head. He figured as much. Victor was confused but had to accept what just happened. He knew they hadn't mastered it yet but it was good that they tried. It was better than the sliver of lights they were firing before.

Wisp was taking it a lot harder but Victor knew he wouldn't let this stop him from trying again. The trainer walked over to his pokemon and sat down beside him. Noticing the human by his side, the rose pokemon sat along with him. "It's alright, buddy," said the trainer. The plant turned his head slightly. He was tired of being comforted. "So, you failed this time. You're still learning. I'm still learning," the trainer continued.

The plant couldn't pick up everything Victor was saying but by now he was understood some of the human's words. He knew Victor was trying to make him fell better. It didn't stop him from sulking. Victor placed his hand on Wisp's head, patting the grown plant. "You're not a little seed anymore. You're grown into this, beautiful flower. Two even. You used to fear the world and now you face it head on."

Hearing the human continue, despite them both being aware not every word was going to translate well, Wisp looked back at him. "This isn't over yet. You're not done growing and neither am I. We're going to try this again and we will succeed. Not today and probably not tomorrow. But we will succeed."

Wisp let out a sigh after taking a deep breath. The rose pokemon leaned to the side onto Victor. The trainer allowed him while they looked up at the sky as the sun was disappearing from their view. Not quiet night yet, but still being late in the afternoon.

The other pokemon came rushing over to circle Wisp and Victor. They were proud of him for coming this far and would continue to support him as he had been doing for them. Spirit stayed over by the tree however. Only watching the group with his arms crossed. Wisp looked over to him, wondering why he wasn't over where the rest of them were. Spirit looked back at him and nodded at the plant. Wisp nodded back with a smile.

Even if it wasn't the little budew he used to be, it didn't mean he didn't have a lot more work to do. Still, he was definitely...evolved.

It was really interesting to see how everyone felt about the changes and how Wisp's personality was changing. It was cool to see each unique perspective into it.

As a quick summary of what I sent via PM, we are not awarding evolution quite yet. Reasons being that there was not enough IC description of the actual evolution itself, nor did we see enough time passing as Wisp was evolving. Keep in mind that evolution should take weeks, and we are looking for the small, gradual changes over that period of time, as well as how the pokemon evolving is adapting and dealing with those [As well as accepting evolution, since they technically do not have to evolve].

I look forward to seeing how you expand on this!
