Welcome

Our old universe has fallen into impossible chaos and destruction, but the Legendaries will save us; are saving us; have saved us. Soon many lives and memories will fill this new universe, this new world, and give it purpose. (Our site is best viewed in Firefox or Chrome.)

Events

The biggest event of the season- of the year, even- is the Anniversary Fair, and it is here again! We have a scary story contest. Our plot events are still going strong.

Season

Autumn will be here until December. All of Terrene is cooling by degrees; those in Ashfield scarcely notice because it never truly gets cold there, though they will notice the decreased rains and humidity. Winds pick up, particularly in the southern areas. Ghost types are more common this season.

Spoiler (Show/Hide)

So, I was told to mention favorite pokemon types and such here, so I suppose that's what I’ll do.

I’m a big fan of ghost, electric, and bug types. Grass is good too to a lesser degree, same with flying if it's not another flying/normal clone. But those three are by far my favorites. I remember hoping always when playing the pokemon games I could afford that they’d get to adding decent bug pokemon. (Sadly none were decent stat wise till gen 5)

As for her injury, it made a good excuse for why someone raised as a nomadic person has so little skills. She has been stuck on her but without practice for months.

I also left the appearance, general personality, etc. Of the family friend who took her in as vague as possible in case you wanted to involve them somehow. Please tell me if I can do anything else.

Rayne sat somewhat mutinously on a stump not far from the cabin. The whole thing weighed on her today. She longed to be out moving, hunting, fishing, anything. But it wasn't so simple. The breeze blew her hair around behind her, and she stood restlessly, and paved somewhat, leaning slightly on a cane at her side. Nothing terribly elaborate, wooden, but well carved and hand made, specifically hand made by her. Shecd spent months healing, she’s had more than enough time sitting on her but. She's ruined several attempts. She uttered a mild curse as she walked.

She could remember the day well. She’s been sitting in a tree, her now on her back, quiver at the ready, hoping to find her meal. Maybe a stantler if she was lucky, or a fish very close to the surface in the stream, neck, maybe a sizable berry bush. But what she hadn't seen was a large rhydon descending the hill behind the tree. It spotted her, and charged, head lowered. Before she’d been able to climb down or prepare, it smashed headfirst into the smallish tree, and with the loud cracking and splintering of wood, it fell.

The rest was a blur. She hit the ground and tried to roll, but the rhydon was already there. The falling tree hit her hard, and knocked her out. Then things moved from being a blur to a confusing mess. There was yelling, screaming, then someone was there and the rhydon was retreating. All she knew was that someone had saved her. Even now, thinking back, all she could remember was a voice, and vague, semi-conscious glances of the surroundings.

She’d only woken fully, enough to think clearly, and really see her surroundings. Whoever has saved her had taken her to a nearby cabin. Her parents had been nomads and traders, she's met this man before, a family friend. She’s broken her right femur, several ribs, and an arm, and required multiple stitches. Thankfully, somewhat of a hermit the family friend was, he did know how to take care of himself. She supposed you had to learn to stitch sounds and set a bone if you insisted on living alone. But she's been down for months, her leg in a heavy splint, and her arm as well.

For a nomad, this stationary life was infuriating and unacceptable. It didn't help that, used to his own survivalist living style, her friend wasn't a talker. So there was a lot of silence living with him. But now, almost fully healed, it was almost harder. She yearned to be off, to move, to travel. As grateful as she was to be able to walk, dependence on a walking cane irritated her. But he's insisted, and she didn't care to rebreak it. So for the next while still, her hand made cane (what else did you do when you had ample sitting time and nothing else) would be her constant companion.

So she paced, walking a trail around the mountain, not too far from the cabin, perhaps looking for a cave she could explore even a little bit in, or else maybe she could find something else to explore, what little she could without going into terrain too rough for a person requiring a cane.

Rayne L Silverwind

26 - Female - Asexual

Appearance

Rayne stands at an average 5 feet 6 inches tall, and has a rather average build, being somewhat healthy and in shape, yet not overly so, definitely not a bulky person. She has Brown hair with a faint redish rings to it in the right light. It is kept cut down to a few inches behind her shoulders, and usually can be found in a ponytail. Her eyes are a mix of green and brown, mostly green around the pupil, but turning brown as it reaches the irises. Her body is somewhat androgynous, lacking some of the curves of other women, but not is it particularly masculine. She has breasts, perhaps small, average at best, and this tends to help people classify her.

Her clothing is relatively simplistic. Practical pants and shirts, nothing terribly feminine, though that's perhaps more due to the location than her preference. Usually more sturdy clothing if she can get them. If possibly she wears a cloak, preferably with as many pockets as possible, in which who knows what random things she's have squirrels away in them. Previously she was usually found with a bow, though it has been broken and discarded. All of her clothing tends to favor more earthy colors, reds, browns, and greens.

Personality

Rayne is a rather unusual person. She had a habbit of perhaps being more blunt than is needed. Not out of irritation or foul intent, but simply because her mind functions differently than other people's. One such way is clear ADD, she is always fidgeting, and many people can end up feeling ignored when they have to repeat themselves because her thoughts were racing around. This makes her slightly scatterbrained, which can cause some degree of social tension.

If you can tolerate her occasional accidental offenses and badly phrasing things, you will find she is loving, and very caring. Rayne can be incredibly empathic, easily feeling the pain of others. The requirements of this world take their toll on her, and while she may hunt and fish, she isn't easily desensitized to the pain her prey feels, and always strives to ensure such prey finds as humane a death as possible. Another oddity one might note when they get to know her, is a complete lack of sex drive. She simply doesn't have the physical need or attraction to others, though she does desire loving, romantic relationships. This can be a huge strain on most people who try though.

Rayne likes a great many things, sweet and mildly spicy foods are her favorites, particularly jerky. Her favorite times of day are dusk and early nightfall, and on suitable days, she can be seen enjoying the sunset, or the soft feeling of the breeze on her skin at night. On the opposite side of the spectrum, she dislikes sour foods, and overly bitter ones. That said, she is also known for readily eating raw veggies relatively happily. In good her biggest dislikes can come as much from texture as taste, wet, cooked down and gloopy foods like boiled spinach are disgusting to her. Out of the day, she generally dislikes mid day, in terms of where the sun is, not necessarily actual time.

History

Rayne was born in late fall, during the start of winter. She is perhaps unusual in that she has no family name, having been born to someone who was pulled in and who did not remember one. Her name comes from the late fall rain that came shortly after she was born. Her parents told her that as the rain flowed in the wind, it began to slowly freeze, untill the mix of rain, snow, and sleet blowing in the wind seemed to give it a silver sheen. Rather than bother with a typical surname, she was named for the freezing rain blowing on the wind.

Her parents raised her on a somewhat more nomadic way of life, moving with the seasons, hunting, fishing, and gathering where possible. She had a relatively simple, but for filling life, growing up always on the move. However this hasn't presented her with the same opportunities more settled people have. For example, despite her age, she has never been in any lasting romantic relationships.

Rayne is just now finishing recovery from a serious injury she obtained traveling in the rolling mountains. While sitting in a tree branch looking for possible meals, she unknowingly caught the attention of a rhydon, which promptly charged the tree. In the end, the tree was quickly knocked town, as it wasn't particularly large, and she broke several bones. She probably wouldn't have made it had a traveler not saved her. Despite that, she was knocked unconcious in the attack and only recalls vague semi-conscious memories, not enough to get any idea of name, or even gender. She only really fully woke the next day, already being taken care of by a third person. While she should heal just fine, good as new in fact, the lengthy recovery time has left her very rusty, and she is eager to get back on her feet.
